From an Indian perspective then it would be similar, just replace the Ottomans with French and British.

The Ottomans would be the ones that come first to my mind.

Then of course the Greeks.

The most significant, Islamic?

Then the Mongols etc.

It was not just Sendal that was impacted, the waves hit the west coast of the US.

So anybody whose coastline borders the Pacific should be eligible, including Russia, China, Vietnam, Canada, Mexico as well as Japan.

If losing your internet temporarily is not good enough reason for an expedite, I do not know what would be.

Dude are you kidding? I dont even go shopping during black friday. that many people all going f'n crazy over the 1 xbox that walmart is selling for 99 bucks....yeah no thanks...I'll pass!

You know it's funny because the longer time goes and the more we exchange our postings the more random they seem to get. I mean we are all so excited at the beginning of this thread...now I'm reduced to chalkin the lack of approvals up to drug use! HA!

Oh well....We are all still well within the 5 month window that we should really have prepared ourselves for so we can't really start complaining hard core until Feb. I will say if I'm still on this thread in Feb you all should be very very scared as to what the topic of conversation will be! So it says that at CSC, no visa whatsoever - from any class - has been approved from September applicants??

Just for validation purposes, does it say the sae thing for VSC?

I will admit I do check on here to see if anyone has been processed but because I've read so many things that people say they never even received an update on the USCIS website I very rarely check it. I figure if it happens to update and I get an email I'll know then! It's hard to believe it's nearly Thanksgiving already and that it's been 2 months since we submitted the application to begin with. I'm glad John is here with me for now. It would be great if we could get the NOA2 before we are apart again...we have till the 3rd of January that way! I'll will be uber excited if we could get it before then.

Haha! No, I actually dont really look at the USCIS site either. It's always been a b*tch for me to log on and like you, I figure I'll get the email if it gets updated.

Well, not that I don't want my NOA2 NOW, but at least we saw from August that once they start working on a particular month, they can practically go through it within 2 weeks. And we havent reached our predicted window yet.

So I'm trying to be zen about it... I'm confident it's coming very soon!!

They have to be working on some other types of visas. When you search for K3s and CR1s etc., they havent gotten approvals either. I even had a peek at VSC (I had stopped doing that a while ago), and they're not really getting approvals either.

Stay positive and let us know if you see touches!!! I say it's the calm before the storm.

I haven't been in any sort of rush to get the NOA2 but it's nice to know they are being processed even if what they are working on isn't mine smile.gif Yesterday was the first day I had actually logged on to the USCIS website for quite a while. I had to put the password in twice (whoops i forgot what it was!) because it had been so long. I do think that our little window that we've been given may very well pass. I suppose for John and I it just means that he won't have to hold on to the packet 3 for as long as we thought. We are trying to plan the timing of the interview/approval with the fact he wants to get here shortly after the visa is approved but not too long before we plan on having the wedding. I'm telling ya for all the planning we are all having to do we deserve a big cookie!

HA! You have this little meditation/mantra thing going on! I'm sure it won't be long now before one of those nice people in their cubes have a box labled Kizza smile.gif I just wish SOMEONE from Sept would get approved already. There will be a flurry of emails when it happens. I'm excited for whoever that first person is!

seriously... but at the same time, since nobody is getting approved, Im managing to finally relax. I know it will happen, it's a matter of days, and Ive stressed so much about this since the beginning, because of little issues with my case, that I dont think I have it in me to worry anymore - for a while. I cant wait for somebody, anybody from september to get approved. I will be so excited!! but I know I'll start worrying again that my file will slip through the cracks. I'm realising I'm a worrywart. boohoo.

I always take a second to look at the number of applications under the "view national volumes and trends" link...

I never look at that... hmmm... here's something new to start checking compulsively.

Right now, 69,5% of August is approved... which means that if I'm right, they will be starting to work on us pretty much now mellow.gif

If you're interested in seeing more data, have you looked at pages like

The medical fees in Colombia are like $150-- funny, because I went to the ER and was admitted to a private hospital for about 4 hours and paid the whole thing out of pocket for about $120, including all meds.

Here's some exciting news for me. I've picked out an engagement ring for Andrea when she comes. I don't think this will be a problem that she doesn't have a ring already or that I haven't officially proposed, considering the distance. It is our intention to get married. I mean, anybody can put on some ring before they go into the embassy for the interview, so they must not place importance on that.

It looks like I picked the wrong week (last week) to start checking Igor's list, what a bummer!

Congratulations on the ring!! that is exciting! I dont think it is a problem either if she doesnt have a ring at the interview. From what Ive read in other threads, it's often the case. And I know a lot of people havent "officially" proposed.
Just so you know though, they do sometimes ask at the interview when you got engaged. I say that just so that she expects it and doesnt get flustered if they do ask. (I get scared they'll ask me a question that throws me off and I'll look like Im lying or something - I've been interrogated before and they have a way of asking weird questions just to see your reaction... not that asking when you got engaged is weird...)

Yeah, the last 10 days or so have been a bummer on Igors list, but Im thinking things will pick up after Veteran's day. And I know these guys like to do overtime because it pays so well, so maybe some took files home to work on them and we'll get a bunch of approvals tomorrow good.gif Ive decided I would be stubbornly positive about this.

It's 11/11. A good day to make wishes.

I swear I saw their send date as 09-25 and NOA1 as 09-27, which is after my date!! Gave me a foretaste of how happy I will be when it finally happens!! I'd better put some champagne to chill! Does anyone know what fees have to be paid in the foreign country to the US embassy? It looks like $131 for the ds-156, but there's this DS-230 too, and it's not clear if there's a fee to that.

Any day now we'll start getting those Sept noa2's!

I dont think the fees are related to the forms per say. I believe the $131 fee is a "visa production fee".

That is correct, you pay for the visa not the forms. You will also have to shell out for the medical which will run another $100 or so.

The cost of the medical varies quite a bit from one country to another.
In Canada, the medical is closer to $300.

Ok, I finally got to a page that helped me. I went to the US Embassy in Bogota page and that gave very good information specific to getting prepared for the interview there. It listed medical exam fees and document delivery fees, and also listed the $131 fee (ds-156). I was worried for a second when I saw on another page that there was a few hundred dollar fee for the ds-230, but that must be for another visa.

I also read that any documents in Spanish or English do not need to be translated. That's a big yay! because I figured that was another expense.

The point being, check YOUR foreign embassy website and look at the instructions for the K1 packet. Here's the Bogota one, just in case you want to see what I'm talking about. http://bogota.usemba...ctionsfeb09.pdf

Well I agree with you, and I dont mean to get "greedy" with the approval times, but I just wish we would see some consistency. I wish they would finish approving a month before jumping to the next when they are 3/4 done, and keep a steady pace.

I started the process expecting a 6-9 month deal, so I was glad to see things might go faster than predicted, but then realised I might get stuck in the FBI namecheck for 30 days because 2 years ago I answered questions on some investigation that had nothing to do with me, and then learned that Montreal can take 4-6 months to give an interview date. Im still optimistic things will go smoothly, but Im a little antsy for things to get moving because Im scared my petition might take a little longer to get approved and that I'll still have some wait ahead of me once it is approved.

On a brighter note, I dreamt last night that I got the approval notice and headed straight to the consulate and the guy said my visa was approved. After I left I realised I didnt even have my passport or any papers for the interview. But it was easy as pie! then I thought, sh!t, I havent even had time to tell Matt! luv.gif It all happened so fast, it got me in a good mood!!

No approvals these past 2 days!!? CSC you are killing us with the wait!
I hope people are just too happy right now to update..yeah that must be the case ;P

they really are killing us! but I still moved down one spot.

And when I told Matt there had been no approvals in the last 2 days, he said "that's fine, there'll just be tons on Monday."
I hope you two are right.

Erm.... I call bullsh!t. Is there one and only service center? When CSC stops working, VSC gets to it, and vice versa?
diablo.gif

geez... Im getting new gray hairs everyday, Im sure.

Nonetheless. Although I was disappointed to see only 1 approval this morning, my timeline did move ahead by 12 days or so. So I am still happy. kicking.gif
But seriously, what the hell. A little consistency please. Like, 5 approvals a day from now on.

and August is approved at 56-58%... I cant remember exactly now. But Im thinking another 12-15% and they'll be working on us. yes.gif

Phew! whistling.gif Ok, I found at least one approval from yesterday! makes me happy.... They just havent filled in their timeline yet.
I bet there are more!

I just dont want CSC to slow down again. Power of positive thinking, people! yes.gif

It's funny because John NEVER got on this website when he was back home. I get home from work and I show him and he's excited that our number keeps going down. He's so laid back he never gets excited about anything so it's nice that he's excited about this!

I know what you mean!!! Matt is the same way lately. It's gotten to the point that he's asking me what number we are at before I even get a chance to look!!

hehe! same here with my Matt. laughing.gif

God.... I was just getting happy to see angel and mayham disappear from the top 15 on igors list after putting the wrong date in their timeline over a month ago and now someone else did the same thing!!

Sorry. Im a little cranky. ranting33va.gif

I'm so glad someone else feels the same as I do. It pisses me off to no end when people just can't get this sh*t right. It's pretty simple and if you make a mistake, edit your silly timeline dammit! On the bright side of things, our estimated adjudication date is inching it's way back into the end of Dec./beginning of Jan. For a little while there I was worried it would dip into Feb.

I sent a message to the first people who were showing on that list for a month. I sent it the day after it showed up...apparently they didn't care that it was messing things up! I dont know why people can't just say hey...I'm not approved yet!

I think they are approved, but just get the date wrong... which I dont understand, since this process makes me well aware of the date.
Anyway, the people from yesterday did change their timeline... good.gif
The thing with wrong timelines is that it also tweaks the timelines of the people after them.

What's up with the lack of approvals yesterday!? I hope there were some, but people just havent gotten their notice yet or havent had time to check in here. But at least we are now above the halfway mark on the graph! looks good! yes.gif

Well John made it ok. He said that was actually the easiest time he has had going through immigration! All that worrying for nothing. Now I get to spend the next 8 weeks with him here. We are going back to England together on Christmas to spend the New Year then. Wooo Hooo I LOVE being with him smile.gif

I gotta say... I am a little jealous!!! happy.gif
So glad he entered without any hassles! Enjoy that time together!! I bet it will make the wait a little more bearable! yes.gif

August filers at CSC are almost at 50% now!!! All this in 1 week! dancin5hr.gif Let's hope that they continue this faster pace all the way to us September filers! Getting more excited now biggrin.gif

I didnt expect it to move all weekend but it just jumped to 45%. If this keeps up they could start september filers this week!! Getting very excited now!!

Gotta say, I kinda squeaked a little bit when I read this, LOL.

Kizza, wouldn't it be awesome if we got our interviews on the same day? We could go for coffee or something, or dinner the night before. I know a bunch of the November Montreal interviews are doing that. Is your SO coming to the interview with you? (and I so just peeked at your profile and HOLY ####### -- my fiance's name is Matt, too! LOL!)

That is so funny that your fiancé's name is Matt too! A bunch of us from Sept. are marrying Matts I guess! Rosa's man is a Matt too... There is something about them Matthews I guess luv.gif

Yeah, I did not expect to move spots like that on Igors list this weekend! How amazing is that!?! star_smile.gif
It would be great to have our interview on the same day.... dinner the night before sounds good! We could also celebrate with champagne afterwards!! kicking.gif
I don't know if my SO will come for the interview... I really want him to, but I guess we'll have to see with the timing of it. He is coming for the holidays -- very excited about that! (I noticed you'll get to see your SO very soon! lucky!) Im really glad Montreal seems caught right now. Let's hope it goes quickly when it's our turn to interview!
