K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNightmare of an Interview @ Mumbai 4/19

Harsh had his interview in Mumbai and needless to say it did not go well at all, Harsh said there was 2 male officers one a US officer and also an Indian officer and they grilled him for several hours about the age difference and they kept asking him how much he paid me to file the K-1 Visa just so he can come to the US!!! Harsh said they even showed him my face book account and said see she has lots of male friends and she could be your mother!! He said they were both yelling at him one in English and the other in Gujarati and kept insisting that he paid me to file for a K-1 Visa. Oh and here is the kicker they told him I was married before.I have never been married and Harsh told them that but they said she has a daughter, Harsh said yes I know but she has never been married before. They then said she has a security number so we know everything about her and she was married before!!! I called our Immigration attorney and also I spoke with my Senator, my senator assigned me one of her immigration aides and I spoke with him today and he already emailed the consulate. Harsh is going to fax me copies of all the papers they gave him he said they gave him a 221g and told him someone would contact him, then they also told him that they know he paid me and he probably will be banned from the US. I know for a fact that Harsh has never given me any money I have covered the cost of the entire K-1 process including his medical fees.It has been a very emotional day for both of us with lots of crying, but now more than anything I am mad as hell that they treated Harsh like he was a criminal when we have done nothing wrong but love each other and only want to be together. I hope those 2 officers have their big boy panties on because they are in for a fight. We will not take this lying down.

Yep, read for yourselves.

Some of us have great jobs, with retirement, a house, kids, family.....We can not just on a whim go okay I will move to India then.

Would that not be part of your thought processes when getting involved in such a relationship.

You could replace LA and NY, principal is the same.

Maybe if I was in my early twenty's and not established in life I could just do that. Not saying that I would not go and live with him in India, but we have been apart for long enough and if I need to move to India it will be a long process also.

I moved when I was well past my 20's, it can be done!

Also it is great to give honest advice, but stating the obvious holes in her case does not help.

She may know, but it certainly did not come across that way in the initial post.

She knows just like I and you about where the holes are in our cases that we could have more evidence. She was hoping that what they had would be enough and she was disappointed and upset that they denied him his visa and how they treated him. I would feel the same.

Go back and re read the original post.

Any tax payer should be appaled at some of the stuff I am reading about the conduct of our public servants at our Embassies, if the allegations are true.

At least they can not keep them apart.

Wow, I just have to say you have got to be the most negative person I have seen in a long time. Every time you post it is to always say something negative, or to belittle everyone on this forum. You can say whatever you like or think, however your opinions or thoughts don't matter to me, at the end of the day Harsh and I know who we are and what our feelings are for each regardless of much time we have spent together in person. We have known each other for over 2 years. And what does it matter if I have a child from a previous relationship? You know it amazes me that people can be so narrow minded. Of course we knew it would be tough and the age difference would come into play here, what I am shock at is how they treated Harsh. My god people treat their dogs better then he was treated. Its people like you that have to run at the mouth all the time and always have to put in your two cents that makes others not want to post on forums. Maybe you should to not be a negative Nelly all the time and try to be supportive of others struggles. My mom always says if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. Some good advice maybe you should try it!!

He did not state any opinions, just facts pertinent to the case.

no worries! :)

well make sure it has the requirements... which is that it shows that "the Canadian Police Information Centre (CIPC) or the national criminal records repository was searched using the applicant's name and date of birth".

Police Records
Inside Canada: Applicants who are physically present in Canada should contact their local police service or Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) office regarding criminal record check procedures. Applicants may obtain a certificate of no conviction issued by any Canadian police service so long as it notes that Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or the national criminal records repository was searched using the applicant’s name and date of birth. Applicants should ensure that the search includes all names that they have previously used, including maiden names, prior married names, or names used before Canadian naturalization. (Note: Because records checks based on name and date of birth only are sometimes less thorough than those based on fingerprints, U.S. diplomatic offices reserve the right to request that certain applicants obtain fingerprint-based searches from the RCMP.)

Aand:Trust me, I felt your pain't not too long ago so the memory of it is still fresh. But think of it this way, years ago, maybe even months, it'd take almost/over a year, nowadays the average wait time is 5 months. Not to discourage you but I called & the person practically reminded me that the average wait time is 5 months & unfortunately, it is not first come first serve.
Oobatnep, I was never touched, just straight NOA2; so we can't even judge by touches that we're not close to an approval.
Luis&Alice: oh ok....
4Lovewelive: Now I'm confused. What does your poets have to do w/ a work permit????
Ney:Congrats!

I've been told and I also read that they give you a work permit / EAD - employment authorization document (its actually a stamp i think) when you enter USA through JFK. It is the only POE that will give you a temporary work permit (has a 90 days availability i think).
You can read about it in people's reviews in POE section on Visa Journey.

It used to be the case, but unfortunately that stamp is no longer valid and does not give you the right to work.
I have seen several threads about it.

Well, considering that the embassy information page on VJ says that it takes 4-6 months to get an interview there, and based on the wait of other people before me, it'll probably at least be feb. before he gets an interview.

But he doesn't graduate from engineering school until next April. After that, CAE gave him the option to stay on after his co-op and work part time while he goes to school. His dad said that since he'll be in school that he'll pay his apartment rent. So anything that he makes while working at CAE would go towards our wedding and living costs afterward. And since he's making $22 an hour, he's decided that he wants to stay at long as he can so he can make as much money as possible.

I think it's mostly guilt over the fact that we'll be living off of my salary until his work authorization comes through. But I support him.

well I guess it makes sense and at least, if you already have the visa, it will be a huge weight off your shoulders. And what's a couple of months more when you have the rest of your life to be together (that's why I try to tell myself...).

If you are trying to find cheap flights to come see him again, sometimes flying to Burlington, Vt can be a good option. It is a bit of pain in the @ss because you have to take the bus afterwards, but the flights can be much cheaper depending on deals going on at the time.

He bought his computer from dell. It looks like an English keyboard. He just has his language settings on his keyboard as French. I remember he did something to my laptop to make it switch between english and french and for the longest time it would keep randomly converting back to french on me. I think he does it as torture. smile.gif I`ll get him back for it one day.

But since today is the 1 year anniversary of our first meeting I`ll go easy on him today.

howdy all, no news for me today, but here to give a quick update on the 8 petitions that were still left in initial review for VSC 9/24. Finally some movement on 1 - though a negative one. The one petition whose status changed actually got denied. It's the first one i've seen denied and it seems weird that it wouldn't have gone to RFE first. Anyone know why a petition would get denied instead of first requesting more evidence? Just curious...

I found one of the numbers on my mini watch list as denied too...(I became a normal person for a while then started back up on the checking consecutive numbers again.. whatcha gonna do when you get obsessed?? ) I wondered if maybe they hadn't met in the prior 2 years or if the petitioner had an unacceptable background check. I couldn't think of another thing that would send it straight to denial.. But what do I know? I am pretty green around here.. blush.gif

Was just looking in the main forum and there is a thread there from someone who just got a denial letter.. denied because of a lack of signature. It must not have been the I-129F or they would have just sent the whole package back and not accepted it. Something wasn't signed.. so they denied it. I would think they would just give an RFE for that.. so maybe there is something more to it than the person thinks.

If we're thinking of the same post, her petition wasnt actually denied. She read it wrong, the letter said her petition "could not be accepted", and it was returned with the uncashed cheque... It seems like she can just double-check everything making sure it is signed and send it back.

I hate to say it, but I wouldn't expect you to have any touches or a NOA2 for at least another month. Heaven knows we here shouldn't have had our NOA2's for another month, maybe 2.

I've said it a thousand times, but I don't think it's fair that VSC is going so fast and leaving CSC in the dust, but it is what it is and we can't change it. sad.gif

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know there was a separate thread for the CSC filers.

Fair or not, is not for us to decide. Good things come to those who wait, right? I'm just glad to be in the game. smile.gif

Nah.......... things have been moving very fast at CSC in the last week. Nearly half of August filers have gotten approved. Check out the CSC thread. I expect September filers to start getting approved within the next 2 weeks!!

I realised your fiancée has a profile too, so it might be better you dont both update your timelines? not sure whats best in that case - for statistics sakes.

Long time follower... first time poster...

The notice date of our NOA1 is September 22nd, 2009. While we've remained patient for NOA2, I've noticed that that many filers before and after us have more to update on their profiles in terms of case history than we do and so doubt is starting to creep in despite not receiving any requests for information. When I go to check the status of our case on the USCIS site (https://egov.uscis.g...is/Dashboard.do) it still remains just showing the initial review.

I'm wondering if anyone provide me a link or give me directions to on how to tell if our I-129F has been "touched" or at least just to verify the link I posted above is where everyone is getting their "touches". I seem to see "touched" quite frequently throughout these threads. Is this something only visible to the Vermont center as I don't recall seeing "touched" in the updates by people who filed through California.

Many thanks in advance to those that can help and congratulations all around to those of us this similar journey!

Hi Jay and welcome!

Follow the link Ney posted for you and you will be able to see when your case was updated last (touch).

The reason you havent seen touches on people from california is that the CSC is running a little behind the vermont center. So I dont think any of us really had any touches lately. But things have started moving again in the last couple of weeks, so that could change soon.

I see your fiancée is Canadian... Have you guys checked out the canadian forum too? great source of info!

Jen,

I found the 5 pound one the tracking number is: 8806169875

no 4 pound one.

hi guys

how did u track ?

http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef

go there, then type in the date NVC said they sent it out, for example: Oct 27 ..so you would put: EXP 27 OCT 2009A in the reference line and the date range be Oct. 27th to current date.

I got a question... if anyone can help. Is the H1N1 shot compulsory to take at medical check-out in any country? Has anyone heard about anything like that?

it doesnt say so on the woking website. Maybe you could contact them?
I see the influenza vaccine (I presume for the seasonal strain) is only required from oct-feb in certain age groups (under 6 I think and over 65).
