Normally...they get it within 1-2 daus depending upon postal service...and they change the status saying....we have received the response. we are actively processing case bla bla... congrats Sonjat After I submitted documents...I filed service request...and here is the response... The status of this service request is: Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact customer service at the number provided below. One month for RFE review is an estimate - it could take more or less time. It depends on how complicated the RFE was. When you get NOA2, it'll take a month just for NVC to receive your case and give you a case number, then another month for you to go through all the NVC steps. From there, it could take a month for you to get an interview, and then another month or two for the interview to actually happen. After waiting so long since June 04, they now sent us RFE...today...the status says - "On March 26, 2013, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283." I guess it really depends on the complexity of what is being asked for, we got an RFE for an original marriage certificate. Our case was approved 2 weeks after they received it back at VSC. My RFE for asking original marriage certificate,but they dnt ask for tax doc. or bank details... Will they ask these doc. in next REF????? They state on the RFE that it CAN take up to 60 days, I guess they say that to stop people calling them too soon. like I said, I guess it depends on what they are asking you for. Ours was really simple and so was approved quickly. We got RFE march 13th, at that time my husband visited to see me for his vacation, few days ago he reached USA, in a day he will get the letter than only we know what was asked for??? also i dnt no how long it take once we submit the RFE doc.????? I check with her and see if she is ready to make such a call. I might send a letter just for the sake of doing something. But I say patience is the key. Hi all my case status has changed to RFE, by the way my husband came to Sri Lanka for our anniversary he will be going back 22nd March,i dnt long once he submit the documents how long it take to finish all the work???????????????? My NOA1 date is June 29, 2012. Just received the email and am jumping around doing the happy dance because I wasn't expecting this until late March based on how things have been looking. We are hoping that with the approvals around us being done itll be no more than a couple of weeks before we receive an approval, perhaps another month for you then? It means they are working on approximately 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after. That being said, you can only submit a service request if your priority date is before June 4th. You can have him try opening a "service request" but with a PD date of 6/22/12, I don't think USCIS will open a case up YET. When I called last week, they told me they were still working on 5/31/12 so I didn't qualify. He can try contacting his congressman, but I hear that doesn't always work, and varies by case. Maybe tomorrow? Maybe next month? There are people who has a NOA1 before me, that haven't been approved yet, and people who have a NOA1 date after me that have been approved. Who knows. I printed out a copy in case this is some dream and I need physical proof for when I wake up. I should be really happy, but feel kinda numb after waiting for so long. Almost like I just got back home from being in a war.
