IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 confusion regarding Q's 14 and 31a.

Incorrect as it relates to the OP's question. For the purpose of that question, accompany or follow means is who is immigrating with the beneficiary, a US Citizen or US LPR petitioner would not be immigrating with the beneficiary.

OP: Questions 14-17 would be the petitioner's information

Question #31 (a and b) the answer would be "none" even if the petitioner and beneficiary come to the US together after the interview, the petitioner is not immigrating.

thanks for correction, because someone told us that info.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 confusion regarding Q's 14 and 31a.
Hi,
Question #14-17: Petitioner
Question #31A: Petitioner
#31A n #31B is the same name (petitioner), because will be and follow with you in USA.

Remember this form is for Beneficiary, therefore, this info is about wife/husband´s beneficiary.

Ive been waiting 2 and half years, they will always tell you 30 days, 60 days , 180 days, or pending background check (by now they must have done 20 of them? ) Also service requests are useless, ive done about 60 of those

OMG, sorry hear about it!... we hope you have all ready soon!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWe called today USCIS for I130 delay

Wow.. I was looking at Igors timelines to see just how far out of the norm you are.. I can't believe the average NOA1 to NOA2 for Vermont I-130s for the month of July was about six weeks! six weeks! Was the entire month expedites or so something? June wasn't much different.. Of the last 15 NOA2s, three of them were under 30 days, ten of them less than two months. There is already a mid-august NOA1 that has a NOA2 (in 23 days!)

As far as the topic: There really is not a lot you can do at this point but wait.. I am amazed at how hard it is to effect anything that is considered out of process. Your call probably at least got them looking at to what was holding up your file but you will never know what it is. If there was a artificial constraint (misplaced file) it will be fixed thanks to your call most likely and you will suddenly find yourself approved...

It's a surprise for us... really!.. because we saw others cases and the most delay take only 90 days. Maybe is because my wife is LRP, but all we can see is that Vermont is faster for citizens, or really i dont know what case is LPR, but others services centers take the same time for all petitions.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAbout i130 form filling

There is a debate on this. "Short visits are not considered as living together". Based on this, many people have not filled it and entered either N/A or the address and period they thought actually lived together. And I think they didn't have any issues.

However, I filled my last stay together address with my wife in my I-130 forms (one in 2008 and the other in 2010) and didn't have any issues either. My both visits are few weeks only and we lived together or rather I must say visited each other. In both definitions, we spent time (both day and night, we went to the restaurant and movies too!) together at my home in India as husband and wife.

Now, it is up to you, because you are the boss!

Loto

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 - Name change certificate

Are you referring to changing the first last name? Or are you referring to actually changing your first/given name? My wife is Colombiana and I am speaking with her now and she is even wondering how is possible to change the name on a birth certificate so many years later. She will change her name to her married name but through our research and threads in the Colombia portal we have discovered it's easier to do this when in the US and working through the Colombian embassy in Miami.

No, im talking about my first NAME, and is possible just need too patience, because you need change all your documents.
I did it for religious reasons, i did convert to another religion.
But, i need attach all the new notary documents, old and new?
Thanks

Greetings,
I explain first.... to change the first name, in my country we make a request before Notary through notarial document and then change the the first name on birth certificate with the new. So, is replace the old certificate for a new one.
To send I-130......
What documents should be attached when the first name has changed?.
Do i need attached the new and/or old certificate?
Do i need attached the notarial documents?
Or is enought with the new certificate?

Thanks a lot!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCertified English Translation Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes we both were present at the ceremony. The original certificate is in Arabic and I even had a translator there for me as they performed the ceremony. The second translator just referenced me as Mrs. Boo instead of Ms Boo which is normally how to reference a single woman. I will send my offical state sealed divorce degee showing that my previous marriage was disolved and include my birth certificate to show my maiden name.

So.. all done! :D

I was worried because they titled me as Mrs, not Ms. I now understand the mixed definition. The original translation I have but it had the wrong time of day and the new one had the wrong title for me. What a joke. Can any translator do it perfectly.

Thank you for your comments.

Like YuAndDan say getting a better translation done by someone else.
But i think that is a translation and is understood as Mrs, but not to worry call to USCIS, they tell you what to do and is quick 1800-375-5283, is free :)
one question... you both were physically present at the marriage ceremony?

Your current legal name (whether first name or married name) will go in the NAME section. In section 7 you will put any other names used, including your original first, full name, any maiden full name used. I remember us conversing about the name change before. Should be fairly simple for you. Good luck.

I do speak spanish, but it's a little rusty and it wouldn't be a great conversation. plus, I believe it's against the rules of the forum to use a language other than english in public threads (but you are more than welcome to write me a private message).
No, I never changed my name so nobody ever asked for anything. I'm just saying that since the form asks what other names you ever used (including maiden name, which, I guess, is the most common change of name scenario for the ladies that apply for AOS) you should write down the name you had before you changed. you must have some sort of official certificate stating that you changed name (unless it's just a nickname, but that doesn't count because they don't care if your friends called you Maradona because you play like hell). Then put this official certificate in the application to prove that. I don't know how the name change works for religious grounds, but if it is official and you have had them both on your passport at a certain time, then you gotta write it.

I already have my new name in all documents... Passport, Citizen ID (in my country), all certificates like: birth, marriage, etc., but like u say, ill attach court order, old and new certificate.

other NAMES used. before you changed NAME, what other NAME did you use?
how did you change? court order? enclose a copy of it and write down the name you used before.

PS. if I may ask, out of curiosity...why did you change your first name?

They sent you a form requesting that information? or in the interview?, how was it?
and i changed mi first name because i made convertion to another religion, by the way, do you speak spanish, si quieres podemos mejor hablar espanol.
