CanadaIs it possible to raise a Canadian in the US?
definitely lots of trips back up to Canada. I think there's so much stuff to see up here...especially the historic homes and activities!

I love the DVD idea with the Beach Combers...Danger Bay! ha ha ha

And there are lots of Canadian cartoons too from TV Ontario!

I have often wondered about this same topic you are discussing. Maybe giving birth to a child in Canada and then bringing them into the U.S would make it easier for them to identify that they are Canadian too?

CanadaHotel Reviews Montreal
We stayed at Hotel XIX which was a 15-20 minute walk even in the snow storm they had....we were very happy with our room. Boutique hotel in Old Montreal with many restaurants within walking distance.

Less than $115/night booked online via hotels.com

I have to say...whenever I travel for business, I always look up my destination in www.tripadvisor.com......

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresBad day at interview
I have heard that they like to see pictures where you are kissing.....that apparently helps more than regular photos....

It is also the norm if someone has been previously married to show evidence that they divorced or else they are not legally allowed to get married again.

Good luck none the less!

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)drink driving offense on police record, need a waiver???

hello,
my husband has his CR1 interview in london on wednesday and we are worried about a drink driving offense on his police record, which was from 10 years ago.
we've been told by other forum members that we might need a waiver to go along for the interview.
i have no idea what this waiver is, if we need one or if we will be denied because of this on his record.

anyone have any advice???
desperate and anxious!
2 days til our interview!!!

bee

how did everything turn out? Did you end up needing a waiver?

Hope all went well!

Cheers!

The dr. implied that dates could just be made because the infant vacinations aer done before you can attend school in Canada....

Also a lab report will show if you have those antibodies as well....

CanadaT.O (Dr. Sieden - Front St.) Medical Review
Just finished my medical and thought I would put in a review so ppl can know what to expect:

This location is 1 block east of St. Lawrence market. There is also a Starbucks 1 street north.

Got there right at 7am and there was already a line up. 3 people were ahead of me (they were 1 family). In the next few minutes, there was soon a line up behind me of 5 other people. Around 715am the office opened and we were told to have our letter and case/file # ready for the receptionist. We were told to drop it off to her and then proceed to the waiting room.

I brought a book along and glad I did as there wasn't too much to look at in the waiting room. Magazines were pretty outdated. tongue.gif

Waited there about 10 minutes before they called me and I was ushered into a registration room where the lady asked for my passport, 3 photos, vacination record and $185 CDN (this can be paid in cash or money order).

After registration, I was told do go down the coridor and sit in another waiting area for my chest x ray. It didn't take very long until it was my turn. They will ask you to remove necklaces and tie up your hair (if it is long). A make-shift gown will be given to you to use during the x ray and exam.

After the x ray, went back into the main waiting room and about 15 minutes later they called my name. I was then taken to one of the Dr's office's and told that he was seeing 2 other patients and that it would shortly be my turn. I sat there reading my book for about 10 minutes when the nurse came back and told me that I could change into the gown. 20 minutes later Dr. Seiden entered and went over a list of questions (heart murmur, diabetes, etc) and reviewed my vaccinations. Make sure that your records indicate ALL vacinnations, even the ones when you were a baby! I was missing those and told that typically they don't ask for those in Canada but because the U.S wants to know everything that we need to provide these dates. Another female Dr. then came in and did my physical while Dr. Seiden left for his next patient.

After the physical, I was told to go into the room with the sign marked 'Laboratory' where I sat and waited for 'Maria' to draw my blood. She was very nice and friendly. Did a good job of taking blood as it wasn't too painful. 2 vials were drawn.

After the blood work, I had to hand a completed check list to the receptionist and that's that! Now I just have to get back to them with my vacinnation information from infancy and that is that!

It wasn't bad at all....reading material is suggested unless you want to stare at each other in the waiting room(s). wink.gif

Hope this helps!
