Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni-751 -I am way outside the 90 day time period-Am i screwed?Help.
If you can send the forms in prior to Oct. 1, then they are not late. Even if you send in a smallish package and later get an RFE, it's better to get it in on time.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNever Ending Biometrics
My son recieved 3 biometric appointments. When we went for the second one, we were told that there was nothing wrong with the first set and they didn't do them again. A week later, we got a third notice for him to go to biometrics again!!!

It was pretty freaky, and I was afraid that they might deny him, so I contacted our Senator and a couple of days later his AOS application was approved. smile.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 delays and US Senator help - California
I had great successes with both my EAD application and my son's I-485 application. We used the US Rep for the EAD and a Senator for the green card. Both were approved within a few days of contact.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionSending more evidence!
I've seen people in here post that they have sent more evidence and it made it to their file. I am quite sure that they have an orderly filing system or it would be pure chaos, so finding a file should not be terribly difficult.

If you think about it, they get more information sent in from RFEs all the time and I think it is pretty rare that they lose the RFE items or that they don't make it into a file.

My evidence was pretty thin, but what I did send was solid. I am also considering sending more items, but I think that I will wait and see if I get a request.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionExpired green card / NOA - what to keep in wallet!
I think it's a good idea to keep the original letter at home. It's probably pretty rare that anyone just out and about is asked to show their greencard (maybe if you are arrested or something), so the letter is better off at home. Now that i think about, I often go for a jog or a walk and don't have my green card on me.....hmm, food for thought.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCan I travel - while I-751 is pending?
Well the solution is pretty simple. Make an appointment at the local office and ask for a stamp. If they woun't give you a stamp, then pick your travel locations with care.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCan I travel - while I-751 is pending?
I haven't travelled a whole lot and so haven't had the experience of having a non english speaking person at customs. Wouldn't the person at customs for planes going to the US speak English? Or am I just being dumb?

I think you should make an infopass appointment, if you plan on travelling and see if they can give you some better documentation. Worst case is that they turn you down.

I know all about paranoia. My greencard expired last Thursday (and I filed to remove conditions 2 days before that).

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhat's next after I-751 interview?
Well that's really odd. Do you have your case registered online, so you can get an email when it changes? I'd guess by his saying "you're all done", that you are approved, but I guess it is not good to get your hopes up. I don't think that they take fingerprints/photo again, unless maybe it has been quite awhile since you had them done.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionApplication Returned
QUOTE (remconds @ May 25 2009, 07:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I just read this post and I did the same thing. I dont mean to sound stupid, (Im not from the US, and I never knew this, we dont put the 00/100 on the checks where Im from) I write checks every month an they are never returned for this reason.

I just checked my bank online, and the check has not been cashed. We mailed it monday, it arrived wednesday. Is it possible that they just didnt get to it, or is it going to be returned to me?

Again, not to sound stupid, but did it say anywhere on the instructions how to write the check and I just missed it? I write checks to my banks, mortage companies, utilies etc all the time, i really never knew this.

I mailed my application on the 12th of May and the check was not cashed until this Saturday (23rd I think). The application was overnighted, so they should have gotten it on the 13th and on the front of the check, they wrote May 20th followed by some numbers. So, it seems to take them awhile to get the check processed. I did write xx/100 at the end of the written amount. In Canada, checks always had a /100 at the end of that line, in order to put in the amount of change, so it is a habit.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion751 Reject - Child's Green Card not same date as Mom
I really think that because the mother and child are within 90 days of each other, that the application should be accepted jointly. The dates ARE within 90 days of one another, even if the childs card came first. It really shouldn't matter. It sounds like they are nit picking to make some extra money.

I would contact your congressional office and see if they can straighten this out. That or send the application back in with a letter indicating that child and the mother are both in the 90 day period and you would like their application to be accepted.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion751 Reject - Child's Green Card not same date as Mom
I have heard of this before, but usually with the child being a CR 90 days after the parent. I just sent in my form, my green card expired on 05/14/2009 and my son's will expire on 08/29/2009, so I am fully expecting them to force me to file seperately for my son. All because of a two week difference in the 90 day period. I did send his biometric check seperately, just in case it somehow delayed me.

Personally I feel that it is a rip off, so if they do try to make me do that, I intend to contact my Senator's office and see if they can help me out. Seeing as my application probably won't be approved prior to my son's greencard expiring, I don't see any reason why they can't do them together.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNever Ending Biometrics - Part II
Do you think that maybe your fingerprints were possibly accepted and cleared? My son has his fingerprints done and then we received a second biometrics appointment. We went to the ASC and were told that his fingerprints were completed fine last time and to disregard the letter. Two weeks later we got another letter with another biometrics appointment. I contacted Senator Kennedy's office and they agreed to look into this matter (as the USCIS information line was not helpful). I was concerned that they might deny the application, because they couldn't seem to realise that they already had his fingerprints. The Senator's office contacted someone at CSC where the file was sitting and within a couple days it was approved. That might be the route that you want to go.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCARD PRODUCTION NOTICE RECEIVED TWO TIMES ON DIFFERENT DATES
Well, someone is manually going in and doing something to the electronic file that makes that notice come up. I've seen posts of people who had some kind of error in their online status. Maybe you will get two green cards, but I kind of think that their system would be set up not to allow that. Anyway, it's quite odd, but hopefully you will get your green card soon.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion about filing late ?
Thank you, yes the check was cashed and I have the NOA (and a few copies, that I made of it). I just suddenly became paranoid that they may grab the cash and then deny for being a day late (though it shouldn't have been). Thanks for the reassurance.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion about filing late ?
Ok, I mailed my application, overnight to VSC, but lost the delivery confirmation number. I mailed it on 05/12 and my green card expired on 05/14. Seeing as they sent me an NOA (NOA date is 05/15), I am assuming (maybe hoping), that everything is ok? Does anyone know? Can they turn around and deny the application for being late or would they have just returned the whole thing to me if they intended to do that and not process the application. Thanks!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI -751 question should I worry
It says on my NOA to use the number from the biometric letter to track the case. Did you try that number? It should begin with CRI or something like that. I don't have the letter on hand. If you check the processing time for I-751 filed to Vermont, it appears that they are working on applications from 08/2008, so if you only filed in January, you don't need to worry.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion about address used by USCIS in I-751 NOAs. Old or new in AR-11?
I filed an AR-11 online in August 2008, but did not think to copy it ( and don't have confirmation number). I did get a letter from USCIS reminding me to file my I-751, but I tossed it out and can't recall if it was sent to my old address or not (we have mail forwarding for a year I think). I filed my I-751 2 weeks ago, using my new address as the mailing address and received my NOA today (addressed to the new address). I am pretty sure that they send the information about a new application to the address used on that application, rather than to any older addresses that they may have on file.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion about address used by USCIS in I-751 NOAs. Old or new in AR-11?
If you used your new address on the latest application, then mail from USCIS should go to the new address. The reminder letter may be sent as part of your old application and thus go to the old address.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751: 3 "Card Production Ordered" Notices!!! (and still no 10yr card)
I think that they are approved. It is happening to a bunch of people adjusting status too, approved but no card. I am pretty sure that I have seen posts by people saying that when they contacted USCIS they were told that they are changing and/or moving their computer system and this is why there is a delay in getting the card. But really, they should issue some sort of press release, so people are aware of what is happening.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHelp! I forgot to include actual i751 form!
They are going to examine your packet, probably within a few days, so it should not take all the long for it to get back to you. Mail it back ASAP. I suppose that you could prepare a whole new package and mail it out Monday, but that seems like a lot of work and would be a pain if they cashed your check and started processing the other package (though I am pretty sure they don't). If you don't get your NOA prior to your trip, make an infopass appointment and try to get his green card stamped.

We tried to get a joint bank account, but it's impossible because my wife's credit is terrible. Citibank flat out refused to get us one, so we never tried again. She never had a credit card, and I just got my first one a couple of months ago. As for health, my wife is on her parent's health plan, and I get mine through work. As I said, we are really young. Should I write about all those reasons in my RFE statement?

Try getting a bank of america account online. They don't check with chex system or whatever it is called so it is easier to get than most other banks. Did she try getting a savings account (joint)? That should not be too hard.

Another suggestion, if you pay any bills in your wifes name out of your bank account, you can send proof of that.
