Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI think my I-751 application was returned... :-(
Well that is really too bad. But the bright side would be that because you filed so early, you have plenty of time to refile if you need too. But still I know it would a disappointment. MY AOS application was returned and it wasn't a nice feeling.

It would depend on our financial situation.

If we needed money (not wanted, but needed), I would expect him to take a less than desirable job (at least part time), while looking for something that he would really like to do. Otherwise, I would not have a problem with him not working (as long as he was looking), until he found a job he wanted.

Middle East and North AfricaWhat would you do
It would depend on our financial situation and if we could afford it. If we needed more cash for rent/food, I'd expect him to find some sort of temp work while looking for a job he really wanted. It would also depend on if he was secretly lazy and didn't really wan to work at all.

Middle East and North AfricaPersonal Attacks?
There are always a few people who will get very vocal about their opinions and some of them became down right obnoxious. Then there is the crowd that feels the need to attack the attacker. If negative posts bother someone, they should simply ignore them (as many, many people do) and focus on the positive. Those who enjoy a conflict, can carry on.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurescan anybody please help us
Here's the Fairfield town hall inf,

I'd maybe call the clerk there and explain the situation, they may be able to advise you better,
as they've probably dealt with this before.

Marriage License Town Clerk, Old Town Hall 256-3090

Getting Married in Connecticut
The Marriage License

The marriage license may be obtained in one of the couple's towns of residence or in the town where the marriage will take place.

It could possibly be amended, however your friend may have to answer as to why she sent in
the incorrect information. The may view it as a simple mistake (which it very well may have been).

I've looked it up. A marriage certificated in Connecticut can be corrected or amended to change incorrect information. So call the town hall and get it straightened out.

It sounds to me as if your "marriage certificate" has the correct place of marriage on it.

I don't think itt matters what the license says. USCIC wants the marriage certificate.

Does the marriage certificate say you were married in "Fairfield".?

If it does, it sounds correct to me.

For example, I picked up my marriage license in Billerica Massachusetts, and then was married in Sudbury Massachusetts. The person who married us sent the lincense back to the Billerica town hall and we picked up the Certificate there - certificate states we were married in Sudbury, which is correct.

I think in many states (if not all), you don't need a license from the specific town you are marrying in. I could have been married anywhere in the Commonwealth of Mass, however it is recorded at the town hall where I obtained the license.

We filed as married last year, it was actually really easy to get an ITIN. Was no hassle at all, of course we are only 30 mins from a IRS office so we didn't need to have the docs certified, but the form itself was no huge deal and I only had to show my passport as id.

Lol.

That's pretty funny. On a off note, I was posting in another forum and someone was ranting about how it was illegal to come to the US from another country and get married.

I said "no it isn't, my niece just did it last week". And the response of course was that it was "illegal"
.

Anyway she and her Canadian fiance had flown to Las Vegas, got married and went home after the weekend.

I wonder if all these people from out of country getting married in Las Vegas are aware that what they are doing is "illegal".

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance for a 17 years old..
1-Can they do it because of their ages? (Remember we and her parents can sing if it were necessary)

Check with the state laws on marriage - they might be able to get married under 18 depends on the laws though.
Also check out the link for the Guide and then K-1, I don't know if an under 18 person can qualify for a K-1.

2-Who can make him an affidavit, can it be done for a friend of us?

for affidavit of support? Anyone can be a co-sponsor, they don't need to be a relative.

3-He never thought he will have to prove his love, and then he has a lot of pictures/letter/postcards of her everywhere but he did not keep any envelop. How can he prove his love….he will go next March, what can he do to help that process?

Verification of travel - ticket stubs for plane, passpart etc, they can bring affidavits from people who know them both, bring in the other items too. Pictures of them together.

4-She does not have any relative in US, is that good or bad for that process?

This makes no difference.

The father is obviously a control freak. She needs some serious counselling because there is no way on earth that she should feel any guilt over this. If she is not aware that her father has issues and she is not going to stand up to him, your married life together is in jeopardy.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMarrying in USA on a B1
You can file the K-1 while you are still visiting, but you will need to go back home to deal with the processing of it and take care of things. I came to the US in the summer of 2005 as a visitor, was married in the fall and am adjusting my status from tourist based on my marriage. This way is a lot faster for me than to go back home, file a K-3 and then come back on a VISA. Each situation is unique though. We decided that we would live in the US, rather than Canada (as was originally planned), so this was the best way for us.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFIANCEE WANTS TO RETURN TO KOREA!!
As I read through the thread, it becomes obvious that you DON'T trust him, but you keep saying that you DO trust him (and love him). It seems obvious that you do not trust him and just as obvious that you have very good reason NOT to trust him. He is the one who should be apologizing, not you. He's proven himself to be a major liar. That doesn't go away overnight or with apologies. It'll take time to build trust back between the two of you. Frankly, I'd be scared to leave my country and put all my faith in this guy. He speaks of ALLOWING you to return to Korea and fear of losing you. There seems to be insecurities and control issues there that might be serious. Once you are in the US, you are pretty dependent upon him. He may decide that his lying wasn't such a big deal then and his attitude about it may change.

I'm not tryng to bash your fiancee in anyway - but are you 100% certain that she was not aware of the marriage and aware that she had a husband? You'd know this better than anyone here.

If she was aware she was married and this story is some sort of cover up (which will be told to immigration officials who are bound to be suspicious of it, just as we in this forum are) - then it could be very bad for your immigration process if she is determined to be lying.

Tnx, you just gave all of the horny young men a justification to not control themselves.

The girl was a girl. She was too young to understand. He did. He pays the price. Justice done (well kinda).

Well I reccommend all the horny 19 years print out this thread. They can tell the judge that someone online, said that they think that 19 years have poorer judgement than 50 year olds and use that as a defence. Seeing as my personal opinion on the matter justifies their behavior, then there is no way that it would not work as a defence.

It's nice being godlike.

Well personally I have less of an issue with a 19 year old having sex with a consenting 15 year old, then some old guy, lets say 40 (maybe even 30s) plus having sex with an 18 year old or a very young woman, lets say under 22. At least the 19 year old guy might have the excuse of not knowing better and not having the best judgement.
