K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F December Filers?
This is my second time through the K1 process and the first time was so smooth, I got spoiled. 80 days for NOA2 last time, and of course that was just long enough for the relationship to fall apart. This time, the relationship is so much stronger, so much better...and now we're waiting over 5 months for this stupid thing! I wrote to my Congressmen over the weekend, and I'll be calling the service center today after work. I keep thinking, "ok, today must be the day..." but still nothing.

Was really hoping to hear something this week, not looking good now. I'll be writing my Congressman tomorrow, probably won't help but you never know! I'm just impatient. 7 months apart is starting to really kill me.

A few days after she gets here you can go to any Social Security Office and apply for a number. It's very easy.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F approved, NVC did not receive case

Your case may have been mistakenly sent to National Record Center (NVC); a storage facility for USCIS inactive file.
My case was approved on April 30 and was never received by National Visa Center (NVC). After so many email exchanges with USCIS and NVC, I was notified that my case was located at NRC instead of NVC. I am still awaiting the case to be sent back to USCIS for another review and approval then to NVC. There is no processing time available so it can take another 5 months. I wish you good luck with your case.

You should get your Congressperson involved. There is no reason you should have to wait for an additional review because they made a mistake. Your petition was approved already. Don't wait on them, they don't care!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F approved, NVC did not receive case
I'm in the same boat. Almost 5 weeks since our approval and NVC hasn't seen anything yet. The CSC is more than unhelpful, probably because it's all their fault. I've emailed everyone under the sun and so far it hasn't done anything. NVC has asked me to stop calling and just wait for them to email me back..yeah, right. Everything was fine until May and then suddenly USCIC started holding petitions after the got approved. This is supposed to be the fast part of this process and it's maddening that this is happening. How hard is it to mail paper from one branch of the government to another????

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the exact steps in this? Am I missing something? + will we get in faster?
If your NOA was Jan 2nd, that's basically your place in line. Doesn't matter what you did before.

Fiances allowed at the interview varies from embassy to embassy, check with them. Or check the info here in the embassy section.

I thought you had 90 days from NOA2 to set an interview. I could be wrong.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApplied Before, problem?
Nope, you're even past the 2 year waiver period. Should not be an issue at all.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Visa - Missed the two year deadline by 5 days?
The government doesn't cut anyone any slack. You'll probably get a RFE to ask for a waiver. It'll add a few weeks to your wait, but that's all.
David & YulyaMaleRussia2012-01-21 04:42:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSkype call logs
Proof of ongoing relationship is only needed for the interview. For the USCIS you need to show proof that you two have met within the last two years, e.g. boarding passes, receipts, passport stamps, photos...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs 130 pages of Sype to many to send in I-129 Packet???
Moscow isn't concerned with proof of an ongoing relatioship? Good to know! I won't waste my time collecting and sending too much then.
David & YulyaMaleRussia2012-03-23 05:51:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIncreased processing estimates
We're heading into the months where typically things move much faster. December-April historically sees not as many petitions as in the summer and fall months. 5 month waits turn into 3 months...again, based on the last few years. Anything could, can and does happen however. Updated timelines or lack thereof will show estimated dates going all over the place. I usually only check once a day, but yesterday I happened to check three times and had three different dates. Things should smooth out soon, hopefully!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresfinancial support question
Last year I was unemployed for nearly 4 months and my total earnings don't met the 125% However, in December I found a new job and now make well over the amount needed. I was going to send my last two years tax returns, to show that last year was not normal. I also have a letter from my current job and will send 2 months worth of pay stubs to show my current income. Is this going to be an issue or am I ok?

Thanks!

Yeah I assume, if the website says approved, then we have nothing to worry about. Just strange to get an email the next day saying we'll get an answer sometime in the next 21 days. But that's the government for you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReceived a confusing email today
Last night I checked the USCIS website and it states my K1 petition was approved. Still have not received an email or sms on the matter.

I had emailed the CSC a few days earlier asking for status update, never thinking I would get a response. Well, just now I did receive a response which says I should hear an answer regarding my petition in 21 days.

So, this is just another case of someone at the USCIS not knowing what's going on, right? I mean, the website says approved, so it must mean approved. Am I thinking too much into this?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Exam question
The hospital lost my fiancee's records. So she'll need to get new vaccinations. She was told she only needs two, but one is given in two doses and need to be a month apart from each other. We were hoping to get her interview before then. Is it true the vaccinations are only required for the AOS and not for the visa itself? Therefore, she would be able to get them here in the US?
David & YulyaMaleRussia2012-07-12 13:56:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProblem with medical!
My fiancee had her medical today and they found something they didn't like in her blood work. They said it's no problem, but she will need a series of 3 vaccinations over the next 3 weeks. Our interview is scheduled for the 25th, they told her it is still ok to go to the interview, just to tell them the medical is not complete yet and when the vaccinations are finished they will forward the results to the Embassy. The doctor told her they do this a few times a month, that it is fairly common. However, she is really nervous about not having everything 100% before the interview. I've told her we could reschedule if it would make her feel better, but we are both really unsure about the best course of action. Does anyone have any advice on this matter?? it would be greatly appreciated!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPeople make up your mind before bringing someone here!!
I really think this is just a lot of useless complaining. Yes, we all want to be with our loved ones as soon as possible. And there are thousands of people waiting for visas. Are some of them rushing into things? Well, probably. But how many people rush into things and get married without the need of a visa? Love and the emotions around it are intense. Relationships don't always work. Telling someone they should think more before they apply, or they should try harder because a relationship fell apart...just seems silly to me. We all have to wait, we all spend the money and it shouldn't be anyone else's business. We are free to do whatever we want, get married to someone I met tomorrow, or apply for a visa and get married whenever the process is over. Yes waiting sucks, but everyone does it and it will not change.

QUESTION 1:

Is the "INCOME" stated in the I-134 form "GROSS" or "NET" income???

because if i count my annual GROSS income.. i can exceed the poverty guideline
but if i count my NET income, i fall short of that guideline

QUESTION 2:

i am living in a house with my older brother, one cousin and one uncle.. all of them are independent and has work.
i plan on leaving to rent an apartment once my wife comes..

do i still count the people im living with right now under household size?? or should i not because i am clearly not supporting them??

but its not over yet!

i feel 100% we will get that police clearance.
may it be before or after the interview takes place, it wont matter as much to us
just as long as we know it wont be as lengthy as getting one from RCMP

our major concern right now is if the USEmbassy in Manila would actually accept it.
eventhough i cant imagine why not

CanadaPOLICE CLEARANCE FROM CANADA
OK. this just in. :reading:

after 23 hours of surfing the net non-stop for different police stations and fingerprinting companies i can call across Canada..
i think i may have found a solution to my problem!

i called IFS, Commissionaires, RCMPs 3 differenct detachments, 6 different police stations.. ill just say i called em all
maybe even dialed a wrong number and got your house by mistake :jest:

they all told me "nope, nope, nope.. we cant help you.. you have to do a finger print check with RCMP",
"right now i'd say it will take 6-8 months to process"

*FAINT* :crying:

i gave up during that time.. and left my chair which i had patented with my butt mark!

i thought about sleeping but a PM popped up on the screen of my laptop and i was back on my warm chair with the mouse in my hand!

it was a pm from vanee here in VJ. we talked a bit till she mentioned about winnipeg police station..
yup the same one flames9 was talking about. then it hit me, "OMG, i forgot all about that police station"

it was on my list of police stations to call. i did call them but a machine always picks up. so i thought to call em back
at another time but never got to it because it slipped my mind. good thing vanee made me remember!

so i called em up again.. with all hope that was left in me.. !%$%$# MACHINE AGAIN :dead:
good thing i wasnt in the mood to just call it quits
i went back online clicked the link to the winnipeg police station vanee gave me
looked at their hours of operation (clearly they were open)
looked for different numbers i could call
saw one...
dialed...
woman answered.. we started talking
*conversation*
"ok thank you, bye"

 :o  :bonk:
turns out stupid me had the wrong number!!
i had the number for the "after-hours"

after a raised brow that i gave myself while looking at my reflection in the mirror
i called up the "right" number
and alas, my salvation began....

they told me that they could cater to our situation!!! :joy:
REJOICE!!!

all we need to do is fill up some forms,
attach 2 IDs and the $30 Fee
and mail it to them.
if we do this correctly and in a timely fashion
we may have the results in time for my wifes interview!
no more 221-g weeeeeee

to good to be true, AYE? ;)

Cheers,
Ryan

CanadaPOLICE CLEARANCE FROM CANADA
i read about someone who wasnt in canada that got her police clearance by asking her father to go to a police station and file on her behalf.. she provided 2 IDs and a authorization letter to her father..

can i use this method to get my wifes police clearance?

i would do anything to avoid filing fingerprints to the RCMP because the RCMP takes too long to process

CanadaPOLICE CLEARANCE FROM CANADA
Greetings fellow VJers!

I have a big big problem! Let me explain my situation first..

I am from Cleveland, Ohio USA.. and my Wife is from Manila, Philippines.
I have filed my petition I-129F for my Wife on december 2006 and everything has gone smoothly up to this day.

She recieved her interview appointment letter a few weeks back.
She managed to complete all the documents needed for her interview to held on July 12, 2007.. which is a month away!
We were excited as hell that in a month we would be done with all this and finally seeing each other again
would be a plane ticket away..

All is well and good until she told me the bad news just yesterday!

she didnt realize and probably overlooked the fact
that she needed one last document......... A POLICE CLEARANCE FROM CANADA!!!
she completely forgot about the document! suprisingly i did too.. no blames pls. we know what we did wrong!
she and her family went to canada using a tourist visa and they were in the process of immigrating there..
they stayed there for a year (she was 16 years old to 17 years old.. talk about bad luck!)
but they had to go back to the philippines because of some family problems so they stopped the process.

I told her not to panic as i confidently told her that i'll find a way to get it before her interview next month..
Little did i know how hard its going to be to get that piece of paper!!

I searched and i searched.. i dug my way through this forums inside and out.. but i couldnt find the
answers i've been looking for.. that is why im posting right now hoping someone out there can answer me..
and shed some light and support on our path that is now blocked by a huge obstacle.

Let me first tell you guys what i do know..:

1. K3 applicants just need a Police Clearance Check by name and birth date that should be Canada Wide using the CPIC

2. The RCMP requires you to file a finger printing test to get a police clearance if you live outside of canada (eventhough you dont actually need the said test)

3. The results will take 2 months - 12 months to process (OMG.. *FAINT*!)

4. http://www.immihelp.com/immigration/police-certificates.html - this site states that we only need a name check based police clearance and not a finger print based. and that filing to the RCMP is just a waste of time.

5. we dont need a finger print based check because my wife has no criminal record, so a name based check is sufficient

6. my Wife has no way of going back to Canada.

Is there someone out there that could help us?? we are trying to find out a way of getting a name based police check
without having to use the long process of finger printing blah blah blah.. we cant afford to lose another 2-12 months!
also the interview is in a month.. this suxx.. im so stressed out.. im spacing out at work.. my minds completely fixated
on finding a solution to this problem.. is there any developments out there towards getting a police clearance from canada.
i think its the hardest police clearance to get in the whole world..

PLS SAVE US.. thanks you kindly!

To the VJ Family,

First, let me say right now, that if I forget anyone in this post, please hold it against my head and not my heart. This has been one emotional yet exciting journey, and although it is far from over, I am just glad we got through the interview. So, now that I have come down off my Visa approval high, and had some sleep, there a few people that I feel compelled to acknowledge with special thanks.

First, Zeenusah. If you don’t already work for USCIS you need to change your profession. Your attention to detail and unrelenting commitment to giving unbiased and solid information is above and beyond reproach. Zee, our paths may never cross, but you will not be forgotten.

Next, Lisa (KNL) you were one of the first people I talked with on the website. You and I shared a lot of personal stories as well as cheering one another on to what are now successful reunions with our SO’s. I wish you all the best of everything. Let’s keep in touch.

Pushbrk….man…you are another one that should work for USCIS. I could always count on you to give accurate and unwavering advice.

Zainab…we met later in the game, but you kept me from going insane during my meltdown towards the end. Your sense of humor got me through what I thought was going to be a disaster. Thank you for keeping it real!

AsanteMaroon…AKA Superwomen…Go Head Mama! Thank you for coming out of sabbatical with your new hubby when I needed you.

Yoda1165…man you are awesome. I want everyone to know Greg is a praying man and stayed up with me all night Sunday night. I can’t say enough about what you did. I know you sick of me but you are too nice to say it. LOL!!!

I’mMrs.Akindel… another prayer warrior. You are fierce and I know good things will be coming your way very soon.

Quietstorm…you silly!!! (phone call) Get you butt on over to Ghana and get your man.

LovinLiberia, Brownsugarhoney and K&A….you ladies are my cheering section. The text messages and PM’s got me through. Thank you so much.

Last but definitely not least. Omoba & Unononehigher.. My heart broke when I read your stories. I felt so helpless, because I felt there was nothing that I could say that would make either of you feel better or change your situation. So, I will just say this: Omoba I know you have heard a lot of well wishes, advice and encouragement. But I can’t help but feel that you and Stephen’s journey is far from over. And Unononehigher, something tells me that you have got the situation under control!!! You both are at a level that I must admit I do not know if I have reached. I often wondered what I would do if our visa was denied. My first inclination was to just never to post again, because I thought I would be too embarrassed. But you guys have shown me, that even the midst of adversity you continue to help others. Now that’s truly living like Christ.

To the entire VJ family. With your prayers and help my journey is now a reality. We greet people face to face everyday and sometimes not with a smile. Yet, it is amazing how people from different cultures, races, religions and places can come together on a website for a common cause……LOVE. I only ask that God continues to use me in thy service and if this is how He wants me to be used I am right where I need to be.

With the most sincerest respect for each and every one of you,

Erika & Samuel
