United KingdomThe 2009 United Kingdom Interview Thread!
It seems that most of the difficulties are encountered by non UK nationals who are going through the London Embassy though. Is that accurate?

So looking at the Interview list compiled on this thread, has anyone ever been denied from London?

I believe that London actually takes a picture of your passport pics to put in their computers (weirdly) so the size really is not crucial. Give them what you've got or you can trim them to fit the specifications, it is not a big deal. I believe that info about how to pay for the visa will be sent with you appointment letter. London has many approvals. They are more worried about the affidavit of support then anything. So as long as the medical is clear, no criminal records, and you are fully sponsored then you should be pretty ok barring anything unforeseen.

United KingdomMedical Exam

He has convictions from the 1980's and early 90's. No drug charges ever, 1 dui from 20 years ago, and the rest were assault & a GBH sec 20. All fist fights. He never served jail time and received either a small fine or community service. The UK makes you bring the police certificate to the medical appointment.

She did drill him about all the convictions and also asked him 3 times if he ever did drugs. He said "listen, I never did drugs, drugs were not my thing, and I don't plan on starting now at 48 years old. I hung around with a bunch of lads at the pub when I was younger and punch ups were a weekly occurence." He hasn't been in trouble in a very, very long time but they still want him to repent and rake him through the coals. Now he must have a mental problem associated with harmful behavior that happened while Regan was president!!

I am losing faith in this country by the minute! Do they realize what kind of people are already here illegally??? Try and do things the legal way and all you get is scrutiny..I am so angry at this system I could spit bullets.

It probably was the DUI that did it then (although it is old). They are going to evaluate if he has a drinking problem. If he had more then one DUI he might need a waiver.

United KingdomMedical Exam

I am not usually one to ask questions on here anymore being a member who has been in this process longer than I'd care to admit, but I need help.

My husband had his medical exam on friday. His interview is this coming Friday. He was drilled on his police certificate for 40 minutes and the end result was that he has to have a Psychological Evaluation before the panel physician will forward his medical results to the embassy. She wants to make sure he doesn't have a mental condition associated with harmful behavior..

How long will this hold up the denial notice from the embassy, because I can't file the waiver without the denial first! What can we expect to happen at the interview? Should my husband explain what the hold up with the medical results are all about? Does CDC have to get involved with this?

I am seriously in panic mode right now, so personal experience or knowledgeable input only please.

(and yes, I am going to contact a lawyer this week but I want some enlightenment on this subject)

Thanks, I appreciate it..

Does he have any previous convictions? Drug use? Arrests? I don't see why the medical exam would really care about the police certificate, they are two different things. Did he have his medical files sent from his primary physician? Was there a history of self harm or something that would trigger that?

Well you'll need a way to get there first. Typically you would need a company transfer or a very specialized skill to qualify for a work based visa.

I don't think you need that much. A passport, a return ticket and enough money which would cover you for the length of your trip would be sufficient.

United KingdomDoes a CO SPONSOR use I-134 or I-864 in London Embassy?

I am filling out the I-134 form to try and sponsor myself, and then having my mother as a backup... She is a sure thing as a sponsor with either income or assets...

I will try anything to not have my mother be a sponsor... she is retired and I dont like the idea of her being responsible for "my" responsibilities!

I have recalculated my yearly income since my last post, because I left a significant chunk out of my calculations (splitting the surplus in the business account between my sister and I at the end of each year). I am self employed... I own/rent/manage an industrial property with my sister. Out of the past ten years we had just over one year without a tenant in our building (mid 2009-end 2010) due to the economy taking a dump on everybody in 08'... My tax returns for the past 2 years will show a loss ( due to lost rent, and improvements to building for new tenants)...

my personal 2012 tax return will show my annual income as 43k with no loss now that my sister and I have regathered ourselves and our business... If i was to calculate, and project my years salary as the period between August, 2012 and August, of 2013(at current monthly income) I will show 50k per year due to increased income that started in August 2012... I am sending 6 years of tax returns, both personal and business, and a tax projection for 2012(professionally done by quality accountants) to show that I was earning upwards of 50k a year, except the 1 1/2 year time period after our old tenants abandoned the building in 09' ... It will have been re-rented for 2 years this december with a 5 year lease. My income will increase every year due to the rents being increased each year (written into the lease contract)... I am trying to throw plenty of documents their way to show that my loss of income was based on the economy crash... I want to be able to show the CO (thankfully they know where to look on the returns, so it should be easy for them to verify) that I have a history of significant income, and 30k in savings despite the problems we had for that short span. I will include 10 months of deposited checks showing income, savings bank statements with 30k, monthly statements/notarized letter from my property manager with explanation and documentation of monthly cash flow. I will also include basic documentation of the value of my building (High value, with very low mortgage ) just to show it as a significant asset...

Even with all of this I feel my 2010-2011 tax returns are going to screw me over! aaaaahhhhhh!!!

Any thoughts on my "revised income along with six years of tax returns" scenario would be appreciated.

They will go by the most recent tax returns first, but it is very subjective according to the adjucator. The I-134 is not a binding agreement. So if you wanted you could use her as your cosponsor right now to get you through the visa process. Then for AOS hopefully your finances may be in better order and you can adjust status with the legally binding I-864 all by yourself.

United KingdomHusband here from K-1 Visa for 1 year. We want to move to UK.

Actually as of yesterday all petitions which do not meet the financial requirements but meet all other requirements are being put on hold. You will need at least 18,000 pounds in UK income.

United KingdomHusband here from K-1 Visa for 1 year. We want to move to UK.

Hello all,

My husband has been here for over a year on his K-1 Visa. We were wondering if it is at all an option to consider moving to the UK.

He would immediately be able to get his old job back at 10k pounds a year. We would be able to live at his parents until we got grounded / I found a job.

Is this possible?

This would be an unwise move if you plan on living again in the US anytime soon. Ideally you would file for removal of conditions, then citizenship and then you can leave. Otherwise you will need to apply for a spousal visa and pay everything to come back over should you let your greencard go with non residency.

Chinastress in relationship?
I don't think that this is totally a cultural thing. First thing, you said you would do something and you didn't, which is not acceptable in any culture-especially for the one you love. She wants to know you think of her, even when you aren't talking to her. Also, and I know this is true for me as well. I like to have something that I can look at such as a note or a card, that I can take to work, keep in my purse, or next to my bed to read when I missed my husband. There is something about holding the actual paper that he touched and took the time to write on that is more tangible than the spoken word.

AP is for US entry.

What the OP is asking is that China checks before you leave there that you are going to be able to get into wherever you are going with proper documents. Therefore the OP wants to know if China will deem AP sufficient to go back to the US?

Asia: SouthFacing problem regarding date of birth and name on Birth Certificate

Fill the G-325A with the date that's in the passport, and send in a notarised copy of the 10th-Class certificate.

As for the original BC--take that with you when you go to the US; a copy of it will be needed for the AOS.

ok I'm confused. I thought the point was for Sam not to use the original BC in the US? He will either need to get a new one with the 10th certificate's info or get an affidavit. Question, what does he need to show in the USA to get a DL?
