Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionEvidence for ROC

I have one more question guys! Since the lease of our apt gone missing, should I explain it in the Cover Letter ? - I would replace the copy of the lease agreement with copies of our DL's showing the same address of our apt. (?)
Thanks!

I suggest you do what I did. Go the the apt complex and either have them or their corporate offices draft a formal letter on their letterhead. They should have some record of you somewhere that you stayed there during a specific time table. So just have them write a formal letter and sign it.

My Letter states the following:

Date

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to serve as proof of residency for Person A and Person B. Person A was a resident of (Address) from Month/Year to Month/year. Person B was added to the lease in Month/Year and vacated with his wife(her husband) on month/date.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with further questions.

Thanks,

Person

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhat do you all think of my list of evidence?

Thanks so much everyone! We don't have life insurance yet as we have no kids yet :star:

Life insurance has nothing to do with having kids. If you house a spouse they should be your beneficiary in case something happens to you. Most companies I think offer some type of life insurance so I would look into it.

Don't worry about having too much evidence, worry about having not enough. Looks good.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 Cover letter / Evidence

I am preparing my I-751 file and I have some questions about papers that I print out fron the internet.

Can I print out statement from Fidelity (401K)to prove beneficiary? Is it acceptable? Or I have to call Fidelity to get a statement from them?
Same thing for pension, life insurance beneficiary, I could only log on to my company website and print them. Is this OK?

I used a combination of printed statements and website prints. Good luck!

Haha, I found one more piece of evidence. I forgot hubby was on car loan statement so I included that. Also got my last piece of evidence (affidavit) in mail from friend today so it's now signed, sealed and heading to post office tomorrow.

US Citizenship General DiscussionNeed help with N-400 application Part 7 - Time outside the US
I figured that was the case, but I am still a bit uneasy about it. I just wish they had it in writing somewhere. I called USCIS to confirm, but they said they couldn't answer this question and I would have to consult an attorney. It's ridiculous for them not to answer this question.

US Citizenship General DiscussionNeed help with N-400 application Part 7 - Time outside the US
Hi,

I am filling out my N-400 application based on being married and having my green card for 3 years. Part 7 asks about the number of trips and days spent outside the US in the last 5 years. My issues with this question is that prior to July 2004 I was living in the US on a student visa, then I returned to my home country for almost a year, and was back to the US with a fiance visa in june of 2005. Do I put that as time outside of the US even though this was all on non-immigrant visa?

If you were in a similar situation, please share about how you filled out your form.
Thanks!

Canadaanother fee on day of interview?
You do not pay another 350 fee.. they make you pay that upfront online as you book your appointment. (this also includes the DHL fees to send your visa back to you if you are approved)
At woking you pay 350 by bank draft or money order only. they do not take cash or cheques or credit.

Since you stated you already paid for them, you are fine unless your from another country other than canadian citizen.
I just came back from my Interview and medical 2 weeks ago at Vancouver and was approved.

Arrived at 9 30 in morning (appointment was at 10) and was done by 12 30 after lunch. Most of time was standing in line, and sitting waiting.
The actual interview was maybe 10 min long. Very nice young girl doing interview and she asked the standard questions, then said congratulations. that was it.

Remember, do NOT bring any phones, bags, purses, they will not let any of those items in. Only thing i took with me was my packets and what the medical gives you, and they will stamp DO NOT OPEN on their envelopes you give at interview.

CanadaLetter to bring to medical?
I took the letter that states "we are happy to advise you that we have begun processing you K-1 visa" which tells you to book your appointment at consulate.
It has your case number at the bottom.
I just showed them that and done. they give it right back to you

CanadaKinder Suprise
Yup, they are banned.. you used to be able to for gifts, but even now, you cant. A 2 year old choked and died in states some years back, so they wont let them in now. Its amazing some of the wierdest things they confiscate at the border.

This post is too funny.... I as well met my fiance online, but we were playing COV/COH (City of Heroes and Villians) Met 5 years ago through a friend of mine playing and being in a big guild. We had been waiting for SWTOR last couple years and have been playing from beta to live. Having a blast and the storylines are awsome and entertaining.

CanadaPOE experience
Well, im in Chicago now.. (Which is awsome btw!!! havent shopped so much in a couple years, lol) Heading to Cleveland later today.
Wanted to let others know experience at POE.
First I have to say all the panicking I did ended up for not! (since i had a refusal at border previously on a visit)
Crossed at Pembina border (Manitoba, south of Winnipeg, North Dakota)
Arrived approx 1 pm. Had my packet on my lap when officer asked "where you from?" Fiance said "Cleveland"
BG "and you?" looking at me
ME "from Winnipeg, I am here to hand over my packet for K-1 and my entry Visa"
BG "oh great, ok, (smiling) can you give me your packet"

I handed over the "DONT OPEN" packet and BG asked us to go park and go inside
Went inside and another guy already had the packet opened and was on computer.
Waited for a couple min and he said "ok there are a couple things before you can be let in"
ME.. in my brain (OMG IM NOT GOING IN>> #### !! Im missing stuff)

BG "you must get married within 90 days, and you have to file this this and this when your done"
BG " I need 6 dollars for your I-94"

Fiance hands over the cash.
BG stamps my Visa
BG "welcome to America"

DONE!! was all of 15 min, didnt check all the junk I had in the car, we just drove off! lol
Was the best experience I could hope for, and I hope this alleveiate some fears some of you have, like I had.
I overworried and it was all fine.

CanadaEstablishing credit score in US for Canadians
My experience was a little lucky, and this may help for some. As a canadian, you can (hopefully still, was a couple years ago) easily get a Macy's card. They accept canadians (specially in Hawaii with all the snowbirds) with canadian social insurance card. Then when I got my SS #, i had them tranfer my account to my SS# number which started credit history right away. I had that one for about 6 months, then was able to get a Visa with about a thousand limit. Now after a few years, my credit rating is close to 800. Which is great. That will help when I need to get a car here.
I would call Macys and ask them if that still applies since you can still use your canadian credit to start.

Congrats!!! What a relief when the process is all over "EH"! LOL
CentaursLadyFemaleCanada2012-03-16 08:42:00
Canadaapproved visa, could i be denied at airport entry?
I had denial at border as well before we did our K1. I was worried about crossing as well, but it was a mute point. Had no issues at all. The POE officer asked me why I had a denial before and I said, "not enough ties".. that was it. End of convo.
My crossing took all of 10 min. Was very painless.
I have to say.. for me, anyway. I thought the female POE's the rudest and the males, easy to get along with. But that was just my experience.

CanadaProof of relationship for interview
I dont think it will be an issue. I hadn't seen my fiance since we started the K visa process, and had nothing to take to interview other than what we already had submitted. Interviewer never asked at all for anything more. Basic questions, and that was it.
CentaursLadyFemaleCanada2012-04-13 10:18:00
CanadaMedical results? lol
Yup, they would notify you at the medical if you didnt pass and what you needed. In the line up of about 40 people the day I had mine done.. there were two people that didnt pass. They call you up, give your little "DO NOT OPEN" packet and your off.
You will hand that packet in to the consulate officer that takes you to your interview.
Funny thing I noticed during that event. When I handed it in, office took it and put the disk through a machine. He had a new trainee with him that was trying to put disk in machine and was trying it upside down. I had a chuckle. I mentioned something funny and they laughed, and I asked them if that machine reads that disk that quick. They said "yup" I mean it wasnt in a disk drive or anything.. just a scanner. Wowed me.

CanadaPOE Yesterday, April 16
Congrats!!!!! For getting across without any problems, AND your upcoming wedding!! My most major sigh of relief was getting across that border! My crossing at Manitoba/ND has been notorious for trouble on both sides of crossing. They are often in the news.
I only had a car full of stuff, and was suprised that they never even checked anything. They would have seen lots of HP sauce, Fleichmens rising yeast (american stuff just does not get fluffy enough) and half a back seat of Old Dutch potato chips and a huge bag of Canadian chocolate bars!! (Which my man ate the last one yesterday  )

CanadaPre-Interview Jitters
Yup, even I was a nervous wreck for weeks before my interview! I was ALWAYS checking my paperwork... double checking.. triple, checking even up till Midnight, night before my interview... I am also always nervous about things going smoothly and right. My interview also was only about 5 min. Woman was asking me a couple questions while she was typing in computer. After that she said "congratulaions and Merry Christmas" (was 3 weeks before Christmas)
I was like "thats it? Im approved?" she laughed at me as well and said, "yup, your done"
5 min actual talking and almost 3 hours total in line and waiting. Sheesh. I was in a daze after it was done. Like massive wieght all of a sudden off the shoulders.
As long as you have all your documents and paperwork, you wont have a problem.
Good luck :)

CanadaI-129F/K1 Request For Evidence: What's your experience?
Could be any number of things. When he gets the letter, it will specify what you need. I had one and it was for more evidence of the "LAST" meeting we had. Weird. Anyway, we didnt have anymore than what we had ALREADY sent, so we re-sent what we gave orgianlly and extra reciepts of credit card transactions of the visit. They also asked us to send letter of how we met. So USC wrote a 1 page letter of our journey and had it notorized. (was only 5$ to have it done)
We got our NOA2 10 days after mailing RFE in.

CanadaCanada Immigration and K1 Guide for Vancouver
Good work!! This was pretty much how it went for me for the Vancouver consulate. If you are going to Woking medical clinic, make sure you have in advance, your payment in money order or bank draft. I did this before I went since your medical starts at 6 am and they will take that from you early. So if you dont have it ready, its difficult to run around to do it. I did the medical and interview in two days. Flew in to Vancouver in evening, got myself versed on exactly where to go and times. Medical next morning ( I didnt do interview same day, just in case)and I was there till noon and then had to come back at 2pm to pick up the "Do not open" packet they give you. So your day is half done with all that. Then my interview was next morning. I looked over my package a hundred times in hotel room, lol.

I have to note, for me, I had everything in order as they state, but when I was doing the interview, she had me put everything in a DIFFERENT order, go figure.
You will get all your originals back (bc, police check, immunization list) when you get your package from DHL along with your passport.

I am getting married next sat, and I already pre requested extra copies of Marriage cert. in case I need more. was only 5 bucks extra for 2 copies. Well worth it now rather than finding out later you may need them.

All in all was a great trip in Vancouver (was born and raised there) so I was familiar with everything and was nice to visit back home for a couple of days.

Would the INS give her an advance parole or something that she could use to reenter the US???

Thanks in advance for your help guys...

QUOTE
Petitions filed with the Nebraska or Texas Service Centers after this announcement but prior to a change in the form instructions will be forwarded to the California or Vermont Service Centers, respectively, without any need for action by the petitioner. However, there could be a slight delay in the adjudication of the petition as a result of the transfer; so, petitioners are encouraged to file directly with the appropriate service center as outlined above. If a petitioner receives a receipt notice from the Nebraska or Texas Service Center, his or her case will be transferred to the California or Vermont Service Center for adjudication. The petitioner should receive a notice advising him or her that the case has been transferred.

Oh Mannnn, that's why when I checked the status of the package I sent a few days ago on the USPS website they said it has been forwarded to a different address!!!!How was I supposed to know, I checked the address on the application (on the USCIS website)and it was Lincoln, NE and now it's CA!!!GREAT unsure.gif more and more delays...

No, you will never receive anything from them regarding the AR-11.

that is why it is good to send it with delivery confirmation, but you really don't have to mail it in anymore the ar-11 is available to complete online now...

And the online form actually provides a confirmation number along with the information you supplied.

So you guys think I should do it AGAIN online after 18 months?

Who cares about your sponsor at this point? The I-864 doesn't figure in the removal of conditions.
[/quote]

Well apparantly the USCIS DO care!!!

The sponsorship agreement remains in force until the sponsored immigrant:
Becomes a U.S. citizen;
Can be credited with 40 quarters of work;
Departs the United States permanently and either formally abandons lawful permanent resident status (by filing Form I-407) or is formally held in a removal proceeding to have abandoned that status;
In a removal proceeding, loses the lawful permanent resident status that the sponsored immigrant obtained based on your Form I-864; or
Dies.

Anyways, we mailed the form today so hopefully we should be fine.

we also did the same thing, mailed the AR11 but didn't think about my husband (sponsor) having to send in notice too and we were a year at the new address.
I sent in his change of address at the same time as my removal of conditions. On the cover letter of my package, I wrote that I didn't know..blah blah blah and that I have sent his change in. I was concerned that our evidence spanning over two years showed two different addresses. We received an NOA from his address change. We ended up getting an RFE cause of a typo (see my old post) but I'm not sure the RFE wasn't somehow related to the address update as who knows which department processes first.
Anyway, all is well. No fines, no penalties. Sent in my petition in late Sept 07...card received in March 08.
You'll be fine.

Thank you so much, that sure is relieving!!and congratulations on the Card.
I just filled the form up but I'm still not sure what to write on the cover letter, I'm thinking of sending it tomorrow, a few days before I send my package!

You sound so sure which makes me feel a little better! but this should have been sent within 30 days of the move, and we're almost 18 months late!!!hihiih
Well here's why I freaked out:
Penalties:
If the sponsor fails to give notice of a change in his
or her address, as required by 8 U.S.C. 1183a(d) and
8 CFR 213a.3, the sponsor may be liable for the
civil penalty established by 8 U.S.C. 1183a(d). The
amount of the civil penalty will depend on whether
the sponsor failed to give this notice knowing that the
sponsored immigrant(s) have received means- tested
public benefits.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAre Tax returns necessary as an evidence?
QUOTE (motu @ May 14 2008, 11:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
A US tax return is an important US document - it shows that you are being a 'legal' and responsible resident or citizen - so if you do not include that as part of the proof of you living here as 'normal' married people then it could be taken negatively. At the minimum send in the extension copy showing what you paid with the extension). Think of the importance of taxes to the US agencies not as just another piece of proof to be surpassed by pictures or bills or affidavits from family and friends. Good Luck

Thank you,
We finally sent the package WITH the joint Tax returns for the past 3 years, so hopefully everything should be fine.
