Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	RFE questions	So 2 weeks ago I got a RFE. My wife doesn't work . She goes to college. I work and study. We are really low middle class couple. I have not done this years tax returns cuz I'm waiting for my college loan tax thing so I can get more out of my taxes. Is Sending a state ID of my wife with her last name changed to mine good? My wife is 4 months pregnant. Ultrasounds good for them? A lease in which my family, my wife and I are on it good? Recent credit card statement showing both our names? I already sent 2 years tax returns. Life insurance showing her as the beneficiary. Utility bills. Bank statement. 2 letters from people that known us way back. We have pics but didn't send them cuz we think is irrelevant. My mom helped me get a car so insurance is on her name and my name. I'm currently teaching my wife how to drive so no insurance card for her yet lol. We are a young happy couple soon to be a family of 3 and hoping to get our own place soon. Any advice recommendations critics will be greatly appreciated. Thank you What did the RFE say specifically? The most important thing is taxes! Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Affidavit of Friends	Hi Amykathleen2005, I agree that affidavits are not mandatory but however if you are submitting affidavits than they need to be notarized per the USCIS I751 instructions in the link i have provided. Also, submitting these affidavits wont hurt the case if they are coming from genuine sources. getting these affidavits notarized is not a biggy just go to any bank they will do it for you. I think there is no limit to the evidence you can submit to send to USCIS. Cheers! All that directions in your link say are that the affidavits need to be "sworn". They don't need to be notarized. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	DMV denied state ID	My wife and I are in the process of removing conditions (temporary to permanent green card) and we had recieved a RFE. On this RFE one of the things that they wanted to see was a state ID or drivers licence. She has been here 3 years and has attempted (and failed) the drivers test on 3 occasions. Her self confidence is shot and after lots of money spent on drivers training, she still feels she does not want to drive.  So when the RFE arrived we decided to just go get her a state ID and be done with it.    This morning we wnet to DMV with her expired green card, the letter explaining that her status is in process and she may travel, etc. (I am forgetting the number of this document) and her SS card.  She was flatly denied for her application. We were told that the USCIS is supposed to send another document after the green card process document, that would allow DMV to issue her a state ID.    Oddly enough, this mystery document was never mentioned when my wife took the drivers test.    Our RFE is due in about 5 weeks now and the immigration attourney we spoke with strongly suggested compling with the state ID request, but now it looks like the only way the state will issue an ID is with a valid green card, whcih we may not be issued without a state ID.     We have never recieved anything other than an RFE. Does anyone know what document the DMV might be referring to? They were unable to give me a title or document number for what they require.  Do they definitely want the ID or are they just looking for more general proof of relationship? If you get it now it will show that you got the ID just for the RFE when they are looking for information previous to you applying for ROC.	amykathleen2005	Female	England	2013-08-08 22:02:00

They want stuff on top of what you already sent in the past. Show ACTIVE accounts. They don't want updated anything. They want documents from ten years ago showing you were actively married then up until the time you sent in the petition. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 July 2012 filers	Hello everyone, I mailed my Form I-751 package on July 26, 2012 and it was delivered on July 27, 2012. My Green card expires on 9/14/2012. I also filed form I-912 for the fees to be weaved due to hardship. Is anyone familiar with I-912. If it not approved do I have to re-apply completely? Philippines	Wife as Joint Owner of Credit card account	Lots of things effect your credit, yours at the moment is probably pretty good if you have been making timely payments to your account. Look here for more info: http://www.agoodcreditscore.com/ Also, an interesting thing to note, the more credit checks you have done on you (not including ones on yourself) lowers your score. My husband has a beautiful rating and he recently just decided to put me as a joint owner of the account. I have 2 questions: 1. Will it help me build up my credit score? ( I don't have any credit card as I was using his whenever I have to, I only have debit cards so I have no idea what my credit score status is) 2. Yes, if you use the card and pay it off right away it will slowly build your credit. You are on the account so either he or you can use the cards and build your credit. Also if he can add you to some of his older accounts, like a credit card he has had for awhile would be really good. Having a longer credit history builds better credit, the age of the account is factored into your score.
