K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	any April 2012 filers???	I see alot of may and june filers receiving their NOA2 at california service center the last few days. I'm filed at beginning of april and still nothing.....should I be concerned they lost my application if may and june are being approved and still nothing???? No. CSC are working on Feb/March/April/May/June for some reason, no one knows why. hang tight. The average that was updated on the USCIS website last week still showed 5 months. I read somewhere that the CSC was telling callers they are working on Feb petitions, can't remember the date. You can try calling for an update after your 5 months, but its not likely you will get too much of a response in regards to when you will be approved, however, if you are really worried, then this can give you some comfort at least if you call and ask them to check that your petition is not lost, if thats all you need, then give yourself that peace of mind and call. One VJ member got NOA 2 in two weeks after he sent his military ID. Maybe the military ID wasn't asked for at the beginning...that was a long time to wait. Having a military ID does not automatically qualify for an expedite. Military can be expedited if they are deploying to a war zone, then other information - not just an ID is required. As you should trust him and move forward, I commend you for you asking him about it, its hard to bring up the doubts to your partner, the long distance thing can give us more doubts than a regular relationship. But when you do have fears, even if its hard to broach the subject, if you really need to know, you should be able to talk to him about it. I would be inclined to believe him too, but then again, I would have been inclined to believe him before hand, it didn't matter the reason so much as to why it was delayed, by him or by USCIS, it mattered that he filed and he wants you there as much as you want to be there. I called my congressmans office once and the secretary told me not to call until the 45 business days has passed. Thats not very nice of her. You've waited 8 months, why should you wait another 45 days, it doesn't take that long surely - I hope you told her as much, not that she would do anything! After reading about congressional inquiries on here, I don't believe they make a bit of difference. Making noise, politely, but firmly is the only solution I can think of, any way possible, including the congressional, Can you ask to make an appointment and go and meet with him?? Infopass appointment could be the next step after that perhaps? its working for someone else here (fingers crossed) but their situation is a little more unique. Thats an awful situation to be in. Its not official and your approval is not the result of a mistake. the estimates are there to provide filers with an estimate waiting time. VSC seem to be processing April and some early May filers at the moment (not counting RFE's from March still waiting for approval) definitely go celebrate!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	A little confused about what happens next after the NOA2	It is confusing, because its not a standard process, lots of variations! thats why its important to get the right advice from someone who has been through your local consulate. No your fiance does not need a case number to fill out the I-134, though for supporting evidence, the requirements can vary between local consulates, so check it out before he sends it off to you. NVC - you can call and get a case number, this is not mandatory for all countries, I got mine in my packet3 and didn't feel we needed to rush this part of the process. but if you want to get it to speed the process up then do so, What I did do, was check for those around the same NOA2 date to see when they put in that NVC had received their petition - so essentially I had a guestimate when I would get my packet 3, you could do the same in terms of calling NVC, let others do the hard work for you . either have a look in your country portal on VJ for guides for this part of the process, or you can have a look at the Dublin embassy website and see what they require from you, for Sydney, everything is on their website, Dublin might be the same? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	How long from noa2 to actual visa?	There are a lot of factors that can determine how long, and its a case by case basis, partly to do with how organised you are to send your packet 3 info into your consulate, how quickly your local consulate schedules appointments, when you can get your medical done, police checks done etc. There are other unknowns aswell to consider, You could receive an RFE, or you could be delayed at the consulate aswell. It is advisable to request caterers/venue etc to be flexible with your dates in case you need to move it, find out at least when they need final details and what penalties would apply should you need to move the date. I was just having a look for one of the May filers who's fiance is from Portugal, his petition is being redirected to the consulate in Paris (common for Portugal apparently), it appears that Paris is scheduling around 3-4 weeks from receipt of packet 3 (based on the 2 most recent interview dates on VJ) Best of luck, from receiving NOA2, 4 months could be plenty of time once NOA2 is received, if you have everything go well. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Sent Letter to Senator (Hawaii)	don't forget, she doesn't have to travel with her dog, since it will be in quarantine once it arrives into Hawaii, she can send it ahead prior to the cut off date and hopefully reunite sooner when she arrives. I sent my cat from Australia to Hawaii last August, and I arrived in December. He didn't need quarantine as Australia is rabies free, but he was quite happy and relaxed when I got here. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 2012 Filers	1 Year Later....   I was just thinking about how different things were 1 year ago.  5/11 was that horrible day that we learned Jordan could not enter the US and we had to cancel our plans for spending the summer together.  5/17 was the day I sent the K-1 package.  I did it in 6 days...6 days of crying, stress, research, more crying, more research, discovering Visa Journey...lots more research, lots more crying after reading timelines, Igor's, etc.   Then the sense of accomplishment turning to a sense of dread after reading all the things I might have screwed up.   Ugh.   Now I can sit back and smile that it's all behind us now.   Hope everyone is enjoying their lives TOGETHER with the one we waited for.  Jordan is taking his driver's test today.  He said his last step to becoming official.   lol  Hope he passes, he's only been driving for more than 35 years.   Things are going great for us, hope the same for everyone who supported me here!     awww Patty.. I was reflecting the other day too, seems like such a long time ago, now I'm sitting here in my 'hotel' room with my cat, in Tennessee waiting for my husband to get off work so we can go and sign the contract for our new house.  so things are going great for us too... I've had enough of this limbo status, though I shouldn't complain, I'm here, I see him every day. I've been here now exactly 4 months! I had my biometrics on Wednesday, and we are leaving Hawaii in 5 weeks, no longer going to Korea though, which I can't say that I'm upset about! even more so with all the tension over there. We are moving to a base near Nashville, TN, right on the Kentucky/Nashville border and hubby will be back in a hospital working in mental health again. He is thrilled, busy next 5 weeks and trying to make the most of my time left in Hawaii. Lots of sorting things out and packing to do, meanwhile I decided to take on 3 feral kittens from the SPCA to get them socialised and tame ready for adoption, keeping me busy!! Kassil&Tierce, Yes, putting your married name on your AOS paperwork plays a part in the name change as you will then have an official government ID in your new name, so it makes it easier to go around and do other changes like SSN, then proceed with Drivers License in married name. In the next few days, legally getting married and then applying for AOS. Ugh, it's been a long and tiring effort. BrockUK, man, that's so horrible to hear - that's worse than my ex-girlfriend who screwed me over. I hope your life gets better, man - put her out of your mind, seal her away, and find someone who deserves your effort and affection. whoooo hoo finally!! That is fantastic!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 2012 Filers	Hi guys, Long time no hear. Sorry I haven't got back to you, a lot has happened to me recently. My fiancee has been lying to me all this time we have been together. I have found evidence that she has been living a lie and been lying to me for no reason. She lives her life under 3 different names, lying about her finances and her family. She has manipulated me to staying with her because she is alone and has no family. But she did not need to lie because I loved her anyway. Did she lie about the cancer? I don't know. More importantly did she lie about sending off the petition? She will not say either way. What I do know is that I had to break up with her, cancer or not, because she had no reason to lie and gave her plenty of opportunity to confess. She has yet to confess anything, and I doubt that she ever will. I have even offered to stay as friends to be there for her if she does have cancer, but she threw it back in my face and said either we are together or my death will be on your conscience (meaning she was going to kill herself). Thus, I have no idea if this petition is in the pipeline. I did all that hardwork for nothing. But at least the truth is out (well, its not, but she has yet to prove anything to me about her ID, finances, doctor reports etc...). It has taken a while for me to come to terms to this. I have lost my fiancee and best friend. I will always love her for who she is, not what she made herself to be. I wish you all the best of luck in your future with your loved ones. I've been checking on and off and just hoped you had visited and got married etc. I am sure you will go on to have a long and happy life with someone who deserves a good, kind hearted, rock solid gentle caring man like that which you are. Spent the day in a flurry of activity to get this arranged so that the day and a half before we fly to France goes smoothly. I have everything prepared for the interview, and I'm rather frantically trying not to be nervous. We arrive in Paris just before midnight, have the interview at 1 pm the next day, spend the rest of the day there, and fly back in the afternoon of the 1st. Then the last steps of the wait begin, but these are the very final hours we are spending apart from each other. This is it--it's almost done! It sure tests the nerves, but I'm sure you will be fine, approved and flying to your new Nevada home very soon, best wishes to you both, look forward to hearing your post interview news!! Fiance is flying over two weeks before. Then we'll return to the US together. We're planning a quick JoP wedding for as soon as we can just to start the immigration. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 2012 Filers	Any advice on getting the AOS package together? congrats on POE and upcoming wedding! follow the guides, those forms are confusing, particularly the AP one, another tip is 'don't lose anything and take a copy of everything' . and order your tax transcript ASAP, due to tax filing time of year, it could take a while to get your transcripts. I kept running into snags, my husbands tax transcript says he earned around $3000 for 2011, due to being deployed in Iraq, therefore his taxable income was low (tax free earnings while on deployment) so have had to go the extra step for that. We are supposed to be moving to Korea, though making some attempts to change that assignment, thats delayed us aswell, we should have heard last week (and the week before, and the one before that!) if its confirmed or deleted, so I'm sending this puppy off tomorrow, with a letter from his CO advising we are moving to Korea in approx 2 months. Kassil&Tierce, thats is so sweet! very special and thoughtful. Both Hubby and I separately purchased the exact same dinner items for Valentines dinner, except we got different flavours of ben&Jerry's, which is amusing how we chose, it always used to be Cherry Garcia for me and Americone dream for him, so I bought him the Americone dream but decided to try something different for myself, and he bought me Cherry Garcia but decided on something different for himself! ha! and we are going on a trip to the Big Island this weekend. so I have my AOS packet finally ready, just need the cheque, and the envelope. and considering at this stage we are still moving to Korea, we are requesting an expedite, its part of what has us slowed down, we were trying to get moved off the Korea assignment, but its less than 90 days and we are still going, so, now to proceed as is. Therefore, I've been busy with more paperwork and medicals for the military, consumed with even. and more of hubby's relatives visiting. interesting people. ahem. Here is the danger of leaving your spouse home alone all day...we just put an offer on a house and are in escrow! A new house was something we were talking about months down the road, but he started searching....full time and found a perfect place in weeks instead of months. Today makes it 273 days of waiting for NOA 2 (8 months 25 days). It makes me think that getting married in Japan would have been much quicker. We're supposed to hear a reply by February 15th after having contacted our congressman. Congratulations on those of you who have seen progress! On the plus side, my boss is apparently rooting for me and handling everything she can on the work end to keep the stress there as minimal as possible. BrockUK? where are you??? ok my update, I have everything for AOS except the tax transcript, which has been ordered and on its way, we've had a hectic few weeks, my husbands aunt and uncle came to stay for a week, my grandfather passed away in Australia, then I got an eye infection, that has rendered me practically useless, doc gave me ointment and its slowly improving, and this week, husbands cousin and family are coming to stay for a week. Visitors is the last thing I've needed with everything going on, but its rude to say no to family, I'm left entertaining people I've never met, and I'm completely polite and hospitable, I haven't complained to my husband hes working 70+ hours at work and doesn't need to hear it, he noticed anyway, he confessed that the only one he likes out of all of them is his aunt, the rest was just to be polite and he wished he had been able to say no, they haven't been the easiest guests. I've also been trying to run around get military stuff done, health insurance and military ID etc, then a medical screening thingy, and the potential Korea move, which we will find out this week if we are still going or not, if not, then its the magical lottery of where we will get moved to. Life is a little lonely during the week, hence the venting here. I am looking forward to just getting through AOS and finding out where we are going to be living. deep breath, life is easier with him - without a doubt. Omer, I'm sorry you are going through this process, as aforementioned, it is common for middle eastern males to be put through a lengthy AP, from what I've read, there is nothing you can do but wait, check periodically, but try to remain as calm as you can through this process, hopefully it will go quickly.
