Have you looked in your country portal? getting this organised now is still a good idea, I just wouldn't want to give you any direction in case its wrong.

Ok, so we don't have to pay a fee right now? My fiance is getting his financial stuff together for the affadivit of support form. We're just trying to understand what is next.

AnnaLouise, it is actually country specific, for Australia, I paid the fee online after packet 4, but I have no idea what your region requires you to do.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2012 Filers

what is required income for affidavit of suport?? we r 4 person...! including my 2 kids...! and i am a petitioner...!

2 things to help you out Omer, firstly is from here on out, your questions are going to be country specific, meaning that every country has their own requirements on how to proceed from here. I believe that Pakistan will fall into Middle East instead of South East, so check this regional portal, others from pakistan will be best equipped to answer your questions:

http://www.visajourn...opicfilter__all

secondly, here is the link to the income levels, download the form to have a look: http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD

lastly, while I'm redirecting you, remember you can come back here for moral support.. :)

You are quite capable of making hard decisions, I would have a long heart to heart conversation with him about your life together and what that looks like to him. If he has unknown fears about marriage, then there is something that is bothering him that he has not told you about. It could be referring to either a past relationship, or his parents relationship.

I know I can make the hard decisions, but not until I have all the information and a clear head. one thing I do know, is that what ever happens from here, I'll be ok. I know what is bothering him, it is about his last marriage, I've known for some time, its something we discussed a long time ago, and its not marriage that scares him so much, its divorce, and I know its not personal toward me. I'm giving him some space at the moment, and myself. He has messaged me a few times, but I need to just be alone with my thoughts about this. One of us needs to have a clear head and steady hand. I am talking to a relationship counselor, I thought a professional would be a good idea this time. lol. one thing I will be doing if we continue on, is suggest that we see someone together, I heard it once before, relationship counseling can be useful for couples before they have issues, and in this case, he needs to be de-traumatised from his previous marriage, and perhaps I could gain some knowledge how to talk him off a ledge (not the literal ledge)in the future. We'll see what happens over the next week. Thanks for the support. sorry to interrupt the happy thread... I swore I would never post about this stuff again.

OH NO! Not again. How can he do this to you?? I am soo sorry. I can't even imagine what you are feeling right now. (((hugs))) He's done this before so maybe this is another temporary freak-out? I sure hope so, but dang, how can he put your through this.

Vent all you want, We're here for you.

Thanks Patty, feels kinda #######, I hope its temporary, I sent him instructions on how to cancel everything, but he hasn't done anything yet. I just hope he needs a few days to calm down and see sense. he sent me some weird messages about one of the kittens, so it sounds like he wants to go back to chatting like we did, but is digging in his heels.

A pity he doesn't live near where I am, I'd be happy to go smack some sense into him.

ugh.. someone needs to, I'm hoping the guys in his office do it, they did last time he did this. and hes talked to them about me almost every day.

Oh my, Sweetdelish, I sorry to hear about this.

Sometimes, I think men can go into phases of fearing that they'll lose their independence and individuality. My guy, especially when we were just dating, harped on about never wanting to get married and that he didn't want any kids. Being upfront, he said that he didn't like how it seemed to remove the independence he had. Anyways, the point here is that I didn't take it personally, established what I wanted in life and said "you can stay or go, it's your choice". If I were in your position, I would just wing back. You haven't done anything wrong I'm sure. It's in his head and he has to figure it out. It's his choice at the end of the day and you can only let him know that you recognise that. Let the consequence of his indecisiveness be your understanding and then space. I would talk to him about how you see things in your relationship, what you'd hope would materialise for you together but also that although you want to go ahead with your plans(if thats what you want), you'd rather respect what he has to say then be with someone who doesn't want to get married. Maybe he'll stop thinking in man mode.

It's still kind of bad form, especially when you're so far apart. Once is understandable, twice deserves a smack alright.

thats good advice, when he calls me so far we haven't talked since Friday, if hes still being irrational and stubborn when he eventually calls, I'll do that. for now, I'm giving him total space to get his mind right and really be sure about what he wants to do.

:wow: I am speechless.

I know.. I'm devastated. :(

I can't give up the habit of coming here at the moment. but in a split second decision, my fiance has called it off again, we've been stronger than ever, and so happy, hes been excited and counting down the days telling anyone who would listen about our plans, Friday he was making arrangements, switched his life insurance to me as the beneficiary, fixed up the car he has ready for me, called our marriage officiant about vows, photos and the certificate, completed forms with my name on them to come to Korea with him and talked at length with the administrator about his time in NZ and Australia, looked at booking our flights to Vegas and Chicago, talked to the guys at work about his plans told me that they were really happy for him, then I told him that I was worried that I might not be able to go to Korea with him, he said it was a slim chance and not to worry, it will work out.... and then Friday afternoon, he told me that he was too scared to get married, that I put the doubt in his mind and he wouldn't want to go to Korea and have a long distance relationship again, so he is calling it off. Hes barely spoken to me since, I've tried to suggest alternative options but hes not even prepared to talk to me.

Hes done this before, and snapped out of it, but I don't think its going to happen this time. I'm trying to figure out a time when I have to just let go and move on. I'm stunned. and clearly venting here... again.

I never thought this would happen to us again.

I hope no one else has to endure what I'm going through now. best wishes to you all. (F)

We are May 15th too, but havent heard a thing...I really hope to hear something soon.

I'm sure you are not the only one, there are also filers before May 15th that haven't heard, be happy that May filers are getting approved, so that should mean yours is any day now.

Well...things are not looking so well for me at the moment ... I was just talking to my fiancee and she flat out lit into me accusing me of probably never sending in our I129F packet because it has taken so long :crying: ..I've been going through hell and back with all of this..HOW COME WE, THE ONES WHO GO THROUGH THIS ENTIRE PROCESS LEGALLY, GET TREATED SO UNFAIRLY DIFFERENT FROM THOSE WHO COME INTO THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY???

What Patty said.. shes clearly upset, but could always tell her to look it up for herself, send her the case number and USCIS site to look it up herself.

and the unfair thing? this is not the first time I've heard this, Yes it sucks, but no point blaming something you have no control over. alot of people are in similar crappy situations that really are 'hell and back' its coming soon..

As of 19:00 Pacific Time today (Nov 2), my fiancee and I finally have an approval.

well I got the email at 2.30pm New Zealand time, which translates to 9.30pm Vermont time. :) and mine was CSC too.. i think they are on different systems, and I do notice that vermont seems to send out approvals about 3 times a day at the moment.

Argh! I really can't take the suspense! My fiancee called up for an update and they said that the were in the process of processing the NOA2. Does that mean that they are processing the paperwork for the NOA2 or are they in the process of deciding about our NOA2!!!

I'd just wish they would email us already lol!! I would check online but unfortunately one of her kittens weed on her NOA1 letter

hard to know what they mean, but I would hope it means you don't have to wait too much longer!!

If you're a Pinot drinker, that is probably why. The best Pinots come from Oregon. I don't drink a lot of Pinot myself, so I'm no expert. I hear there are some good ones being made in the Santa Rita Hills region of CA. You'll probably have a lot more options once you are here.

Thats part of my problem, I have no recommendations. so I'll note the region and sample some when I'm there! I've never got used to Australian wines either.. I always looked for the NZ wines... hopeless. haha.

Eh. Disasters always happen. We prepare as best we can, and deal with the aftermath as best we can. Admittedly, the hurricanes are slowly getting worse, but that's an unfortunate effect of global warming - more heat to fuel them and the zone they can be fed by is crawling north over time. http://xkcd.com/1126/ says it all, really.

yep - they do, global warming has been going on for a long time. I don't think we'll see a massive shift in our lifetime, not for several hundred years, so I kind of think that the freak out about it is all hype.. I tend to keep my thoughts to myself on such controversial issues, I'm more interested in endangered species, you know, animals being hunted to extinction, i know.. global warming affects animals too, but I think human greed is doing more damage.

So glad the tsunami fizzled. That had to be scary. Jordan is fine, his ship is on the West side of Florida and was no where near Sandy. Whew. We had a small earthquake (3.9) in So Cal this morning, but we always have earthquakes. I didn't feel it at all. I was on the phone with Jordan talking about the Canada earthquake when it hit. LOL

I'm part of a group that makes wine, there is about 25 of us that are part of it. We split the costs and we all help in the process and at the end I get about 6 cases of wine. It's pretty good too!
There are some Aussie Shiraz's that I really like. Syrah is one of my favorite wines, but I like all reds. Lots of good wine made in California. I'm sure you'll find some that you like.

It was really warm here today and I spent the afternoon washing Jordan's boat. Can't wait until he gets here and can do it himself. :P It's a task I used to enjoy, but it's been too long that I've had to do it for him.

all these natural disaster scenarios are scary, because there is nothing we can do to prevent them, just guess the outcome as best we can and prepare for it hoping we did enough. we get a lot of earthquakes here in NZ too, every couple of weeks, many are worse than others, I never feel them.

I've never found a Californian wine that I like yet. I'll need to do some investigating. your wine group sounds fun! i think wine has to taste better when you make it yourself. hehe.

not long to go now Patty.. 4 weeks today till interview!

ohhh ..... and 2 more May filers approved!!
SweetDelishFemaleAustralia2012-10-29 16:54:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2012 Filers

LOL Maybe, but I don't think so. All he could talk about was being back here in So Cal.

Now there's a thought! I just started to think about all the stuff I was going to get done before he got here....and how much I haven't done yet. That will make it go fast! :hehe:

I spent 6 hours pressing wine today. Syrah, Grenache and Cabernet. I'm beat and my hands are stained purple! Then we spent 2 hours drinking last years wine. mmmm I really need a nap

I can hardly blame him, hope he wasn't affected by the storm.. looks like it might have passed right through, the earth is goign nuts at the moment, those doomsdayers will be having a field day! 7.7 earthquake in Canada, Hurricane Sandy and Frankenstorm, tsunami in Hawaii, there was another big earthquake somewhere in the US too wasn't there? I hope it settles down a bit and there is no more loss of human life. I was up in a panic half the night about the tsunami, I actually told David about it, we were on the phone when the sirens were going off, I laughed it off saying.. ohh there was an earthquake in Canada, we figured it was just a test, they do that. It kept going so I had a quick look on google, and sure enough.. ! anyway... i went to bed at 1 when they downgraded the threat. David was too busy catching more kittens.. he has 4 now, and the mother cat. so 6 cats in the house.

mmm your wine pressing sounds interesting. and fun! I'm partial to a good Central Otago Pinot Noir personally, but I'll drink a decent Syrah, haven't found many American wines that I like, yet.

Awww....kitty rescue. Good for him! He sounds like a great guy.

Jordan only has 3 weeks left on his contract so he's over being in tropical paradise every day. LOL He said the ship is starting to feel like prison. I still don't feel sorry for him.

Less than a month to go! Does that sound better...umm no. :P

I'm off to make wine this morning. Trying to keep busy to pass the days...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

haha.. he has his moments, hes gone kitty crazy, hes not talking to me about anything else!

haha.. I bet hes lying about over being in tropical paradise, just to make you feel better. :P

nope... even a week to wait sounds far far too long. I'm wondering if booking something horrible like a dentist appointment around that date might make it feel like it comes up fast. hmmm

Considering how they screwed up getting the RFE to me to begin with, I feel like they should expedite the rest of this side of it! I don't know what Portugal processing times are like, as of yet, but I know that they can move pretty fast on other documents - she had her passport and permission to fly within a week of her request, back in January.

I'm glad to hear it wasn't that bad. Sorry, I forgot you were the USC. LOL

Just got a surprise call from the ship tonight. He doesn't call too much because it's expensive, but we're trying to figure out when he'll be able to go to work again and I'm coordinating with his agent. Our situation is a complicated one.
It was great to hear his voice as I was really missing him today. He was in Grand Cayman today.

well thats nice, I know how that feels, when David was in Iraq, it was always a nice surprise when he called. wow.. sounds difficult for him being in Grand Cayman. but seriously.. its a bittersweet feeling.. to miss him.

David is currently trapping and trying to tame 3 stray kittens that have been living with their cat mother for the last couple of months. hes just spent several hundred dollars on stuff at Petco and I'm getting updates every half hour or so. He has a bit of a soft spot for cats!! I have to watch he doesn't become the crazy cat man.. though... are futures are clearly aligned, as I've always said, when I'm old and start losing my mind, I fully intend on becoming a crazy cat lady, so maybe we can do that together some day. :P

31 days left to interview Patty... thats not many... but won't it seem like forever. *sigh*

on another note.. I saw a May 4th filer get approved!!

Tierce and I are impatiently waiting on the CSC getting around to dealing with our RFE response still. She's apparently got something of a cold, and at this rate we're debating her visiting here for the holidays so that we won't have to spend Christmas and NYE 8 hours apart. I'm planning to be there in Portugal for her interview, once we know when it is.

It can't be long, While they have slowed down, I've seen that CSC are mostly only approving RFE's, so thats good news for you. 1 - 2 weeks at best. Oh Wow! You're right! LOL Well here's to us doing the happy dance on the same day.

I don't know why I'm stressing so much, but I'm glad to hear it's not just me. I know an April filer who has her interview the same week as us and she's feeling the same thing. I keep reading about the dreaded AP...I would lose my sanity if that happened.

I need to run off to an appointment with a caterer...I'm still planning for the wedding, without making any deposits. LOL

neither do I.. AP would be very unusual for both of us, but then I keep reading about 221g's - the UK guys are getting some complications, and there were 2 in Sydney that got 221g's recently too. I've got David to get me some back up information in case something is not up to scratch. I'm getting relationship evidence gathered, just in case, they don't usually ask for it in Sydney, but I'm taking it anyway. I'm also worried because they gave me an interview date 3 weeks away from someone else who received a date for Sydney, the same day as me. so she got the 6th of Nov.. that has my mind going crazy that there is something wrong with my application.

yep - my mind is going crazy. even a delay I would find upsetting.

breathe!!

ohhh well at least that will keep you busy. wedding planning, I've done all I can.

Good to know - I'll be in Christchurch and the two doctors are male. I know it's a bit silly, but after reading this I'm a bit concerned about the evasiveness of the medical! I'm still in Perth for now, but will be back in NZ 1 December. I have quite a few airpoints due to all the long distance travel I've been doing - and I see all 4 Auckland approved doctors are female - so maybe I'll fly up there for my medical. Seems a bit extreme I know, but I won't be working and Auckland is a great place!

We are PCSing to Ramstein, Germany in April. FYI- you will also be able to expedite citizenship! My husband and I have done a whole lot of research on this and if your husband has PCS orders, you can apply under a special section of the naturalisation act - s 319b I believe, where if you are currently PCS'd or PCS'ing you can apply for citizenship with ZERO residency years!

We're definitely going to start the process as soon as I'm in the USA, as it will give many more job options on the base!

Keep in touch :)

not silly at all, I appreciated being sent to a female doctor for the breast part of the exam, and which doctor did you get? citymed is right across the road from my office, if you are seeing Dr Donna Marshall, shes lovely, she helped me out alot in prep for my Sydney medical, I wish I had just moved it all to NZ, but I didn't want to complicate the process after I'd started.

Good to know about expediting everything else! something in this process has to go smoothly, I haven't looked too far ahead yet, I wanted to wait for the visa approval before I started all that. We were both having a panic attack the last few days about the possibility of me not getting command sponsored to Korea, even though its a very slight chance, we definitely over thought everything, David even talked to a Kiwi (Maori/German) lady at his briefing in Hawaii last week. ha! what are the chances? but she told him because of his rank and where they were going, it was highly unlikely I'd get denied.

working is the hardest thing for me to wrap my head around, I'm an IT program consultant, and not sure they need someone with my skills on base in Korea.

Definitely going to diet if I have to stand in front of a guy naked! I'm in Perth now but since I have an Auckland NVC number, I'm quitting my job at Ernst & Young and heading back to NZ the end of this month. I looked up the approved doctors in Christchurch and there's only men.

I'm still waiting on my police certificate, and my husband sent me back my birth certificate that I'd left over there by mistake. We've requested an expedite at NVC since we're PCSing next year and if that happens, then things are going to happen incredibly fast. I'm pretty nervous about not having everything, but I think that the only thing that will take awhile now will be the AFP certificate. Always feels as though I'm waiting on something!

Where is your fiance based?

FYI - not every doctor gets you to strip. my doctor in Sydney just got me to take off my shoes and sweatshirt, and he sent me to a female doctor for the breast exam.

I was about to ask you where in NZ, I'm in Auckland at the moment and met one of the Auckland doctors that do the visa medicals, and she was lovely.

Where are you PCS'ing to? I'm in a similar situation to you, except we are going K1, I've been living in Australia and have just popped over to NZ for work for 4 months, NZ born and raised though, however i chose to do my interview in Sydney, at the time of filing, I didn't know I'd be in NZ, it would have been easier though!

my fiance is Army and we are PCSing to Sth Korea in May, provided I get command sponsorship of course, so we need to expedite AOS after we get married.

haha, thank you! I put a review in the embassy reviews, it was easy and they were professional but friendly, really nice experience actually, no need to be nervous at all, though I know you can't help yourselves!! I was a wreck going in.

you should hear soon, possibly next Monday? they might have just been shuffling a few things around before they issue new interview dates, they gave me till Friday to confirm my change in date so its possible there are others that have been moved around too. Just a theory.

I get my emails to all 3 addresses, 2 of mine that I provided, and my fiances.

Australia and New ZealandHappy Thanksgiving
Happy thanksgiving!

congratulations on your pregnancy!

I'm not quite there yet, but I want to play, I had my visa interview in Sydney on Tuesday and got approved, so I'm thankful for that, and thankful I only have to wait another 13 days to fly to Honolulu to my new home with my fiance and not have to leave him again. I'm thankful that the hardest part of this process is finally over.

Yes, its the page with your photo and details on it.

you do not need it notarised/certified, just photocopy and send, same with birth certificate, send original plus photocopy, no need for the pharmacist. you will get your original birth cert back at the interview.
