I have to say that this statement just makes me smile! I love it!

Hang in there, I'm sure you will hear soon

Patty,

the couple that got their NOA2 the same day as me, have marked that NVC has received their petition. yours should be there too - or winging its way to Vancouver. I'm just waiting till I hear from the embassy personally. I actually think we'll get the email when I'm there. just 3 more sleeps!! :joy:

Yes.. should be hearing something any day now, but not holding my breath.

My man is battling the effects of Isaac and the resultant floods and property damage .... the fun never ends..

I'm holding my breath. as for Isaac, I expect that wasn't the most welcome distraction, especially with the property damage.

Nope, our notice on the USCIS site is still that oddball one, no news for us yet. She's started having fits of glee about the getting-married, I'm busy just wishing they'd approve the application so I can get her home sooner.

thats cute! hehe. It should be approved any day now, at least you know that. CSC seem to have slowed down a bit but they are still moving, can't be far away.

hmm I was just coming to check on Kassil&Tierce - no news yet I suppose. it can't be far away, couple of weeks at best, unless its in the mail already.

Brock? Andie? pretty sure we'll hear the news any day now from you two. fingers crossed anyway.

NOA2'ers... have you started getting your things together? got everything together perhaps?

I went and got copies of my birth certificate today. I felt it a little bit thrilling that I'm now in the 'doing' rather than the 'waiting' part.

This week I plan on booking my medical and sending off my Canadian passport application - I'm already a dual citizen of Canada and New Zealand, since I live in Australia, but am temporarily working in NZ, I need both passports so I can use one to come back to NZ on after my interview. I'm hoping I can give them my Canadian one as its less complicated traveling to NZ on an NZ passport.

anyone else getting things together yet?

and.. just 5 more sleeps till I visit Hawaii again! v. excited now.

Im really happy that people are starting to get approved and receive their NOA2s! Congratulations to you all so far!

Still waiting for our NOA2 to come through...

Thanks Brock. I thought you guys were getting expedited?

Well on the positive side, VSC seems to have picked up speed and are storming ahead, CSC has dropped off this week.

Kassil&Tierce, I think you have been approved already, probably yesterday, it just hasn't come down through the system yet, otherwise, definitely this week. I even told my fiance on Monday that we were going to be approved this week. an hour before I got the email. (which was the same time he told me hes pending orders to Sth Korea mid 2013 <_< )

case number... not sure, we are just going to wait for the Sydney US Consulate to send the packet 3, I'm booking my medical in Sydney for 26 September anyway, as I'm currently working in NZ, I'm going back for a couple of days then, primarily to see Madame Butterfly at Sydney Opera house - yay!, and I'm hoping I get pkt 3 by then anyway, so I can hit up some of the things I need, like the police clearance too. So in all, I'll just be using you guys as a guide for when I can expect it to hit NVC and then the consulate.

Mine took as long as it did because of an issue they had with the mailing address; I was just on the phone with the USCIS customer service to make sure the address was corrected, and to ask about why my status is /still/ 'On May 31, 2012, your document I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was processed and mailed to the address on record.' when all they did at the time was re-mail the NOA1 hardcopy to the actual mailing address rather than my not-recognized-by-the-USPS physical address.

congrats for making the call. so what did they tell you? I guess status is the same, it can't be far away, and they are still doing March and April filers too, I figure its on someones desk, all CSC May Filers should be on someones desk, (or under it, not sure how big the desks or boxes of files are!) they are 59% through May filers (based on VJ stats)

Hello Fellow May Filers!

We just finished going through P3 and P4 in Montreal and have our interview date scheduled for October 22nd! 5 months from beginning to end! :D

Good luck to everyone!

yours is crazy quick! Congratulations!

Oh WOW !!! How did I miss this !! So cool ... Great news - and such good timing before your visit - really happy for you    (F)

(can't sleep 3.53 am here - so just checking for any updates and I found this)

aww Thanks Andie. yours HAS to be soon.. waiting as long as you have.

Hi everyone! So we got our noa2 on aug3 but we haven't received our hard copy.
can we call nvc or usem here in PH to ask for our manila case number?
and once we have our manila case number can we schedule for the medical and interview even if we dont have the noa2 hard copy yet?
THanks!

good question, I have seen something about this in the regional (Philippines) forum, I think thats correct that you don't need to wait for your hard copy and the MNL number is all you need. best to have a look in there though to confirm.

don't give up hope VSC'ers... your Friday approvals have just started rolling in today, so far 6! including late Feb and 1 that does NOT look like an expedite from March, this just might be the beginnings of an upward turn!

im starting to think I have issues... why in the hell am I looking at this site atleast.ten times a day? LOL!!! I really want to start brainstorming ideas on how to flood the hell out of those in charge at VSC... kinda clueless at the moment. theres gotta be a way to talk to someone.. hit the key for technical issues and get someone breathing.. then what? ask for tier 2? I know everyone will say "u havent even had your petition in for 5 months!" yeah well neither have alot of other applicants at CSC... time to invoke some pressure somehow.

hmm I wonder if there is a way to start an online petition.

and FYI.. this is your experience, who cares what anyone else says, do what you need to do, its like the lottery hey.. you aren't going to win if you don't buy a ticket, you've got nothing to lose!! I check this site 10x a day or more!!

I think most people here have issues, I even look at the USCIS site on the weekends. <_<

^^ What they (Sk8rPatty and Kassil&Tierce) said. The process for CSC filers is far from over, and CSC made a very quick recovery after being stuck in the same spot of files. I noticed that when I first starting looking on here. VSC HAS to make a turn around, and worse case, you shouldn't be waiting longer than a total of 6 or 7 months. I don't know, but these are the things that helped me when I first started looking and trying to gauge how long before we could start our lives together. Setting expectations. Some days are going to be harder than others. we are ALL experiencing those.

I'm in a positive mood at the moment. :P

yay!!! Congratulations!!

I'll be in Hawaii in 2 weeks with my man too!! What island?

oh does he live there too? or are you just meeting up for a holiday? Hes on the island of O'ahu.

congrats everyone. im really happy for.u giys, I know how we all dream of that NOA2. I sound like debbie downer but anyone see anything about VSC? :( I havent... been searching.

VSC are working on February at the moment, they appear to be picking up the pace, though perhaps a slow Friday for them. things will get faster there, you'll see. when I first sent ours, CSC was running way behind VSC, they really turned it around in the last 6 weeks or so, there are ebbs and flows between both service centres, and VSC simply cannot last at this pace for much longer. I think it makes it worse that CSC are approving at around 3 months, so even the expected 5 months makes it seem like torture. (F)

I live here, I just live in a rural area; we have a mailbox at the end of the gravel road my house is down. They're within a quarter-mile, but the USPS just doesn't recognize that the physical location exists, only the mailbox.

My cases status changed to NOA1 early in May - then changed to 'processed and mailed to the address on record' at the end of May, with the hardcopy of NOA1 finally arriving a couple days later. It's pretty clear they did that as a 'we mailed you the thing, finally', but seeing it instead of 'initial review' or anything else is frustrating, and trying to get an answer as to whether or not it /is/ initial review still or not is dementia-inducing.

oh right ok, that makes sense then. next question, do you have 'decision' and 'post decision' activity tab/circle? hmmm. well, at this stage, I wouldn't be too concerned, CSC are all over the place with their approvals, they are mostly approving March, April and May filers, a trickle of remaining Febs and the beginnings of June. So its not going in a particular order. When they update your case, I imagine you will see the 'decision' tab/circle.

just hang on there you will be next :)

hey.. I thought you said I would be next?!! :P hehe just kidding.

I hope so! Been going a little crazy lately. It's been 2 long months since I've seen him and now that he's working we only get to talk 3 days a week. 3 weeks from tomorrow I fly out to join his ship in Tampa! Still seems too far away.

I know others have been apart much longer, so I really shouldn't be whining and my heart goes out to those at the VSC. It's just some days are harder than others. Thing is, he won't be back to Canada until Nov 18th so we can't schedule an interview before then anyway. But it would be nice to know my petition was approved rather than rejected. I'll take an RFE at this point!

I need to keep busy or go for a run...

Happy Friday everyone and have a good weeekend!

yep.. my 2 weeks till Hawaii seems like ages to wait and I'm clearly going a little nuts, I'm up and down like a yoyo.

can you put a mail forward on your physical address? and when you say physical address.. I assume perhaps that you don't live there?

so.. just checking for understanding, so when you log in to USCIS and check on your case status, it doesn't say 'initial review'? and the 'status' hasn't change since NOA1?

I'm not good with the phone either, I hate calling anyone other than my close friends, I get really nervous. It took me 2 months at my last apartment to get the electricity account disconnected as they only do that stuff over the phone. although I don't have a huge problem with people calling me, actually I have no problem with that whatsoever

Running's Great ... I have hurt a tendon so its temporarily on hold for me, but its getting there. (come on tendon... you can do it  )

Training injuries, I know allll about those, I used to do a fair bit of weightlifting and have had both knee and wrist injuries. knees are coming good, wrist still hurts, so I'm restricted with weights I can do these days, only light benching allowed.

c'mon tendon alright.. its the least the universe can do!

Its really helping alot actually. I'm getting up in the morning to go... it usually takes me an hour talk to myself into it, which makes me late for work, but pft.. like work is a priority anyway. :P

I'm feeling really good and things with my SO is fine, better than fine now that I'm thinking straight. He was listing off the plans he has for when I'm there in a few weeks, and hes so excited about it, he has a daily list of activities for us.

congratulations!

Thats exciting, they really are delving into May files! any day now CSC May friends.

VSC does look like its picked up a little, they have movement, heres hoping momentum picks up for that service centre soon, if our estimated timelines can suddenly shift 2 months, so can VSC timelines.

This is just one of the 'Relationships take time and effort' components of making all of this work. Hold together, and keep trying.

I am holding it together now.. just by a thread.

Aww hey.. hope you're doing ok. I've been out of touch because I'm worried about our case. They have mentioned some of the 'buzz' words, but I'm not convinced. Its been such a tough ride, I don't listen to anything anymore...its either approved or it isn't. Till then, I'm in hiding pretty much.

Just hope you're ok. (F)

I am.. I'm just a bit shaken about the other week, I've decided to start running to refocus my mind. Its working. I'm not blaming waiting time, I can wait for the approval and then the visa, that part doesn't bother me. We can visit each other in the mean time, its no big deal for us. I'm just usually so together and positive! this is new territory for me!

As for you, I don't blame you Andie, I'd probably have lost my mind if I were you. It will happen, I guess at the moment thats all you have to hold on to.. you hide away if thats what you need. don't go crazy like me. :P

Its funny how everyone knows how things work... I've had people make assumptions from movies.

I'll be ok once I have my visa in hand. Although the NOA2 is a great hurdle to jump through, you know things will pick up momentum then.

I'm just hoping at this point, that my SO and I make it till then. Things have been uncomfortable since his little dummy spit. I'm hoping the time we get together in 3 weeks will settle this once and for all. Not feeling special or overly confident at this stage.

My thoughts exactly Patty, I'm betting on getting it the day before I fly out. earlier would be nice, though I don't need earlier.

I'm hoping I'll be able to book my medical for Sept 26 in Sydney, so I don't need to make an extra trip to Sydney for it. My company will pay for this trip, but anything else I have to pay for myself and I'd rather not, I'm trying to save! I'm going over to see Madame Butterfly at the Sydney Opera House on the evening of Sept 25, then the following day I have a host of things I need to take care of in Sydney including the police check, I'd love to be able to add medical to it I'm kind of hoping I can get that before I book my other appointments around it. No big deal, just a minor inconvenience and expense.

its all a bit exciting, the latest approval date is May 16.. its creeping closer, even though they are still approving Feb and March and April.. strange, but I think my theory still stands. and I sure as heck ain't going to complain.

The process is proving annoying. I called on the 4th, early 5th morning and got the request for expedite submitted. The guy at the office for processing emailed me back and said "I need evidence of you being deployed or going to deploy soon" and was told to fax the information in that day. I faxed the information in within minutes and got an email a day later saying we had an RFE. I have not received any mail at my home address or at my currently deployed command and it has been close to 5 days now. (which if i am not wrong, is the duration of time before the expedite is approved for denied.... ) i am really concerned about this and it sucks that the people at the hotline cant give me more information. I dont know a local number for the California processing site so I have no real way to indicate what is going on or what is needed.

100% frustrated, i am sure I am not the first... but damn this sucks.

Is that the military hotline you are calling? call them every day. I would.

They denied it, they said the cancer is not at a certain stage the requires it to be expedited. Her cancer is one stage below it...

Well... thats a hard pill to swallow, great that her cancer is not that advanced according to USCIS, but it sucks that they don't consider it a reason for expedite, I really hope VSC picks up soon, I was looking at historical data last night and both service centres seem to ebb and flow, CSC had a sudden surge in the last month or so, VSC could start any minute. fingers crossed Brock.

Actually, we met via Twitter, due to a mutual friend and a web-game we all three play, called Fallen London. She introduced herself by correcting my calculation on how much something cost in the game, and we just never stopped talking. Geocaching is something I introduced her to, after tripping over it while poking around in the Android App Store.

Thats a great story, very unique. So many people meet via internet these days, one way or another, guess that's why this visa process has become so lengthy. *sigh*

now searching my android for geocaching app. hehe. not that I need another past time.
SweetDelishFemaleAustralia2012-08-05 21:55:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2012 Filers

Heh.
The short and flippant answer is that geocaching is the art of using billion-dollar satellite technology to find Tupperware someone hid in the woods (or under a pile of rocks by a yucca, out here). The long answer is that it's a sport/game that uses GPS technology to hide containers (usually) in various places, register the coordinates (and clues) on a site dedicated to the sport (We're on Geocaching.com), and then find the geocaches hidden by others. It's a fun thing, because it combines getting outside with treasure hunts and, often, puzzles. My fiancee and I both participate - she's kicking my posterior with 364 caches found to my 306 - and since she went back to Portugal for us to wait through the visa process, I've been placing a geocache each month. Missing Caeliat #1, Missing Caeliat #2, and Missing Caeliat #3 are the currently active ones; I placed one this morning that's waiting for the local reviewer to approve.

Said reviewer goes by the handle of RoadRunner, and my fiancee met him yesterday, at the Lisbon Geocoinfest event. Apparently, after talking with him, she has a pair of trackable items from him to give to me. Really, it's a fairly fun sport, and geocachers tend to be awesome people who are all too happy to help each other (and 'muggles', as the adopted phrase for non-cachers tends to be) out without any real complaint. (One relatively popular kind of event cache is a CITO - Cache In Trash Out - where people who attend clean up the garbage in a given area for proper disposal.)

Wow.. that sounds interesting. my world feels really small right now. haha. Is that how you two met?
SweetDelishFemaleAustralia2012-08-05 18:27:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2012 Filers

If it were something I could afford to do, I totally would've gone to Portugal to stay with Tess and worked on an I-130 instead - but the economy's even more in the pits here in Nevada than the rest of the country, so dropping my job like that wasn't really an option. Plus, that would mean leaving the pugs behind, and we both adore the pugs. (Plus I wouldn't be placing my set of geocaches for how much I miss her, if I had, which has apparently gotten the attention of the local reviewer.)

No pug should be left behind!

now the bolded.. please explain what this means.
