Got notice that as of June 24, they have ordered production of my new green card. I'm pretty shocked at how fast that was.

Looks like California is really whipping through them right now. Congrats.

Congrats :joy:  :joy: I am happy for you.

You are  the first one who got approved GC with the waived bio! Thank you for sharing your information. I was little worried about the applicants including myself who got their bio waived. I hope mine gets approved soon :)

I was worried for them to, as they started issuing bio appointments again. Hard to believe CSC is processing things so fast. Compared to the AOS a couple years ago, which took 8 months.

Congrats Caryh!! Glad to see some more approval! :)

I'm waiting to see an approval from a "waived" biometrics member...

Shouldn't be too long and some of the waived biometrics CSC cases should be coming up. I'm still very curious about this also, as the FBI considers biometrics current for 15 months, and this is supposed to be the standard used by USCIS.

Green Card production notice came yesterday. I'll take that as an approval, although the approval circle on the USCIS status hasn't changed yet. Hard to imagine they've ordered card production without approving it.

Hi guys, I finally got my biometric letter after 2 months waiting for it. Now i am wondering that can I come and do an early biometric around 1 week. Do I need to call them to ask about that or just walk in?

Also depends on your local office, some do not allow early walk ins.

Check out this thread

Just checked my case status online, it says on June 23, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Cant believe it was approved already. Im so thankful.

God is good :)

congrats! good to be done I'm sure. Just checked my wife's case and nothing yet, we're also at California.

It was kind of funny when I spoke to Tier 2 today.  She felt the need to explain to me that fingerprints don't change so they don't need them again.  Yeah... we all know that... but the process until recently was to take them again anyway.  Then she followed it up by saying that they would let me know if they decided later that they do need another biometric appointment...

I thought everyone knew that was to make sure us USCs don't go swapping out our spouses for a different model. I know it must happen every day.

Yes I am using the one from the bio letter.  When I called they said they use two seperate databases.  It just stinks that I cant track it online and I have to call the awesome folks at USCIS for updates.........

Particularly when it takes so darn long to get ahold of anyone, and the odds of getting someone who won't even look it up for you is high.

You're not the only one I've heard of that cannot look up their case.

CaryhMalePhilippines2014-06-20 10:38:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 April 2014 Filers

Is anyone still not able to see application status updates online?  The system keeps telling me it has no record of my case.  I have called and they tell me the last update is my biometrics being recieved.

I just think its odd that my case is still not available online.  :-(

Are you using the case number from your bio letter? It should be there, but sometimes a case will never get into the system they use for that. It appears to be a separate database the online case status is generated from.

A question, have we figured out if out if its just those that adjusted status in the USA that are getting the biometrics current and no biometrics appointment? Has anyone with a CR-1 from outside the USA doing their ROC, gotten their bio letter since mid April?

Guys, I got this update from uscis website:

On June 17, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

It is hard to believe... does that mean I'm approved?

Wow congrats to you! Yes thats an approval. Now I'm gonna be watching even closer. Last night I had this weird dream where USCIS officials were outside our door when I got home from work wanting to make sure we actually lived together.

The strongest evidence I could provide was a ton of medical records, which showed him as my husband and emergency contact and my severe depression and broken bones and other injuries.

    wow sorry you went through that.

No they did not put it on the letter which they should have.

They don't want people calling, and do everything they can to keep you from calling back when you call, but they don't do something simple like put your case number on correspondence so you don't need to call.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 April 2014 Filers

Hello guys,

I just checked my mailbox and USCIS gave me a very confusing letter. I probably have to call them again tomorrow but what they said is the following,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding above listed petition. USCIS records indicate that you have appeared for an ASC appointment on May 9, 2014. We also received biometrics on May 9, 2014. No action required at this time.

I have never gotten my bio letter from them or I have never had biometrics. I mean what in the world?

I was expecting a letter which shows my bio is current but nooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I am getting so tired of doing this...

Did they happen to put your case number on the letter?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 April 2014 Filers

hi guys, should I keep calling them and ask about the case number or I need to wait? Until now, I still haven't got anything (except the NOA1). So depressing:((

Yes, I'd call, just so I could track the case online. Have you been notified your biometrics is current and uploaded?

CaryhMalePhilippines2014-06-12 08:25:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 April 2014 Filers

I think that when the old biometrics are uploaded and look okay to proceed the new EAC number is created.

We see that some people on this forum got an answer saying that their old biometrics got uploaded. And some of us got an answer that they might use the old biometrics (meaning it was not uploaded/processed to the file yet).

So once biometrics are uploaded they can give you a new EAC number.

I think it is just a matter of time. I am sure that when my husband calls the second time in a month, they will give him a new EAC number.

That actually makes sense as to what they're doing. Doesn't make sense in terms of reducing calls to them though. This will actually increase the case load of calls related to removing conditions.

how long is the process to get approve? :reading:

From the CSC it appears mainly February filers are getting their approvals now, and even a couple March filers have. Theres even a couple November and Decembers in the recent approvals to. In a month or two, we should start seeing some approvals from April.

Vermont appears to mainly be on December and some Novembers. So it appears California is a good two months ahead of Vermont.

My mother in law was in her 30s when she took citizenship exam and it was compulsory back then to take the test in English.

If I'm not wrong even now one can take test in native language only after 50yrs of age adding to that there are some requirements.

Better check with USCIS.

My wife's English is probably better than the average American's, so thats not an issue for her. She's just worried about being asked questions

CaryhMalePhilippines2014-06-09 15:26:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 April 2014 Filers

I heard people who don't know English having a hard time clearing the test. My mother in law being one of them, She couldn't clear it as she couldn't read/write/understand English.

I thought they could take it in their native language, or have a translator?

I would give my parents address, that is my permanent address anyhow, since we have been moving around a lot. If his greencard expires before the time the new one is sent, he just has to show it along with the letter for proof of work authorization and travel ability?

Yes, read the NOA1 and you'll see its also the extension letter.

The immigrant is always supposed to have a valid address where they are residing on file. But your parents address sounds like your safe bet now with needing the receive the green card.

Yes CSC is fast! keep your fingers crossed :D

They were really fast when we did the K-1, back in early 2011. Then got really slow for the AOS. We can breath easy after this stage. My wife is worried about the test for citizenship already when we move to the next step, but I've never heard of anyone ever failing it.

CaryhMalePhilippines2014-06-09 13:38:00

I'm actually seeing that many February filers are receiving it, looks like it is taking about 3 months from biometrics date, to the day even. I will be moving in 2 months, should I change the my address now, or wait until a few weeks before we move?? (my confidence may just score me a required interview)

If you change your address before you can receive mail there, its gonna bounce back to them. You need to wait until you're actually moving. Not a good time to be moving, but I'm sure you knew that.

Thanks so much for your information :luv:

I wonder how having no bio would affect a process speed. No one probably knows yet since it started happening since sometime in April.

I doubt it will have much effect at all. Bio is usually done well in advance of adjudication of the petition. I just hope they stay on this fast track of processing the ROC petitions. You never know when something will throw the brakes on with USCIS and some petition types get ignored for many months.

You need to carry your NOA1 along with your expired GC.

The NOA1 for the ROC, is also known as the extension letter. A person could also make an infopass appointment and get a stamp in their passport, but most just carry the extension letter.

Well its called freedom of speech and this is an open forum so deal with it.

Just because its a pet peeve of mine, the freedom of speech given by the first amendment of the USA constitution has nothing to do with protecting what you wrote in a forum here. The freedom of speech you refer to has to do with the government limiting you. The forum itself, or even simple etiquette can limit your speech without infringing upon the first amendment. But its true when in an open forum, expect anyone to make any type of comment on anything

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Well the model in the barrel is just for demonstration purposes. But it should be more than enough to get you across the river.

She's always wishing she had my pale white color. There's no getting thru to her, that her color is beautiful. A real shame that, but I'm not going to break a lifetime of conditioning. But she does seem a little less concerned about getting into the sun that she was back home.

Thank you so much for sharing your thought :luv:

I actually did not came to the US on a K-1. I came here on F1 (student visa) and then AOS. I believe Nevin came here on F1 too.

I expected it would take a really long time to get my bio letter because of where I live; however some April filers who went though AOS start reporting their experience, I just thought I also may not need it.

I will definitely share my experience with you guys after I call USCIS on June 5th if I will not receive my bio letter until then.

Well my mention of the K-1, is because they generally had their last bio slightly over 2 years ago. The previously published maximum age for a biometrics to still be valid was 15 months. Meaning all K-1's and CR-1's in the USA needed the biometrics when filing to ROC. They've apparently extended this period, maybe something to do with the all electronic biometrics system they've switched to has been fully in place long enough to extend the valid period? It's all guesswork at this point.

CaryhMalePhilippines2014-05-29 10:48:00
Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 April 2014 Filers

So you think everyone who were told and I am still gonna need bio?

Maybe I will receive the no bio need letter, call and confirm USCIS and then they would tell me I still need it and then wait wait wait... :ranting:

I cannot wait for this gets done!

I'm really not sure, but I'm beginning to believe if you came on a K-1, your AOS bio is good. In the past you would have definitely needed it. Those of us who filed early in the month all got the bio letter. But now everyone is starting to report no bio needed. Which is why I say the unpublished change in policy of USCIS, and it does appear to be a real change in policy being reported. Previously I used to joke that the bio on ROC was needed to prove us USC's didn't swap out our K-1 spouses, but maybe USCIS figured out it was a joke to.

If our chart here included who came on K-1 and who was CR-1, it might be easier to make sense of this. We might even be able to lock onto a date when the change was began. Lacking an official word from USCIS on a policy change, we can only guess what's going on right now.

I assume I probably will receive a letter which tells me no bio need and I am just curious in that case, is USCIS going to refund my bio fee? Probably not...

I will call and find out that on June 5th though!

USCIS never ever returns any fees paid. Its your fault for paying for a bio you didn't need, which if you had not paid for with your application, they would have returned it.

Hello guys,

I called uscis customer service and received a mail saying that my biometrics is current and not necessary for me to appear at an ASC.

and they will contact me for any needed info, so waiting time now starts hope not longer.

From your timeline , your last bio was

Bio. Appt. : 2011-12-20

That's over 2 years, and the previously published time for a bio to be current was 15 months. Something must have definitely changed in the middle of April.
