QUOTE (Leo&Farah @ Apr 29 2009, 12:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You sound as meticulous and frugal as me.

I had made sure to read the RFE thread to learn from other people's mistakes/experiences.

As such, I made sure to include pictures of him with my family as I read someone got denied for lack of it before. I made sure to include all pages of his passport incase his birth cert didn't suffice for identification since there is a 'short' and 'long' version and his birth cert doesn't have a back page. I also included my (beneficiary) birth cert and passport photo page as I saw someone got an RFE for the beneficiary BC even though it wasn't needed at initial filing.

I also checked the versions of the forms to make sure they wer'nt outdated (seems like G-315a expires May 31st). Had my birth cert translated.

As for planning ahead, I have info ready to get the police certificate and a list of immunization shots to take while waiting so we have less hassle at the AOS medical.

Meticulous is an understatement for me HA! smile.gif) I actually have sent him my birth certificate which is already certified by our national registry just for whatever purpose it may do for him... I also sent with him my passport photocopies of it that is, all pages and will soon send him again another set as I am traveling for Singapore come Friday and to some other countries as part of my asian tour smile.gif) i already had acquired police clearances and such prior meeting him due to travels I needed to make out of my country before. Whew. Paperwork can be fun HA!

We are not using a lawyer.

VJ is full of folks that know enough to walk you through the whole process.

Of course, if your situation is complicated, that's an entirely different matter altogether. For us, we have no previous marriages, no children, no criminal records, we're fresh as newborn babies, so it should be pretty straightforward and a lawyer wasn't needed in our situation.

And glad to help. =)

Same as Brian and mine's as well. We're pretty "straightforward" as the case may be.

i had a lawyer and this was way before i found VisaJourney, i didn't regret it, we got approved without any issues.... don't be shy to post here if you have questions, this is why this site was created....

Hello everyone. My fiance is about to start collating all data needed as an attachment for the k1 visa we are about to turn in. We've already signed important documents such as letters of intent to marry, g325a, among others which he brought with him just a few days ago after he spent time with me here. We would just like to know how it would appear like before turning it in so we have the right thing done. Does anyone have a picture of what it would be like after collating the data?
Thanks very much for the help.

Well, the final package will be a thick stack of paper. It's different for every filing case, because we all have different situations. Some need to include divorce decrees, change of name documents, etc. Others do not.

Have a look at the VJ guides, and particularly the K1 Guide which has examples of many of the important documents.

Welcome to VJ, and once you get started on your journey please fill in a timeline smile.gif timeline.gif

Good luck!

Thanks! We already had looked into the link you gave and that really helped a lot. We are more confused on which fastener and folder to use. Sounds very mundane but we would like to get a head start on such little details that may be more of a nuisance when not followed. By the way, how many photographs did you submit for proof of meeting and such?

don't use any special fasteners, just use a paperclip, you can include 5-10 color pictures, most important is boarding passes, VISA entry/departure stamps, hotel receipts, etc....

Thanks! The folder is a standard short cardboard type too? The boarding passes and such you mentioned are all good, those are in the bag already. Will congratulatory messages from friends and family either in email or in facebook be of help as proof of relationship and engagement too? Just thinking ahead smile.gif)

not really, not at this point, USCIS only care about if you and your fiancee actually met in person within the last 2 years. any additional evidence should be brought to the interview, cardboard folder is fine...

I will take note of that! Gracias! So that means, all papers attached to I129F will "loosely" be collated? No two-pronged fastener will hold them together? Just clips and such? Really sorry for these questions blush.gif How many emails and chat logs are to be attached? blush.gif

[/font] g325a forms are completely filled by the US Citizen (the petitioner) and by the Foreign Fiancee(I129F applicant). K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Filing Questions
QUOTE (loveaboo @ Jun 13 2009, 04:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Thanks BrianandMerne for the reply.

Since I didn't live in Singapore for 6 months and more, it's fine if I don't include it in the list of residence for the last 5 years then? Ok, that makes sense...Thanks so much for that info.

About the passport, actually it wasn't stamped by the Singaporean Immigration with "exited" or whatever. Checking it out awhile ago, I realized that Singaporean Immigration didn't even stamp my passport when I exited. I'm guessing it could be due to the multiple entry visa given to me, which means I could go in and out of Singapore in that one whole year.

About #6 in the embassy link, my fiance didn't serve the military.

The last link is an error page...

My fiance and I were really worried that we might end up waiting for more days to file the I-129F if I'll have to send him a new g-325a signed form. Not only it will cause us a delay, it's also really expensive to send documents overseas. I know how expensive it will cost my fiance for him to bring me there so as much as possible, I don't want to add anymore expenses...

I really appreciate all the help. Thank you so much.

No thank you needed Girl! Anytime. Sorry about the error on link I don't why that wouldn't work sad.gif Nevertheless, that #6 is only to have you not worry about the Singapore residency question you have prior. Hmmm... Now about your "exit" stamp it seems weird to me that you have none. I have been to Singapore numerous times and have always been stamped EXITED. I just went again to Singapore May 2009 and spent the whole month there. Though I do not have your "extension" condition. As far as I have known over this past 10 years I have been going back to Singapore, visitor's visa had never been required.

I do have a multiple entry visa in another country and each time I go and come back home, I always get stamped for both entry and exit.

I wonder only though...

Also...checking now my old passport, it said "VISIT PASS with no permit to remain until August 2008 or enagage in any business profession without the work permit"...And I've read in another thread that extended trips are not included in G-325a, that's the reason why i'm so confused...I just really want to make the filing as easy and as efficient as it can be.

Anyone who was in the same situation, pls?

Thanks to all again...

Sorry, i think it's i messed that up...What I meant was the VISIT PASS was good until August 2008 with no permit to engage in any business profession without the work permit...It's a one year multiple entry visa.

Hi. You were never a resident in Singapore. You were only a tourist hence you are not liable to state in the biographic data form regarding your 10 week Singapore stay. Resident means you stayed at least 6 months in a different country other than the Philippines. Moreover, your passport was stamped by the Singaporean Immigration in the airport as "EXITED" when you left Singapore. Please read this link "http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3217.html" so you will get an idea on what is expected of you as the applicant of the K1 visa at the US Embassy in Manila. Please read #6.

For more ideas about the I-129F follow this link from USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD ... Underneath you will find the instructions on how to file and the petition form itself.

For more accurate information, click on the FORUMS link here on VJ and you will have a more than ample amount of information and sample forms to use for the K1 visa application.

For an idea how to collate all the papers together read this thread... http://www.visajourn...p;#entry2886924

Good luck to you and your fiance!

You can do it yourselves! VJ people have a lot to offer to direct you and your beloved on the process and the details along with it. We'd also encourage you and your fiancee to do the paperwork together and be knowledgeable of the steps associated with the process. It is one way to keep your anxieties associated with the "WAITING GAME" less daunting for both of you. I am speaking of our personal experience that is. By being aware of what lies ahead, there is less frustration.

Which reminds me, THANK YOU TO THE VERY KIND AND GRACIOUS PEOPLE OF VJ. The paperwork isn't as complicated as it presents itself to be. Your direction have been so much helpful.

So DO IT YOURSELVES, robmd!

Hi everyone! I have been following on this site ever since my fiance and i decided to get engaged and file for K1. It has been a month since he left from his second visit already, but he only filed the petition last week. When he was with me, we assembled the packet togther and made sure everything was in order (thanks to visajourney guide). However, I told him to enclose his birth certificate on the visa packet when he gets back to US. Since he can't find his BC, he sent copies of his passport instead. But then, he forgot to make copies of ALL pages, and just the biographic information on the first page with his signature, the stamps of exit and entry from his two visits, and the Philippine Visa he had on his passport since his second visit was more than 21 days in the Philippines. (it was a 3-month visit visa stamp to the Philippines which he filed at the Philippine Consulate in Florida).

Is it possible that we can get a RFE later since he forgot to send copies of ALL pages? I told him about this little problem but he asked me what do they need with BLANK pages of passport? Isn't the info page with signature and foreign country visa on his passport not good enough to prove that he is a US Citizen considering that on the foreign country visa it was indicated that his citizenship is US?

I hope you can give your opinion on this. Well, should they need ALL copies I guess we will be getting RFE then... But I just hate delays already. And I am sure everyone here knows how it feels to wait and be away from your loved one.

Thanks for your time!

Isza heart.gif

Congratulations for your both! And hopefully you and your fiance are going to be together soon.

As for your question.... yes most likely an RFE will come. Many a VJ member couple had been asked for it mainly because of the concern you are presenting now. I know exactly how you feel. But hang in there, many miracles happen on a daily basis.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Visa Application
I think there isn't any rule of thumb of how this is essayed. The more significant fact is proving the qualifications this visa demands. Specifically, proving the relationship before meeting, the couple's meeting within two years prior the petition is submitted and the ongoing relationship after the petition's submission during the interview of the beneficiary.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFront-loading - is it ever a bad thing?
Front loading or skimpily attaching with evidence I believe isn't the deal breaker here. It is attaching the right article and answering the inquiries on the petition paper correctly and the biographic information sheet. Add to these providing proof sufficient to declare that your fiance/e and you have met in person within two years of filing the I-129F.

I am sure you have what it all needs right there good.gif

We've two touches in a row since they received our petition and nothing after that. The next was simply the day after they supposedly sent our petition to NVC since they've already given approval. There was even one May 09 filer recently at CSC, I believe it was DaveandOksana, they never got a touch nor email. They just received their post mailed approval. Hey,

For women immigrating to the US, the HPV (Gardasil) vaccine is required for women aged 16-26. This is a relatively new vaccine, so the majority of women will not have had it prior to their interview.

My question is: The full vaccine is a total of 3 shots, with the last shot being administered 6 months after the 1st. I have scheduled my 1st shot next week - will the US refuse entry until the last shot has been administered? Do we have to wait until all shots are given? My interview is JUNE 19th, so my vaccination will NOT have been completed.

This stupid vaccine could potentially hold up my move date.

Thanks for your help!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBackground Checks, How Long?
Our petition has also been in background checks since Jan 9. Neither of us have any notable background history except that 6 months ago we tried for a visitor visa rather than a fiancee visa because we wanted longer to plan the wedding. But the visitor visa was denied. I hope that doesnt mean that we are going to be in security checks for another 2 months.

I'm not sure what to respond for question 9 on the I-134 affidavit of support.

Question 9 asks: Have I previously submitted an affidavit of support for anyone.

I submitted an I-134 from my fiancee for a visitors visa a few months before we sent in our 129F packet. Her visitor visa was denied. Should I put that I submitted a petition on her behalf? Whats more is when she was at the embassy for the interview for the visitor visa the officer said that he/she didn't need the I-134, then denied her, and after asked to see the affidavit of support. My fiancee isn't sure if the officer actually enter it into the computer or just glanced at it to see if it would have made a difference.

I'm concerned because my salary is close to the 125% and I don't want to make any mistakes.

When you arrive in the US instead of submitting your 129F petition ($455) and then waiting for it to be approved (could take 6 months), paying for the visa interview, returning to the US, filing for AOS ($1010), ect....... it was suggested that when you arrive (for a visit under the visa waver program) just get married within the 90 days that you can stay on the VWP and directly file for your Adjustment of Status (AOS). This has a few advantages it's cheaper (no need to pay for 2 round trip tickets and no need to pay for the petition or the visa) and you can stay!

Oh boy. Big time Noobie mistake.

OP: DO NOT Pay any attention to this HORRIBLE advice!
The above is VISA FRAUD and not recommended AT ALL!!!!

LEGAL: File a proper K-1, K-3, CR1/IR1 petition
LEGAL: Enter the US on a legal non-immigrant visa with intent to marry; marry; leave the country within the timeframe of your visa; file a proper K-3 or IR1/CR1 petition while outside the US
LEGAL: Enter the US on a legal non-immigrant visa with NO intent to marry, meet and marry someone while in the US in legal status, and apply for AOS while still in US

ILLEGAL: Enter the US with intent to marry, marry, file for AOS. VISA FRAUD RED ALERT.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStill a little confused
Basically you're correct (I'm assuming that this is a K1 Fiance(e) visa). After your partner (US Citizen) files the petition (you will need to provide some info.) it just become a waiting game. There is nothing that you need to do from Australia. But I might suggest something that was suggested to me by a USCIS officer at my local office AFTER we submitted our petition. This is both a less expensive and quicker process.

I am still a little confused on the process of this Visa! So my Parter files the petition.. then what? is there anything I need to do from Australia? or do I just wait until I get an interview? sorry! just trying to get a total understanding of this process!

Basically what I am trying to work out if I can do or not.. is go there in May get partner to file the petition while I am there.. and wait the 90 days im allowed there, then come home. Can I do that? Or will there be things I need to do back home in the meantime?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTime between NVC and US consulate
QUOTE (Sher&Alex @ Apr 30 2009, 08:35 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everybody-

Is it possible to know the statut of our case at the US consulate? NVC sent our case at end of March and I don't still hear about the packet for the interview and don't know date of interview too.

Thank you in advance for your experience !

I called the embassy switchboard and asked to speak to someone in the visa department directly. It took a couple of phone calls before someone answered the phone but in the end I got through. Also, it seems as if the embassy in Paris is working a bit slow. It has been taking them at least 3 weeks to weeks to process the paperwork. headbonk.gif

Hi everyone!

I think that my fiance forgot to write our case number on the applicant readiness form for the embassy (the one in packet three) Is this going to be a huge problem? Should he fax another copy if so, or just wait to hear from them? Thank you in advance!

I don't think that it will be a big problem as long as he signed it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview notification...
QUOTE (Jan&Rachid @ Jun 7 2009, 04:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the NVC or Embassy/Consulate will send me (the petitioner) a letter notifying of me of my fiance's interview date or is there only one letter about interview date sent to the beneficiary? Also, will the NVC know of the interview date once it is set by the embassy so that I can call the NVC to find that out? Thanks for any help. ~Jan~

The petitioner will not receive any notification from the embassy but you can track the progress by calling the department of state visa line at 202-663-1225 options 1,4,1,5,0. This will get you to an operator. Give them your USCIS or DOS case number and they will be able to tell you if the embassy has mailed Packet 3 or 4, the interview date, ect...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS Status Update
QUOTE (Wyld Blu @ Jun 8 2009, 10:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Just wondering about this. As we all know....USCIS is lax (understatement) about updating our online status. When I have called their useless call center, the recording says that the agents will have no more info than we can get online. Is this true? I mean, nobody knows anything about our actual status?
I was also wondering if anyone has had any luck getting more info via calling.

-Blu-(our tax dollars at work.)

My fiancee has already had her interview and her visa has been approved but the call center and online case status still just states "received and pending". The information coming out of USCIS is completely unreliable.
