K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproved!!! But worst timing :(

Thanks for all the indo guys.. I guess I should clarify I was employed last year working full time while attending school full time so according to my taxes from last year I did make much more than the required 125% over poverty level it's just these past 6 month this has not been the case :( but a co-sponser usually works as well or is there still stigma against this. Also thanks for the info on 1 month time delay by then I hope to have 2 paychecks under my belt and can get a letter from my new work. Thanks again guys you all always are wonderful!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproved!!! But worst timing :(

OK so I checked online with the wonderful folks at USCIS and our K1 was approved and they're sending me the NOA2 (yay)... now here is the issue.. I am about to graduate and start a new job in about 2-3 weeks. I've been a student with little or no income the past months and I tried to time our K1 so I will have had a job and built up my savings a bit. Now the approval comes 2 months early (yay) but I'm worried that I don't have enouhg financial security to make this happen. Maybe my mom could co-sign with me but does anyone know if I explain the situation, maybe even with the notification of my future employer that this will be ok? I don't want to be denied or have to wait longer for my finacee to come over :( Thanks guys

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-864EZ form

Hello guys, I am not at this stage but just getting ready to fill out my I-864 EZ form. If anyone could please help me with few questions I'll appreciate it. On part 3 for place of residence do I need to fill it out if its same as my mailing address, or should I put N/A on each field or just leave it blank? Same thing with part 7 (information on prepares) if I am the one who prepared it, do I need to feel out his information or leave it blank or N/A? Do I have to put N/A on each sub section or just the first part of the question?

I appreciate it smile.png

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC False Checklist??

Today I received an email from NVC that they needed civil documents which they already received last week. Im just worried maybe they lost it or something. Could this be a false checklist? Thank you

I think it is probably a false checklist, unless they ask you for specific document i.e birth certificate or something else then you can consider it as a true checklist. But just to be in safe side I would call NVC and ask them about it. I received the same check list and when I spoke to the operator at NVC she told me to just disregard the check list, so no harm in calling. good luck!

PCC is not required at NVC stage for Mumbai consulate\ Gujarat region. Ahmedabad passport office will not issue PCC without a checklist from NVC.

You can complete your case without PCC and bring PCC with you at the time of your interview.

So we won't receive any checklist from NVC?

Thanks for the reply

At that time he was living in Dubai, he got one from Dubai police department and Indian embassy on Passport also he has to get from India too. So his sister had to go to police department for my husband. First off all police department does not know what they were talking about so we told them it?s for US immigrate visa also we printed out this lick to show them. http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivinterview_preparation.html  we got PCC after two trips to police Station.

Thanks!

May be my wife can print that and take it with her, i hope it will work.

when you go to get PCC they do ask for checklist.. i got my pcc before my ds-260 was even filled out..this is what i showed them.. http://travel.state..../info_3830.html

Will they give her PCC in Gujarat by just showing that?

No you dont need a letter from NVC about PCC. You need to get it so that you can send it in to NVC. Somebody dont know what they are talking about and it needs to be an original. When you go for your PCC you tell them why you need it. I know for certain you dont need any letter from NVC I dont know how your country works about getting it.

Hey thanks for sharing! :) that's what I thought.

Anyone from India had any experience getting PCC? Were you required to show any proof in passport office in order to get PCC?

Hello guys, Can anyone please help me? So my wife has hired an agent to do all the paper work in india. This guy told her that in order to get the PCC from passport office, you have to receive checklist from NVC first :-/ I thought we had to send all the civil documents in order to not get any checklist. He also told her that if you want to get a PCC, you need a letter or something from NVC asking for it, so is it true? Is there a way we can get the PCC before getting checklist from NVC? I thought we had to submit the PCC along with all the civil documents in DS260. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks :)

There are a number of ways to print the evidence/proof of your on-going relationship. There isn't really any rule of thumb Gina. What you are doing is also correct. In my case however, I just "print screened" the chat logs and call logs we have all these months showing that my fiance and I are constantly communicating. I did same for the emails Brian sends me every now and then showing not the actual messages but only the folder which contains his emails to me showing chronology of our continuous love affair HA! innocent.gif

I am sure you are going to do just fine in your interview! Take care(F)

When this alleged person who is creating havoc in your life can produce a verified true evidence that either you or your fiancee are not legally bound to marry each other. This is the only absolutely legal way that I can surmise right at the moment. If this person, who has been causing you a myriad of trouble, can do this and prove it, then you and your fiancee have a HUMONGOUS problem

Craig,

Read on the attachment that I have for you hear AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO even without a third party, not even a lawyer.
YES Letter of Intent to Marry from each of you is VERY necessary. With that application you sent, both of you should have an attachment
that you and your fiancee are LEGALLY free to marry each other. That is the most important thing.

Hello everyone. My fiance is about to start collating all data needed as an attachment for the k1 visa we are about to turn in. We've already signed important documents such as letters of intent to marry, g325a, among others which he brought with him just a few days ago after he spent time with me here. We would just like to know how it would appear like before turning it in so we have the right thing done. Does anyone have a picture of what it would be like after collating the data?
Thanks very much for the help.

I can send you a picture of one of my copies of our submittal. You'll see a stack of papers with some papers paperclipped together, some sections held together with small binder clips, and then the entire mess held together with one big binder clip.

For our photos, I wrote the name on the back of each passport photo, placed it in a reclosable baggie and stapled that to a blank piece of paper and paperclipped it to the back of each G-325A form. For our How we Met photos, I placed each (sent 4) in a baggie and stapled that to a piece of paper which had the same photo printed on it with words undernead the photo describing the location. Onto the baggie, I affixed a small label which also had a brief description of the photo, like "Alla and Phil at St. Sophia Cathedral, Kiev, Ukraine" The photos were date stamped and I described the date in the description.

I sent our paperwork in one of those prepaid Tyvek USPS Priority mailing envelopes. You get a tracking number from the PO and can go online to track.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! The pictures would be much appreciated!

How to make the I-129 F petition folder to send to Immigration: how I did it:

Ok. This is what I had: the US Citizen will be the one doing all the work at this stage. All the foreigner has to do is sign 4 sheets of paper and submit passport pix to the US Citizen, so that the US citizen can start putting the application together.

First, I bought a manila folder, the kind that opens up, like this http://en.wikipedia....iki/File_folder.

On the cover of the folder I glued a sheet of paper that said, “ I-129F petition” . And I put our names on it.

Ok, now the inside of the folder:
First I put 2 holes at the top and I two hole punched everything, all the papers.
I fastened everything with the ACCO fasteners—
http://www.instaoffi...992-ctn.0.7.htm

Then I had dividers, the kind you put in a Binder with the colored tabs, they are three hole punched on the sides, but I 2 hole punched the top.. these kind of dividers: http://www.jiffysupp...Dividers/Detail

With these dividers they come with the sheet of paper that allows me to write in what the topic is on the tab.

Ok, so now for assembling—everything I am saying applies to the US Citizen—

A. The first thing you will put in the folder will be the I 129 Cover letter. This letter will look like the following (look below for example - edit it based on your needs. And make sure you put the right USCIS address on it—vermont, Ca, or somewhere else):

US Citizen name,address, number

United States Department of Homeland Security
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
Accurate address

Date

Nature of the submission: I-129F ORIGINAL SUBMISSION

To whom it may concern:
Enclosed please find my form I-129F, Petition for K-1 Fiance(e) Visa for (put your fiance(e) name here), and supporting documents.

Contents Include:

-Payment in the amount of $XX – whatever the current amount is—look here--it was 455, but it always increases:
http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

-I-129F Petition
-I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18, Explanation of meeting in person
-G-325A and Passport Style photograph (petitioner)
-G-325A and Passport Style Photograph (Beneficiary)
Letter Certifying intent to marry (Petitioner and Beneficiary)
Petitioners Birth Certificate
Petitioners Passport –(copies of passport and all the entry /leave stamps that sghow you visited your persons country)
-Letter Certifying intent to marry (Petitioner and Beneficiary)
-Proof of having met in person in the past two years (state the proof you are including)

Copies of documents submitted are exact photocopies of unaltered documents and I understand that I may be required to submit original documents to an immigration or consular officer at a later date.

Sincerely,

your name, sign it
---------------------

Ok, so lets talk about the contents of the package:
1. The petition –the I-129F petition- you the US Citizen will sign that petition.
2. i-129 F supplement: this is just a brief detail of how you met your honey.thats all—just type it up on a sheet of paper because that box they give you in the petition is too small. Sign it and date it.
3. the G 325 A- the Us Citizen will fill out 4 copies of it and sign each copy. The immigrant also needs to sign four copies of it and sign it. You will see how each copy says something different in the left bottom corner, like consulate, etc. Make sure you, the US Citizen send immigration the copies with the ORIGINAL signatures. So if you need to send the immigrant the forms to sign and then have that person send them back to you in the mail, that is what you will have to do.
Make sure you fill out these forms accurate and accordingly. Look here for
examples of how to fill out the form right.
This website is GOLD!!! Look at it because it gives you EXACT examples of what you will need: Look at how they filled out the I-129F petition and the G-325A.
http://www.visajourn...p;page=examples

4. You and your honeys passport pictures. Write your name in pencil on the back of your passport picture and on the back of the foreigners picture, write their name and “ No alien number” on the back of the foreigners pix cuz they probably dot have an alien number... When your foreigner goes to take his/her passport picture , make sure HE/She tells the photographer that it is for a US PASSPORT/Immigration, so that the photographer will give the foreigner the picture in the RIGHT size. It needs to be the right size.
So when you have the picture, and you have written on the back, stick it in a clear Ziploc bag. Zip up the Ziploc bag. Print a sheet of paper that has your name on it. Put the picture in the bag. And staple the bag to the sheet of paper that has your name on it. Do it for both pictures.

Proof of relationship:
You , the US Citizen, can include: used phone cards, copies of envelopes you have been sent through the mail, some emails, some Skype calls, pictures, your plane itinerary when you went to the foreigners country, the boarding pass, the stamps in your passport are proof, receipts of things you may have purchased while in the foreign land, the stickers they stick on your suitcase that show the destination, copies of the money receipts you have sent to the foreigner- like money gram or western union, post office receipts that show you sent something to the foreign country.

On the back of the photos, make sure you write your names, date, and where you were in the photo.

ASSEMBLING
So you will have the manila folder and all your stuff will be 2-hole punched at the top. Don’t STAPLE ANYTHING – only staple the Ziploc bag with the picture to a white sheet of paper that has your names on it. So you will only use two-3 staples.

Ok, you have your manila folder:And all your papers, including the dividers that are 2 hole punched at the top
1. get your cover letter , the one that says what is in the folder, example above. Type this letter (US citizen) and date it and sign it. turn it over.
2. get the divider and write i-129F on the white tab that comes with it. Turn it over.
3. get your 1-129F petition form. Make sure it is signed and dated by the US citizen, Hole punch it and turn it over. Take your 1-129F supplement, sign and date it and turn it over
4. get the divider and write G325A. turn it over
5. get the US Citizen G-325 As. There should be 4 with the same exact data, all with the original signatures and all signed. All 2 hole punched at the top . Flip them over
get the US Citizen photo. Write the name in pencil on the back. Stick it in a Ziploc bag. Staple the bag (make sure you don’t staple the actual picture) to a sheet of paper that has the US citizens name on it. Flip it over
get the foreigners G-325 As. There should be 4 with the same exact data, all with
the original signatures and all signed. All 2 hole punched at the top . Flip them
over.

Get the foreigners pic. Write the name in pencil on the back and write ,”no alien number”. Stick it in a Ziploc bag. Staple the bag (make sure you don’t staple the actual picture) to a sheet of paper that simply has the foreigners name on it. Flip it over

6. Get the divider and write : Letter of intent on the tab
7. print out the letter of intent to marry which should have original signatures by both of you. This is simply a three sentence letter stating that you and the other person plan on getting married within 90 days of receiving the K1 visa. The Us citizen can type the letter and email it foreigner. Foreigner prints it, signs it, and sends it through the mail to U S citizen. Then Us citizen gets that letter and signs his/her signature too—this way two signatures will be on the same page. Hole punch this letter and flip it over.

8. Divider – write birth certificate or passport . Flip it over on top of everything else that is flipped over.
9. Us Citizens birth certificate. If you don’t have it, you can submit a copy of the pages of your passport (copies- do NOT send the original of these document). On the copies of your passport pages, highlight the stamps which show when you visited the country of your foreign fiancé. Hole punch the copies and flip them over.
10. get divider tab and write : Proof
11. Now, put a sample of your phone cards on a photocopy machine and photocopy the front and back, if you have any. Hole punch, flip over.
B. Print phone records of the times you have called your foreigner or/anf when the foreigner called/texted the US American. Hole punch, flip over
C. Us citizen should photocopy plane itineraries, boarding passes, luggage tags. Hole punch the photocopy and flip over.
D. US Citizen should photocopy envelopes he/she has received from foreigner. Hole punch and flip over.
E. US citizen should photocopy money receipts he/she has sent. Hole punch and flip over.
F. US citizen should photocopy some emails that have been sent to each other. Hole punch and flip over.
G. US Citizen should photocopy receipts from post office showing he/she sent packages/letters to the foreigner.
H. US Citizen should submit pictures of the couple together – at least 2. Make sure you write your names and locations on the back of the pictures..Put these pictures in an envelope or a strong Ziploc bag.Seal the bag and punch two holes in the bag so you can fasten it. Flip it over.

That’s it. Now flip everything over and put it on the fasteners – the two pronged fasteners. Get a paperclip and attach your check/money order to the cover sheet in the folder. Everything is in order – make sure your pictures are not backwards. Make sure the check is the right amount.

Now, make two copies of this file—the petitioner and the beneficiary will need EXACT copies of the file. So now you, the US Citizen, will have 3 files which are IDENTICAL. Us citizen keeps one for themselves, foreigner will eventually get the other copy when the US citizen gives it to him/her, and the copy with the live check will go to USCIS.

Send it off in a waterproof enevlope--staples has them. Send it through the post offuice and get some type of signature confirmation so that you know for sure that it was received.

Send it off and wait.

I am most humbled with the time you have put into this gf97. What you have done has certainly made things a lot clearer for me/us. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! God bless you!

Amen to that.

It would be nice to finally exhale and relax after AOS before being plagued by more paperwork for removal of conditions. Sadly, that's a long, long way away from now. I'm just worried about how to coordinate the wedding and AOS in 90 days while having time and presence of mind to finally have a 'natural' relationship pace being in person. Seems like an oxymoron to me.

So much to do. Paperwork, flight arrangements, paperwork, packing, paperwork, wedding arrangements, paperwork, adjusting to life there, paperwork, AOS. Pregnancy will seem like a walk in the park after all this.

ONE STEP AT A TIME FARAH smile.gif) I am with you on that smile.gif

I'm pretty sure the police certificate you need for the interview later at the embassy will have to be recent, like within a 6 month frame. Not entirely sure but I think I read that somewhere so its common practice for people to get their certs after their NOA2 to make sure its up to date.

And sounds like you have a firm grasp on what's needed and are just sweating the small stuff like I do, for lack of things to do.

Never sweat the small stuff it is said HA! Yet, I we wouldn't be women to some degree if we don't HA! Yes, you are correct about the military/police clearance thing. I would like to think that I am just lucky to just go back in and have an old copy be re-checked and not having to wait for a while to see if my name is not on a "hit" list of some sort that has to be cleared for weeks on end HA! My heart goes out for those who have some "glitches" on these arenas, e.g. birth certificates and certifications of illegibility to marry and such. They may seem inconsequential but altogether a BIG troubling block if they happen to get unchecked.

You sound as meticulous and frugal as me.

I had made sure to read the RFE thread to learn from other people's mistakes/experiences.

As such, I made sure to include pictures of him with my family as I read someone got denied for lack of it before. I made sure to include all pages of his passport incase his birth cert didn't suffice for identification since there is a 'short' and 'long' version and his birth cert doesn't have a back page. I also included my (beneficiary) birth cert and passport photo page as I saw someone got an RFE for the beneficiary BC even though it wasn't needed at initial filing.

I also checked the versions of the forms to make sure they wer'nt outdated (seems like G-315a expires May 31st). Had my birth cert translated.

As for planning ahead, I have info ready to get the police certificate and a list of immunization shots to take while waiting so we have less hassle at the AOS medical.

Meticulous is an understatement for me HA! smile.gif) I actually have sent him my birth certificate which is already certified by our national registry just for whatever purpose it may do for him... I also sent with him my passport photocopies of it that is, all pages and will soon send him again another set as I am traveling for Singapore come Friday and to some other countries as part of my asian tour smile.gif) i already had acquired police clearances and such prior meeting him due to travels I needed to make out of my country before. Whew. Paperwork can be fun HA!
