K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPreparing I-129F

Here is the female version:

"Yo mom. Remember when you told me to stop playing with boys until I grew up? Well am now grown and will soon have a new household. Guess how? The joke is on you and dad. Hit me up if you have any follow up questions"

 that was a little comical relief for me.

Anyhoo, sorry about that. I thought TSC was still doing visa's as well?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPreparing I-129F
Well. For starters, I think you should tell your parents before you send off the information. My fiance and I just had to tell my parents that we were getting married. I am the US citizen, my fiance is from England. I can't really share many experiences with you as we've only just sent out our information this month. But, I can tell you that I was very afraid to tell my parents because my mom is a bit overprotective of me (I'm only 20 by they way) but, it was a lot easier than I had imagined. We told her and she pretty much said "As if I didn't see that coming." They're smarter than you think, and i'm sure they already have an idea about what's going on with you and your fiance. As far as CSC goes thats the same service center I am sending to. They are not the fastest in processing, but not the slowest either. I got my 1st notice only about a week after I sent my petition. I've seen some people get approved from there very quickly though. Just depends on how lucky you get.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of meeting in person is must?
Proof of meeting is pretty much a neccesity. Unless you can prove for certain circumstances that you were unable to meet in the last 2 years (like her country forbids you enterance or something). As far as evidence goes, you don't have to send only photos. You can send passport stamps, credit card statements, anything that will show she was in India at that point in time. If you stayed in a hotel together somewhere, a reciept from the hotel. Some people send phone bills to show that they've called each other, etc.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow long?
Yeah I knew about AP but I was worried about going that route. See my best friend who is going to be my maid of honour is studying abroad in Germany, and won't be back until May. So we can't get married until at least June, that would be cutting it close (if we are even approved by then) to get married and get the AP in time for him to travel.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow long?
Hey guys. Quick question.

I was wanting to make sure about something, after you get your visa approval, you have 6 months to "activate" the visa then 90 days from that date to get married right? Activation date being the day you leave for the U.S.
I just wanted to make sure because my fiance and I sent out our petition at the beginning of this month, and we found out that his sister is getting married next October. He obviously doesn't want to miss her wedding. I'm just afraid that if we get it too soon he won't be adjusted to permanent resident yet and won't be able to go back home for the wedding.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMailed I-129F - When Will They Receive It?
They can sign for it, for mine on USPS it actually told me the name of the person who signed for it. For those of you who haven't gotten it delivered yet, i wouldn't worry it was just a holiday they are probably a little backed up at the post office. The check most likely won't be cashed until after you recieve your NOA1.

As far as them saying they attempted to deliver, that happens all the time? I have seen a lot of people say they got that message! They'll probably accept and sign for it in the next day or two.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 or get marry in the US
I'm kind of confused how you have a visitor visa thats valid until 2011, because normally they're only valid for 90 days after entering the US? But, if you come on a visitor visa you are not supposed to come with the intent of getting married. It can cause you a lot of problems on down the line because it's hard to prove if you get married on one that you had no intentions on getting married when the non US citizen came over. I know normally it will take longer to process if you do go that route. Maybe someone can explain a little better.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresentering the United States
The last time my fiance came over, he had a connection in Cleveland then flew to Cincinnati. I guess it really depends on the airport. He missed his connecting flight to Cincinnati (had to get a later one) but it was only because his flight into Cleveland was an hour late and his connection time was only an hour. If they do miss the connecting flight most airports/airlines are very ontop of things, I called when I found out he was going to miss it (Tracked the flight online) and they already had him a spot booked on the next flight. He said customs only took him about 30 minutes though. Also, if you have a connecting flight they'll sometimes pull you out of the line and take you faster. I've had that happen before, they asked if anyone had connecting flights that left soon, and then pulled me out because my flight left in under an hour and moved me to the head of the line in customs.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE question

I didn't send that in either. Isn't all that checked in the consulate interview? There is no mention of the beneficiary birth certificate in the I-129F application.

Alright, thanks guys. That helps out a bit. I'm really hoping we don't get any because I tried to send everything with the original submission, i'm worried about the beneficiary birth certificate though, I didn't send it in, and some people have been getting RFE's for that. I can easily send that over from England though. I do have someone to check the mail for me and watch out in case though!

It's not mentioned on the application no, but i have seen people recently get RFE's for not sending it in. I guess it just depends on the person who reviews your application.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE question
Hey everyone,
Do you guys have any idea how long you have to send an RFE back in? I am going to England for Christmas from Dec 9 - Jan 9, it seems as though for the normal time its been taking them to process, we *might* be approved within that frame. Or, we might receive an RFE in that time period. I'm kind of worried about the dilemma of possibly receiving an RFE when i'm overseas. :help:

Thank you!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC Moving Backwards
Geez. CSC really are on top of things... Unfortunately with all the holidays and stuff it probably will slow down a bit, but going backwards in timing is just a bit strange. Maybe the found a file cabinet they forgot about - or skipped all together? Anyway, I hope you get approved soon, May is a major long time to be waiting since. If I were you and you haven't already i'd be contacting a few higher up people (senators or something).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing dates....What the hell???

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gotta love the government offices and their enthusiasm for work! I think CSC needs to kick it up a notch and catch up with the processing times of VSC! The fact that Christmas is coming won't help much either, i'm sure this is their least productive time of the year.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI should move to Virginia
I have seen some people around here get approved with NOA1 dates around yours. Hopefully your approval will come soon.

Anyway, it's murphey's law, if you moved to Vermont and refile you'd get a freak case that'd take 4-5 months to get an NOA2 on most likely.

Although, I really don't understand my case. I live in Ohio and have to send mine to Nebraska-California. Vermont is much closer! Stupid government!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFemale USC vs. Male USC

I'll let you know if they make any comments at our interview in Rio. I doubt they will though. In Brazil the risk of fraud is probably mail order brides and much older men, honestly. I think being a girl would make it easier at the interview.

I'ts not like in the ME/NA where so many men scam older women into marrying them. I'm not saying that's the case on VJ, I'm just saying that relationships of older women and younger men in that region can send up a red flag. So in the ME/NA I'll bet fraud is less likely to be suspected of a male USC.

Doubt that's true in our region.

Sorry, am I missing something here or what is ME/NA?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion

In the View My Timeline feature on this site.
Where it states your I 129F may be adjudicated as early as Jan 11 2007.
Does that mean everything my interview and the Fiance' Visa in my hands
Exactly what does that date mean

Thanks Allie

That's probably meaning NOA2 which is the approval to be sent to the foreign country.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresnon-binding religious wedding allowed?
I've heard a lot of people talking about doing this. Just make sure that the government doesn't think you are already married when the beneficiary comes over or else it could cause problems.

midicatFemaleEngland2006-12-12 16:43:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes the USCIS (secretly) discriminate based on age?
I agree, i'm thinking no age discriminations. I am 20, my fiance is 21. We haven't gotten approved yet, but we haven't been denied either. I agree that as long as you are able to marry you should have problems. In the states you are legal to marry when you are 18, so why would this be any different?

Anyhoo, good luck on getting approved soon! You should be, i've seen a lot of septembers recently. I'm hoping they start Octobers soon!!
midicatFemaleEngland2006-12-11 17:20:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Visa question
Well if you want to marry in the US you will need a K1 visa, I believe if you marry in China you would have to apply for a k3 visa. Onto which i've heard people say k3's take longer to process. Possibly someone knowing more about China can be more help.
midicatFemaleEngland2006-12-17 12:13:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy employment last 5 yrs on G-325? SELF-NONE?
Yes you are describing self employed. I have seen others on here go that route.

However, you say that it shows no income on your tax returns the last 5 years. This will be a problem when you get to the point that you have to fill out the affidavit of support because you have to show your tax returns to show your sufficient income (Which has to be 125% above poverty level) to support your fiancee. I'm not sure how you would get around that, maybe someone else with a similar situation can elaborate more.

I also agree with the fact that you can probably do it without a lawyer. Unless you have some really strange case you probably won't be needing a lawyer that will fleece money out of you to fill out a few pages and send them in. You'll probably still be in charge of gathering all the evidence needed. So you'll be doing a large part of the work for the visa. They have guides on here to show you exactly how to fill out all the forms and even templates for the other pages that you should include. It took me about a day to gather all the information, make photo copies, etc. and send it out, without a lawyer!

Good luck in your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresvisa interview scheduling
I think if the NOA2 petition approval is expiring then the consulate automatically extends the expiration date on it for you. I've read that from someone else on here before. I'm not sure about scheduling the interviews though. Good luck!
