K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJanuary Filers - Makin' It To The NVC

I just got an email from an inquiry i had made earlier from the NVC.

The file is now on its way to new delhi :)

now my question: why can't CSC be like NVC? lol

will keep ya updated

Great news!!

K1Journey - let's be in touch because our time lines are almost same. New Delhi is really good about returning emails. I got response back within 24 hrs. They said that they have received the paperwork from NVC and will be scheduling the interview for my wife soon.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJanuary Filers - Makin' It To The NVC

Our case was not in NVC system yesterday, but it is there today, and I got our new number, but the lady on the phone there scared me so much with what she said. She said, that our case is undergoing an additional administrative review by Washington agencies due to 11 September...but then I asked her if it is done to all cases or to some cases, and she said to all...which makes me feel a bit better.
She also said there is no predictable time when it will be cleared. I asked her when it makes sense to call again, and she said anytime. These scary words about an additional administrative review in Washington - is it their standard reply? did they say this to anybody else whose cases are already sent to your consulates? or did they use different wording? :help:

not to my case !
In fact, the rep didnt really say anything unless I ask her ... including my case no.

btw ... my case went wrong before but it was fixed. I called NVC at 8am EST today and the lady told me that my case has been sent to the HK embassy. I got a correct NVC case no. with the code "HNK"

I think you should call back and ask again, see if other rep tells you the same thing. or you may email NVC to clarify the situation. I emailed NVC 2 days ago and got the reply today. The rep answered my question in details !!

email add: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

good luck to you !

My case was received at New Delhi on May 15th.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much relationship details did you include in your K1 petition?
I'll be sending my 129f form in hopefully sometime this week. My question is: Since basically the only question they ask about your relationship is how you've met in person during the past 2 years, did anyone else include any other details. Like how and when you initially met (mmorpg in our case), etc. Guess I'm asking do i need to send them the detailed history of our relationship or just say yep we met in person on these dates. I can easily prrove that we met in person by sending boarding passes, passport pages, photos etc.

I'm also reading conflicting info about how much to send in this petition. Some say just the proof of meeting, others say they sent proof of relationship. I can send screenprints of our Skype logs which shows us talking hours every night. We never use regular phones due to cost so there are no bills. We rarely send emails cause we talk constantly on skype or IM. I do have months of IM logs too but since those are VERY VERY (did i mention VERY) private I'd rather not send those.

Any suggestions? I want to get this right so i can have my soulmate in my arms forever as quickly as possible!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of relationship in electronic format?
QUOTE (Hannah+Vito @ Sep 13 2008, 09:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
its my understanding from whats been said on here they wont accept it. better to just print out a few selections, maybe a few from each month and you don't have print out the entire chat just sections or the overview of chat history. so they can see you chatted this day and that day ect

Printing out a sampling doesnt prove a damn thing really. How does printing out a few days of chat here and there prove anything? Anyone *not* in a real relationship can fake a few chats here and there. You cant fake months and months of logs totaling 1000s of pages which is what we have. I guess our best course of action is to print files monthly and keep in binders just in case they ask for it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of relationship in electronic format?
Has anyone ever brought to an interview or submitted evidence of ongoing relationship in electronic form such a cd? I ask because one of the main forms of communication between my fiance and I is msn messenger. We already have hundreds of pages of IM logs. I imagine by the time he goes for his interview sometime next year, we'll have truckloads of pages if we printed it all out. It would seem that a CD would be so much more "managable". Any thoughts?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCriminal Record for Petitioner
QUOTE (pushbrk @ Nov 26 2008, 10:07 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
[You were not asked if you "committed" anything. You were asked about whether you had been "convicted". Only if the appropriate answer was, "yes" were you requested to send any court records. You petition will not be denied for a criminal conviction anyway unless it was a sexual crime against a child that falls under the Adam Walsh Act.

At worst, you've confused an adjudicator and delayed your case adjudicatation by including the unnecessary record. Somebody is going to have to take some time, (maybe only minutes, no way to tell) evaluating why you checked no and provided a court record. Since that person won't be an attorney and probably is pretty junior, they may need to escalate to a more senior officer.

Too bad you didn't ask about this before filing. In the future, please read carefully, interpret literally and follow instructions exactly.

Yes I was convicted of the assault charge, not just charged. And I probably would have still included the records I did regardless of what anyone said here. I included a letter stating why I was including my court records. "In order to disclose any criminal history" so they wouldnt think I was hiding anything. Which I'm sure they would have found out about anyway when they ran my background check.

This didnt have anything to do with a child or domestic violence so I hope you all are correct when you say the petition wouldnt be denied.
niniel71FemaleUnited Kingdom2008-11-26 10:26:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCriminal Record for Petitioner
I am the petitioner (US Citizen) with a misdemeanor assault charge on my record. I have been scared to death that our petition will be denied because of this. On the I-129f, I checked the box NO when it asked about if I ever committed those crimes listed, because it wasnt listed there. However I did include with the petition a certified copy of the charges against me, as well as a notorized letter from the "Victim" stating it wasnt related to any type of domestic violence charge.

I suppose there's nothing else I can but wait a few more months. What does everyone think? Is it a big deal? I am a female and my fiance isnt worried about me abusing him! lol

I'm wondering if they'll want some type of waiver or more court documents. The form instrucitons is very vague in this area. The only place where it asks for a waiver is related to IMBRA filing limitations.

All of you without skeletons in your closet should consider yourselves lucky! I am very worried. And it annoys me greatly that my future happiness is in the hands of someone in California who could care less about me.

I did it much like you. cover letter, I-129f, supplements, Our G325's all in the first section, itinerary, passport, supporting evidence for having met and pictures to go with it all in the center. The last section I put birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce decree.. etc...

Kim - can I ask why you included your marriage certificate? I didn't think you had to include that and would hate to get things wrong .. helpsmilie.gif

Same as me. I need to show proof that my last name was changed from my previous marriage.

It seems rather redundant to include a marriage certificate when the divorce papers from the previous marriage are being submitted as well. The divorce papers proves there was a marriage hence prompting the name change. Is the marriage certificate really needed?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCosts associated with interview/medical
Trying to search online to verify the cost of the medical exam in the UK for my SO (He will be going for the interview). I have looked at the London Consulate Flowchart on this site. it states 190 pounds. Just wondering if any knows if that is still a current price?

Also what are the costs for the actual interview? Is there a separate cost for that?

What other costs are there? I have read about a courier fee to have the visa sent after the interview?? Does anyone know the cost associated with that?

I am just trying to get a total cost for everything.

If anyone has this information or can point me to a link for it I would be very appreciative!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have read through the guide about the I-134 being acceptable for "Evidence of Financial Support". My question is this....do I need to mail my fiance an ORIGINAL I-134? US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHow long does it take them to mail a visa????
My fiance (beneficiary) had his physical and interview (US Embassy in London) in early February 2010. He was told at the time of his physical that he needed a letter clearing him from Cancer that he had when he was a child (which he is in perfect health and has been for a long time). He was also told he needed an eye appointment and glasses. He was told that he could proceed with the interview (which was already scheduled for the following week). His interview went well, the gentleman that interviewed him was very nice, could see that we were really in love and that all they needed was the letter from his physician stating that he is in good health now. He was given the address for his physician to mail the letter to the embassy. He contacted his physician, told him what he needed and the letter was sent off to the Embassy in London on March 15th, 2010. We had heard nothing from the Embassy about his visa being issued so he called the middle of April. Standard response was "things take time, be patient". So, we waited a few more weeks and called again and got the same response. He has called the past 2 Fridays and gotten almost the same response "we can see that it should be mailed but it hasn't and we don't know why. be patient, things take time".

I hope I have done a decent job with the details of our problem with the Embassy. Forgive me if I haven't. I'm just a little worn out with it all.

My questions is:
When is it time to not be patient? I mean, can this thing drag on for months? Anyone else had a similar situation?

Any help/advice would GREATLY be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

This is not lost time in your relationship. I know you would give the world to be together. When you can't be it seems as if there is a giant hole in your life.... this is the nature of love. Like purifying gold and it is taken through the fire it becomes purer and purer with each firing. The same goes with your relationship. Is it easy no... not at all, but this is not an unending goal it does have a finish line it will end. With each day and moment that goes by you're one day closer to being together.

How have we survived the journey. Simple take each day as it comes and like any journey keep putting one foot in front of the other. Before you know it this will be over with and you'll be together. This is not just a HOPE but rather it's a promise. I can tell you, you will make it. Hang in there.

Sorry you're having a hard time viknkam but I don't think it will take too much longer. I have been waiting 3 months and blah blah (look at my sig) too.

I know it's hard because of the people getting approved in here, then you start to think, "where's mine?" and become upset.
And sorry your fiance is working so hard for nothing. So is mine.

It's hard for all of us... the not caring about working out, the finding it hard to put on a happy face at work... yes, me too.

I know how you feel but dwelling on the feelings won't help anyone least of all ourselves.

For what it's worth your wedding sounds cool... traditional Indian weddings sound amazing and intricate. That is truly something to look forward to no matter when it happens (I dont think it will take as long as you are worried about...) I know it makes stress but at least this huge celebration will be for you and him.

For what it's worth, #2, nobody gives a stuffing that I'm engaged in my country or my fiance's. I feel kind of ripped off, my one chance to be special you know and nobody cares... but if my fiance were here to hang out with that would be cool enough for me tongue.gif

I agree with you! I'm just thankful that 3 months has nearly already gone by. I spend my days thinking about the fact that the long wait to be together is almost over. It has been 2 years since i have seen my SO. Maybe I'm the minority here but I'm just happy that the process has started! I can't afford to let myself wallow in pity. Have to stay focused on the tasks that are yet to come. Will all be very worth it in the end.

As for no one giving a stuffing that your engaged. I have the same thing too. Totally know what you mean about feeling ripped off. Nothing you can do about it though. Just makes me feel closer to my SO.

Anyway, thats my two cents worth.

Wish everyone lots of luck.

Thanks! I couldn't imagine being apart for more than a few months. The last time I saw Vik was my birthday- March 3rd. The hardest thing is knowing that I will be so close him- a 8/9 hour plane ride and HE can make the effort to come see me and introduce me to his family and friends in India. I have been over to see him, but for a change- it is possible to spend that time that every couple should get before a marriage, and it might not happen. That has been making me very sad. I'm sorry, I'm grateful that I have him in my life, but with the USCIS there are no guarantees and nothing is certain. To fly from here to India is 23 hours, and for him to meet us there would be ideal. Worst case scenario, I would be able to see him and wait another few months knowing that he is real and to share the love that is soo hard to express over a phone call. I'm sure you all agree that if there was an opportunity to make your SO happy and smile, then you would do it- so then, how can I sit here and know that I do everything in my power, and he.... It's all unfair and I don't care if you all light candles or pray for the USCIS reviewers- I resent them. They have made my life hell and sucked the fun out of being apart. There isn't much more of this that I can endure. What is there to talk about anymore? Tell me?! The thing that is on our mind is - when will we be together? I feel like the Berlin wall is between us and we are fighting the battle that does not end. What I want to know is- will I at least be able to spend his birthday with him (September 25th)? I have maxed out my PTO days, and I can't travel much more if I want to be able to take time off for the wedding. I know I am sharing a lot with you all- and we have never met so please be patient with me, but who else would understand the frustrations of it all?

We all had some idea of the process going into all of this. I guess I am better at handling it than others. This whole thing is just a process. Its what we have to do. How have the USCIS reviewers made your life a living hell? Have you had problems with them?
