I'm going to India on either the first or second Friday of August to be with my wife for her interview and related proceedings. I can't wait! Congratulations and good luck Citizen.. My case got to Delhi embassy almost a month ago and still no interview date. Sandip delhi embassy s***** i m fed up 2 weeks they received my packet n yet no interview date n no packet mailed to me its rubbish i feel I feel for you. This sucks did u all try to email them or call them for calling no one just picks there phone and everytime i e mail them they reply via automated response and that response gives links to various pages of there website i can even copy paste that stupid thing they reply Mala, Yes, she got police certificates. Do I have to accompany my fiancee during the interview process in Bangkok, THLD.? Is that a requirement or it is something that might benefit the outcome? I live in California, USA. Asia: South	God is GREAT...Visa Approved	Just a really really quick message to everyone to let you guys know that Manoj had his interview this morning and he was approved. They told us we can pick up the passport on tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest from the VFS office. I will post a more detailed interview post later but I wanted to say thanks to all of you who uplifted us in prayer and sent your well wishes. Thanks again. CONGRATULATIONS Nope, my wife hasn't received it yet and I am sure that she never will. Even my lawyer here in states hasn't received it. My wife mailed all the paper work mentioned in P3 to embassy and they got it today. l am hoping that they will go ahead and process it but you never know. Been two months!! ya , think it depends on the consulate always, compared to other consulates chennai always have few K1 & K3 visas not more than 10-20 in each category and hardly they interview 25 applicants per day. Asia: South	police clearance from passport office and police - mumbai	Hi all, Is the police clearance from district police different from police clearance at passport office (Mumbai Embassy)? Are both required or can one be substituted for the other? As my fiancee and I get ready for this step, would appreciate anyone from Mumbai or India who went through this recently. Does it take a while to get both clearances? Will it be okay to send in packet 3 if we are just beginning to apply for these clearances or should we wait until we have the clearance in hand? Please advise. Much thanks. u need both of them district police certificates are different from passport police clearance certificates she needs both of these from places she is staying since age of 16 yrs also u do not need them not she will be asked in the interview for these . I agree with Mala. We got district police certificate and also from local passport office. They stamp it on your passport at the passport office. It is all up in the air with them. I don't know if you read my previous posts but seems like this process is different for everyone. My cousin has exactly same case as mine and same time line. His wife didn't have to fill P3 or none of the #######. They directly scheduled the interview for her after receiving the case from NVC. Go figure that one.. Good luck!! According to DHL New Delhi received our P3 on June 10th and I got email from them 2 days ago stating that they didn't get it. I hope our case number is in there. i know how i wish your wife n me both have interview same day that too in july it can be encouragement for both of us btw are u attending interview with your wife ????? i told my hubby not to leave his work n come here there was no fun in having huge losses coz lately touchwood our embassy has been nice n sweet to people if our paperwork is complete they dont harass us much here Well, I heard back from Delhi. Just my luck, even though a completed copy of Packet 3 was delivered via DHL to them 10 days ago, they are saying that they never received it. They have dispatched another copy to my wife which she is never going to get. She is going to Delhi in next couple of days to submit it. Does she need to make appointment or something. hi sandip, packet 4 will be e mailed by registerd post which takes time by delhi embassy to your wife they will never give packet 4 from window even i didnt get reply from embassy so i personally went to new delhi embassy help desk n asked them hope that helps, mala Mala, My friend went to delhi embassy last week and was able to pick up Packet 4. I have got a different problem now, my wife's visa expires on Aug 11th. I don't know what will I do if she doesn't get a inteview date before that. sandip i didnt understand your wifes visa expires ? for which country isnt she a delhite or is she in visitor visa in us ? Mala, She is in India and will be going to Delhi embassy for interview. K3 visas are only valid for 4 months. Her K3 was approved on April 12th and will expire on Aug 11th. That way you know it will get there and it will probably be faster then any mail courrier. I haven't sent anything to them yet, but perhaps you want to list the type of Visa you want on the envelope to help them route it? And maybe you want to mention your NWD case number. For example: Consular Section Immigrant Visa Unit for K-3 Visa NWD######## U.S. Embassy Shantipath, Chanakyapuri New Delhi - 110021 Anyway, thats what I would probably do - not sure if its right or wrong. Asia: South	Packet 3 Mailed New Delhi	Alright!! My cousin is in a exact same boat I am in. His wife is in India, going thru New Delhi. She never received Packet 3 and within a week had interview scheduled after the paperwork arrived in Delhi. On the other hand, I was just told that Packet 3 has been mailed to my wife, we have to submit it and after that they will schedule the interview. I was hoping for July but I don't know anymore. I think I am going to have her overnight Packet 3 early next week. I am really frustrated. This sucks!! Sandip, Is your cousin going for a CR1 visa or a K3/K1 visa? The packet 3 process for them are slightly different. For a CR1 visa packet 3 is actually the DS230 documents that need to be mailed to the NVC, where as with K3/K1 packet 3 is sent after the embassy received the file from the NVC. If your cousin is going for the exact same visa as your wife, then I'm not sure what the disconnect is. Good luck though! That is what weird about it, he is doing exact same visa "K3". Asia: South	I - 129 approval expiring..	hello all, I just wanted to pass out this information.. basically, my I129 approval is valid until 8/19/07 and our visa call is on 8/23/07. I emailed mumbai embassy and asked them if the consulate can extend the validity of my approval OR if this will become any issue? I got a reply after 2 days saying that "This will not be an issue. Do not worry too much" has anyone faced this situation or a different respone from any embassy in India? I told my wife to print out this email and she will take it to the interview just incase those people make a fuss abt anything I emailed Delhi embassy and have not received any response yet. Asia: South	Emailing delhi embassy for K-1 Information Packages (Packets 3)	Personally, I would not tamper with the Mumbai packet's info (like changing address etc). Hopefully when the time comes, you will get the correct Delhi packet. Or, you can send in the Mumbai checklist with a cover letter explaining how Delhi's checklist was not available. Besides the checklist, all other docs are identical (DS-156, DS-230 etc.). Anyone who has gone through Delhi who has the correct packet saved on their computer? I have Chennai's packet 4 but that doesn't help you does it. I am not sure if it is big deal but I didn't even send the checklist from Mumbai embassy. I would not temper with Mumbai P3. I did attach a letter mentioning that we have all the paper work required for the interview and also I attached a copy of checklist from Delhi embassy with it. Hope this helps!! But I am serously thinking of using the Mumbai Packet 3 and just changing the Name and Address of the consulate. Did you packet 3 look like mumbai's with the exception of name/address of consulate?
