If rejected, they will sent the whole thing back to you, including your check

I am wondering if you made a copy of the entire packet you sent in? I copied everything as the guides suggest, including my check. This helped the night after I mailed it when I woke up in a cold sweat wondering if I signed my check.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChange of address for beneficiary
Quick question. I am the sponsor but my fiance has recently moved. We already submitted our I129F. Do I need to change his address with the USCIS? If so, where do I do this? I have looked on their site but if its there I must be missing it. I know there is someone wiser than me out there that can answer this question. Thanks in advance!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAddress change
I am the US citizen (sponsor) and my fiance has recently moved. my question is this-

Do we need to change his address with the USCIS? I posted this question previously and got a reply saying that I could wait to change it with the NVC since USCIS wouldnt be sending him anything anyway. Will the NVC send me something before the packet is sent to the Embassy in London? Will I get a chance to change it before it goes over there? He did not chose to have his mail forwarded from his old address to his new address. I am worried that the packet will go to the embassy in London and all information be sent to his old address.

I did look on the USCIS website at the change of address form and it states at the top of the form:

"Most non-United States (U.S.) citizens who are in the U.S. are required by law to notify DHS of any change of address within 10 days of moving to a new address."

Clearly states non-United States citizen who are IN the U.S. are required....." . He isnt IN the U.S. yet.

HELP!! my head is spinning!

Thanks in advance

United KingdomRegistering new baby with British Embassy and all that good stuff
Does anyone know the process of registering and obtaining a British Passport for a child born to a BC mom (Me) and USC dad (DH) in the US? Ultimately I would like all our children to at least retain British National Status which I realize does not prevent a child from having dual nationalities or prevent him/her from holding both passports. Baby is due in late March and we would like to travel in late July back to Egland to visit grandparents etc... so anyone know what we need t do? I htought we were done with the whole immigration process but I guess not.

Chinawant to know about Hong Kong Tourist Visa
I'm not from Hong Kong however I am familiar with the immigration process as I hold dual nationality and residency, one of the countries being Hong Kong. You might want to check this website http://www.gov.hk/en...ation/index.htm It has all the official and updated information you might need. I am curious though why you would want to stay so long, are you planning on working? If that is the case you would need to apply for work permit while you are there. They are very public and cracking down on that more than they do in the US. Anyway, all that is on the website too.

You may want to check with the Embassy's website to make sure this is still what they do, but when Suj's visa was approved they took his passport and he received his passport with visa in it just a couple days later by courier.

OH Boy,

It took you almost 4 months after receiving the approval. My wife will also be going thru New Delhi. I was hoping that it will take 2 or 21/2 months. Lets see what happens.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

I'm confused. You mean the I129-F approval?

Because his visa was approved the same day as the interview.

I think he is saying it took approx 4 months from when NVC received the application and assigned a case # to when they got the interview.

Sandip's application just got to the NVC recently.

hi everyone,

can anyone pls tell me how much time does police clearance certificates takes

i m totally bugged up its 3 times i went to police station they call me again n again for something or the other it feels so risky to go there alone i have to keep taking my parents
, they havent even submitted my application yet ,
is it some chai pani thing , i feel that way now , how much chai pani they take approx.. ??

and one more thing i need to get passport clearance certificate too can someone pls let me know the procedure for this one ,

thanks a lot,
Mala

Yes, it is a chai pani thing or find some influential person. I paid around 2000 RS. to get the local police certificate and another 1000 RS to get it from the passport office. Applicant has to go to the passport office and fill out an application for certificate. usually, it only takes a day to get it. Since, I paid someone to do it my wife didn't have to go there.

Asia: SouthNew delhi embassy

Hello,

The consulate at Delhi informed me thru email that packet 3 was mailed on may 31st to my fiance's Dellhi address. Its been 3 days and she hasnt received it. Does the consulate use courier services ? How long doe it normally take ? How long should she wait before going there for inquiry as no one at delhi picks up the phone
Thank you for your response.

I got my husband's case number by calling the NVC before it left. It will help you when you call the Embassy if you already have it. We were originally told that the interview would be scheduled in the first or second week of the month following the submission of packet 3. However, that was not the case. Hubby turned in his packet 3 on April 4 or 5 (can't remember which date now) and his interview was not scheduled until next month. Now I understand why based on the statement from the New Delhi Embassy that there has been a shortage of visa appointments in both Delhi and Mumbai based on "unqualifed visa applicants" as they put it on the website.

The good thing is that If for some reason she hasn't received packet 3 within a reasonable amount of time after they have couriered it, she can pick it up directly from Window 4 at the embassy. hope this helps.

Good luck and many blessings for you.

Since I hired a lawyer, I was told that a copy of Packet 3 was sent to him too on May 25th but he hasn't received it yet. I am having my wife send DS-230 part I, DS-156 and copies of her passport to the embassy tomorrow.

My case was received at New Delhi on May 15th and they have not mailed the packet yet. For some people they schedule the interview after receiving Packet 3 and for some they directly schedule the interview. I hope they don't wait for the Packet 3 for my case. I don't know why it is taking so long, our K3 was approved on April 12th and has been month and a half and no interview date.

Sandip

Sandip have you called the embassy yet to see if they have mailed it? We thought the same thing and they had actually attempted delivery when hubby wasn't home. He was able to pick the packet up from window 4. Also the post I made about the embassy statement the other day should explain why it's taking so long to get an interview. The way I see it, it must be a pretty serious problem for the embassy to be prompted to make a statement about it on their website. My suggestion would be for you to check with the embassy to see if they have attempted delivery and whether or not you can come by and pick up the packet.

Late last week I emailed the embassy and receive an generic email stating that they hope to schedule my wife's interview in the forth-coming months. I will call them this week. I am not really worried about the packet 4 arrival, my wife can go and pick it up if it gets lost. I just want them to schedule the darn interview ASAP.

I agree with MrsAyilliath, UPS is cheapest and things arrive fast. However I separated the very important, non-replaceable original documents and sent them by FedEx, which yes, is very expensive but guaranteed. DHL was slightly cheaper but there was no nearby drop-off office so I didn't use it. From California to Hyderabad, FedEx arrived safely in 3 days and UPS arrived in 9 days.

Mala,

Do not worry about the passport and name change. If you have concern, just talk to the Embassy and explain, I am sure, they will tell you what to do. My wife applied for her passport after our marriage, so I asked her to apply for the passport with her married name (my last name).

My wife got her passport 3 yrs ago but luckily our last name are same. Thank God!!

I don't think you have anything to worry about, you should be able to use the old passport.
