Called NVC today and they said they received the stuff from USCIS on Friday, but it was still in the "additional processing" stage, whatever that's supposed to mean. Anybody else get that as a status when they called? Seems like this thing just gets delayed and delayed. How annoying!

When I called NVC on Monday (Feb 8) @ 2:30pm PST, they told me my case is still "under review..." I called again on Tuesday (Feb 9) @ 2:45pm PST and they said they just shipped it... I'm sure they'll be shipping yours soon... when did they receive your package?

You don't "HAVE" to call NVC. They will send you a hard copy letter saying when they mailed out your package to your consulate. I called just because I wanted to know when they mailed my package so I could "guess when it arrived" based on the dhl.com website. You can wait. No big deal. Then wait for the consulate to contact you with packet 3 (if your consulate has one).

Yeah, there's really no need to call the NVC. But since I can't help it, I DID! LOL!

They told me they shipped my package today. Fortunately, there's only 1 shipped package going to Manila that left the NVC facility today (based on the DHL website) so i'm pretty confident that's mine... regardless, DHL.com will be my favorite website (after VJ, of course) until that package arrives in Manila! LOL!

Congratulations on receiving your interview date.

Quick question though, did you schedule March 10 because of preference? or is that the earliest available interview date? I was just wondering so I can have a better idea/estimate on when our interview date would be... Thanks.

Good luck and i hope everything goes smoothly!

I got my RFE in the mail today, and it turns out it was exactly what I was expecting from early on. They just wanted more evidence of the prior meeting, so I sent copies of my plane tickets, itineraries, and passport with exit/entry stamps. I had everything prepared when I received it, so I just put it all right in the envelope, booked it to the post office and express mailed it so it'll be there tomorrow. I'm really hoping I might receive the NOA2 through email by Friday, although that's probably a bit too hopeful! :P This wait is agonizing sometimes, so we will be grateful to receive some good news!!!

i received an email from the USCIS this morning, i was so excited to open it as i thought it was my NOA2... false alarm... i just says:

"Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed"

i guess they're a bit slow as my response to the RFE packet was received on friday... nonetheless, at least i got some news from them... still optimistic that we'll all get our NOA2s by the end of the month...

I cannot confirm or deny that the beneficiary's signature is not required in the G-325A. I do remember reading a thread regarding this though and I believe the recommendation is not to take any chances and get it signed as some adjudicators may not be aware that the beneficiary's signature is not required... or something like that... i'll try to look for that thread...

But if i were you, i would definitely get my fiancee to send me a signed copy ASAP. as you mentioned on your previous post, you just received the email today. depending on where you live, you might get the hard copy by tuesday or wednesday next week. just in time for the arrival of the signed g-325a express mailed to you by your fiancee...

Aha! This is pretty minor, but I did find a stupid mistake ... and this might be it. On the g-325a form under "spouse" and "former spouses", you're supposed to write "none" and I left it blank. That would be an incredibly stupid and minor thing for them to send a request for, and that's probably not it. But they may just ask for corrections since they're sending an RFE anyway. Now ... I read some posts that said it isn't necessary for the g-325a form to be signed by the fiance. Can anybody confirm or deny this? If it doesn't need to be signed, I can just put it in the mail. If it does, then I'd have to wait like another week for me to get it back from my fiance. Please let me know if anyone has any info!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2009 K-1 Visa filers

Well, I finally got a response. The dreaded RFE ... Oh well, it's not as if I'm surprised since I pretty much expected it once I discovered this forum and saw that photos often weren't enough evidence to prove a prior meeting. No problem, I've got plenty of evidence to send. I'm just really, really bummed that this case has to be delayed any more. Bastards! Oh well, that's life I suppose. At least I can expect a fairly prompt approval once I get the evidence sent in. Looks like most people got approved within about a week of submitting the required evidence, so I can live with it. Sure is better than waiting!

Sorry to hear that you also got an RFE.

Well, i finally received the hard copy of my RFE yesterday, 01/19/2010. It was actually a different error as what I suspected. It turns out, it's an even "stupider" error on my part :bonk: - apparently, i did not answer part c, question 2 of the I-129F form (if i have ever been convicted by a court of law...) :bonk:

So what I received from the USCIS were:

1) I-797E, Notice of Action (Request for Evidence)
2) Initial Evidence Request - I-129F with the statement:
"OMITTED ITEMS: The petitioner submitted Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiance'. However, the form is incomplete. The petitioner must answer question 2 on page 3 (attached). After the petitioner ha answered question 2, re-sign and date the attached form above the original signature and date. Return to USCIS."
3) Page 3 of the I-129F form.

So as a reply, here's what I sent the USCIS:

I-129F - Response to RFE Cover Letter with the following contents included:
1) Copy of the I-797E, Notice of Action (some people actually return the original sheet, but it's written in the back "When you reply, please include a copy of the other side of this notice and also include any papers attached to this notice")
2) Original attachment to I-797E (Page 2 of Initial Evidence Request)
3) Original attachment to I-797E (Page 3 of Initial Evidence Request) with answer to question 2, new signature and date above original signature and date.
4) New copy of page 3 of Form I-129F with answer to question 2, original signature and date signed.
5) 4 copies of my fiancee's revised G-325A with signature and date signed then I briefly explained why i am resubmitting a new G-325A as i missed a couple of items in the original submission.

I am so sorry to read you got an RFE. Glad to hear you are correcting what you perceive to be the errors. I'm just wondering how come the CVC officer who adjudicated your packet did not specify exactly what the error was so you could rectify the right documents or correct the form properly.

Is this really how the RFE's go? That we have to wrack our brains trying to figure out what the error is? Couldn't you call them to find out what is wrong with your documentation? I feel for you guys and for all the other couples who have received these road blocks.

However, it is simply that...a road block that you both can hurdle. For every problem, there is a solution. Take heart that you guys can handle it!

Here's praying for you and for all the others who are waiting for their NOA2s to get them soon.

As for us, we received our NOA1 last Oct 19th and upon checking the USCIS website today, we saw that we were "touched" as of Oct 15, 2010! Finally! there is some movement! We are hoping to receivables our NOA2s just like all of you.

Holding your hands in this VJ path,
Cherry

P.S. In case you look into our file, my real name is Theresa. Most Filipinos have a "First name" and a "nickname" that may not have any connection at all with one's "first name". It's a cultural thing, hahaha!

Hi Theresa,

Well, I have to wait for the actual RFE notice to arrive in the mail in order to find out what exactly the USCIS needs or what I did incorrectly. I just received an email notification that there is an RFE on the way. I am just taking a proactive approach to avoid further delays... but I will definitely keep you guys posted.

Goodluck to you! Hope you don't experience any road blocks on your journey...

Just out of curiosity, what all did you send as evidence of having met in the past 2 years? I'm a little worried I might be in store for an RFE myself, since all I sent was several recent photos of us together. I hadn't stumbled across this website when I prepared the petition packet, so I figured a bunch of pics would be evidence enough. In retrospect, the pics don't really prove WHEN we met, so that's probably why they require other pieces of evidence. My only saving grace might be that another official government document I submitted listed my 2008 address as being in Taiwan. Don't know if it'll be enough, tho. Fortunately, you'll get approved pretty quickly after getting your evidence submitted! Good luck!

I submitted a copy of both our boarding passes during our trip to Boracay Island and Bangkok. I also submitted hotel receipts and about 10 photographs of us together, one of which was taken below the sign our hotel in Boracay and another taken behind an elaborate sand castle with the date distinctively part of the creation.

Oh no, that stinks!! I hope you get the RFE notice soon so you can correct it right away. Hopefully if you can send in the required evidence right away there won't be a significant delay in your case. Please let us know if you need any help/advice.

Well, after going through the packet I sent the USCIS again (for the 10th time, I think), I think I know what I did incorrectly. There are a couple actually. Both on my fiancee's G-325A form. First, on the question "If your native alphabet is other than Roman letters..." I accidentally left that (blank) when I should have put "N/A." Second, I also accidently left the box outlined by heavy borders in the bottom of the form (blank) when I should have put her name there. :bonk:

Luckily, my parents are in the Philippines and will be flying back to the US on Sunday. I had her print and sign the corrected forms I just sent her via email and she'll be handing them to my parents tomorrow. I'm not 100% sure if those were the reasons for the RFE but if my assumptions are correct, at least I'll have copies of the corrected and signed forms by Sunday.

as for me... unfortunately, i got this email on my blackberry from the USCIS just a few minutes ago stating that a request for additional evidence or information has been sent... :(

i've gone through the copy of the packet i sent for the nth time already and i have no idea what i missed... i followed the guides carefully and never expected to get an RFE... i'm so upset and frustrated at myself right now... i guess i'll just have to wait for the actual notice to arrive in the mail so i can find out exactly... :bonk:

Just wondering if you ladies are starting to think/plan for the wedding? If so, how are you doing it?

Well, my fiancé and I are gonna have a small wedding. We plan to marry at the courthouse here in our county and then have a small party at home for family. Nothing big. We want to save up for a bigger wedding. The little wedding is only for USCIS and to get AOS started smile.gif I think we will have food, cake, beverages, and family. That's good for now, especially with our budget.

That's almost exactly the same plan as we have, macaroni. Our priority is to get that AOS started as soon as possible.

As much as my fiancée and i want to have a church wedding and a decent reception within the 90 day window, it requires a lot of time, money and planning... and with the uncertainty of the date she'll be finally here, it just makes it more difficult... and of course, being a guy, my ignorance about planning a wedding just doesn't help at all... huh.gif

Now that i think about it, i guess the only thing i know to plan that's wedding related is the bachelor party! huh.gif

I did not notice anybody talking about this so far, but it looks like CSC starts to take a good example from VSC in terms of time it reserves to process I-129F petition. I closely monitored time Timeline suggests my petition is going to be reviewed, and starting from the very beginning (October 13 check was cashed and NOA1 was sent to me) and for good 2 weeks the forecast was rather negative. The review time was sliding far and far away from me and finally reached the middle of the February. However, then, something strange have happened with the statistic of CSC and it looks for me like number of workers, who are assigned to review K1 petitions, was at least doubled. At any rate, over the last week my Timeline forecasted review time got closer to me by more than month! It states now that it is going to be reviewed somewhere in between December 28th and January 9th. I also have a feeling that it is only beginning of the process and the forecast will improve in the future significantly. Hope that my observations are right and we all would really get our NOA2s much sooner than we hoped.

OH wow.gif!!! that's great news!!! good.gif

I just checked my timeline forecast and it now says : Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between January 7, 2010 and January 19, 2010. Where as before, it was between mid January to mid February 2010!

That news just made my night! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Hey, question for everyone. My cousin filed for her K-1 in mid september, and she posted on her facebook today that her visa was approved. Is that possible....?? I don't think she's been on this website, and I think she may have been mistaken, but I don't want to say anything to her until I find out if it's possible for their visa to be processed and approved this quickly.
Thanks everyone!

Has she gone through the interview process at the consulate yet? If not, it's probably the PETITION that got approved, not the VISA.

But yes, the VSC is crankin' up on their K-1 approvals... so it is possible that she already got her NOA2. Hopefully the CSC will start crankin' it up too! good.gif

You know what im a little worry, that i have seen here thats sometimes in the consulate they ask for a ring receive.....thats will be a problem for us?

No, it's not a problem at all if you don't have a ring by the time you get to the consulate stage. Lots of couples never get engagement rings. What proves your engagement is the letters of intent that you send with the I-129F!

In regards to the NOA1, but the way, most people don't actually receive their HARD COPY in a few days. We actually got our hard copy 13 days after we sent our package. It's just that the hard copy has a "notice date," and this is technically the "NOA1 date" you might see on some timelines, like mine. It sounds like you are on schedule.

And ... welcome to you and visa-visa!!!

And HAPPY HALLOWEEN to everyone smile.gif halloween.gif

hi keydymenro! welcome aboard the thread!

Leenie is correct, the actual NOA1 is based on the Notice date on the I-797C that you received. As for me... i didn't get the hard copy until after a week i sent out packet... but my Notice date was the day after the CSC received my packet.

And yes, you shouldn't be worried about the engagement ring... as long as you prove that you have a real relationship and intend to marry within 90 days after the beneficiary's arrival in the US, then you should be fine...

goodluck to you and to all of us!!! good.gif

Hello all! I LOVE this thread!!!! I filed today (10/28) and am sooooooooooo happy to be done with that packet for a little bit! It was doing my head in, and I need a break! I've been working on the thing since the 13th!

Carl and I met working at Walt Disney World and have been inseparable (emotionally) ever since. We're so tired of being apart, so we're hoping for some quick processing with all of this! So glad to have a place to go and vent with my fellow Octoberians!!!

Wish us luck that we get our NOA1 soon!!!

Welcome LeoLaLit

You sent your package in a day before me - I bet they are cashing your check now or the bank has cashed it and just hasn't put it on your bank statement yet! Mine cashed yesterday but didn't show up until this morning..

Thanks Mitch and Bruna. Yeah, as of last night, my check hasn't been cashed yet... haven't checked today... if they cash checks by batch... i'm pretty sure they've cashed my check already when they cashed yours... you're probably right, it's probably not reflected on my online bank statement yet... Thanks! smile.gif

Hello all,

I love all the excitement on this thread. Reading the comments takes away some of my own I-129F anxiety!
I mailed in the package on 10/22 so I'm expecting to get that NOA1 here soon. That thing took forever to put together, but kind of fun deciding what pictures and what to share about our relationship.

Best of luck to all!

Welcome Mitch and Bruna !!

good.gif Glad your package was recieved successfully!!!!!

Hi Everyone! AWESOME THREAD! good.gif

We are "Octoberians" as well! I sent my I-129F package to the CSC on October 21 via UPS nextday air. The package was received and signed by LOU on October 22 @ 9:41am. Unfortunately, USCIS hasn't cashed my check yet unsure.gif . -- maybe because it was the weekend???

How long does it usually take them to cash a check? I'm getting a little anxious blink.gif (as most of you probably are)...

Go California! and best of luck to all of us! kicking.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Question for K-1 Visa
Hi everyone.

First of all, my compliments to this website, its creator and to the members that willingly provides excellent feedback, advice and support to both the petitioners and beneficiaries. With all confidence, I have made this website my primary source of reference as I put together my I-129F packet.

Although I only recently registered as a member, I have been regularly visiting this website for about 4 months now; trying to learn and understand the process of filing a K-1 visa application for my girlfriend in the Philippines. Yes, we are not officially engaged yet, but will make it official during my visit at the end of this month. My plan is to have the packet ready by the time I leave for the Philippines with the intention of sending/filing it as soon as I get back after 3 weeks.

As a little background: My girlfriend and I have known each other for about 11 years. We actually dated for a short period of time in 1997 when we were in college. But due to both our immaturity at that time, we decided we were better off as friends. When I moved to the US in 1998, we remained friends through different online networking sites (Facebook and Friendster). When we personally met again during my vacation in the Philippines in December 2008, sparks flew and old flames rekindled. We made our relationship official and we have been growing together in spite of the tough challenges of the distance between us. We both know we’re meant for each other and can’t wait to be finally together. So, like most of you, I’d like this I-129F packet to have no unnecessary delays due to carelessness or petty mistakes.

Now for my questions: (I apologize if this question had already been asked – I tried searching for the answers but couldn’t find it)
1) I am using an older version of the G-325A (exp 5/31/09) as I have noticed that the newer version takes less characters in each field (or I think the font is just bigger). The USCIS website states “prior editions accepted” – does anybody know if it is indeed accepted? Should I use the new version to be on the safe side? If I use the new version, how do I deal with information that are cut-off in the field (ie. long street address where the last 5 letters gets cut-off)?

2) I am attaching a supplement to the “Applicant’s employment last five years” section – do I print 4 copies of this supplement as well? And when I insert it in the packet, do I put the each supplement after each G-325A form? (ie. G-325A, supplement, G-325A, supplement etc.) Or do I just put the 4 copies of the supplements after the 4 copies of the G-325A?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestourist visa and k1...need an advice pls...
I don't think having a fiance in the US is a red flag. Besides, the K-1 visa application requires couples to meet at least once in two years.

However, having your parents and siblings here may be a problem for your tourist application. My older brother had that exact problem trying to visit us here in CA. He is a nurse there in the Philippines; Has assets (house and land) named after him after we left for the US and he also has several passport stamps from his visits to other countries... but then again, he didn't get that "mabait" na consul...

so hey, it's still worth a shot... just be honest.

good luck good.gif

I just got my NOA2 on Oct 25th (Woohoo!! kicking.gif ) and I had a question about sending the additional documents (copy of I-129F, I-134, original documentation, etc) for my fiance. From what I gather all the documents are for the interview. So if I am planning on attending the interview, is it necessary to send it down beforehand?

Thanks,

Gabriel

yes, all documents ae to be presented at the interview including all forms DS, FS and support information. I would sent all the documents in advance. Is better for her to have beforehands in the event of last minute changes.

Yes, the documents are needed at the interview of course but if I was going to the intervirew (and I did go to my fiancee's interview) I certainly would not send them ahead of time. Safer to carry them with you when you travel abroad. Whether you are allowed into the actual interview is irrelevant. Just bring the documents with you.

it i were you... i would definitely hard carry these documents... i would also keep it in my sight the whole time and i would definitely guard it with my life... good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresphone bill question
QUOTE (sam singh @ Nov 25 2009, 04:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
can you tell me the names of those companies pls.
thanks

I'm not sure if my service providers offer international rates other than the Philippines. Nonetheless, they are:

Owtel - Post paid (that's why i get a monthly statement)
G3Telecom - Pre-paid rechargable long distance service (you can recharge your account over the phone or online and they provide call history in their website)

BTW - does anybody here use MagicJack? I sent my fiancee one and we use this as our primary means of communication. But I'm not sure if you can use this as a proof of ongoing relationship since her number is a US number. The account is registered under her name though.

hi everyone, just wanted to know , how can i show phone calls as an evidence when the no. i dial doesn't show up on my verizon bill because i use calling card to call her, i first have to dial the third party no . then my pin then her number. So on my bill i only see the third party no.
any suggestions, i only have cell phone
thanks

I subscribe to a third party calling card service as well.... 2 as a matter of fact. One service sends me a monthly statement with my call summary and the other, I print from their website.

Hope this helps.
