And there you go AGAIN with generalizations, have ALL the American women here told you that no matter what ypu say about 'your' American men they won't be offended in ANY way???

I wouldn't be offended because it has nothing to do with me.....pretty much all the American men I have had realtionships with were DOGS!!! Maybe I pick the wrong ones....BUT....my father is also a DOG and so is my stepfather.....Oh, and don't let me forget about my brother-in-law....he's one too!! Whatever.......

Did "I" miss something that someone said???? I went back and looked and looked, but I didn't see ANYONE say that their Jamaican husband is a dog ??!!!!!

I looked too and couldn't find anything -- I thought maybe I missed it somewhere....

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies, at home and a farrin' (Part 4)

Now to the topic at hand.I for one don't care if a woman says 'My Jamaican husband is a dog'. However, I take EXTREME issue with her saying 'Any Jamaican man you bring up is going to be a dog' Because that is no longer PERSONAL experience, but a BLANKET statement!!

Did someone actually say that? I'm sorry but I must have missed that. I don't agree with making a blanket statement like that either.....BUT.....sometimes, when all you hear is the bad, and the bad is happening to you it does get hard to not make "generalizations."

:thumbs:YO YO!!! READ MY SIGNATURE!!!!!

Congratulations!! It's about time!!!

Go ahead -- hate me -- I don't care!!! When I met Roy (three years ago) --

I wish this forum would have existed.

I wish there was a place where people were being honest about what was going on in their relationships.

I wish I could have asked someone all the questions (and concerns) that I had.

I wish someone would have been there to help me understand what was about to happen in my life.

I wish that I had suggestions and real experiences from people who had gone through this before me.

I wish, I wish, I wish.......

Here's the thing -- you ask a question. You get an answer. WE are not here to knock you down. WE are here to supply you with as much information and personal experiences that you can handle. Obviously some people can't handle it. Yes WE do get very passionate about our views and sometimes what we type doesn't translate properly. Me personally, I know some of my posts make me sound like a raving B^%$&. That is furthest from what I am.....

I cannot change how some people feel. I just wish that the "newbies" knew ALL the women who used to frequent this forum -- who WE have not heard from in MONTHS -- SOME YEARS.....why? Their relationships don't exist anymore. Those are the "tales" you all really need to hear. If you heard what happened to them -- maybe you would understand WHY we try to give you honest answers -- whether you are prepared to hear them or not.

Yes, this is a Jamaican forum so we are talking about Jamaican men (for the most part, men). Sorry if you feel we "Jamaican Bash" but what good would it do anybody if we came on here and talked about all our shi^^% experiences with American men?!?!?

Everyone has their own experiences. I hope this forum can continue to host these types of conversations. If we can help just one person -- that will be one less person who is "in the wind."

There is now this new passport card good for the Caribbean Mexico Canada and Bermuda. It is much cheaper than a passport book.

I saw that and was actually thinking about it. But, I guess you never know what might happen in the next ten years so I went ahead and got another "real" one.

What if you win a trip to Fiji? kicking.gif Then you have to wait for a new passport to come

I need to buy our tickets now and send out for my new passport this week. I could wait and change my last name next year when it expires. Only hubby thinks I should have the correct name.

Hey Jax -- the name you book your tickets under has to match the name on the passport. I just revised mine to. Sent it in on 3/31 -- got it back <<NO LIE>> on 4/8. But, whatever you do, don't wait until the last minute.

Question......has anyone ever bought anything from Courts on-line? They have an option of purchasing items and paying for it with your credit card -- then they contact the person in Jamaica who you bought it for and make the delivery arrangements.

We have done it and it works out fine, the only thing I would suggest is that you have the individual go look at the item you are buying because it may not be quite what you think it is, Courts is the furniture/appliance store, that's the one ypu are speaking of correct.

Yes, that's the Courts I was talking about.

Thank you VERY much. That's a really good idea.

Hi ladies. Hope all is well with everyone.

You can cut out the Western Union service fee (by not sending cash) by doing this. Just wonder if anyone has tried it and what the outcome was.

Thanks Gill!!

BUT -- I can't take all the credit. I copied my cover letter from Julie (Sbys) -- I found it here on VJ in one of the "guides" I sent it to her (and because she filed two weeks before I did) I took her final letter and changed it with my info. Would love to say that was my brillance but it wasn't.

Jonesie: I started collecting things the moment Roy got here. We kept a folder in the kitchen and would drop mail and other things in there so it was all in one place. It does say in the "instructions" 'from the time of the marriage' so we included photos from our wedding shower and from the wedding too. It was over 200 pages of utter ####### but it made me feel better wacko.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionPhone call from Homeland Security?
This probably has nothing to do with anything but I remember that I had seen this post and I just wanted to add this....

My father just received a call from the Department of Homeland Security (but it was a Toronto area code) -- it was a scam.

At first, the "agent" tried to scare my father....then, he wanted him to go to Wal-Mart and send him a MoneyGram for $2,500 -- once that was done, he would call back to get my fathers bank account number where the "agent" was going to deposit $2.5million into his account.

My dad knew it was a scam from the beginning and played "dumb" to see where this guy was gonna go. Maybe it was a scam and "he" knew you weren't going to play along....

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionSilly Question About Evidence
We still have about nine months before we have to file to remove conditions..... But I was just wondering.....

Since we were approved through Cali without an interview (and those "cases" are now starting to file to remove conditions) -- are you only providing "evidence" from the time the GC was issued (as they ask for) -- OR -- are you also including "evidence" prior to that date (i.e., wedding photos, invitations, vacations, etc.) things that you would have provided at the initial interview if you had one?
