Sorry Shauna!! When I was a kid (okay, I was at least 13) my guinea pig Bumstead died. Well, I think I sprayed too much Lysol in his cage and killed him. He used to sleep right next to my bed.....that night I noticed he really wasn' t moving too much so I put him in my sisters room for that night -- then I blamed her for killing him. I think to this day she still thinks she did something wrong. blush.gif

I think she's tired of it being played over and over and over again on CNN == she did say that's the only station she can get at work.

Yeah -- Roy knew there would be "consequences" if he didn't cross the road when he smelled it. This one was a "no-brainer" -- if we got denied because of this -- he probably wouldn't have made it out of the Embassy alive!! devil.gif

Jomo did -- she had a slight problem but got them pretty fast. I ordered ours on June 6 -- after MANY unanswered e:mails they finally responded and they "should" be sent out on 9/5.....nothing yet......

My two cents -- if you think you will need them in the future -- ORDER THEM NOW!!!

Can I ask you guys something about the work visas? Does anyone know anything about them?

I don't know much but I do know that what you make all depends on "who" you are working for and what "deal" they made with you to bring you over. If it's a "Jamaican Government" (Ministry of Labor) sponsored Visa or a U.S. "Company" Visa <<They are still all considered H1B Visas>>

Some require you to "pay back" the cost of the Visa, transportation to the U.S., accomodations while living here and food (this could potentially leave you with very little). Others take care of everything or portions of it (and that affords you more $$$ in your pocket)

You should PM Doodle. I think she might be a valuable resource for you.

You do have to get married to file the AOS.....

This was my first marriage and we got married at the courthouse. No biggie. I never wanted (or needed) to have a big wedding....this was just fine for me. A lot of people have gotten married at the courthouse then had a "big" reception at a later date.

The people I wanted to be there were there. It was great.

Rhonda planned a "real" wedding in a very short time. I don't remember all the details but she might be able to help if this is something Donna really wants to do.

Would she have a problem getting back into the country with her current K-1 visa? Her visa is dated to expire the end of November.

Unfortunately the K1 Visa is not a "travel" visa -- it's a 'one time entry' into the U.S. You could always try to get an "Emergency AP" but like Kelly said, I have heard some horror stories (here on VJ) about what happens when people try to re-enter.

Your best bet would be to get the actual AP or wait for the Green Card.

When are you planning to file the AOS 'bundle?' And have you checked to see how long the processing times are -- I know Kelly filed at the end of July and her check is not even cashed yet......

You may want to research this Jay, but I think she needs the SSN so that you can apply for the marriage license. I know that it is needed in Florida.

Every state is different.....in Illinois it was needed to get a drivers license/state ID. We waited until after two weeks after Roy arrived then we went to apply.....got the card about three weeks later.

Are you sure they are "waiving" it? I wouldn't count on that till we hear something official. I don't remember Sarah saying that Marlon had to sign a waiver and he didn't have his non-impediment either. If I remember right, she said he wasn't even asked for it.

We all know how they seem to change the rules depending on how the wind is blowing on any given day.

Anyone reading this, please continue to get that non-impediment form until we hear something officially.
