Me too! For awhile you could get Buttered Popcorn Mike n Ike's and they were so good too. Sadly, they are discontinued. They were a much more affordable way to get my fix cos those Jelly Bellys are pretty pricey.

Wasn't it the show Double Dare where you got like a years supply of Jelly Bellys as a runner's up prize?

I love the Jelly belly Buttered Popcorn jelly beans! So yummy!! I've never heard of the sauce for icecream, but would likely love it as I really like the salty sweet combination.

Oh yes those are my fav jelly bellies. I like to munch on those and cinnamon ones at the same time. Yummmm...

Ok the Pizza Hut I would frequent in England had this buttered popcorn flavored syrup to put on the icecream at the icecream bar....does anyone know the brand of this or where I could find some online?!
Thanks

That sounds so bizarre...yet so delicious at the same time.

I'm a frequenter of British Pizza Huts (the £12.99 3 course meal for two...a bargain and it fills us up for a day). I've been to a couple different ones in London, Newcastle, Glasgow, Liverpool, and Edinburgh but I've never seen the Butter Popcorn flavor.

I wanted to wear something smart-ish to help me feel more professional at the interview.

However, when I was washing my hands in the bathroom later that day, I realised that my top was a little lower-cut than I thought (and a wee bit too big, so it slipped down over the course of the day) and that every time I had leaned in at the window to better hear what the interviewer was saying I had most likely given him a very good view of my bra! blush.gif Yet I was still fine; so really, it doesn't matter!

It sounds like your husband has been wanting to get out of a long time, and this girl gave him the perfect excuse.

This is really a terrible blow, but like you said, you will benefit in the long run. You now have time to take care of you...something that he wouldn't even do. Use this time to expand your horizons...start a new hobby/activity, go on a trip. You are going to do fine. Who cares what happens to him...you have a lot better things to think of and a lot better things to look forward too. good.gif

Well Rob flew in yesterday to Newark from Manchester airport. He was through Customs & Border Patrol rather quickly. He told me the guy who took his papers was rude, but after he told me what the guy said to him I'm sure he just took it the wrong way (which he does sometimes). Apparently the guy told him he shouldnt be coming to the US to get married and should go somewhere else, but I'm thinking he was joking around considering the current state of the country and all...

I only live about 25-30 minutes from Newark Airport so I just told him to text me when they allowed electronic device use once the plane reached the gate. Figured I'd have time to spare by the time I got there, yet when I walked into the waiting area he was already there waiting for me!

It seems crazy to me how quickly this has all gone, and now I have to get used to the fact that he is right now sitting back at my house instead of all the way across the ocean and I dont have to sneak on MSN at work to talk to him blush.gifwhistling.gif

I am completely looking forward to October smile.gif

It's great having him home, isn't it...I still pinch myself to see if it's a dream!

I wish I was having my wedding on October 31st, my favourite holiday!!!

It's going to take some getting used to, but I'm sure that won't take long at all. Just need a new routine hehe
Rather than sneaking on MSN at work, if i want to talk to him all i have to do is call my own house and instead of going home and plopping down on the bed and picking up the phone, i get to plop down on the bed and have him right there next to me.

We're going to vegas and getting married by Elvis on halloween cause its our fav holiday too and then next year we're going to have a more traditional ceremony so my whole family and hopefully his if they can stand to fly (his mum is afraid) can be a part of it.

I personally would have chosen Liberace with his mirrored piano and the candleabra laughing.gif tongue.gif wink.gif

United KingdomBad news at the interview
It seems very rare at the London embassy that those being interviewed are asked for evidence of relationship...they basically focus on the financial info.

Don't fret...you weren't denied. You just need to send in the proper info. It seems that your case has been approved pending that info (seeing that they asked you to send your passport via courier as well).

United KingdomUS/UK Dual Citizen - K1 Domicile Issues?
I'm just curious...but are dual citizens treated the same as non-USC? Or is this some sort of gray area as the OP has both US and UK citizenship? I'm just wondering since I thought that you didn't need to go through the USCIS process if you had US citizenship. I have a friend who has dual US/Canadian citizenship and lived in Canada all her life before coming here...from what I understood with her she never had to go through the USCIS when she was moving here.

hiya all
thanks so much for all your inputs on this subject.

well i am back in the states now trip was fantastic got to go places each and everyday and met relatives i either cant remember or never met before...took over 1500 photo's..and the first thing my mum says to me when she saw me..was you little imp...if ya didnt know my mum didnt know i was going over to see her lol...

as for BMI ... fllight over i was in economy seating was a bit squishy ... service was great...i was cheeky enough to ask for hot water so i could make my own coffe (took satchels of coffee) and they were very happy to do so..entertainment was good...once i got to work out the games time flew fast...flight was easy compared to going to australia...

coming home...i had economy premium...omg if you can afford that both ways do it...i had heaps of leg room foot rest and a button to push out the seat in your lower back (wouldnt have a clue what the word is for it)...no one sitting beside me..large viewing screen....flight was good service excellent on both flights..

at manchester airport on the way home...being so many checking in attendents were helping out...the lady asked for my passport...my greencard...asked about the different name to my greencard..showed her my marriage certificate then she noticed that my greencard was about to expire in a week and asked if i would be renewing it..gave her my extension letter and all was good to check in...

coming through customs at chicago...they didnt even ask for marriage certificate or my extension letter...i declared that i had food in my bags and was sent to the left for my luggage to be inspected...i only brought in some lollies and beer...and amazingly enough the 6 pack of vb (aussie beer) did not break because i had to put it in my luggage...phew...my hubby was so rapt about that not breaking..

once again thanks for you input...although i read all the replies whilst in england i had forgotten my password to put my two bobs worth in..
take care
kath

United Kingdomflights with british midland airlines
I think the only flight from Chicago is to Manchester...I don't recall any London flights. I typically take Aer Lingus when flying over (we fly into Dublin and then take a Ryan Air flight to Edinburgh).

Really the only reason I haven't taken BMI transatlantic is that their Chicago flights are typically more expensive than their competitors.

I do like the nifty hats the female flight attendants get to wear!

But I have found one type of bread here in Walmart (of all places!) that is the closest to normal I have found. It's called Arnold Natural Wheat Original Brownberry Recipe. smile.gif

Arnold's is my favorite bread too...I always buy the flax bread. It's hearty and the crust...amazingly is my favorite part.

I suppose my move wasn't as crazy far but there are things I do miss about living in Nebraska. I dearly miss kolaches, runzas, Valentino's pizza, Amigo's restaurant after a long night of drinking at the Saturday night keggers amongst many things. I also miss the way that even in the larger cities you were only a few minutes from the countryside and getting away from it all. I miss the trails along the Big Blue River, the wee country cemetaries (that are often inscribed in Czech), the pasture pond behind my parent's subdivision where you can find massive bullfrogs, the Old Market in Omaha and Indian Caves State Park.

In general, the Brits (likely after Canadians) have the easiest time getting through POE's compared to people of other nationalities.

Um, no I wouldn't say that.

Brits get turned back all the time.

Worse than M8 at rush hour between Govan and Kingston Bridge? Worse than the Glasgow 1 way grid system that changes over night? surely not possible!!!!!

Only reason we are considering omaha is for job options I'd rather not as I'm not a city girl at all. Born and brought up in arsendofnowhere and love it.

At least Omaha isn't far from the arsendofnowhere lol. You're not far at all from Blair where DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge is...one of my favorite places to go in NE. And of course only a few hours drive will take you to the Sandhills.
