@slim

No, didn't look into this a couple years ago. I was looking for reviews of embassies and consulates to see how others were faring with the interview process. (Yes!
Posted Image My thoughts are way ahead than they probably should be)...and I ran into my same question, but posed back in 2006?of course the answer was the same as it is now. The reason I asked was I came across a sketchy immigration lawyer site with a list of K1 issuing consulates, found here. It was kind of wishful thinking that, perhaps, this situation had changed, but thanks to everyone's response I will gladly concede and live with what is. The biggest issue (mentally for me) was to clear up my concern over the information I included on the I-129F. Thank you, G&A, for that information.

And I apologize that my story couldn't be a little juicier. In fact, there's really no juice to be had from this dry segment. At this point I'm wondering if I should start this reply over for the sake of you, slim. Perhaps the inclusion of a worldly scandal or a good old Russian/Russian/American ménage à trois would spice things up! Woops, sorry, I forgot this is a family-friendly site.

*Edit*

I now see this note on the I-129F Form:

NOTE: (Designation of a U.S. embassy or consulate outside the country of your fiancé(e)'s last residence does not guarantee
acceptance for processing by that foreign post. Acceptance is at the discretion of the designated embassy or consulate.)

So I assume I will not run into any problems with my information entered on the form, but I am still curious about my other question. Thanks to all!

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusSt. Petersburg Consulate
Is there an official list of Consulates in Russia that issue the K-1 visa? I know a couple years ago Moscow was the only one, but I've come across other sites that state St. Petersburg now issues.

My problem is I answered the I-129F question regarding which Consulate the fiancee will visit as St. P. Am I going to run into any problems?

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusQuestion about shipping papers to Russia
The USPS can only do so much about the length in time it takes a package to get to the recipient in Russia. In my experience, even using basic Priority, the package would arrive in Russia within a week, but the Customs process would add a couple weeks to my waiting. Hopefully, for your sake, the Global Express expedites this. In the mean time, use this site to track your package. Considerably more up-to-date with the whereabouts of you package once it enters Russia.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusNeeds Matrimonial Stamp in Passport
Thanks everyone for your replies. Very much appreciated.

I was able to have an Apostille placed on our marriage certificate the morning of her flight. We had no time to translate it but she is having that completed and certified in St. Petersburg. She had a consultation with the passport issuing office within a day or two of arriving abroad and surprise, surprise they had no idea what stamp she was talking about or even what the issue was. The only issue we really have, which was brought to our attention the night before the flight, was a friend (States-side) travelled to St. Pete under the same conditions (listed in initial post) as my wife and she was given quite a bit of problems for some reason. The friend's only choice was to prolong the trip and renew both passports with married name. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't have the time to renew her passports this trip, so we were looking for any answers to why problems might occur. On the plus side, my wife found out she has a friend that now works at Pulkova Airport. The friend is going to consult with the customs agents to get the skinny. I'll let you all know what truths are unveiled.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusNeeds Matrimonial Stamp in Passport
My wife is traveling to St. Petersburg tomorrow on her Green Card which features her married name. The plane tickets are also in her married name. I don't anticipate any problems traveling to Russia, but traveling back to Chicago could be another story. Her international and internal passports feature her Maiden name. The Marriage Certificate also features her Maiden Name. Unfortunately we are finding out about the Matrimonial Stamp really late in the process (day before the flight). Where will she be able to get this stamp in St. Petersburg? Is there any document I should now prepare to mail to St. Pete for her assistance?

Any assistance is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben
