I had heard the name Sophie Grace on a TV show and I thought that was cute but then one night a girl's name popped into my head and I knew it was the one.. That is how the names came about for my other two angels, they just popped into my head. Noah William and Katelyn Mary I want Grace or Lynn for a middle name. I want Grace because it means blessing because I feel like we were blessed with this pregnancy and I want Lynn for my mom, Linda.. Those are adorable names, what about combining Lynda Grace with a sightly diff spelling? Hubby and i have pretty much already had a boys name chosen for years, Joseph Connor, but the name we had picked out for a daughter we cannot use anymore I wanted Kayla, but our friends had a daughter last year and named her Kaylee) Also, i grew up a tomboy, and never had any real parent interaction etc. I still have no idea how to be a girl. i never played with dolls, i never read beauty magazines, i never wore dresses. i dont even use makeup. I am so scared to have a girl cuz i'm not going to know what the heck to do. and i already know i'll be way way super protective due to the fact i was molested as a child by my stepfather, and then later on raped as a teenager. Canada	Got Baby? Avez vous un bebe?	Yeah Kimbear, it has been an interesting experience. I have a whole new appreciation for the miracle that is the ability to have a baby. The fact that sperm ever find eggs and grow to be new humans is simple a miracle! Having gone through the waiting of immigration and infertility has given me patience and more of a wait, it will happen eventually, attitude than I ever had before. Immigration and fertility are two things that we as humans have no direct control over. Once the immigration package is in the mail or the sperm goes in search of an egg we have no more control. We just wait and hope that good results come in the end. I am sorry to hear that your family wasn't more excited about your pregnancy. Us VJers are ecstatic for you! After all the troubles you had with immigration, I am glad that getting pregnant was a bit easier. Marilyn, I love the names you picked out. Very cute. DH and I like William Ernest B. (his initials will be WEB to memorialize how DH and I met) and for a girl we like Veronica Estelle although the middle name is still up for negotiation. I just learned that there is some cartoon character "Veronica Mars" so I need to check the SSA name database to make sure Veronica hasn't become too popular. AFM, last night I was having terrible back pain. Keep having stabbing pains on the left side of my uterus and this morning I have the weirdest metallic taste in my mouth that hasn't gone away from eating or brushing my teeth. I have a headache that keeps coming and going too. I did a hpt this morning and there was just a shadow where I know the line should be. Hopefully tomorrow there will be a distinct line. Sunday April 7 will mark 2 years of TTC for my DH and me so I am hoping that we get a bfp on an hpt by then. I am still pregnant until proven otherwise because of our infertility treatments this cycle so I will not lose hope yet. i bolded the part i thought was cute! although when the kid is older he may not like it I am so very lucky i can talk to you all and get feedback reassurances etc. You gals are my extended 2nd family Lilac definitely get the book what to expect when your expecting, although your DR may give you one for free like mine did. there is a very common phenomenon where pregnant women have that "metallic taste" almost like pennies in their mouth. also headaches are very very common. I never had the weird taste but i was always a migraine sufferer and now this last week or two i have a headache every single day. Then again i also have allergies and i'm getting my sinusitis again ARGH. its a real pita sometimes. and i agree you definitely are pregnant until proven otherwise! Doctor said they wont remove the pollup until way after 12 weeks, so i should just take it easy and not worry too much unless i start to almost hemorage bleed. I've been able to eat a bit more, my food aversion are a little better, still no meat though. and i had my first cravings lol. i was dying for hot dogs which i'm not allowed to eat but we found some ones from oscar meyer that do not have any nitrates or any bad stuff in em and i had to over cook them, but that plus sauerkraut and mustard was a win win. i finally was able to eat SOME meat We finally told his family at Easter. everyone thought for sure his mom would freak out cry squish me etc. but she didn't. and his dad said we screwed up his plans to move to Florida...cuz his mom said if grandkids ever showed up there was no way she would move away. his older brother and sister kind of ignored or didn't realize what we said or were talking about i dunno. I told my family who i only have contact with on Facebook and got dead silence. The only ones who seemed genuinely happy and actually cried was his other brother and his wife who is like my long lost sister removed at birth ( i swear we are related lol we grew up almost the same way and have 90% in common). Lilac, i have to say that is a most interesting experience your going though. it was going to be our next option had i not gotten pregnant. So glad things worked out well for you. Marilyn glad surgery went ok for you. Hope you have a calm and easier pregnancy this time around. Canada	Got Baby? Avez vous un bebe?	I am having a pretty rough time. I've now lost over 10 pounds since the beginning and been unable to do much of anything. My husband has been great and making me broth, jello etc in bed. They put me on medication to help with the nausea but that has caused its own set of issues and I feel useless. I just mostly sit or lie around and don't do anything, because the minute I try to do housework I start feeling nauseous. It's hard because my mom isn't nearby and I don't really have any 'puke friends' - you know, the kind of people who would come over even if you were sick who live nearby. So very very thankful for my husband who has been amazing. And I really hope this gets better soon. 11 and a half weeks... holding out hope for 2nd trimester. Need to gain back some weight somehow! Fighting against dehydration at the moment. It's times like this when I really miss having family nearby. We are about to hit 10 weeks here as well, and 'im so sick of feeling nautious no matter what. Its not food smells its just this overfull feeling and half the time burping almost makes me puke I know how you feel, but my doctor told me not to worry that everything will be ok, and no matter how sick you are the baby wont be affected. My issue is I've never been a big water drinker to begin with, and i'm trying to keep anything i can down. We ended up buying those pedialyte freezies and they help a bit. I was also given a prescription for nausea meds as well and have also lost weight. Just keep trying to take sips of water every 15 minutes or so. and don't worry about being lazy, your SUPPOSED to be super tired and not do a damn t hing the first trimester. I made the mistake of waking up feeling good for once full night of sleep, and then cleaned the house..big mistake, i ended up puking the next day like crazy Its not worth it to over do it. a couple more weeks and we'll hopefully both be out of this sicky phase. I had a friend who has an internal fibroid that basically grows as the baby does and takes up almost as much space internally that the baby was having trouble developing. turned out baby was born fine and now she is pregnant again. I hope your pregnancy continues to go as well as possible. Yesterday, I had my egg retrieval for my in vitro fertilization yesterday. The were able to get 18 eggs yesterday. This morning I got the call with the fertilization report. I was so scared that the sperm we had frozen wouldn't do the job of causing fertilization. Boy was I wrong! Four eggs were either immature, broke, something about a zona pellucida, and another one had some other thing wrong with it. So they used intracytoplasmic sperm injection on all 14 of the eggs and all 14 fertilized! Tomorrow we will find out the quality of the fertilized eggs. It has been an emotional morning. DH is very happy and we both cried a little when we got the call. Transfer is tomorrow at 9 a.m. This news has definitely made it a GOOD FRIDAY! Plus today my abdomen doesn't hurt any more like it did yesterday. Today is a good day. Sounds exciting! Keep us posted! so I am getting stitched up next Tuesday. I know it is for the best but I am nervous especially after the doctor told me complications that could occur.. Marilyn, i'm sure everything will be ok for you this time, just keep calm ( if you can i know its hard!) and make that hubby of yours keep helping out! Just remember to breathe every once in a while. But it seems everything is ok. Its due to a pollup i have on my cervix. So i go in again on Friday to see if they will remove it or not. I am assuming I am going to get stitched up within the next week or two.. Ahhh! Congrats! So I was waiting until today since I wanted to tell my parents, but time to join this thread ladies... I am 10 and a half weeks pregnant with our first! Had our first ultrasound last week and it was just amazing to see the little heart beating. Morning sickness has been a huge issue for me (I've spent days where I couldn't eat anything) and I've lost 5 pounds since the beginning but it's finally starting to get a little better. I knew i'd prolly get sick but i was EXTREMELY sick for 24 hours non stop. could not even keep water down. my dr said mebbie i caught a bug and to go to the walk in so i did. turned out i'm not sick with a virus, however somehow i got a UTI, so they gave me some meds for that and some anti nausea stuff. It seems i'm one of the few women who get this bad with nausea. I was in pain from throwing up so much like every hour or 2 with like no sleep i was exhausted and so worried Not to mention i could not keep vitamins down or my thyroid meds. i almost made the poor receptionist cry at the clinic cuz i was crying i was so scared today i feel better..i just seem to be really prone to gassiness and bloating i guess. and i finally got sleep cuz the meds they gave me make me sleepy. that prolly helped a ton. So today, we are going to our brother / sister in laws. they will be the first ones we tell and the only ones for a while. should be fun to see Laura's reaction..lol i just know shes going to scream! They are making corn beef and cabbage etc. and i'm hoping i can eat at least a bit of the beef. i seem to be having a meat aversion at least to looking at uncooked meat and trying to cook it. So i have to ask, did any of your husbands change at all ? I mean my hubby is always loving but OMG hes uber lovey this week ( not that i mind at all) and he keeps saying i'm even sexier now that i'm pregnant and yes i'm completely blushing in real life but just WOW. its adorable and cute, but i'm walking around stores and stuff completely red faced from blushing so much LOL. We are still holding out hope for having #2 but that will still have to wait. We had some delays with hubby's Canadian PR so it looks like he will be a SAHD for another 6 months or so . But it is hard to believe that Emma is already almost 2.5 and is now a little girl. They grow up so fast. I couldn't eat anything fir the first 4 months of my pregnancy....the smell of any food made me sick. I even had a hard time showering because the chlorine in the water smelled so strong that it made me feel like throwing up! I always heard that feeling sick was a good sign because it was indicating a strong hormonal response which is a good thing. Not sure if that is true or not but it made sense to me. I hope everyone has a healthy and happy 9 months. I cant wait to see all the cute babies! Wow its been that long already 2.5? seems like only yesterday you had her ! I'm sure it wont be long before you more, and hey at least this time around you guys get to be together for the whole process on the Canada side. 4 months? oh lord how did you all do that?? I've only really really been sick this week and i'm not sure how much more i can take Hubby and i have not told anyone yet. We are not sure when we should. I also had taken a pregnancy test the end of January that came back negative.. so I had no idea I was pregnant until a few weeks ago.. also for 2 weeks or so I thought my nauseousness was from my gall bladder.. that's funny you mention that you had a short period. In February i was spotting for a couple days then i had a really short period. also my jan one was 2 weeks from my dec one. but i chalk all that up to my fluctuating thyroid meds. I'm finally on a stable dose now and i think that's what finally allowed me to get pregnant. my fam DR agrees, the stable thyroid and well i don't have anymore immigration stress, and we are now in our own house with a new car. Canada	Got Baby? Avez vous un bebe?	yay, Kimbear! Congrats! we had our first US yesterday. My husband got to go with me. He was surprised that the baby was moving around so much.. So I am 11 weeks and my due date is September 30th. a lot of foods that I usually love to eat make me feel sick to my stomach just thinking of them. Like grilled food and Mexican food i had to read that a few times to realize what US meant 11 weeks wow you waited to be sure eh? I have mine scheduled for the 20th. but i don't know what they will see. i'm apparently 4-5 weeks pregnant. right now i just want to be able to eat something even chicken broth without the queasiness. Yay Kimbear! That's so exciting! I know a lot of people 35+ who had babies in the last couple years, and they all turned out great. It seems like 39 is the new 29 when it comes to having kids. I'm 25 and when I was prego I got a lot of comments on how young I was to be having a baby. I thought that was so silly! I was really queasy for a good 3 months, and only threw up twice.. while brushing my teeth Seriously, watch the depth of that toothbrush. Wait for the food cravings! Mine were fried potatoes, ice cream and cheese strings. i already learned how deadly a toothbrush can be i don't have food cravings at all..in fact..im having aversions to almost everything. Well my Dr said 39 is not that old. i managed to see her today and she gave me the referral to the obgyn. she said shes a little concerned about the spotting and told me to make sure if it changed or i got any sharp pains etc to go to the hospital. But having her confirm that I REALLY was pregnant kinda made it hit me lol. Walking around babies r us to checkout pricing on cribs etc i think almost gave my husband a mid life crisis. He said to me " i can't buy anything or have fun for the next 18 years can i? " lol Poor guy i'm glad i'm not actually vomiting but the pressure and queasiness is almost as bad its just always there. And what the heck with the gassiness?? OMG burping every 5 mins i'm worse than a trucker lol. we went and bought the baby book my DR mentioned..that everything you need to know about expecting or w/e its called along with the eating healthy one. so i guess i have some reading to do of course i WILL pop in here to ask you guys questions once in a while probably	Kimbear	Female	Canada	2013-03-14 20:44:00
Canada	Got Baby? Avez vous un bebe?	That's so exciting Marilyn! Let us know how it goes Kimbear, I would definitely take a test! I had very similar symptoms when I was first pregnant. Bill kept saying, "that's a sign of pregnancy!" but I kept ignoring him. Weird things made me queasy, I was tired, I kept getting headaches, I could not touch coffee or chocolate it grossed me out, and emotional... especially angry. Angry was my main emotion all 9 months I also had cramps in my lower abdomen which I thought were period cramps but nope! Well, i took the test...and................................... I'm pregnant! Only took 4 years or so lol. Ugh ya i thought i was starting my period too, i had pressure bloating cramps, but it was the spotting last week on and off that gave it away along with the sore boobs. So now i'm just waiting for the DR to open so i can make an appointment and get referred to a obgyn i guess since i still never got one here yet Kinda nervous scared we don't have enough $$ etc. Our newest dog our female i think knew..she kept snuggling with me all week and lying on my stomach. Canada	Got Baby? Avez vous un bebe?	I was feeling sick and nauseous for a week or two before I took the test. At first I thought it was my gall bladder has I do have a gallstone. but then one day I was thinking that maybe I was pregnant because on top of the nauseous, my chest area was sore and I was very emotional.. do temper outburst count as emotional? lol. i haven't actually been sick, but i keep getting queasy on and off. my husband said something was up cuz we went to tgi fridays and well i could not eat the chicken..and i LOVE meat..i'm a meat eater through and through. but i took one bite of the grilled chicken and went..nope can't eat it. my morning coffee, which i cannot due without, i can only have one cup, the 2nd cup two sips and i'm done. and exhaustion. it just hit me like a brick wall one day when i was on m computer. just all of a sudden i felt so extremely tired like i was drugged. since then i have been sleeping more and more along with tossing and turning and getting up to pee 2 times a night which is very unusual for me. there are other weird things going on with me as well but those are the mains ones that made me go...wait a minute. mind you this is only in the last 2 weeks. and i'm 39 now. so i'm kinda scared. Canada	Got Baby? Avez vous un bebe?	we stopped trying and that is when it happened .. it still hasn't sunk in yet. When I hear the heart beat or see the baby on the US screen then it will. Congratulations!! well, I guess I can join this thread. We found out I was pregnant last weekend. It was a shock to us because we were kind of putting it on hold til after we move at the end of this month. It isn't official because I haven't seen the doctor yet but I figured 3 pregnancy tests wouldn't lie to me.. 3 tests huh? lol What prompted you to test..any specific signs or feelings? I"m curious to know cause well, looks like i'll be picking up a test or two this week.. Canada	Got Baby? Avez vous un bebe?	I had an ultrasound last week and her growth has 'normalized' so it seems they're going to let me carry her to term and deliver naturally. I agree with you girls, I'm not a fan of early inductions or planned C-sections unless there is a serious medical issue. Its important to me that she comes out when she is ready. I have a friend who was induced the other day at 38 weeks because her doctor was going on vacation. That's absolutely ridiculous to me... No way I would agree to that. I don't care, have a different doctor deliver her. I hit 37 weeks yesterday, I can't wait to meet her Everything's is ready to go, I'm just waiting... om my how time flies...i swear it was like 2 months ago you told us you were expecting!
