Canada	Mysterious Medical Forms	from what i have read, this basically means they lost your medical somewhere between POE and UScis. however how we prove this i have no idea, as there is no signature required when we hand over the paperwork at the border, but it is a requirement for us to process our k1, for them to let us in the states. this is sooo frustrating and i'm so sorry for this. but it is a worry i've thought about for a while with me and colleens delay as well. Canada	Mysterious Medical Forms	Man Arabella, what a ridiculous situation. All because someone, somewhere along the long doesn't know how to keep paperwork together? I remember someone on here contacting Dr. Seiden for a copy of their vaccination record. If I remember correctly their request was declined for no good reason. I want to say it was Collens? Maybe? Point being, I doubt Dr. Seiden would give you a copy. I hope I'm wrong. If it were me (and I know it's not) I would probably just throw in the towel and have a new medical done. It is another silly fee, but I bet it would be quicker and less of a headache for you. i asked dr. seiden twice for a copy of the paperwork and was told "under no circumstances can they reveal to me what is in the sealed envelope" which meant getting a copy just in case was impossible. i even asked before i left , casually where my copy was. and was again told..i dont get one...and they are not allowed to give me one.. which i dont get..it's my medical test my history so what the eff gives?? Canada	RFE Received in Mail Today	Does anyone know for sure where the medical goes after the POE? The POE officer I spoke with this morning told me the medical goes to my local CIS office (Orlando). Is that true or does it goe to the National Processing Center? at my POE, the gentleman opened up the envelope took out all the papers and entered some of the data into the computer. i never saw him reseal it or put it away as he left and handed off the process to another guy who had to finish it. kinda makes me a bit disconcerted as those papers were all over the desk from what i have heard they send it off to the local uscis office, the agent confirmed with us our address so he knew where to send it. i just happen to be in chicago, so i'm guessing that is where mine went. Canada	Does the USC get a copy of Packet 3?	Okay, so I know I already posted a question about P3 today.... but that was BEFORE my fiance checked the mail! So, he read to me what each paper said, and it's exactly what Packet 3 is supposed to be... the checklist, then talks about the interview, and medical, etc..... BUT I haven't received that yet, but he has. Is the petitioner supposed to receive a copy of P3 as well? He said the envelope is addressed to him, but the letter inside is addressed to me. Either way, I haven't gotten it yet, so he is scanning it and emailing it to me so I can print off the checklist and send it back ASAP! Has anyone else had this happen? well from what i know the benefiiciary gets the packets and all paperwork after the approval. Unless of course you have a lawyer then they would get it and forward a copy to you. the ony time my USC fiance got anything was when he called about it and they sent him a "complimentary copy". Canada	Credit	Sometimes I wish I never got credit here, I have never seen so much freaking junk mail in my life telling me I have been approved for this and that. I would get some in Canada but not to the extent I do here. the only time i had alot of junk mail in canda, i sent off a request to the CDMA (canadian direct marketing associastion) and it stopped..like..forever after lol. what i did notice was a sentence on the pre approval apps we've been getting ( like 3-5 a week for my husband!! ) thats there is a site you can go to so you no longer get these.. i have a pile that needs to be shreded as is! 1-888-5-opt-out also there are some mailing addies for experian and transunion etc that have marketing departmetns..from waht i seems they are the ones giving out your info. found this for you : from the Federal trade commision Can I reduce the number of unsolicited credit and insurance offers I get? Canada	Credit	being an authorized user doesn't always work and it is not the only way. in my case i was added to all the utility bills in july when we got our apartment. i filled out a cap one application, best buy etc was denied but it put a "touch" on my credit rating, even though they all came back with "no credit not enough credit history" in the last week i got another app in the mail form cap one, i filled it out and was approved right away online. 7 months after being in the usa, and 3.5 months after being put on utiltites, and i got my first credit card. i was not piggy backing on anyone,and the only bills i was on were comcast, comed, and our insurance from geico. that was it. Canada	it's been 6 months waiting for AOS :(	Actually, the AOS has gone faster since my day, so I think six months is good. Definitely take your NOA and completed I-131 to an InfoPass appointment. Choose any option which comes closest to your situation. The point is to get an appointment. Their automated system is way past due being updated wrt process. Be that as it may, it still feels like i get kicked in the stomach everytime i see someone who applied in july or later get their GC. Thus my lack of attendance on the boards lately. Canada	it's been 6 months waiting for AOS :(	i never applied for the i-131 as i have no need or want to go back. as for the GC taking this long. i was told i had to wait til 6 months after the transfer date (which was in june) before i was considered outside processing times. i'm not even allowed to call back USCIS for info even until the end of the month and we filed back in May.. Canada	Turkey day panic!!!	I don't have any recipes - you got plenty of those! I just wanted to remind you to take it easy, and remember to enjoy the day! In our family, we split the menu up. My sister does the turkey and stuffing, and the rest of us bring different side dishes. Makes it less stressful for everyone. thats what we are doing in fact most of my stuff can be done in advance and some even frozen.soi just have to pop it in the warm oven. Canada	Turkey day panic!!!	well last year i got asked to do the sweet potatoe dish so i came up with my own recipe. apparently it was a hit and dis now my signature holiday dish that i always have to make LOL. 4 lbs of sweet potatoes / yams peeled and cut into 1inch pieces 2/3 cup brown sugar. i use the really dark one. 5 tbsp of butter 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp nutmeg pinch of ginger or if you have all spice you can just do a tsp or two of that depending on your likes 2 cups of mini marshmellows 1/2 cup sliced almonds the biggest pita is the slicing of the yams. make sure you have a good knife and get help from hubby my hands were killing me after that! use a 13/9/2 pan and heat oven to 375. combine everything except the yams mashmellows and almonds, into a saucepan. bring to a boil stirring until mixed and sugar is dissolved. pour this over the potatoes toss to coat and cover with foil. bake for 50 mins or so. bascially you want the potatoes to be tender and the syrup to be thick. baste a few times during this. bring temp up to 500, and pour the nuts and marshemellows over the potatoes. bake until marshmellows are melted and brown about 3 mins. Canada	anyone in my situation......???	quite a few of us may aos filers are still waiting..you might have a bit of a wait on your hands. according to uscis they have 6 months before you are outside processing. i have asked for numerous service requests and and am now going on almost 8 months. Arabella jsut recently got her green card for her husband Sean after csc losing his medical and issuing them and RFE after 5 months. Colleens is still waiting and in the same boat as i am. And then there are the people in july and august who got their green cards. However the rule is wait 6 months before complaining according to uscis. Welcome to the Club. AS for the Bio their system screwed up and they forgot to schedule me and Colleens. If you have not heard anyting for bio after waiting a month call and harass them. Canada	tax question about S.S TAX medicare etc.	So i'm looking at hubbys year end pay stub while looking at tax returns and i just noticed the totals of the 4 diff taxes he has taken off..and i'm wondering what the hell is going on and where all that extra money went lol. Federal and state taxes ok i get that one. i understand medicare and social security taxes as well. what i dont understand is this: the amount of medicare and ss taxes taken off is almost the same amount total as the federal and state taxes, those of which we claim on our returns. But there is nowhere to get any credits back for the others stuff?? its just..GONE?? i seem to remember in canada being able to put everyting down on our tax returns, federal and provincial taxes, unemployment pension etc etc. and finding out if we over paid or not. How come i can't do that with us returns? And are all pension considered federal or something? in canada i remember being able to mark down health plans as medicare expenses or soemthing.. i dunno this part just confuses the hell out of me and makes me cringe when i see how much money is cough " stolen" cough from my husbands paycheck... so maybe someone can explain to me where all that extra $$ goes? and not make me hate the IRS etc? Canada	Wedding Details	so i feel kinda jealous of david. jealous is prolly the wrong word actually. he has lots of friends and they are giving him a bachelor party friday night. My friends haven't talked to me in 6 months even though i've tried contacting them, and well my family mother sand sister are well..not very family oriented. so while he is out doign that, i'm goign to be cooking some food stuff etc in advanced for my wedding. yep..thats right..the bride is making her own wedding food. i am a pretty good cook, i love doing things for large parties, and well, i'm also the type that prefers to do alot of stuff herself or it wont get done right. so in honesty i dont really mind. gives me a chance to introduce them to my scottish, english cooking, as his family is of german descent. and i kinda missed out on cooking easter dinner like i had planned. i'm not doing it all, just the main courses and a side dish or two. the rest of the family is helping out with the other food stuffs. so a few days left, and i still have to get my hair cut, get nylons, get my cake, and the in laws still need to clean out the lving room where we are having the ceremony..that seems to be teh biggest challenge..they've only had since oh january to do it../sigh. at least my dress is done, david has his suit, and we have a mini honeymoon planned, with an overnight stay at the sybaris resort. all in all..i'm not nearly as stressed as i should be..lol	Kimbear	Female	Canada	2010-04-07 15:26:00

He is planning to get a suit but hasn't gone in to get it yet and we are planning to have 3 groomsmen with him and they need the suits too. I keep encouraging him to take care of it on the weekend, but when we are together we have been going to see vendors for photography, the pastor, etc, not taking care of his suit which is something he CAN DO HIMSELF! Ugh. I feel your pain. I hope your shoes can be found in the right size. I have had no luck with that. Your wedding dress isn't done yet? The lining of the dress isn't in it? Yikes. Less than 2 months to go for you. Hopefully it will all get worked out. well at least i've been in chicago for all of this month..i'm in the house we will be moving to organizing our room furniture most of our stuff etc. getting dogs used to it so it's keeping me occupied. david is getting used to the 1hr drive to his work in des plaines. new ring and shoes should be here tomorrow, and we founda nice little tux place downthe street where you can buy tuxs starting at 200$. Yay for being in the northwest! but now my dogs are being neruotic and stuff, cuz of the new house and all i'm sure. This weekend we'll be seeing davids parents so i'm hoping we can get the wedding vos ceremony reception finalized. and my dress. cuz i wont be back til my interview and then will have like a few days to actually get stuff done (depending on when i get my visa..interview is the 30th, planning april 11 wedding"). i think maybe were cutting it close lol. Canada	Wedding Details	I have almost everything sorted for the wedding, but OMG how do i get david to get off his butt for his tux fitting?? like i've tried to drag him out to the store 3 times now it's almsot like hes a chicken i had to exchange my shoes..they were too big /cry and the guy screwed up on my ring../sigh i even had my finger measured..he told me 4.5..so we ordered that..and it wont even fit over the knucle..ARGH! kinda worried about my dress that the soon to be mother inlaw is making. we did the fitting etc in dec. but its still sitting there no liner etc in it yet. and the jacket is not made yet. she hasn't been able to find the "right" fabric..so i'm tempted to just say screw the jacket. then there is the issue of guests..i've said i just wanted a short family thing like 2 days after i move. and next year we'll do the revow thing and have it proper. but seems like everyone else wants ppl there.. i wont have a single person, showing up..well even if i wanted ppl to come they wont. /shrug. for the last two weeks i keep saying can we go over the ceremony now as it's his dad that will marry us and i have no clue whats in store. then his dad says something about writing our own vows.. so now im all confused scared and wondering what the heck is going on etc..i feel clueless about my own wedding!! So we finallyd chose April 11th as the official wedding day. And we just ordered our wedding bands from Zales. Slowly starting to get evryting ready. Davids mom gave me a wedding book, but i'ts too fancy and too big i find for the small ceremony we're doing this year. Think i'm a save it for next year when we have the proper wedding. i'ts one of those fancy hallmark ones with the white bows and veil like material on the cover. Canada	Wedding Details	The dress is almost the same but ivory color, and the jacket is not going to be part of the outfit, it will be separate, and a bit longer with 3/4 sleeves. and omg i'm so fussy..it took me since dec to find a pair of shoes i liked! lol you can't see it but the toe of the shoe is ballet slipper like, its more rounded not pointy so i wont get toe cramps thus why i haven't worn heels in ohh 15 years! Canada	Canadian Timelines	ya thats a very hard to answer question. i mean we can give you generics but each situation is different. some apply for the k1 and move within 6 months..others dont. it really depends on if you use a lawyer, or file yourself, have any RFE's, or any medical issues regarding vaccinations for the medical and how much proof of relationship you have or if you go to vancouver vs montreal. USCIS does list "estimated processing times", but those do not mean squat lol. i guess my k1 was one of the worst case scenarios..just look at my timeline. lol. the entire journey from filing the i 129f to getting my visa was over 2 years... ways to make the process quicker: do not use a lawyer and make sure your Canuck lives near vancouver lol. that alone shaves sooo much time off the process	Kimbear	Female	Canada	2011-01-21 16:16:00
Canada	Montreal Interview-Upcoming	When they say proof of domicile they just mean a copy of the usc's passport and drivers licence. that was all that was required for out K1, i mean you can't file it if the usc is not living in the usa. lol. bank letter, a employment letter are good, did you have or can you get IRS transcripts for the last year? i brought the last 3 years, and also the last 6 months of pay stubs. Canada	Custom house with no CDN Bank account	ok your right. as was told to me today; "you will have to confirm that they have a holding account for credit card payments." alas..the only reason i got rid of my canadian bank account is that i was tired of paying monthly fees for not using it or carrying a balance. i just dont understand why the mail system from chicago to toronto takes so damn long...its a 5 hour drive by car..and yet mail both ways takes upwards of 3-4 weeks..Le Sigh. Canada	Custom house with no CDN Bank account	I only have my canadian credit card left, no bank account. Can i still use custom house to pay my cc from my us bank account? Been seding monthly cheques but it seems to take a month for them to get there and be processed and for the 2nd time my payment has either been late or lost. Then just a little while ago I got a email saying Decision. Is this normal??? These emails are driving me bonkers..lol..At one point I could not wait for a email from them..and now..well, it's making me nervous.. Canada	AOS'rs...	lol so i've gotten 4 uscis emails now. first one was status : card production ordered, then decision then card production ordered, now i just got another one saying post decision activity and that my application was approved.. is it just me or the order they send the emails in is mixed up..makes for confusion lol Woohoo!!!! I am sooo happy Kimbear, if I was not at work, I would actually be dancing! A very well deserved AOS approval, hats off to your patience and strong will! I know you had to wait a long time for your K-1 approval and then the AOS was a pain too! But its finally over, Congratulations!
