Canada	can i still pay off my credit card in the USA from canada?	Td had no issue with me being in the usa, i just send them a cheque each month for my payment. but it does take about 30 days for them to get it and process the payment. what they did recomend was closing the account, i could still get a statement pay my balnce and have a minimum monthly but i was no longer able to use the card as an actual credit card. for me this was better in the end anyway. Canada	AOS talk.. Form 131..	Sapphire is right..i think i sent in like 6 pictures. you have to remember, when you send the aos package..all the different forms get pulled apart and sent to different places. so what you should do is carefully follow the instructions on each form. work on one at a time, when yoru done with say i-765, paperclip it together and put it aside..and forget what you put with it, then do the 1-131, same thing and then i-485. i know it seems simple enought to say but i put this with that etc..but you have to do them all independantley of each other. also include an aos letter..there are a few around here one i posted a while ago for slider and a few others stating what is in the package and that you have the receipt for photos and its attached to one of the forms. this is the only thing you wont have more than one of. Canada	Proving domicile while IN the US?	this issue keeps comming up for no reason. the checklist that asks for domicle is a GENERIC one used for BOTH TYPES OF VISAS. but if you read the uscis site you would see you dont have to prove domicile for a FIANCE K1 VISA. I sent in the last 3 years as well, actually the last one was an acutal copy of the return and w2, and the other 2 years were transcripts we had to have IRS send us. Better safe than sorry lol. Canada	k1 vISA AOS papers	OK I give up. I can't tell after reading all the instructions, and I see different answers. When Submitting my 485, do I need to send A CERTIFIED copy of my marriage certificate? We were married yesterday and I'm not sure how long it will take to get one from the sec. of state office... just wondered it was mandatory, in case it takes longer than i hope of a few days. Thanks!!! I did'nt certify anything i just sent in copies. Don't know who is filing your marriage certificate, but personally we were married in a small ceremony by a friend who was a minister in our own living room. We went the next week and filed it ourselves at the court house and were able to obtain however many copies with the county stamp for a fee (like less then $20 for about 10 I think). I knew I'd need a few copies along the way with this immigration crappola! I'd send a certified copy myself, why not avoid a possible RFE - just my 2 cents. This is the same way we did it minus the ceritied copy. we were able to get liek 5 copies a week after the wedding, the more you order the cheaper it was at teh count clerks office. Thanks! I asked if we could bring the certificate ourselves to the county office but our church says they mail it themselves and would not allow us to take it, just their policy.. So the courthouse will not issue us a certified copy until it is received by them and recorded. I am just hoping that that only takes a couple of days. It will be the final thing to put in the package. ya they told us the same thing so the minister aka David's father mailed it in and a week later we went in filled out the requisitioin for them paid the moula and were good to go. Canada	AOS papers... 485 question - which expiry date do I enter?	Hey Frostiana, I just sent in the vaccination sheet and i was ok. My case went through CSC and i never even got an interview. Canada	How stressful is the AOS process?	My POE is next month, and my wedding is in February, but obviously we soon-to-be immigrants can never rest! I'm wondering how demanding the process is after I've entered the US. I know that once I'm married, I have to apply for AOS, EAD, and AP and then wait. Is preparing all those forms as much of a project as preparing the initial K-1 petition? I'm going to do more research and read the FAQ, but I just want a general idea from actual people. Not very stressful, its just more forms with more info that they want. alot of just updated stuff and the proofs you got married etc. Mostly pretty darn boring, espeically waitin for the EAD, and fingerprint appointment. Some get interviews some do not. Most of the time if your case is transfered to California you wont have an interview but it may take longer to get teh AOS then those who did have an interview. Probably the no 1 problem most people had during this stage was with the medicals, and the i-693 or the lost medicals. Just make sure you have plenty of copies of your vaccination worksheet from the medical and you should be find. take your time breath and enjoy the fact your both together. There is no real rush to do the AOS, i actually waited like a month or so til i had my bank account, social seciruty card etc. to do it. that was required of me to be added to hubbys pension insurance etc..so i waited for that and got printouts to send with the AOS as well. the more proof the better i always say! Canada	K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal	much easier said then done when you have an incompetent lawyer and you do their job and harass the usa offices as a cdn almost every day week hour. i was seriously obsessed with timelines, VJ etc. it causes so much stress on each other as well because when issues do crop up you tend to blame the other party just because you need to yell at someone other than a machine. now i look back and realize that i made an a$$ out of myself numberous times, and i feel so bad for the stupid fights i had with my then fiance, now husband. and i feel so bad. but then i see that aside from some issues we are happy, and i try hard to work on things now to improve our marriage, and i guess at times, i'm trying to still make up for all the whining and complaining i did during the k1. There's some points i want to clarify. - Copy of original 129f and all originals submitted... Means what exactly? I didn't do any copies of what i sent for my 129f (oops) This is a just in case. - Original of P3 and P4 and copies.. Means i have to make copies of the instructions document i received (P3)? they actually take the p4 from you and you will not have a copy left for your records. - Intend to marry letter, only from my fiancé USC? From both of you - I should bring a copy of my USC fiancé passport, driver's license, birth certificate(and if he lost his BC?) bascially for the evidence of domicile on checklist. to prove he is a us citizen. - And of course my police check, it's written they searched the national repository for criminal records in Canada, it's the same thing as CIPC? should be I hope i can get an interview date this week even if i sent my P3 back on friday. If i can get a late May/begining of June interview that would be the best! Me and my fiancé we planned a great way for me to move to USA, there's a BIGGG foosball tournament in St-Louis on July 4th weekend, and we could go play in it since it's on the way of the drive to Dallas.. Let's hope for it!!! usually takes a few weeks for them to log in the packet/ check to make sure all the papers are ok and nothing is missing. fastest i've see an interview is 2 weeks from p3. You 2 must be so happy If i just sent my packet 3 today, will i most likely have an interview date as soon as they log in my packet in their computer or i will have to wait 1-2 months before MTL give more interview dates? Give it two weeks then start calling DOS to find out if your p3 has been logged in and if it's ok and they will let you know if / when your interview is scheduled. I know i need affidavit of support, evidence of support, intent of marry letter, the NOAs letters from him, do i need more? And as you most certainly will have a date within six months, there's no harm in getting it out of the way. Except that, once you do receive an interview date, you'll be itching to do something and won't have anything left to get done! Hehe. The good thing is, if you happen to be like some of the cases we've seen where you're only given a couple of weeks notice for the interview, you won't have to worry about rushing to get it done should your schedule be difficult to navigate. Do i need to do that for the K-1 Visa? I read somewhere it's not useful for the K-1? Thanks y'all lol well he has his state id and drivers licence thats all you need really and your submitting i134 with the w2 and tax transcripts. it's not like we need to prove that since we are doing this so we can move to the usa in the first place Yeah i don't have these pictures yet.. i thought i could wait to take them. I'll just complete the application and have them for the interview! Thanks for answering my questions so fast! ya since the passport pics are in two's you will need 2 for the interview and may as well make the other 2 for the ds160. i tried to use a pic from my cam phone on a white background but it went phoey no good lol. Canada	K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal	as soon as i got my p3 in december i called for my medical appointment and had to wait a month for it. but that was in toronto. right after my medical i called dos and found out my interview date. so for me roughly one month from sending back p3 i got my interview date. Canada	K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal	Ok so i think i'm all ready for my interview. i have a binder sized accordian folder. and i have the following in it: copy of original i129f and all originals submitted including stuff my lawyer never sent / used. copies of all relationship evidence from noa2 to now, travel itineraries, copies of passport stamps, boarding passes, hotel receipts, pics etc. copies of both noa's and reaffimation receipts. copies of all uscis, nvc, consulate, and congressman correspondance. original p3 and p4 from consulate with copies. copies of complete p3 that i mailed back in december ds 156 ds 156k ds 160 all pages ds 160 confimation ds 230 part 1 p3 checklist passport bio page original long form birth certificate and copy medical envelope (including post medical stuff done ie: missing vaccinations, mammogram and ultrasound for the lump dr. seiden found) police certificate updated letter of intent i-134 employment letter from davids work tax transcripts for 2007, 2008, and 2009 pay stubs for january to now copy of davids state id, driver's licence and passport. the only thing still to get is my expressport evenlope 12x15 and the last two passport pics. i *think* i'm done...lol	Kimbear	Female	Canada	2010-03-10 18:49:00

Canada	K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal	There is a way to tell if they physically received the packet from the NVC, you can use dhl tracking. based on or around the date that nvc sent out your case. from that day it took another week or so for it to be input into the system that it was logged. http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef you would type in EXP 15 FEB 2010A today . adjust the dates based on when your nvc says they sent out your packet. You will surely notice your packet among the ones going to the different embassies around the world.... just look for the ones going to montreal. mine was 3lbs. So my fiance' and I will get the forms filled out including the online DS-160 and I will send them back to Canada with him (since he is visiting this weekend). Hopefully his packet 3 will be in the mailbox when gets back home on Monday and he can mail it on Tuesday. All this waiting for a checklist! Such a simple piece of paper but he needs his! I did email Montreal too though to "resend his packet 3". Hopefully one way or the other he will get his packet so we can get moving on with this process. dos told us roughly the same thing..but when you get the envelope and look at the postal date on it the stamp you will see it was mailed out later than the day you were told. mine was suposedly mailed out on jan 18. it wasn't. in fact my letter on p4 is dated jan 22 and was mailed out on the monday after. i physically got it in the mail feb 6th. i think when they say it was mailed out they mean it was sent to the dept to prepare it for mailing, then it has to go to the internal mail room, then it gets physically given to canada post. my p3 same deal letter dated dec 10th, postal stam dated the 17th. seems the actual letters are sent a week after they tell you they were sent. so just be patient. Canada	K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal	I have waited 21 days from the NVC sending our packet to Montreal. Is it worth it to try and call Montreal to see where packet 3 is? If it is worth it, what phone number do I call? I was hoping the packet 3 letter would be in my fiance's mailbox today but no such luck. I have to laugh at the "K-1 Flow chart" Yeah right, step 7 says it will take 5-7 days from the consulate receiving our packet to send us the forms list and check list. I looked at other people's timelines of recent and 16 to 21 days seemed the going average and that was over Christmas. Where is my fiance's packet 3? CanadaPost to blame? it is impossible to get an answer from montreal. i've tried 4 times now with emails and never got a reply other than the automatic. What you can do is call DOS first thing in the morning, they will tell you everything you need. keep in mind i got my new affirmed noa2 in nov and my p3 mid dec. sent back same day and montreal only logged it in mid january. so for me it was a bit over a month for each step. Did you all get a letter, an email, or just talk to the DOS? we called dos first thing this am. they also said that the p4 aka interview letter was mailed out friday. just keep trying to call if you want to know in advance the date. congratulations to all the interviewees!
