K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresundercover agent spams?

Your words, not mine. Read your original post here.

I'm simply going off what you said.

that doesnt mean i said im going lie
the original post was about me asking whether or not they will check for paperwork IF i ask them to move the interview date due to him being active military and the possibility of him getting deployed.
i didnt word it,as well as i should have and just did, came out as if i was gonna lie when in fact with deployments its a hit or miss.
thats why i got so scared when i got this message

Why would the person tell you that you have 48 hours to respond? It sounds like blackmail or something? if they were government official why wouldnt they just report you without the games?

better yet why would they send me this message about four hours after they made this account?
i just wanted to check, because they mentioned that i will have my interview in ankara, that made me not think about the possibility of this whole thing being a spam or scam

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresundercover agent spams?

It sounds like somebody is trying to rattle your cage. Perhaps in the future you will think twice about openly discussing lying to the government, though.

we dont all consider lying the same thing.thanks for your comment tho

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresundercover agent spams?
ok so a couple of weeks ago,i made a post, and silly ol me used the words " lying " and " embassy " in the same sentence ( i didnt get to explain what i meant that well and i think it came out wrong )
anyways a lot of people disagreed with me,told me that lying would fall under fraud category blah blah blah, pretty much anything a legal adviser would tell you.
the topic pretty much died, without anyone threatening me to report me or anything else for fraud ( i guess everyone while disagreeing understood it was a case language mix up ).
well last night i received a message from a guy :

You have provided enough information about your case on this site and the other site you are a member of to cause alarm. The information gathered will also identify your case number assigned by the national visa center.

Since I have close ties with the federal government I am bound by law to report any potential fraudulent activity with regards to the U.S. government. Your case seems to fall under this category.

I am planning to send a report to the National Visa Center and the United States Embassy in Ankara regarding your case.

You have one chance to convince me that your case does not involve
fraud. You have 48 hours madam...

the thing is,my case hasnt even gone to NVC,and VJ blanks out every other link to any other immigration website,is it really just a spam?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-156 AND D-157 QUESTIONS

Thanks Nik + Heather, I guess I cantry and estimate the years. If I point out that the dates are estimates, and say I get one wrong would that cause a problem? Or is it better to say unknown? I dont want to complicate things.
Nik + Heather, do you know anyone that has been refused a visa and questioned about it at their interview. I would
Imagine they would have that on their record. If they ask though, no problem I will answer the question.
Any females here that had to fill in DS- 157?
Thank you!

you can find your answer as far as 157 goes here:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshow long could it possibly take?

Five months would be December. Your package wasn't received until July. There is nothing you can do to speed up the process. June filers haven't even been processed yet.

that is what im asking tho,how can they update volume charts or give information about the receipts or cases pending for the month of july when a lot of June filers are still waiting

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshow long could it possibly take?

Next month is not five months. It is five months from July which would be December.

i counted wrong,no doubt about it but wouldnt it be nov?

get in line it is going to be a LONG wait!

it would be much easier to wait if we at least knew that the package was accepted, wouldnt it?

I was aware that CSC is about two weeks behind.Recently they updated their mass volume charts, giving the info about the month of July (according to their website their received our package on July 1st ).
Putting up the statics about the month of July would indicate that they have already gone through all packages received on July, correct?
Because if so,we haven't received our second notice of action yet.
Feel free to educate me on that.We send our package in June, according to them they received it in July that would make next month the fifth month that our package is in CSC and we still haven't got anything.

If you don't have an NOA2 yet, then there isn't any reason to contact NVC at the moment. :)

i know,i just want to know where to go from there, thats all.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresnvc process

After USCIS approves your I-129F petition, it's forwarded to the National Visa Center to be assigned a case number (it shouldn't take long...usually 5 days tops), then it's sent to your local US Embassy for visa review, processing and issuance.

For permanent resident/green card applicants (like IR1/CR1), NVC serves a different function...they conduct all the reviews before sending the petition to the US Embassy...so that process takes longer, depending on the circumstances of the applicant(s).

Applicants contact the NVC for a variety of reasons, but mostly to find out if their petitions have been forwarded to the US Embassy already and if they have their case number.

so there is no absolute need to contact them if anything goes normal.correct?
the reason i ask is,my fiance and i have filed for k-1,he is active military, currently stationed outside of the states, going back for training in about two weeks.
we still havent gotten approved or denied.during his time in training he wont be able to access internet or phone service, therefor, the fact that majority of people contact nvc worried me a little.
never the less they will contact us with the new case number, correct?
thank you by the way

I'm not very familiar with the way NVC works. So I have a question.
Why do people contact NVC via phone every day?what happens if one is not able to?Is it really that crucial to the process?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi can not believe this.

ONE Year is sufficient for either the visa or the AOS (unless some specific consulate requirement says other wise) For the AOS you attach the most recent year's tax return and give a statement of gross income reported for the previous 2 years (currently that would be, if filed today 2009, 2008, 2007) and they have the option to request full copies.

Your fiance can also file his 2007 taxes now. He can download the forms. (google the forms 1040/2007) If he owes no tax there is no penalty for filing late.

That he is active duty military does not excuse his need to file taxes.

thank you,i just thought it might somehow effect it ,since it effects poverty guidelines.
and also how does filing for years before work?like say he starts filing for 07 from...next month, will it take a year like normal taxing?and also would it be a problem if our embassy or AOS asks for 07 copy before the year is up?
( i dk if i managed to word it out right,im sorry if i havent)

In our case they only cared about 2009 but ymmv since you are in Malaysia.

nah,I'm Iranian and live in Iran.Malaysia was just the most convenient place for us to meet.
well I'm not sure if one year is enough, every website or every lawyer we checked told us we will need three years of tax return.however they did not know whether or not his military status would effect it
thelastpetitionerFemaleIran2010-10-01 17:33:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi can not believe this.

you can order a tax return ranscript from the irs for 2008. it is free.

the problem and question is about 07,when his income was lower than poverty guidelines and failed to file taxes

ok so i was talking about my fiance requesting a tax return copy from irs, since he lost his 2008's.he told me that he didnt file taxes back in 2007,and thats what they need right?considering we filed in 2010,they will need 2009,08 and 07?
and is that enough to nominate us for co sponsorship?
mind you his active duty military

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresToughest Countries to get approval from

I understand what you are trying to say, but I think there is a nicer way to word it other than using "terrorists countries" :)

as an iranian i am not offended.
you have to realize people dont look at the population as terrorists, they look at the government and a minority of the population as terrorism supporters/terrorists.
US doesnt have an embassy in iran and that should define the worst case of " terrorist country" for you right there.

HOWEVER i think the case in majority of countries is what makes the process easier or harder

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVaccine Information
the way we did it was i had some blood work done to see how effective the vaccination i got in my childhood has been and whether or not i need to redo some of them.
after that i took the test results along with the vaccination card my pediatritionist used to keep track of my vaccination to the major vaccinating institute ( its the institute responsible for buying vaccines, testing them and doing free vaccination for selected diseases,i dk what its like in canada but it should be close to that ) they checked the blood work, and my vaccination card, and issued my international vaccination card, after that they took care of my chicken pox vaccine ( i have never had it,so i had to get a special one ) and that was it.
i hope it helped but it should give you a general idea

Hmmm... I was just thinking. Do you think there will be an onslaught of applications after the fee goes down? People like me waiting to file until then? I certainly don't want to get shoved even further back. Maybe I will just send it in as soon as possible to avoid the rush after the fee change.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 VISA FOR EGYPTIAN GIRL

I was told by someone that even if it is simply a religious ceremony and not a legal US ceremony, they may view you two as being married, which does affect the K1, because it is a fiance visa and not a spousal visa.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong?

thats not correct,it depends on the consulate yes,but it also depends on what you call it,in the paperwork or interview,or how the pictures that you take to the interview ( csc and nvc dont really care about how bona fide the relationship is,they just want evidence that you have met, like boarding passes, stamps and what not ) seem.if its a rather wedding looking ceremony not mentioning it would be the best.
again as long as youre not legally married, you could file for k-1

jesus christ,he did not pull the abuse card.
how is abuse?he is using his right.his right to not marry the person at one point he THOUGHT is the one for him.
i suggest you google the definition of abuse.
a way out on the other hand ( more " productive" so to speak ) is to tell her to return the furniture, get her money back, and move out,and then wait and see if the petitioner will change his mind, worst case scenario she'll go back home.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquick question

hello fellow VJers on one of the 150billion forms/posts i have been reading it says

4. Declaration of how you met in person in the last two years. This should be a single typed page regarding question 18 of the I-129F. Make sure to sign and date it.

so my question is what do i write in the QA 18 box. something like see filed declaration? i could not seem to locate a example and im sure there is 50 somewhere here but it might be easier if someone just could point me in the right direction :)

thanks everyone in advance

chris aka kofi broni

just explain how you met and how your relationship got the point of engagement ( keep in mind the dates you mention in q18,as in when you met and what not will be the ones questioned in the interview )

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCR-1 instead of K-1?

Well as I said in another thread, someone just got an RFE last week so they ARE looking at I-129F's over there.

i really do hope thats the case, but it could also be that someone spilled coffee on the case and decided to look at it.
hope for the best, expect the worst.i dont blame her for her negativity, its needed in any legal process
thelastpetitionerFemaleIran2010-10-11 19:18:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCR-1 instead of K-1?
gap, take it from an unlucky ( in general ) csc petitioner, there is no guarantee that oonce you send off your petition they wont send their forces to focus on k-1 instead of cr-1
and all the people who petition while outside of the states have to go through california.
so regardless,it cant go much longer.
i havent personally seen my fiance in about five months, and cant afford another trip, trust me i know how hard it gets, but worst case scenario, you wait five months, you contact them, they wont replay or move a muscle and you move on to cr-1 with a clear conscious

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Prep.

The US classifies it as an IMB if it's primary focus is on hooking up American citizens and LPR's with foreigners, or if it charges different fees for Americans than it charges for foreigners. If a dating or matchmaking website qualifies as an IMB then they are supposed to collect biographical and criminal history from the American citizen and make this information available to the foreigner before they initiate contact between them. Part of the reason for IMBRA disclosure with the I-129F is to make sure that IMB's have complied with this requirement. The other reason is so that Department of State can provide this information to the beneficiary before they apply for the visa.

Marital history doesn't necessarily have to be disclosed to the foreign beneficiary, but it does have to be disclosed to USCIS with the petition. If the beneficiary is asked questions about the USC's marital history at the interview and they don't know about it then the chances of approval drop dramatically.

A history of any crimes covered by the IMBRA is required to be disclosed to the beneficiary. Even if the petitioner doesn't tell the beneficiary about them, Department of State will.

thank you,great answer as always
