K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Question!

Ok so if you're the beneficiary and you listed your current address where you live as long as it's outside the US and you've lived there for more than 12 months you're all set. That was exactly what they were looking for.

thank you

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Question!

I honestly don't know. I was 2 years old when I moved to Scotland with my family so I obviously didn't remember the address. I had to have my mom do some serious digging to find some old records or bills or whatever with our address listed on it. It's possible that it would somehow come up as an RFE if it was listed in some database that USCIS came across. It's also possible that they would have no way of knowing where you lived 20 years ago when you were a minor. I can't say either way for certain but what I can say is that if you knowingly put that you never lived outside of the US when in actuality you have, it could be considered a misrep if they find out about it. Your best bet is to attempt to correct the information somehow, I know there has been a thread about this recently although I don't know if it had any useful information because I didn't actually read it. Try here: http://www.visajourn...representation/

Best of luck!

Edited to ask: Just to clear up some confusion, are you the USC or the beneficiary? I'm the USC so when it asked me my last address outside the US of more than 1 year I listed it, even though it was a long time ago. If you're the foreign beneficiary then your last address outside the US of more than one year is your current address if you've lived at your current address for more than 12 months. Hopefully that helps..

im the beneficiary,i just noticed the " last residence " part of it,got a heart attack for about ten minutes, this is what not reading properly gets you :bonk:
thelastpetitionerFemaleIran2010-10-20 16:06:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Question!

This is incorrect. The question is asking if you've lived outside of the US for more than 12 months at a time, and if so, where? Even if it was 20 years ago you still must disclose it. I lived in Scotland with my family between the ages of 2 and 5 years old. That was 20 years ago as well but I still listed it because it definitely happened.

2 questions, what if you are in OPs shoes?you cant remember the address and/or it doesnt exist anymore?
i personally stated none(as far as i can remember ),because i read the question wrong and didnt get it correctly, would that cause an RFE?or get considered a misinterpretation?
PS1: IF i stated the address,it was the last address ive been residing in for the past 6 years, would that be enough?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresnvc for june filers

Do you get a notification that the NVC has the file? how can you tell when it gets there and to the consulate of your country?

as far as i have heard,NVC sends you a NOA like paper, noticing you of your new case number and all, apart from that, after you get your second notice of action you can try calling NVC.
im not really familiar with the process after CSC ,since we have been stuck in csc for about 110 days.but search the forum to find more information and try looking at guides and flowcharts.good luck

Congrats on getting the NOA2!! How long does it usually take after the receiving the NOA2 to the interview?

depends on the average waiting time for the consulate,im sure you can find it on your consulate's website.add that to 3 weeks to a month ( again worst case scenario ) of NVC and youll get an estimated timeline

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBenificiary Interview Date

I'm sure that someone has asked this question in the past. But, this forum is so extensive and well informed that I don't want to waste time looking for the similar question asked months in the past. So...that being said, If my Fiancee' interview date is scheduled after my NOA2 experation date. Does this mean I would have to apply for an extension of my NOA2? Thanks, much Mahalo's from Hawaii...

i just asked a very well educated member on the matter.
he said if consulate knows that wait is from their end ( IE the appointment waiting time ) they will extend it,but if they are waiting on the petitioner to submit papers, the petitioner will have to email the embassy or contact them somehow to let them the petition is still a go

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAbout to submit and have a few final questions!

Yea, I can understand that, I feel the same way haha.

But good thing is (if you can call a RFE a good thing) that when they usually send an RFE it means they are ready to process the NOA2 but just need a little bit more information.

From reading this website for over a year, the trend I saw (for members registered here) usually follows as: an RFE is sent, answered and then the NOA2 is given out soon after, though that always isn't the case.

Either way, No RFE = Good thing :P.

pretty much service centers working and processing petitions on time = good thing in general :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAbout to submit and have a few final questions!

I wouldn't worry. It really falls to the discretion of the adjucator and most should (I would think), be able to tell the difference between an original signature in black and a black photocopy.

never the less i have waited nearly four months,it would really blow if after all this wait i got an RFE,you know what i mean?
thelastpetitionerFemaleIran2010-10-23 15:42:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAbout to submit and have a few final questions!

This is incorrect.

The USCIS accepts either color. The form itself should be typed or filled out in black ink. The signatures can be either color. Blue is HIGHLY recommended as it is very easy to tell that the form is not photocopied.

this.
i made the mistake of signing with black pen and now im constantly worried about getting an RFE
thelastpetitionerFemaleIran2010-10-23 15:38:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAbout to submit and have a few final questions!
your fiane doesnt need to sign anything but G325a
Also, youre not required to send the fiance's birth certificate, some do just to make sure ( i was one of them )
ALSO,we copied all pages of our passports, just to prove that the passport is ours and highlighted the stamps and dates,so far so good,no RFE
another also, i suggest you sign every piece of evidence, write your name and the date, with a blue pen ( assuming youre sending copied evidence, cause you shouldnt send any originals ) just in case.
then again im a bit OCD
good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCommunication between fiance and parents

OUr photos are a little of everying however we are pretty quiet about PDA in public- there is only one picture of us kissing... we have lots of the self-portrait type ones....some with family, and then at different places.

Now here is another question- I started printing the messages from my mom's fb. Israel has called my parenst mom and dad since day one. Do you think i should include the stuff because it says mom?? My mom's wording is very clear that we are engaged such as

"What a surprise Marissa had for us with her engagement ring! She is very happy and we are as well. We only wished we could have met you prior to the engagement. We are so looking forward to our visit with you and your family come this summer. Please say hello to your family. Wish your father a very happy birthday from us on the 23rd. We enjoyed speaking to him a few weeks ago."

or

"How are you? Where do I start with my writing to you? Words can not describe what this trip meant to me....being able to meet you, speak to you in person, getting to know you, getting to know your country and especially your loving family."

ISrael responds with "Thank you Mom, i'm really fortunate to have Marissa"

or something like that-

In ghana culture its not unusal to call people mom/dad/aunt/unlcle- what do others think about this. Even his brothers who email my mom call her mom!

Im torn...

i know that consulates evaluate the petitions based on the country of origin,so,i think you should talk to someone who has been through ghana consulate.
good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCommunication between fiance and parents

I would say photos with family is great to include showing not just you have a relationship with your fiancee but so does your family. But I have question of my own are there particular types of photos they are looking for, my husband loves to take pictures of us when he is kissing me or holding me and afraid they might think that some are just to intimate hugs and kisses......But we don't go to many places when I'm there but have lots of photos to chose from already just don't know how many and so forth...I been there with him 3 times already and we haven' t made it to interview stage yet..

Thanks

same goes for us,but we decided to go with the most presentable pictures, not too kissy huggy needy, not too cold and indifferent.you know what i mean?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Visa--My responsibility

Baron makes a good point, about the relationship being solid first, but let me ask this as a counterpoint--wouldn't bringing her over and actually spending time together do just that? By being together for that period of time, we would be able to really confirm our relationship. And isn't that what the 90 day period is for? If it wasn't, then why not just make the time period 30 days? or 7 days?

if you care about the responsibility you accept, then you wouldnt do that.
this is the good thing about long distance relationship, both parts go through pretty much hell.
what makes you think if she couldnt make time for you back in Philippines things will change when she comes to the states?
those 90 days are like a last check before marriage, seems like thats not what you need, you dont even seem sure about wanting to marry her.

A relationship in a situation like yours is an investment, its worth it,yes the costs will go up,for calling, for visiting and so on and so on,but if its worth it,then its worth it.
it shows lack of commitment from her side.
i suggest you read major life changing events forum to learn about frauds and the red flags.
whatever you do with your ex is your own business, but you have to finish this first, contact the embassy and let em know you want to cancel the visa

yup I understand, just made me sad if i read a sad story :crying:

no one gets in a long distance relationship, hoping for it to fail, however when it comes to it,its better to end it when you find out rather than wasting more time.im glad that at least if he is suspecting fraud he is getting to the bottom of it now.
one thing that pisses me off is people who see signs of fraud and still go with it out of the goodness of their heart and high hopes and wishes

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Visa--My responsibility

If I were her I'd buy me the ticket myself, see the place myself... and examine my heart and conscience... Do I really love him? If yes then I'd stay... Does he really love me? I'd certainly know... and would stay or otherwise!!!
It's YOUR choice to notify the embassy that you have had cold feet... You're a law abiding US Citizen, aren't you? So, do whatever that suits the law!!

obviously he doesnt love her,so going there and seeing him wouldnt do HER any good.spending a day,let alone 90 with a man youre not married to is a shame for muslims. ( it could lead to pre-marital sexual activities that are not appreciated )
bottom line is OP,keep in mind if you cancel her visa, you wont be able to change your mind about your love for her and all that stuff.but at the end of the day, canceling the visa now is much better than sending her back as a divorce
PS: i could have sworn that OP had his location set as pakistan.well if his beneficiary isnt in pakistan the ignore the first part of my statement

Regardless if I am making a fuss about it, its only my opinion and I am certainly entitled to it!

you really think if a consulate worker was reading this he or she would honestly care about the parents?
REALLY?
the son is an adult,so are the parents, the k-1 is the sons case, and the parents IF found in real life will have their own.the parents have to be held accountable for their illegal activities in real life, would not, will not,and should not effect their son,get a clue

With all due respect, all you've done is fill out forms and send them in and your petition is not yet approved. While it may have been easy so far, it's not over by a long shot. Petition approval IS the easy part. Getting the visa is a whole other animal you haven't experienced yet.

yet i have not heard anything hard about it,the hardest part ( while is the easiest ) seems to be the interview.
i suppose we both can agree, a plain and simple k-1 process is not exactly lawyer worthy, unless there is more complication to it such as over stays and what not

not all lawyers are good at what they do,if you are as big of a hands on person as you say you are,a lawyer is a waste of money, you can either fill the paperwork with example forums you find online OR you can fill your paperwork and take em to a lawyer to just confirm, worst case scenario youll pay for one meeting about 500 bucks ,not 2500+
