K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	December Filers	Just got the packet and interview date email today and its set for August 10th. We wanted things to work out where I would be able to attend his interview and fly back together. However, I have a HUGE trial starting on the 11th and will be begging my coworkers to cover for me those 3 days - since of course the next week I have no court at all . Once he is approved and has visa in hand we will have approximately 2 weeks to get ready for our scheduled Labor Day wedding...cutting it close consulate lol. I thought he'd be home in Adana by now and when I called his parents, they thought the same this morning. You wanna talk frustrated? When he called the other day he said he was waiting for standby flight; he missed his first flight out because boss did not return his Passport!!!! Now, he's still waiting--- no fone, no internet, no bloody nothing! How long does that take from that place?! By far, this WAS HELLA WORSE THAN ANY OTHER KIND OF WAITING ON THIS VJ! The NOA2, the NVC and even the letter from Embassy? That wait, was peaceful. Seriously. For those of you who do get to talk with your groom/bride everyday and some of you have been really blessed to have visited them? ... please be grateful because when you cannot communicate at all? You learn that what you have does not ever get taken for granted. ... I'm going to stop venting before I say something really ugly about K's boss! lol. I'm going to drink my coffee, listen to my yoga music and ......B R E A T H E! Mari Wooosaah my friend. I know how hard it is not knowing whats going and not being able to talk to Kadir. I also read the Nolo book.. but I didn't even know it existed until like 3 months after we got the NOA1... for now I'll keep my lawyer, cuz he fills out all the forms for me.. even though I do have to quadruple check them ;-P we hired a lawyer because I just literally had no idea about the process and really didn't want to screw anything up. Thank GOD I found VJ or else we'd probably have gotten an RFE at the VERY least lol So thanks to alllll you guys. You're the bestest! Well good luck with that. Im too cheap to hire someone lol. I HAD written a scathing email response, and sent to Byron for review, and he - being the polite diplomat - told me not to send it and sent his own very nice and polite email about time limits, etc. Sooo....I am still upset but don't want to rock the boat any further Honestly, up until today this attorney has seemed brilliant to me. The 'uncertain' comment rocked me though....why am I paying so much money for 'uncertainty'??? Aghhh ohhh I will have to think about this some more!! I am an attorney and I am not even hiring anyone to help us with this process. I have enough friends that practice immigration to ask for advice, I read the Nolo book on fiance visas and VJ is the best resource Ive found. Honestly, the only time you need to hire an attorney is 1) If USCIS claims you/your fiance' is inadmissible 2) If USCIS fails to act on or approve application because of bureaucracy instead of law 3) If you will lose your rights if USCIS doesn’t act quickly ( i.e., lottery) 4) If there is some reason you feel there is no hope of getting visa or green card Your lawyer is incompetent! I asked our lawyer for a copy of my divorce decree translation (translated in the US). When I read it i saw a mistake, my ex husband's name is Suchai and not Surachai, would I get another checklist for that. I hope not. As soon as I received the email this morning, I went immediately to the embassy got my 2 passport (old and new),  went to have my old ppt cancelled then post office to send both cancelled old passport and new one.  LOL  I was driving around Bangkok and It was raining hard. (I have to send before they change their mind.  LOL joke) They will get it on Wednesday noon.  But they still keep a few civil docs (originals).  They might send it back together with my passport with a visa I hope.    How abt you what's the lates news with your visa?  Hope all is well with you my friend. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Visa Status From Admin Processing to Ready (Pls help)	it's changing everytime you call them because the callcenter is also checking online but they are just referring to your status online coz the decision when it'll be finish will be from the consul who did your interview and the final decision will be from the higher department.how long are you been waiting? coz usually it finish 2weeks from the date they received the docs but sometimes it takes longer than that...I'm trying to extend my patience and to just think that everything will fall into places.God knows how much we love our husband so don't lose hope..it's just one of the trials in our marriage.just hang on my friend..and always think positive.   I received and email today from the embassy.   Applicant,   The review is done. Please see the attached letter for explanation and instructions.  Once the complete set of required documents is received by our unit, you case will be brought for further consideration by the embassy.   You can contact our Immigrant Visa Unit in person to retrieve the passport(s) back on any business Monday or Wednesday from 1.00 - 3.00 p.m.     Regards, Immigrant Visa Unit, US Embassy Bangkok   Privacy/PII This email is UNCLASSIFIED.   Then attached another 221g:   1. My husband was trying to calm me down and comforting me.  But I just learned that he was more depressed, angry and frustrated than me, it all came out this week.  So it was my time to calm him down. We are the same.  I am CR1 beneficiary.  I had my interview June 6, 2014 and had 221g.  I submitted the docs and they received them June 18, 2014. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2014 Interviews	Hi,  You can get PCC from police head quarters (Head office). Just visit the office and fill up the form with you previous addresses, and pay the fee. They will mail you the PCC with in 4 weeks.   Sometimes you may have to call check the status as it may held up in police stations. If you are outside of the country still you can get the PCC, just check their web site. You just have to pay extra though. When and where do we submit the Police Clearance Certificate? Philippines	USC's mother wants to use her maiden name on the paperworks for the petition	Hello VJ members, kabayans, everybody. My USC/Fil co-worker/friend will petition her mother from the Phils. Her Father and Mother are still married but no longer living together for 2 decades now. in short, Father is "sumakabilang-bahay" (english >> went to other nest) (grins). No contacts at all with the dad. For them, He's a total stranger. Her Mother wants to use her maiden name on all the papers. Can they do that? Will it affect the whole immigration process? As i look at the requirements, they won't be needing a marriage certificate and she's not intending to petition the father any time or in the near future. On behalf of my shy but sweet co worker friend, thank you for all the response. I think it's ok to use her maiden name but her paperwork should match all the documents such as Passport, NBI, Foreign Police Clearance (if applicable) and her name on Petitioner's Birth Certificate. I petitioned my Mother and her name on my birth certificate is married name but she and my father is not married at all. Philippines	IR-5: What to expect next, case almost complete	Hello, my mother's IR-5 is almost completed, I am just waiting for the case to be completed.  I am just wondering what to expect next....will they send me some instructions in the mail, like what was sent with the 129F?  Or complets that will schedule the medical?   Thanks in advance! NVC will email you when the case is complete and they will email you when the Interview appointment is set with the instructions. Based on my experience NVC emailed me two days after my case completed then emailed me the Interview date with the instructions four days after the case was completed. Your mother can have the medical when you receive the Interview Letter because she needs to show the Interview Letter in St.Lukes or she can have an early medical. Medical is a walk-in (pre-register online) first come-first served. Two day process. ~as what Hank said is correct. Before, It used to show my husband name under applicant name in IV application processing fee section but now it shows nothing.... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Electronic Processing	yea, that's pretty much what I thought too... didn't expect august interview. but I hope at least he will be able to get here by October! if he gets here in October, that's nearly a year for the whole process cause I applied on 10/19/2013!     Isn't that crazy?          ught such a drag.... I called last Friday to get updates, the operator was crazy cause she asked me to wait 60 business days to get case complete... I hung up on her. she didn't know what she was talking about.   she said they rec'd 3 emails from me on 6/25, 7/1, and 7/3 which didn't show what they were on their system. so I believe they are aos checklist response, IV package and duplicate IV package (sent twice accidentally) Then said said I have to wait 30 business dates from the date they rec'd, and another 30 days after that 30 days to get response....I wanted to slap her face!!!   I know someone who did EP without expedite, she sent in IV package 6/23, got case complete 6/30...  lucky! This is what I found on Ceac Page "Once received, it will take the NVC 2 to 4 weeks to review your case. If any additional information is required after the review, the NVC will notify the applicant (or the applicant?s agent)"  I don't know if this is true in reality.....    I have a question, once you sent out AOS package, does it show RECEIVED on CEAC website? I sent my AOS package last Wednesday(23rd), but it still shows N/A. So I was wondering I need to call to verify that they've received or will it show in the system. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Electronic Processing	I have good news and bad news...The good new is I got the IV invoice for both my wife parent on July 1   But the bad news I receive a checklist for the AOS.   I have fixed it and sent it back to them on July 3. Now waiting for DS260.                            No more checklist!!!!     We still climbing up the mountain!! Can't wait to be at the top. After that it all down hill!!! Good luck!!!     Great... I just completed ds260 last night. got my iv fee on 6/30. Does the "N/A" under "Affidavit of Support Documents & Financial Evidence" or "Civil Document" change to "in review" anytime for EP?    It's been 20ish days since I sent the AOS docs, still nothing happened. So i become a little worried.    I called the NVC, the operator couldn't give me any answer because they do not have any access to EP.    So I was told the "30 days" period from the date I submit the document and the NVC will contact me within 30 days period if the AOS is approved.    Any answers would be appreciated. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Filers - March 2014	I don't think you need police clearance if you haven't reached the age of 16 when you were in the Philippines. Though I don't think NVC will send you checklist just because of that. I mean, it is irrelevant since they don't need the address before you were 16 years old. Just my opinion. The best thing you can do is just wait and don't worry too much especially that you are not sure if you are getting a checklist. But since you already apply for PCC in the Philippines, it's ok. Atleast if they asked for it, you have something to show. Thanks to your time and effort in replying. I lived in the Philippines until I was 24 yrs old so I really need a PCC.
