ChinaVisa interviewer totally humiliated and insulted my wife. What to do?

Congradulations on your wife passing and getting her visa.  That is awesome news!! Really sorry to hear how she was treated though.  You are an American and you DO HAVE A SENATOR OR TWO in your state... Just sayin. Maybe wait until you two are in the states and her paperwork is done with green card in hand before you make that call though. Trust me, they do like to pick on State if they can.

ChinaLooking for advice
I'm in China now with my financee helping her get ready to come back with me. Wow does she have stuff! It's easy for me to do what was needed, but she's the one in the pleasure cooker. Getting her documents ready, medical check, interview, saying goodbye to family, new culture, etc. Fiancées have a heck of a lot of stuff to deal with. Any support is a huge plus for their future and the future of the marrage.

ChinaLooking for advice

Any chance you can get to Guangzhou to be with her on interview day?

You cannot go with her to the interview, but you can be outside for support. There are many on here including A&B above that were there for thier fiancee's interview.

ChinaTransferring money between the US and China

My Fiancee wants to be able to transfer some of her savings to the US on occation. So we are in the same boat - need a cheap way to do that.  Getting cash from US to China It is costing me a flat fee of $5 per transaction using a PNC Visa debit card when withdrawing cash from a Chinese ATM.  Visa is charging the fee.  Not sure how we will do this the other way around.  Maybe I should ask if money can be deposited from there to here?

ChinaMy fiancee's here! But I don't know what to do next

I see that there is no I-94 form anymore, is this correct?  Just print out the Addmission Number Retrieval (has the AR Number on it) from the dhs.gov site and present that?

Chinacareer worries for Chinese immigrants

We have a very good friend who is Chinese (she lives between Shanghai and Charlotte) and works for the NC Chamber of Commerce. Her job is to secure Chinese projects in the Carolinas and act as a liason for the NC CoC with the Chinese .gov and corporations. She just got an American boyfriend - happy for her. How's that for a career?

Passport now in hand.  Oh YES!!!  Same here - Interview Jan 29, Passport Feb 11.  Wow - our ladies must have passed each other in the waiting room!  Interviews and passport delivery is flowing nicely.  Now to deal with the green card issue once she gets here.  I hear that is all screwed up right now...

She passed her interview, wow! Said they only asker her one question and didn't even look at her stuff. Nice. :) VO said passport would be to her in one to two weeks. Web that's fast? Maybe because she is in a major city? So begins the passport reporting status. Woot!!

Well, she's flying to Guangzhou right now. Her interview will be tomorrow morning. My lawyers paralegal (she is Chinese) called her to go over everything. Seems they have a deal worked out with a local hotel there that will assist her when she arrives to go over everything. Nice! I am hoping to hear awesome news by this time tomorrow.

Since my fiancée's interview is Jan 29 (next Wednesday) and we need to start looking at buying plane tickets, what is a reasonable timeframe to expect pickup of her passport and package to CITIC? Would getting tickets for mid March be too soon? What should we expect?

Thanks - roxer

ChinaTimetable for p3 to p4, scheduling interview

Just want to point out that Chinese New Year starts this week.  I'm not sure if you have experianced it yet, but it usually lasts one or more weeks depending on who takes off.  I know it's only supposed to be about three days long, but this is when folks take thier vacations.

ChinaChina Tourist Visa

Just curious, but did you guys use a service to get your Visa in the states? If you did, what service did you use?

You are correct, Q1 it is.

Sorry, meant to post Q2.

You'll be getting a Q2. A Q1 is for moving to China indefinitely.

ChinaChina Tourist Visa

I will be getting this from my Father-in-Law. We have filled out the invite letter particulars with his needed information left for him to fill out. I will try for a multi-entry 2 year Q1. Hopefully I get that. I did find out if I have two or more years consecutive business visas I can qualify for a 2 year. I like the Q1 option better though as I don't have to rely on my company.

ChinaChina Tourist Visa

I will just put "all" of it together and hand it in. Better to have more then they need than not enough. Thanks for the replies. Just curious, but I cannot have a business and tourist visa at the same time, or can I? I still have to work there at times.

ChinaChina Tourist Visa

My wife (Chinese National) is here waiting for her green card and travel permit - should be any day now. I usually travel with a business visa, but my company has decided to put renewal on hold until my next scheduled trip. I feel nervous not having a way to travel with her in case of a family emergency, so I want to apply for a year long/multi-entry tourist visa.

Does the fact that my wife is a Chinese National help me in this case? I thought I read some time ago to submit a copy of our marriage license and pages of her passport when applying for a Chinese Visa.  Does that help at all? If I can get one for a year or longer, that would be great.

Thanks - Roxer

Might be worth getting your congress critter involved. It will entail you giving them authorization for looking into the case. Good to have them on your side if it gets ugly.

I am no expert, but I would guess that the AP inquiry will take a while and in the mean time she might need her visa to travel back to where she came from? Just a hunch.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaTravel on a Tourist Visa with I-130 Submitted

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody here has traveled to the USA on a tourist visa after they had submitted a I-130/CR-1 package. If so, what was your experience? What country are you from? Were you admitted without any problems? Anything you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Without Visa

I am going to assume he Entered Without Inspection from Mexico and is a Mexican citizen illegally present in the US.

He must wait until the pending I-130 already filed by his wife is approved. Then he can file an I-601A provisional waiver, since by that point he would be the beneficiary of an approved I-130. He will need to demonstrate that it would be a hardship to his US citizen wife for him not to be re-admitted to the US as an LPR. If the I-601A is approved then he would be scheduled for an interview at the US embassy in Mexico and would need to attend that. If all goes well he would receive his immigrant visa and would be able to re-enter the US as an LPR within a few weeks / months.

He should consult an experienced immigration attorney before filing the I-601A, although, again, the I-130 must be approved before that can be done.

Thanks bobby, you just said it all i told him already but not being sure i have to ask you guys for your good opinion, once again thank you.

ChinaFYI regarding ENROLL

The ENROLL instructions have been scrubbed from the official NVC website.  While this does not affect other countries where EP is available, China is a special case because of the changing of the case number.

At this juncture, I don't know if it is necessary to still do the ENROLL process to obtain a GZO number or if there is another way to go about it.

Look more closely

Begin National Visa Center Processing

I'm a little bit confused about EP for China now. Do I still need to send ENROLL email and wait for new GZO number, then send AOS package through email? Or Can I just send AOS package and that will automatically ENROLL me in EP. Also, is EP much faster than mail-in process?  One more question, NVC received my file on June 11th and  when should I expect to get my case number and IIN ?

Thank you in advance.

Dear all,
Just wondering, since I sent an enquiry to CSC email address (that seems to deal with I-129F one).
Do they give personal enquiry reply?
Pls let me know if any of you got this sort of reply thanks!

THIS IS THE PROCESS FOR KINGSTON.

Attention New Immigrant Visa Applicants
Effective September 1, 2013, the DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa Application & Registration will replace Form DS-230.

Applicants can access the new form at the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) Web site OR at ImmigrantVisas.state.gov.

From the main page on ImmigrantVisas.state.gov, you will click on Submit Visa Application and Civil Documents. It will bring you to a new page. Scroll down to Complete and Submit Application for Immigrant Visa then click Online Forms, DS-260.

Enter your Case Number and Invoice ID Number (the National Visa Center will have already provided you with these numbers) to access the form and complete online.

Ensure that all questions are answered correctly to prevent delays in the processing of your application. Once complete, submit the application by clicking Sign and Submit. You will not be able to access the application again. Print out the confirmation letter.

When you have completed the form, inform the Embassy via e-mail at kingstoniv@state.gov and put the following information in the subject line:

DS-260 COMPLETE: SURNAME, FIRST NAME, MIDDLE NAME, CASE NUMBER.
Example: DS-260 COMPLETE: MANLEY, MICHAEL BERNARD, KNG2000100100.

Bring your confirmation sheet to the interview, but do not bring your application form.

For further assistance access www.travel.state.gov: Online Immigrant Visa Forms: DS-260 FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) or http://www.travel.st.../info_5164.html

Please note: The DS-260 is not required for cases that are already in process at the National Visa Center (NVC), including cases where application documents were submitted, but an interview has not been scheduled.

We will not require the submission of a DS-260 if a valid, signed, unexpired DS-230 is already on file.

For petitioners, who filed an I-130 at USCIS Santo Domingo prior to September 1, and the beneficiary has already submitted a DS-230 or received instructions to do so, we will still accept the DS-230. In all other cases, we will require the new DS-260.
note the correct email address to send the DS-260 notification to. Not the one suggested
