yea i know i can make it taste like mezzo mix mixing coke and fanta, but somehow the schwip schwap tastes better, and different

I can do currywurst ( a very frankfurt-ian thing lol) but I can't do curryketchup.. ugh, I hate it.. I like reg ketchup and curry powder, separate.. lol..

oh, for the Quark btw, go to a mexican store, or the mexican section of a walmart in the cheese section (theres one), and look for REQUESON... thats the mexican quark

Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I live in Frankfurt and my bf in Charlotte and we travel back and forth. Luckily we are able to see each other quite often - he comes over three times a year and I go over there three times. That all adds up to around 10-12 weeks a year. biggrin.gif We are going to continue the LDR thing for a few more years. It's hard, but we an do it.

I got NOA2 on Aug 23d kicking.gif
My question is how long does it usually take for NVC to get a case and assign the number and the second one is that account I've created on uscis web site for for case status apdates will I recieve e-mail notifications or not any more?
Thanks

It might take 3-4 weeks for NVC to get it..And, no, you won't receive email updates anymore. You'll have to call the NVC automated response number...603-334-0700 and follow the prompts..They hvae new updates every Tuesday..If you do like I did, you'll call everyday...and you'll memorize that number..like I did. Good Luck

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Thats just typical! Advice / Thoughts - re: CR1 / K3
QUOTE (NikkisPrecious @ Aug 30 2007, 06:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ok guys, what a time for this to happen, as you can see by the timeline in my sig were pretty much at the end of the NVC CR1 processing stage..

The I129F was approved yesterday... and its quite horrible in a way, because we are now faced with a choice from the devil, its either stick with the CR1 and ignore the I129f OR

Take the ever so tempting K3 route.. arrrrgh why did they have to do this to us at this stage!!!

What would you guys do.. would it be silly to take the 129f now?

Just want some sane thoughts and advice really. Especially on the timeframe side of things, i'm don't have loads of money but i'm not too concerned on costs, coz they'll bloody get ya one way or the other in my opinion.

smile.gif Thanks guys

I am in the same boat..here's what I've read from other VJ'ers
Don't worry about the I-129F...Just let it ride..If it gets to the embassy first, and send you a packet...take your time and don't respond..They won't process it until they hear back from you..Wait until the I-130 gets there, then proceed with the CR-1..Tell the consulate that you want a CR-1 interview. You really don't have to cancel the I-129F..The CR-1 is a better visa.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresConcerned already!!!
New Member here...I sent my I-130 to the Texas Center 4/3/2007..I haven't heard anything yet..I know it's only been 2 weeks, but I've seen a lot of people's timelines and it seems everyone else has gotten a response really quick..Should I have already heard something? I am a US citizen and my wife is from the Philippines. Do they email you before they send a notification by regular mail?..I sent it by regular mail, so I have no idea if they received it. I sent a bank money order and it hasn't been processed yet. Am I getting uneasy too quick? I can't check status online until I get notified..Any uplifting reassuring words from anyone?...

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPossible change of plans
If my wife in the Philippines already has a tourist visa, would there be any problems if she came back to the US to be with me? I am an American citizen and we were married here in the US. She is a government employee and needed to go back to formally give her resignation. I have already filed the I-130(rec'd NOA), and filed the I-129F, but haven't rec'd a NOA yet. Could we abandon or withdraw the petitions without problems? And if so, we could then file for change of status once she was here. Is that possible?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp from the VJ advisors
My question is this....
If I didn't want to wait another 6 months for our K-3 approval..Is it possible to get my wife here in the US and we file for change of status? She already has a tourist visa and can travel. We got married here in the US and we decided she would need to go back to the Philippines to render her resignation. I won't divulge the type of job she has, so let's say she works for the Philippine government in a certain capacity.(nothing related to immigration)....more in the legal field. Would this be possible or am I missing something that might present a problem later?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSomething to make you feel better
Everyone is in a hurry to get thru this process I know..And it does seem like it's taking a long time.
When I found this site, I printed out some things for my record..One of which was the K Visa Timeline Statistics and the Filing to K-3 Interview History.

I noticed today that the Timeline Statistics for K-3 "Filing to Interview History" was at ""190 days""...Now I know that is a long time , but if you go back to when I joined. April 19, 2007, it was ""228 Days""...That's ""38"" days less....Does this mean we're slowly picking up speed?...I hope so !!!!!

I hope this makes someone feel better

Ok..Yes, I am excited now..Today my I-130 was approved.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresfrustrating...........

The responder misread your timeline. The I-129F will continue at its own speed. That they were not both approved is definitely unusual considering how close together they were filed. There have been some problems with notices lately. If I were you, I'd call NVC with both case numbers and see what they actually have on hand. Wait a week or so. It could be that both petitions are approved and you just don't know it yet. If so, the original response is correct.

No, I don't think lvivlovers misread. Since some time in 2006 USCIS decided that it was a waste of time to process both the I-130 and the K3 because the K3 always gets finished first.
So, if you file both, they now normally hold the I-130 to use for AOS after the spouse arrives on the K3.

Given that you have received notice that they forwarded your petition to VSC, it is strange.
It seems almost as if they have not actually processed your K3, so the CSC went ahead and processed your I-130.

No matter, I-130 is better anyway, so if it is going faster than your K3, just focus on the I-130.

Yes, that is normal but it is not what is indicated in the misread timeline.

"Thanks pushbrk !!!!"....still a little unclear..Anyways, I think I'm still in a holding pattern..I also think Credzba misread my post too...It was NOT transferred to VSC, but was Transferred to NVC in Portsmouth, New Hampshire..Now, I got a hardcopy in the mail stating "Approval of I-130...and has been transferred to NVC"..I have read here that it could take 2 to 3 weeks to get there and something about NVC updates every Tuesday...I have called the NVC automated response number, punched in my "WAC" number and it says there is no record of this file. So maybe it hasn't got there yet..PUSHBRK, do you think I'd get an answer about my I-129F if I called CSC?.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but normally when both forms are approved at the same time, they stop processing the I-130 and just hold it. Only the I-129F continues on because they assume you will be applying only for the K3 visa. It is ridiculously difficult to get the I-130 active again and transferred to the NVC. At this point, your best option is just to pursue the K3 visa. You can read the guides and other posts for more info but that's the basic idea.

I don't understand your statement!!!...You say "when both forms are approved at the same time"...Both of mine WERE NOT approved at the same time...and then you say "it is rediculously difficult to get the I-130 active again and transferred to the NVC"...I've already been notified that is being transferred to NVC in NH...are you saying that mine is inactive?
