Russia, Ukraine and BelarusMIL got her green card

Been a while since I've checked in on the good ole RUB forums, but thought I'd stop by and share another VJ milestone. My MIL arrived a couple weeks ago along with her dog. She's acclimated very well so far...she's got a gym membership, has started some ESL classes, and is already drinking diet cokes (with ICE no less!!!) and eating all sorts of American food. Our baby is already quite attached to her and my wife is ecstatic to have her around again! Life is good! Hope everyone here on the RUB forum is also doing well...I'm sure there's a lot of new faces here by now, but hopefully some of the old-timers are still here also.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusUkraine US Consulate new medical testing procedures????

ok, there is how it goes...

The medical examination consists of the following components: Tuberculin Skin Test for all children ages 2-14,chest X-Ray for adults ages 14 and older, blood test for syphilis for adults only, general physical examination, and vaccinations.

Applicants who have a chest X-Ray suggestive of tuberculosis, signs and symptoms of tuberculosis

should provide three sputum specimens to undergo microscopy for AFB, as well as culture for Mycobacteria Tuberculosis

Laboratory examination for tuberculosis disease will consist of at least three sputum specimens, which will
undergo microscopy for AFB as well as culture for Mycobacteria Tuberculosis. Specimens reported as negative
will be cultured for a minimum of 6 weeks, with a final report available within 8 weeks of collection. Positive Mycobacteria Tuberculosis cultures will undergo Drug Susceptibility Testing (DST) for first-line TB medications.
DST results will be available within 10 weeks of sputum collection.
Positive cultures that are resistant to first-line TB drugs will undergo drug susceptibility testing on second-line tuberculosis medications.

So really she has nothing to worry about, unless she has tuberculosis...

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusTourist visa (from Ukraine) with financial sponsorship? or paid ticket?

Ok, from personal experience... No letter or "ties to the country" will do anything. We tried. Only trip to the European country or too with a stamp in her passport. We got this idea from this site as well. As soon as my MIL got back after that trip she got multi entry visa for 5 years. And yes we paid for it and she found bus tour that she wanted to see

if you did not receive noa1 or noa2 just do not reply to them and it will die on its own. or you can wright a letter and withdraw the package and that will kill it. if it is at the embassy just do not tell the person it is there and do not go forward with interview scheduled and other info. it dies on its own still.

kiev seems to be turning k1 interviews quickly. most are saying 2 weeks and they can get interview, after kiev gets package. make sure she has medical, police reports and shot records ready to go and translated.

they will also need proof if income from you. i would suggest to go to interview. it dose not hurt and that way you both can go home at same time.

only suggestion...i am going to be doing that with my lady gets interview. just to make sure all goes good and nobody is rude to her!!

QUOTE (MexiGringa @ Dec 10 2009, 10:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello,
I am brand new to this site and don't even know if I am posting correctly!!
Anyhoo, I am the Petitioner on my Mexican husbands behalf. I filed the I-130 in June 2009 and we received his Interview appt on November 27, 2009. We have one way tickets to El Paso leaving the 18th. His Interview is the 23rd. I have been told MANY different things and am soooo CONFUSED. I was told by some that as his Wife and Petetioner that I was required to go and now others have said that I do not. He has been here illegally since 1998 and we have been together since 2006. We have one child together and another on the way. My Husband doesn't feel comfortable traveling alone thru checkpoints and has no idea which papers are which in all our mounds of paperwork. I figured sending him alone would be like sending him to swim with sharks!! Can anyone give me any insight or help?? We are expecting him to have to stay behing in Mexico for up to a year or possibly more since he entered illegally, but does anyone really know from their personal experience? We have been told so many different things and have done everything on our own without a Lawyers help. Like what happens at the Interview? After the Interview? What is the waiver for? Does he need to make an appt for one, or do they tell him that in Juarez? I am just so worried and feel like we are entering the unknown...ANY help would be greatly appreciated..
Thank you unsure.gif

I came to this website and posted this HOPING to connect with other people in SIMILAR situations such as mine. I did NOT expect people to pass judgement and post their opinions about Illegal Mexicans not having a right to be here because they broke the law. I asked for other peoples knowledge, answers from experiences and nothing else. Forgive me for having an attitude towards people who throw stones from glass houses and think their situation is high and mighty because they are doing something in a way that they THINK is the right or legal way. Not one of you knows how or why my Husband came to be in this Country, YOU all assumed that because he was ILLEGAL, that he came here that way. Judging us without knowing all the facts..but it's funny that everyone posting is from Countries where Immigration is COMPLETLY DIFFERENT. I agree laws should not be broken, and if they are there should obviously be consequences. However, I do believe that people should be given second chances and the right to make amends. And people forget that it's our own Immigrations laws and Government that let illegal passage happen every day. And if it were so easy for Mexicans or any others to obtain Visa's so easily and lawfully, don't you think more would have them and not cross illegally? I never came here for a "p1ssing match", but feel I have every right to defend myself and others I know. I came here seeking advice, not assumptions or judgments, but obviously I came to the wrong place. Thank you for those of you who did not judge and offered your opinions and thoughts. I wish you all the best of luck in your situations. And if there are people out there, like other Mexicans that have been thru a similar process, I would love to hear your stories. I was never looking for sympathy, so for one to assume that is ridiculous. Maybe my origional post should be re-read. I asked about the Juarez Interview and Waiver Interview process and if you aren't familiar with those, then I don't see why you are here posting comments. That would be why I'm not in another forum commenting on something I know nothing about.....

you keep useing passing judgement. we are stating laws and experience on why it is so hard to bring somebody here leagly. first of all i have a former employee that was working leagl but he did not keep up with his papers and his wife ran off. he is now in hondurous serving a 10 year ban! for not doing what he had to do. even though he was working leagel and here legal his visa expired. he even got hirt on a consturction job and is on medicade with dissability! so i know first hand what your going to face and what the penility is but i am passing judgement!! i still suggest be prepaird to move next to him for 10 years or look at a country you both can move to and live and work for 10 years.

things are hard now with so many americans upset with this situation, the bands are being inforced. be prepaird and drop the high and middy attidude!!!

my sweety cannot get a simple b2 visa out of ukraine due to people saying longer than travel time!!! we are all facing facts of people braking the law form past.

so if you do not like first hand info and suggestions. i would suggest not to post anymore. sorry but this is facts and real life cases that we all know about. but still i hope you to have good luck and make all right. just have plan b, c, d and even e if you do not get waver or lifetime ban. be prepaird! and you might want to get lawyer involved in this one. yes money but you have a mess on your hands and might be more than self-filing status. Not many suggest lawyers unless messy and love this is very messy.

he has to be at interview. if he is here eligial he will not get visa. he has to have police report for the past 12 years he has lived. this is why we all have problems due to this situation you just told.

if you read other threads you will see all that will have to be done by the way? how did u get so far in the process with him not being legal here? and you did not read about police report?

jsut curious. sounds like your trying to get around laws more and find way to make all better.

my suggestion you both move back to mexico live there and prove you are legal before moving forward.

USCIS Service CentersOK It s time for action!!

Well according to your timeline, you got your NOA2 a little over a month after sending in your petition. If that's the case, you really have nothing to complain about. A better use of time is to rally in the streets against Congress to stop the sequester budget cuts. That is going to take $85 billion dollars out of federal agency budgets. You know who the federal agencies are, right? Hint: USCIS and the STATE Department (Embassies). You think processing times are slow now? It's about to get a whole lot worse.

Then write them about that call their offices voice your opinions they are not taking the whole of the country seriously they think they have al the power lets show them who has the power WE DO!!!!

Contact your representatives today!! National Visa Center (Dept of State)I'm so mad at NVC,please help!!

So I got the approval letter(NAO2) from USCIS dated Dec 14 on Dec 16 informing that case has been forwarded to NVC. I have been calling them everyday in January who told me it takes 15 business days, apparently they haven't had 15 business days as of Jan 15(I know right....where can I sign up for this job!)

Finally, yesterday(Jan 16) they "received" the case but will take 15-20 business days for a case number. I LOST my mind, is this considered normal?? Are these people living in 2013,the age of iphones and 4g LTE, 50GB data speed! I feel like they have a typewriter upstairs with a 75 yr old typing these cases into the system.

I'm appalled by their service, are they held accountable for their jobs? The phone operator Jazmine goes "these time-frames are what it is and can't be changed,SIR", that put me over the edge, asked for supervisor contact and gave me nvcresearch email id and to put attn: Ben on subject line. I feel this is all waste of time with "Ben" being a fictional character that goes straight to trash. I told Jazmine,USCIS taking time to do background check is understandable but getting a damn case number from NVC in 2 months is ridiculous.

Waiting for your loved one is excruciating itself, dragging the process as simple as a case number should NOT take 2 months. Now onto my questions,I hope someone could shed some light into this
1. Is there anything that I can do at this point, should I proceed with an email to "Ben"?
2. Do they organize these cases based on visa category? If so,shouldn't my case be top 3 category?
3. If you want to complain about NVC, who can you contact, I want to do my part to make this process faster in future
4. Is NVC subcontracted by private firm?

Your help is appreciated,I feel better now!

Don't waste your time all they will tell you is to "WAIT" I called 2 tier support and was on hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes to be told to wait 45 times in a 10 minute conversation and do not believe anything uscis tells you on first tier the times have doubled if the say 10 days it will be 20 if they say 5 months it will be 10. And there is nothing we can do about it they are to worried about processing all these illegal amnesty bs that they have forgotten the people doing this legally. So just find something else to do with you time because the Uscis could care less if you got your visa or not.

ChinaMy fiancee's here! But I don't know what to do next

Yeah, her card says that.  Does she need to get a new card once she has a different status, or just keep this one and present it along with other documents?

I think for now you just use her current SSN with supporting documents, and then after she's adjusted her status/has her green card she can go back to the SSN office and update her card since she would be a permanent resident. I'm not 100% sure though, someone else might be able to confirm that.

ethompsMaleCanada2014-03-22 11:07:00
ChinaMy fiancee's here! But I don't know what to do next

Yeah, you don't need to get married before applying for your SSN. Actually, in some states it's required that you have your SSN to apply for a marriage license!

I got my SSN first, since some offices are ill-informed and will try to tell you that you are no longer under "K1 status" once you get married, and that you have to wait to adjust status to apply for a SSN. Apparently it's been a real nightmare for some.

But yeah, they issued me one and they printed text on the card saying "Valid for work only with DHS authorization", meaning we need to apply to adjust our status and either wait for our green card or a EAD till we can use the SSN for work.

I just followed this guide closely and it worked out for me! http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

Good luck!

IMBRA Special TopicsI-129F Question 19

We met on a web site where the men pay a fee and the women join for free. We exchanged a few messages on the site. Then we communicated mostly through skype, emails, texts, and phone. We met once already, and we will meet again soon. Then I will send in everything. All I know about the site is the web address. They did make me fill out a form about any previous marriages, crimes, etc. I have no criminal record or previous marriages. So I put no to everything. I have had many background checks for many things, so I am not worried about that.

I was just wondering why they care about the broker when they can just do a background check and inform her about it regardless of how we met. Anyway, I am glad it will not affect anything. Thank you everyone for all the information.

that is not marrage broker. almost like yahoo date or when personal adds in paper was popular. if company helps arrange visa it would be marrage broker if i am not mistaken??

i would say you meet online give name of site and then prove and show your support that site was just for finding a person and nothing more, like a date site.

USCIS Service Centersusps and uscis both have no clue

Okay you need to calm down a bit.

First of all the process is slow. Youre not the only person applying for a visa. There are thousands of people in the immigration system.

As for where your petition went, lets see if we can figure this out.

There are two addresses you could have mailed it to- (im abridging them slightly)

regular
Pobox 660151
Dallas TX

express mail
or 2501 hwy 121
lewisville TX

So according to your post it seems like you sent it to dallas. What does USPS tell you? That it was delivered? It is possible to deliver express mail on sundays. ( http://pe.usps.com/b...ses/express.htm) If you paid an extra fee and check off no signature required, usps would leave your package at the pobox in dallas, on a sunday with no signature, so your package is there.

Also according to the guide - http://www.visajourn.../content/k1flow for your NOA1 Typical wait time is 2-3 weeks after the Service Center receives the I-129.

Ok i will explain it as i tried to explain it to the very kind 2nd teir agent who told me i was wasti.g his time talked to how can it be processed if it never got to the right location it went to po 660046 not 660151 660054 is to process i182d files not i 129f so now what i have tried everytning short of fiying to dallas myself and finding it

USCIS Service Centersusps and uscis both have no clue
The more I look on the USCIS site and on here the more discouraged I get. 250 days 300 days and so on to get approval it boggles the mind that it takes so long in this modern day...I could understand it if they actually have to do leg work to find out the background checks and things of that sort but all they do is sit behind their little desks in the little cubicals and type in names and addresses the computer does the rest so why so long I ask it is because our wonderful government puts limitations on how many they can process. The only thing that is keeping me from going insane is the love of my lady and the want of getting her here but it is hard I promised her she would be here for her birthday and the way it looks that is not going to happen.
