IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWife I-130 approved but for Child Recvd NOA.

Hello All,

I am kind of confused on what to do. My Wife's I-130 was approved, a case number was assigned and I just sent the DS-3032 and the I-864 bill payment, But My Step-Childs I-130 was not approved, I am in the middle of obtaining the addt'l documentation that is being requested. My question is should I just go ahead as planned with my wife petition? Or should I hold on until my step-daughter's I-130 is approved? I don't know whether my step-daughter's case will link up with my wife's case... I'm not sure how the process work but I know at the end there should be only one interview.. Any info is greatley appreciated.

Hi

I was just wandering what the RFE was that you received. My I-130 and I-129F were both approved the same date but my daughters I-130 is requesting more evidence (still in mail so dont know what they are requesting)

Does the Childs I-130 also need to be approved to enter the states with the mother?
I know on the I-129F the child gets an automatic entrance with the mother on the K3/K4....

Any assistance will help!

Thanks
Sam

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhile waiting for NOA2.....

Me and my fiance are K-1 visa February filers.....patiently awaiting our NOA2. Im getting a little anxious because (hopefully) our approval will be coming soon, and I dont know what to do!! Whilte we are waiting, isnt there something we could be doing in the meantime so that we are prepared when our NOA2 arrives?

My fiance lives in South Africa, and Ive tried researching the Johannesburg embassy for helpful information, but nothing. Im wondering if he should go ahead and apply for his police clearance (since it takes a while)? And get his medical exam?

Im very nervous about the next step after the NOA2, and want everything to go as smooth as possible. Does anyone have any advice on what we could doing NOW to prepare ourselves?

Thanks for any advice! :help:

How far are you guys now with your papers???

I am also in SA waiting patiently to get to my man in the US...

I have already gone ahead and applied for my police clearance and am fetching it tomorrow. I applied on the 14 May and it is ready now.
Some of my friends waited 2-3 months to get theirs.

HE also needs tp apply for an unabridged birth certificate if he has not done so as yet. He can apply for that at the closest home affairs and it costs R50. That is the birth certificate that has his parents details on it too. I got that heads up from a friend leaving next month for the states. Her two barriers to get to her interview were the police clearance and the unabridged birth certificate. Otherwise I think everything else can only be done once we get approved and get the next instructions from them....

Hope this helped a bit. Feel free to mail me anytime...

HaHaHa I wrote this all before I checked what date you posted this....

USCIS Service CentersI-129F for K3 transfered to Vermont
I would just like to know if there is anyone out there that can shed some light on how much longer now???
My I-129F (K3) was transfered to Vermont yesterday.
Anyone had theirs transfered there???

It is just frustrating not to know when to resign at your job to prepare for the move.. Here we need to give 30 days notice to leave the company...

This site is huge and if I had to sit searching for others with the same situation I would be here all day......

USCIS Service CentersUSCIS Website updated Processing Times page as at 15 June

Does anyone know why USCIS didn't include I-129F on Processing Times upated page as at 15 June 2007? I checked CSC status and didn't find I-129F... Why  They are not working with I-129F now?

USCIS Service CentersHow do the processing times work?

So i see on the CSC page that they are working on Dec. 2006 apps for the 129-f. I see in the posts that people from march are getting NOA2's now. What am i missing?

I was also very confused about that in the beginning and found out that the date they have on system as the processing date is the last date backdated that they are working on, may it be that they are waiting for information like RFE's for those petitions....

So they are currently working on Dec 06 to date....

Hope this helps.

Africa: Sub-Saharanmedical exam in south africa

The medical in total cost about R600-00 in cash, for the vaccinations, medical and stuff. Discovery health didn't cover cover all of it, that was the portion that i had to pay. +-

Ha Ha that is funny - I work for Discovery Health.

Your post has really helped me too thank you very much. Now I also know what to expect.

Where in SA were you from?

Was that only the amount you had to pay in? You dont know how much it was in total? The x-rays I know can be pricey...

Ok, once you recieve your first NOA1 reciept, it comes with a reciept no. printed in the top left hand corner, if you goto www.uscis.gov and register your case online, you can see when it has been last updated AKA a "touch"

Hope this makes sense! ;)

I am trying to register on the USCIS website and it always gives me an error on the last part where you give a question where you need to answer if you forget your password.
Any help on that???

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 Fees (old and new)

Based on the last para...

Adjustment applications and ancillary benefits – The new application fee for an I-485 is a package fee that includes associated EAD and advance parole applications. Thus, if you file an I-485 with the fee listed above, while you will still need to submit applications for an EAD and advance parole, you will not need to pay a separate fee so long as your adjustment application is pending. However, if you filed your I-485 before this fee change, to apply for or renew your EAD or advance parole, you must file a new application with the new fee for those applications.

What do they mean when they say as long as your adjustment application is pending?
I am confused :help:

If you file for your I-485 it is then pending you will pay the $1010. You can then file for the EAD and Advance Parole with no extra fee as long as the I-485 is in progress.

If you have already filed your I-485 before 30 July and will only be filing for the EAD or / and Advance Parole after 30 July then the new fees apply to you which is like over $300 each...

Hope this helps...

Ahh.. that makes sense. Thanks John/Sam Miles!

Another quick (probably stupid) question - Why would I need to make an application for Advance Parole?

It is an Application for Travel Document / Advance Parole - Not 100% sure but think this lets you in and out of the country...

did i get the new fees right? anything i am missing?

I have read and you will see at the bottom of the USCIS fee Schedule in writing that the new app fee for an I-485 is a package fee that includes the associated EAD and Advance Parole applications.
They state that if you file an I-485 with the fee listed ($1010), while you will still need to submit apps for an EAD and Advanced parole , you will not need to pay a separate fee so long as your adjustment application is pending. However if you filed your I-485 prior to the fee change, to apply for or renew your EAD or Advance Parole, you must file a new app with the new fee for those applications.

I hope I have read this right!!! But it looks ok.... This is like 3 petitions in 1.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNO TOUCHES

well, i am a military man, married to a lovely lady from England, and I can tell y'all...we feel it too! it is hard, but for some of us, we feel as though it is our responsibility to be the strong ones and try to comfort our spouses when they start to lose hope. this does not mean that when the phone call is over, we do not shed our tears or get upset, however.

my wife and I filed in january, and we have seen no real improvement in our case. we have made phone calls, written letters, sent more pictures, and even called a congressman. nothing seemed to help. this has not only taken its toll on us, but on my stepchildren as well. USCIS seems to be this secret society that runs on some code of ethics not made public to any of us. we have both lost hope at times, but try to keep in mind that something has got to give eventually. what else can one do, right?

the most that i can say is...try not to completely lose hope. y'all are not alone in the waiting game, and at some point, one way or another, we will all be able to start our new lives with our loved ones. :help:

Wow your process is taking long! ####### is going on???

Thank you for giving it to us from the eyes of a man... I know every one hurts but us woman seem to show it much more than our men, although we know they are just trying to be strong.
I can say one thing and comming from a country where there is permanent worry and uncertanty with relationships I am really proud to have met and married a US Man. American men are soo different to South African men. They actually have respect for woman. I am not speaking badly about all South African men but I have seen and experienced 90% of what goes on here with relationships...
With my hubby now there is no doubt in my mind of his love for me and that shows in every which way - so if he shows sorrow or not I know deep down inside he is hurting too....

Good luck and you are all in my prayers!!!!!

Oh my god Sam! i am married to a military man too! and we both are experiencing the same things. He doesn't like to know that i am sad, that im crying, or that i am stressed with the situation. I am very proud that my husband is very understanding despite the fact that he is also very lonely. He remains calm and patient.

I do hope we get some touches soon!!! Help us lord!!!

I wouldn't trade my man for anything or anyone in the world - he jsut has a different outlook on life and this situation.
I have my daughter with me, who is going over with me. My hubby doesn't have anyone... I can just imagine how strong they are!!!

Where is your hubby based?
Mine is base in Norfolk Virgina... I have only been to the US once and that is when we were married in Tennessee...

This is all soo exciting and also so very sad, and frustrating....

It is amaizing what 2 people from different sides of the world would do to be together! The lord works in misterious ways and I beleive that everything happens for a reason and our time will come!!! Hopefully real soon!!!

I am planning on resining from my job next month as my pension pays out 6 weeks after my last day here and I need that for the flights to the US it is real expensive from here....

I am on my way out - But it is wonderful to have met someone I can relate to!

Have an awsome evening and Pray Pray Pray!!!!!

is this normal? i see some who filed after us were approved. Most of the march filers were approved few days ago and we never got any touches. Is this freakin' normal? i am starting to freak out...

*he doesn't know that i cry in my sleep. I miss my husband so bad...

When I read your last line I felt a huge lump in my throat.
I now only realise that I am not the only one going through this. 90% of the people on this site are too...

I miss my husband more than I have ever missed anything. Yesturday was our 4 month anniversary and I havent seen him since the 5th Feb ....
We can only imagine what the men go through being alone and missing us. They are just much better at hiding it.

I am married to a military man and he doesn't like to hear when I am sad or upset or crying... He says why get all upset over something so small. There are people out there that have lost their loved ones permanently and we are still looking forward to being together! I wish I had that way of thought but it is real hard....

I am still fresh in this and am also waiting for my NOA 2 from VSC....

I will pray for you and you can include me in your prayers too....

the written form I-865 is your best bet. Calling the mis-information line to do it may not get it done, and they'll probably tell you to send the form anyhow.

Thanks I appreciate the info!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAddress Change

I just want to know if it is neccessary that the petioner and beneficiary update their address details?

We have a pending I-130 and I-129F and we have both change address since filing the forms. Do we both need to update our addresses with the USCIS?

Sam

if your case is pending , Yes you do need to inform them of the address change , how else are will they be able to inform you of any aplication processes they perform , you can call the 1 - 800 number and let them know

Many thanks!!!!
