Congrats to Everyone who have their NOA2's I know it's been a journey of worrying and waiting but, many will move on to the next stage with ease and some will be in AP as I've seen a question about it posted here. That number ( I know it by heart) is to the NVC in New Hampshire, if your in AP that could mean your approved petition will stay in AP for a couple of weeks before it's released to the consulate, that's what has happened to mines, been there since Jan 17th, some of you will only stay in NVC a couple of days and move on, I suggest calling after 2 weeks of NOA2 notice and pray your not In AP... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2013 TSC Filers	I found this while looking for NVC information:   The NVC has a process of randomly pulling a certain, unknown number of "K" visa petitions for further administrative processing. It is unknown what exactly takes place during this process. As it is in AP post interview. It may be background/name checks and/or document verification. Some CSR's at NVC have said that they are "verifying documents". But the most common answer will be that "There is no timeframe for the process". There actually is a very predictable timeframe based on VJers experience that has been shared since December 2008. The average time that a case is held during this AP is around 50 days, give or take a day or so. You can call at least once a week to ask if your file has been released out of AP and forwarded to the consulate. Most petitioners that are pulled for random AP DO receive a standard letter from NVC stating that their file will be forwarded to the embassy "within a week", this is a standard letter which is mailed out whether one is in AP or not. If you find that your case has been held at NVC for longer than a week or so; it is advisable to call and ask directly if your file is in AP.   Source here. This would probably explain why you're stuck at NVC, and give you a time frame for when you should get unstuck. Hope it helps. Knowing I'm a step closer now makes me very anxious. Based on the USCIS site they haven't sent my petition to NVC yet, i just got the noa2 a day ago. lol Got my notice Jan 9 NVC received it Jan 17, but again with this process anything goes, because my petition is still at NVC 3 weeks later and others have got shipped to thier perspective Consulates within 2-3 days.. But USCIS doesn't know you from Adam, and to them, you could well be. I agree it makes little sense for the petition to sit at NVC for so long, but it is what it is. Frustrating for everyone.     Nothing new for us either, but VJ has been updating my timeline so people do seem to be getting approved... Not knowing me from Adam? To many illegals here to use that excuse!!! we are talking about the United states government here, they could and do spy on anyone they deem a terrorist. And can find you in a fox hole it doesn't take forever to do background checks, and if that's the case then everyone would go through it. not random bull like this.. inept! Its been there since January 17th, I mean what are you checking? We are not terrorist, we are in love and hurting because of being apart, I have so offten considered leaving the US and moving to Africa because I hate being scrutinized. At this stage he needs to get his civil documents when they ask him to like immunization record if available for the mdeical, police records and so on and you will need to provide him with the affidavit of support and supporting documentation to show proof of financial support e.g. W2, tax returns, pay stubs, job letter and so on. Read the guides, some items may be consulate specific so you will have to find out what your embassy is looking for. FinalEmpress, looking at your time line, seems to me I'm taking steps you haven't, I got case number from State Department, and was told its at NVC, thought they was same thing,, WRONG!, Called NVC, NVC hasn't sent it to the Embassy yet, and the lady told me it's in Administration Process, she couldn't elaborate on how long that would take, just said call early next week. She did say they got it on January 17, so here we are almost a week later and it's still there??? Looks like yours didn't go through all that,,, these people have me so confused I swear. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2013 TSC Filers	Well I called the State Department about our case number which I got and was told it was sent to the NVC which I thought was the same as the state department, guess I was wrong.I called the NVC and they received it on my Honey's birthday, it's going through administration process and I should call early next week to see if it will be sent to South African embassy. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2013 TSC Filers	The fee of $240 per visa comes when the embassy notifies you that they have received the case from NVC (package 3).  Every US Embassy works different.  In the case of the US Embassy in Bogota, Colombia, I would have to pay upfront using my credit card on a website that they have.  At that point, they'll release the consular calendar on the website to show what days are available for the interview. I'm 10 years older than he!, I was sure him being African ( with all the scrutiny placed on the continent as a whole) and all stated above USCIS was going to delay delay delay investigate me until the cows came home, but, if they are just going by that simple form and you meet the requirements on the application, NOBODY should be waiting more than 4 weeks TOPS!!!
