Saw my GP today, getting a blood test for MMR & Hep B also checking for diabetes & my cholesterol (family history) while I'm there. We've also done a general query on immunity so that should show up that I've had all my immunisations smile.gif

Nice way to find a work around!

Do they charge in NSW? I received a bill for $177 from Qld Pathology. Would have been nice for my GP to let me know this before hand!

I don't think they do, I'll find out soon enough, can't remember getting a bill on my last blood test.

Good luck to all you girls with all this name change stuff, I guess that's a benefit of me moving, she'll stay there and do all her name change stuff over there.

I like being a male.

sad.gif My doctor is away and I need to visit him first, need to call off the appointment again! Good thing I don't leave till Feb 16!

Can I be rude and ask why you need to see your doctor first? Is it for immunisation history? If so surely your doctor has a substitute working while he's away?

Is it something that can wait until AFTER the main doctor?

Either way stay strong. It will all be okay. You'll be there just after valentines day biggrin.gif

He just moved to a different surgery so I don't know any of the locums, plus he knows my history better. I'm also concerned about my tinnitus playing up so think I may mention that when I'm there (he's the only GP who knows about it).

I'm not a Valentines Day guy, that's why we want to get married just after, means we can not celebrate it but not appear like weirdos tongue.gif She'll actually be out here from Australia Day til the 16th.

How was Dr Waks? I'm always a bit nervous seeing a doctor I've never seen before.

If I've already had Chicken Pox & MMR shots do I need to get that blood test. I know I've had the MMR shot, and I know I had chicken pox when I was a kid. Hope my Doctor has my immunisation record, he's just moved and when my Dad asked him he said it might be there, but might not, I HATE shots! (Nor can I afford to get a million of them!)

Thanks for the knowledge NYSyd - was happy to get an appointment next week.

Dr Waks is actually really nice.. Its all routine stuff so dont be nervous..

The only shot I needed was a tetnus / whooping cough shot which is required in the US every 10 years.. It cost around $40.00

Just letting you know that you will need to leave his office and walk up the street to go to do your chest xray and blood work.. Are you familiar with Sydney?

The whole process takes around 2 hours or so.. good luck

I don't know Sydney very well. I think I'm going to push this back, as I have exams atm and don't need the visa till Feb.

Alex: who did you contact at your local council? I dunno about child brides (given I'm the groom especially!) many of my friends got married in their early 20s, but I'm a Christian so perhaps a bit of an incentive to marry younger.

I had a tetnus shot in 99 so figured they'd make me get one.

I am 22, I went through NSW health, they only returned one match. I know I had at least 4 shots in school, I think they're only allowed to search so many dates.

They said I needed the MMR & Chickenpox bloodwork. I do have a chickenpox scar tongue.gif

$342 for a doctors appointment?

Wow this whole exercies is costing mote than the wedding and flights combined!

That's with Dr Waks, would it have been better to go with Dr Millar?

Hi guys,

My fiancee just got my NOA2.

I'm going to try and start work on my end so all those forms & stuff, really need to get a new copy of my Birth Certificate.

That Police Certificate link on P.1 doesn't work, have we got a working one?

I'm nervous about it a bit. But much less nervous now that NOA2 has come through smile.gif

Thanks for all the detail Vanessa it has really helped.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNeed help!
Problem is we don't really have that time, she can't be without work for 6 months and being seperated from eachother for 6 months is a little too reminicent of Berlin for my liking.

Looks like I'm going to have to go the K-1 route, that's no good I really wanted to have the wedding as a goodbye to friends & family here.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNeed help!
I am an Australian Citizen, currently engaged to a US citizen and this whole visa process is confusing the heck out of me.
We're looking to get married in Australia, before going on our honeymoon and then moving to the USA (which would involve my immigration) and I'm not sure if I fit any of the options for any of the visas. Can anyone help?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Questions
OK my fiancee is filling in I-134 - a few things are confusing. When it looks at "income for the year" does it mean, the year past, or a prediction for the current year?

Also is this gross or net income?

And should she include bonuses? If so, ones recieved or an estimate for the future?

Would her last 3 paystubs be enough or should she wait till she gets her next three?

OK so it looks like I need to get a K-1 visa to marry my fiance.

I know you're all going to say "check the FAQs" "check the flowchart" etc. I have, I don't get it. Please help me I don't know what to do. Maybe I'm just stupid but I have no idea what I'm doing, I can't even figure out the fee for filing I-129F!

Please help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAfter sending my fiance my g-325a
Hi all,

Just wondering what I should do, I've filled out the g-325a, and I have photocopys of tickets and boarding passes with a passport and photo of me along with the letter of intent, I have phone logs as well to send to my fiance, I'm pondering what else I would need to send her, and also what I should do from here. She has photos of us together and the petition. Any help?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 What Now
Thanks Giggles, I'll have to have a read.

It's difficult because I've already got a date for the move (16/2), we're doing a religious ceremony here (that won't be legally binding) on the 15/2 so time's a factor.
