I am deeply frustrated right now after receiving a RFE notice from USCIS about my medical exam.
Turns out to be, all of my medical forms (from St Luke's) was missing!! How the hell could it be missing???
When in fact that I didn't even open my brown envelope and pretty confident that all of my madical papers were in that brown packet.
If I had known that it didn't contain all of the necessary documents that should be in there, I could have thrown it away!!!

Now I have to redo all my medical!!!! How frustrating is that????!!! mad.gif
It wasn't my fault! They should be at least calling the stupid staff at St. Luke's or the people of the Embassy where the hell those papers are!
Rather than us paying the mistake of those stupid people who can't even do their job!!!
We are not financially stable to do this. The whole medical is just insane... crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

Do you have an medical insurance right now? If yes, use it for your AOS medical requirements.

Unfortunately, I don't have one. sad.gif

i get you!!! mine wasnt missing and all i should have done is to find a civil surgeon to transfer my slec papers to another form and signed and sent it together w/ my AOS file... but that surgeon (the whole clinic) wont sign it unless i have to undergo another medical. of course we didnt want to but they wont sign it and he's the only one affiliated in town... we paid $475 just to redo my medical exam and it was a completely bull... mad.gif
i hope yours wont be as expensive as i mine if ever they want you to do the whole thing again... good luck!!!

$475? Wow! I got an RFE today because of this. It says there that I need to submit DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026.
I only got a DS-3025 form after my medical. I don't even know what the other forms were about after I Googled it.
And it really seems like the full assesment, (physical and medical history) which had been done during my SLEC medical.
I hope we could at least get someone which is around $200. I hope everything will turn out good.
Thanks for sharing, sis!

can somebody in phil request for your med. exam result in slec??? not sure if its possible but who knows... or you can call them... otherwise you still need a civil surgeon here to transfer your data from slec (the one that they gave you after your medical)... and hoping you can get that result from slec in a sealed envelope (i dont thing we're suppose to see them or they may think we tampered it hmm)

I don't know, sis. Do you know what # to call for SLEC?

Hello...The USCIS need d vaccination documentation worksheet sheet that St. Luke given to us after the medical check up, its not d CD nor anything from brown envelope. Think of it friend...God Bless.[/font]

I know that sis. Unfortunately, the whole medical done in the Philippines was lost during my AOS process.
I don't know where exactly it got lost.
It may be that St Luke's didn't attach all of the medical exam in the said packet, or it was already lost in the Embassy.
It could have been that the POE Immigration Officer misplaced it or the USCIS lost it upon transfer of AOS case to California.
I don't even know which department I should put the blame on..

PhilippinesName on Visa
QUOTE (FATE's BLESSING @ May 27 2009, 09:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I had my interview last thurs. May21 and I passed.
Got my visa packet yesterday May27. I know my question is too shallow, maybe I am just paranoid hehe....

Have a question regarding Visa Packet coz it says do not open the yellow envelope. Is it normal that the envelope has a certain part with a cut meaning we can see the documents inside? I did not open or even attempt to open the envelope it still fully sealed though I got confuse with the part that has a cut.

Also, May I know if your given name on your visa includes your middle name?

Coz on my Passport its surname/ given name/ middle name
Ex. Gomez/ Jenny Lara/ Reyes

…..then on my Visa its surname/given name but its written this way
Gomez/ Jenny Lara Reyes - This is fine right? I made a research and I think I should not have to worry about it but just want to double check hehe...

Your good to go, sis! good.gif
The cut is normal. You may see the papers inside but don't take a peek to much, maybe you could tear the cut. They would think its tampered.
They are much paranoid than us. Hehehehe.. Don't forget to take a CFO seminar before departure. You will need that plus a CFO stamp.
You cannot board the plane and be on an international flight if you didn't took the CFO seminar and have a CFO stamp on your passport.
Best wishes in advance and happy trip!

I remember I sent one, from PI to US, cost me about 25K to send clothes and important documents, pictures and Philippines stuff, thru DHL, used their jumbo box, took 5 days to get here. That's a lot of money, not doing it again.

I'm definitely not doing it again once this gets shipped. All of the rates are freaking expensive. mad.gif
If it wasn't really important and sentimental, I wouldn't bother having it.

I left a box of personal stuff in the Phils. and ready to be send here. I dont see any problem in sending it here. I also inquired some couriers and its too expensive. DHL would cost PhP 20K for 50 lbs for 2-3 days, UPS is a little bit higher. Well it would not cost you that much if your clothes will not weigh 50 lbs. I found the Johnny Air Cargo for $237 for 70 lbs but it will take 45 days. It dont matter as long as it will get here and it will not cost me a lot. Make some inquiries and make sure you have the right weight so you'll get the exact charges.

Wow! Mine seems like less than 5 pounds.

Philippinesshipping clothes from PI to US
Hello everyone! It's been a while since I posted a topic and I am now back to seek some advices.

I left some of my clothes in my PI coz I thought I won't need them because of the different weather conditions here in the US.

Now that it's spring and close to summer, I am wondering if I would see any problem sending some of my clothes here.

My bestfriend in PI said that she asked LBC if there's any problem that we might consider if I decide to send some of my clothes here.

They said that it is impossible to send clothes to the US coz it would be hindered by the US Customs. Is this true?

Had anybody tried shipping some of their clothes to the US and received them?

If yes, can you suggest any courier service?

Hope to hear some replies from all of you..

QUOTE (michelle425 @ May 7 2009, 08:29 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi! i'm just wondering about some things since i just got recently approved..

1. how long does it usually take for the visa to be mailed? i live in davao and I got approved just last April 29... Depends on where you lived. Or if your house can be easily located. Some says it takes within a week for those who live in Manila or more for other regions.
2. do I need to buy a roundtrip ticket or is one-way (going to the states) okay? After receiving my visa, air fares weren't that affordable. One-way tickets seems to be more expensive than roundtrip, so my hubby purchased roundtrip tickets for me instead of one-way. You may purchase whatever suits your budget.
3. can you apply for a SSN already and work when you get in the states or do you have to get married first before everything else? You may apply for a SSN 2 weeks after US arrival. Though when you apply for SSN, the number would be in your maiden name. You may change it when you get your green card. About working, you may only do so once you get your working permit or the EAD card. This can be done after marriage and applying for adjustment of status.
4. what is CFO seminar? i have no idea about that.. kailangan ba yan sa K1 visa or sa immigrant visas lng? CFO seminar is a pre-departure seminar for all intending immigrants to the US. It is important to attend the seminar and have your CFO sticker stamped in your passport. You cannot leave PI without the CFO sticker.
Have a safe trip, sis!

thank you for all your help and prayers! smile.gif

PhilippinesDelayed birth certificate?
If BC is registered late for a couple of years, I suggest that your fiancee bring an original copy of her Baptismal Certificate.
Just in case, the CO would make it a big deal. I got lucky on bringing mine upon my Embassy interview. My friend wasn't so lucky though.

Good Luck! smile.gif

Philippineswhat to do when i get to USA?
I agree with the other member's advice here.
Get married before your I-94 expires. I-94 is stapled in your passport upon arriving at your POE.
Then you may apply for SSN 2 weeks after US arrival or after you get married. I suggest the latter.
Don't worry if your SSN will be on your maiden name since you can change it when you do your AOS and present your GC.

Good luck and happy trip!
cEzYcHiCFemalePhilippines2009-07-09 12:55:00
PhilippinesHow necessary is Baptismal Certificate during interview?
Haole is right. If your Birth Certificate is not late registered, then it's not necessary to bring your Baptismal Certificate.

I agree that having separate accounts is the solution to this. good.gif His, mine and ours.
Before we got married, we talked about sending money to help my family especially my sister's tuition and so far right now I think we made the right decision.
Arguments about finances can reallly end up to a broken marriage.
I hope your wife realizes that she's giving her family too much to the point that they depend on her financially even up to now that she is unemployed.
We only send $100 every 2-3 months and paid my sister's tuition in full.
I hope she sees the fact that you are not able to spend time with her because you're working your #### off and overtime to pay for your daily expenses.
Good Luck!

I agree. I almost had a fight with my hubby about the CS thing.
He keeps saying that all CS clinics he called wants me to do the whole medical and I keep telling him is that all they need is to transcribe my DS3025.
So, to avoid more aggravation, we used Dr. Arnold's services.
Unfortunately, USCIS lost all of my medical files that I took at St. Luke's.
So, I still ended having a new medical done despite that I had been thru it.
It is crappy because they're ripping people off.
I feel bad for those who have no idea with the visa processing and stuff.
They probably did the whole medical without visiting VJ. Hehehe biggrin.gif

Philippinesstraight talk about sex
I agree that there may be a huge underlying issues about it.
It could be insecurities about her body.
It could be that she was abused before.
It could be that she is still adjusting to the marriage itself. It takes a lot of getting used to especially sleeping with your husband.
It could be partly cultural thing since there are Filipinas that are shy.
Having the lights turned out upon making love could be a preference of her's.
Try talking to her about it.

QUOTE (brendon1101rebz @ Jul 18 2009, 03:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
ok, i'll try to make the story short.

my husband fell asleep while he's in the computer. out of my curiosity, i checked his emails and friendster/facebook since he's still logged in.
(i really don't know his passwords.)

i caught that there's a girl sending him nude pictures in his email and calling him "baby".

i felt so disappointed that i confronted him about it. he told me that he never denied that he's already married, and showed some emails from that girl saying"i find married guys more exciting. so i don't care, let's just enjoy baby." i don't know what to feel. (knowing that the girl is also from Philippines)

i told him to give me his passwords, but he won't allow me. saying that he wants to have privacy with his messages. i do trust my husband, but this issue is affecting our married life. i really can't trust the girls around him. am i having some insecurities issue?

i told him that i just want to go back in my home country if he'll just play around. but he won't allow me, instead he promised and assured me not to do anything that would harm our relationship.

i just want it to be fair since he knows all my passwords. but he really won't give me his codes.

am i being over protective or over acting about this?

IS THERE REALLY A THING CALLED PRIVACY BETWEEN MARRIED COUPLE? ARE THERE REALLY LIMITATIONS?

thanks for the advices.

I have the same story like yours except the part where the girl sent him nude pics.
My hubby always receive emails from his friends with girls showing off their privates.
And he knows all of my passwords. But I don't know his. Maybe because I've never asked him.
Try talking to him on deleting the girl's email add or blocking it. I think that would be a better start.

I see things quite differently. I always hear about cases where the husband kills his Filipina bride. The matter of the fact is that the men killing there Filipina bride is more common than the Filipina bride killing the husband. Either way its truly sad.

I heard a story where a army man stationed in Angles City had his Filipina maid that he was having a affair with, he had her family kill his wife so that they could be together. They were caught.

I remember this case. I watched it at Forensic Files.

I'm curious to see how your cases went after a brief courtship? How long was it from the time you met until you got married? If you married in the Phils, did you file CR-1 and if so, how did that work out? If K-1, how long until you filed after a short period of time knowing each other and what were the results of that?

Hubby and I met on a dating site (which both of us has no idea that it was a dating site) a day after I registered to be a member.
Then we started off as friends since I wasn't looking for someone to date. After 3 months on being friends, he told me that he loved me and asked me to be his gf.

You may see in my timeline that I did my medical 3-4 days before my USEM interview.
Though St. Lukes suggests that the medical be done a week before the USEM interview to avoid certain cases that may arouse like sputum test or having the monthly cycle.

kicking.gif Hello everyone!

I just would like to ask how your wedding plans are while waiting for the K1 Visa.

Optimistic that the NOA2 will arrive this month and be able to leave the country in or before October, my fiancé and I are already lightly discussing our wedding ideas every now and then. I don't want to wear the traditional white. Although I am a practicing Catholic, my fiancé has no religion but believes that there's a Supreme Being. We have already chosen an ordained minister who says that we can freely choose any type of wedding. I want to wear a yellow sundress. California isn't really cold in the last quarter each year anyway. A beach or a garden wedding will do. There are no definite plans but I am already excited.

Have you already prepared for your wedding to be celebrated in the Sweet Land of Liberty? Perhaps you want to present your thoughts somehow.

I guess whatever u wear and where u have it dont really matter. Go to what u and ur fiance wants and both of you will be happy. Me and my husband had a very traditional wedding back home. Very traditional church wedding. We planned it in the city at first and reception in a hotel but a month before the wedding we changed plans. We had to take back the deposit we gave for the reception and cancel the church coz we both decided everybody will be happy if we do it in our town and reception in our backyard. Oh well, so indeed everyone was happy and full, lol.
Goodluck!

Is your hubby Catholic? If not, is it a requirement to be baptized? Kasi I'm planning to have a beach wedding by 2011 in Cebu with my hubby's relatives and my family.

I have been a catechist since I was 17 years old. If one party is Catholic while the other is not, it's unnecessary for the non-Catholic individual to be baptized. I still serve nowadays in weddings and regular Holy Mass as a lector in the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. I have witnessed various weddings like an American Methodist who had a Catholic bride, etc. As far as I know, they were made to sign at Patria de Cebu this somewhat like a pre-nuptial decree by the Catholic Church stating that the man must not convert the woman into his religion and that all the kids they would have should be raised as Catholics.

I don't intend to convert my fiance into Catholicism but I won't give up my religion either. Anyway, during his visit here in Cebu, he did accompany me whenever I was in the Mass. Besides, we have talked about this matter even before he became my boyfriend.

Wow! I think my hubby won't agree with this. Though, I don't even plan on giving up my religion but he thinks that it would be better if the kids are raised to be Christians. It's less hassle since hubby and I are not really devoted church-goers.

A day before we got hitched, I was looking for a wedding dress.
Lucky for me, I was petite (hindi na ngayon sad.gif ), we looked for a white dress at the Kid's Aisle at JC Penney's.
Bought my dress for $49 and just noticed that it was made from PI.
We had our wedding in our city mayor's office.
Everything only costs less than $100.
It was simple and we liked it. biggrin.gif

kicking.gif Hello everyone!

I just would like to ask how your wedding plans are while waiting for the K1 Visa.

Optimistic that the NOA2 will arrive this month and be able to leave the country in or before October, my fiancé and I are already lightly discussing our wedding ideas every now and then. I don’t want to wear the traditional white. Although I am a practicing Catholic, my fiancé has no religion but believes that there’s a Supreme Being. We have already chosen an ordained minister who says that we can freely choose any type of wedding. I want to wear a yellow sundress. California isn’t really cold in the last quarter each year anyway.

Goodluck!

As what I have known that if you are already married then the K1 visa is not important anymore. (please correct me if I'm wrong)
Anyhow, Good Luck!
