PhilippinesRFE

How soon do they send RFE notice after they receive the petition? My daughter's petition was sent and received in February and I'm hoping that I am not waiting for RFE notice since the last update date was March 2nd. Thanks.

you should get the mailed RFE in a week or so and if its nothing serious two weeks later approved goodluck

PhilippinesStranger things have been said...BUT
From what i have come to understand that jugdeing a book by its cover is a big part of social culture in the philippines and it doesnt just have to do with you and your fiancee. I think it has alot to do with the fact that an outside appereance of a person will be what they see without getting to know the person. it is so bad there that they will be influenced about what is on the inside just from what they see. My fiancee is not that rich of a person and in trancends to her and her friends to she is looked down on from certin friends family just cause she is not well off even though she is the most nice and caring person i have met. This is just information i have picked from my fiancee not saying all filipinos are like this but could be one possibility. And i am sorry to say it has mostly to do with your skin color stay up man just dont let stuff like this bug you your above people who think like this. Love is all that matters Hear From Embassy Yet ?

PhilippinesEmailed Embassy and Got a response

Don't worry folks, for sure, NVC will schedule your interview next week. We tried emailing the Embassy before too using this email add IVManilaReplies@state.gov and yes, we got a reply because the NVC scheduled it soon after. NVC schedules every first to second week of the month though they rarely schedule some on the last week. But don't worry cause next week is already first week of May, so, go, keep bugging NVC for your interview date ;) Once you have it and they delivered it to US Embassy Manila, that's the time you can call Manila to request a date at your convenience. :) Hope this helps! God bless you!

Email is the best way to go i think you can use the same email to get an update after your approved me and my boy thomas both did both got our visa sent to 2 go within a day or two dont call just email them it will get there faster i am not sure why but i think its the truth

My fiancee just had her interview yesterday and intended to take the CFO seminar but was told she needed to have the visa in hand. Has anyone got the CFO early then gone back for the stamp or is that an urban legend?

No you can go to the CFO seminar and take it but they will only stamp when u have your visa so they give you something saying you took the course. then she can just go back and get a quick stamp when she has her visa my fiancee got her cfo done over a month ago.

For anyone worrying about interviews next week and the government shut down a short term deal has most likely been reached which would go through thursday next week so any interviews on april 14th should be ok meaning my fiancee thank god

Also i hear a long term deal has been reached so no worries about a shutdown and embassy closed for interviews

Philippinesam I cheap?

First, let's review our vocabulary.

1. If you are giving somebody money or buying them things then you are "generous" not "cheap". You are very generous.

2. If somebody does not appreciate your generosity then they are "selfish" and "greedy". Is this who you want to be with?

Whether the girl from the Philippines is college educated, has kids, or is poor is irrelevant. Selfish and greedy can come from anywhere. Those are the people you should avoid.

And somebody said that good girls from the Philippines do not ask for money. That is very true. When my fiance and her family have a financial problem, it is incredibly difficult to get them to tell me about it and to find out how much would help them. I always get the same answer "don't worry, we'll be okay." You are simply being used for your money. What is going to happen when you run out?

If I were you, I'd be very very worried. She already has her visa in hand? There are plenty of women in the Philippines, and in other countries, who just want a loving relationship and don't care about money and appreciate generosity. You have a very serious problem.

And by the way, did you say you sent $100 for her and her kid to go to Jollibee? Really? That's insane.

You need to really think about what your future is going to be like. If things don't change, you need to run from this as fast as you can.

Best of luck.

VERY TRUE I help out as much as i can but i can never get a word out of my fiancee if she needs money for a bill or whatever and when i do finally get it out of her she is so shy and hates the fact that i am sending her help. I think everyone has pretty much told this guy how it is or atleast how it should be. This topic makes me sad can we all stop ruining this guys day now Goodluck Man !

Philippinesam I cheap?

I did not send that much. That is the total including the 2 trips plus the amount we have spent so far. But we have a good time when I visit her.

I was there for a month a i spent less then you did in a week. Rule number one if she asks you for money all they time not a good sign. My fiancee is coming here in 3 days and comes from a very poor family i help out with bills but she has never asked me for money i have always given. She is hardworking and hates that we have to help her family. I dont know man this girl doesnt seem like she cares about you but just about your money BE CAREFUL

Philippinesnbi clearance

There is another couple that just recently posted on VJ also about not having their certificate of finality before filing the 129f petition. And there is another couple that got there petition returned to USCIS by the embassy in Manila because her annulment was not completed before they started the 129f petition, which is a denial by USEM. Free to marry means just that, if you were to re-marry in the Phils and needed a CENOMAR from NSO would you be able to get one before the certificate of finality? Therein is your answer, and I think it is NO. If you were NOT free to marry BEFORE filing the 129f petition and USCIS approves the petition odds are USEM will deny and return the petition to USCIS.

Hello Hank, thank you for reply.. can u give me the link of the persons that got denied on their petition? please if u can.. maybe i can ask them a questions.. please... thanks a lot.. :)

Hello, I read this long conversation. and hope u could give me some advice about my concern.. Makes me depressed and worried a lot.. We filed k-1 visa and got NOA1 april 23, the nbi clearance that i included to application and the name i used to my passport is my full real name since i never use my x-husbands last name even when we are married and i put single since i am processing my annulment that time and soon to be as single.. You think i will get deny because of putting my civil status as single? Was thinking that it was okay since i am applying for K-1 visa and needs to be single.. I also included my court decision w/o certificate of finality. They say i'm not free to marry yet.. But the date on my Annotated Marriage Certificate from NSO is the court decision date, though the certificate of finality is july 2.. Do you know of a situation where someone from the philippines was denied because their certificate of finality was after the NOA1 date? or because the passport is single and the nbi clearance is single? I'm really hopeless i don't want to be denied we have been waiting for almost 6months and expecting to have our NOA2 by nextweek.. Hope to hear from you soon.. Thank you..

PhilippinesUS Embassy: No secret, no special formula to getting a US visa

The United States Embassy in Manila recently launched a "Walang Sikreto" (No Secret) campaign to let Filipinos know that there is no secret formula to getting a US visa.

In an email to GMA News Online, Tina Malone, Information Officer of the US Embassy, said: "There really is no secret or special formula to getting a US visa."

The "Walang Sikreto" campaign, launched on October 16, aims to deter fraudulent individuals who are preying on Filipinos applying for a US visa.

The campaign aims to make Filipinos aware that the official and best source of information about US visas is the website of the US Embassy.

Malone said the embassy launched the campaign because Filipinos fall prey to scammers as they try to get a US visa.

"Too many Filipinos get scammed by sending money to individuals whom they have never met, who promise to arrange visa interviews, but the visa interview never materializes," she said.

Visa fixers

Malone said in the past, the US Embassy focused its efforts on catching visa applicants who have used visa fixers.

In most of the cases, the applicants borrowed money to pay visa fixers but did not receive a visa.

However, the US Embassy realized that it was better to get to the root of the problem.

"[W]e have decided to emphasize greater prevention in protecting Filipino applicants from losing their money and becoming permanently barred from traveling to the United States by using visa fixers or being scammed," Malone explained.

"Walang Sikreto"

In an earlier news release, the US Embassy said the "Walang Sikreto" campaign has four goals:

To encourage "honest application" when it comes to seeking a US visa;
To warn against "visa fixers" who charge illegal fees;
To urge the public to be more aware of fraud, and
To send a call of action to the public to seek more information and report any anomalies in visa operations.

Most of the targets of visa scams are tourists, students, and aspiring temporary workers who are usually gullible to "surefire formulas," the US Embassy noted.

What to avoid

Malone warned the public that if something "sounds too good to be true, it isn't true."

She said there several scamming styles but one stands out as the most common modus operandi.

"An individual, "a friend of a friend," or a travel agent promises or guarantees to get someone a U.S. visa. The visa fixer charges the individual 20,000 to 100,000 pesos or more to help the individual," she said.

"In many of the visa scams you will never meet the person. All contact will be through the phone or e-mail," she added.

Malone also mentioned that visa fixers usually claim to have a contact inside the Embassy who will help you get your visa.

"Don't believe them!" she warned.

"In the end, the visa applicant [who trusts scammers] loses all of his or her money and ends up being banned permanently from traveling to the United States," she said.

Go to US Embassy website

To prevent being scammed, Malone said applicants should go to the embassy website and use the information and resources there to apply for a visa.

"The US Embassy wants to help you in this process. Use our Embassy website manila.usembassy.gov to apply for your visa," she said.

"Help us help you by being honest in applying for your visa," she added.

"Do not use an agency or individual who makes special promises or guarantees to get you a visa or encourages you to lie or misrepresent yourself," she said.

Hello, Goodmorning...
can i asked you some question maybe u know somebody had the same situation like mine... :) I am so worried about our petition.. I just wanna ask if there's someone here who got a RFE from VSC for NSO annotated MC? I was annuled, i included my court decision on our petition and we had NOA1 april 23. Court decision dated March 20,2012, Certificate of Finality July 2, 2012 and Annotated Marriage Certificate from NSO they put the court decision March 20,2012.. They never put the date of Certificate of Finality on NSO annotated MC... Do you know of a situation where someone from the philippines was denied because their certificate of finality was after the NOA1 date? I posted here on Vj a week ago and everybody was keep telling me that my application is subject to denial because im not free to marry yet.. Makes me stressed out, depressed and so sad after all the waiting, i'm just expecting the denial from the USCIS.. Court decision declared my previous marriage as null and void and signed by presiding judge. We thought that was fine and i just have to bring all other required documents (Certificate of Finality and NSO Annotated Marriage Certificate) to the interview. Please any help info would be greatly appreciated... Thank you.. :)

So frustrating.Had interview September 25 and CO told me that before she will approve me i should submit 1 additional document (Divorce decree) of my fiance.Submitted the additional document via air21 and embassy received it Sep.29.Divorce decree included already of I-129 but pre-screener said that NVC did not send yet my papers to them.Maybe they lost my papers coz they scheduled me Sep.22 for interview but then when i went there window X told me that my file not yet in their system,so she jot down 25th on my embassy appointment letter.Had to rebook my flight for Cebu coz my interview was reschedule.

Fiance called already embassy and got the standard answer of wait in 6 weeks. He emailed also embassy but nothing clear answer when i can my visa.

It's so frustrating. I had my interview on September 25th and the CO told
me that before she will approve me I should submit 1 additional document
(divorce decree) of my fiance. I submitted it via air21, and the embassy
received it Sep.29th. Although the divorce decree was already included in
the original I-129 petition, the prescreener said that the NVC did not send
yet my papers to them although they sent me the letter that I can schedule
my interview. Maybe they lost my papers because they scheduled me Sep.22nd
for my interview, but then when I went there to window Y they told me that
my file was not yet in their system. She just wrote 25th on my embassy
appointment letter. I had to rebook my flight to Cebu because my interview
was rescheduled.

My fiance already called the embassy twice and got the standard answer of
wait 6 weeks. He emailed also but no clear answer of when I can have my

I am deeply frustrated right now after receiving a RFE notice from USCIS about my medical exam.
Turns out to be, all of my medical forms (from St Luke's) was missing!! How the hell could it be missing???
When in fact that I didn't even open my brown envelope and pretty confident that all of my madical papers were in that brown packet.
If I had known that it didn't contain all of the necessary documents that should be in there, I could have thrown it away!!!

Now I have to redo all my medical!!!! How frustrating is that????!!! mad.gif
It wasn't my fault! They should be at least calling the stupid staff at St. Luke's or the people of the Embassy where the hell those papers are!
Rather than us paying the mistake of those stupid people who can't even do their job!!!
We are not financially stable to do this. The whole medical is just insane... crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

Money matters!!what a ripp off...anyways you better call them as other posters suggested and here's a contact numbers of St.Lukes..Relax and good luck!!

St. Luke's Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLMCEC)
Address:
1177 J. Bocobo St.
Ermita, 1000 Manila

Telephone numbers:
(632) 521-0020
(632) 521-8647
(632) 524-6083

Thank you so much for this! We are looking to do any option that we could to skip the 'whole redo medical thing'.
We already had someone from the FBI look on our case and are optimistic that we won't be doing the medical again.
USCIS needs to stop doing this for some innocent applicants who are struggling to file AOS and totally ripping them off
with something that wasn't even the AOS applicant's fault.
They might think that we are the ones who are in need of it and would definitely do everything (paying the mistakes that they did) just to get a GC.
