K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 APPROVED AT LAST!!!

I'm very excited with the conclusion. good.gif

Thank you my VJ's peers for helping me with the VISA process. I'm indebted to everyone here. My wife got her k-3 Visa and is en route for the USA on March 19, 2008! I'm very excited! No lawyers, no legal consultation required. There was a small bump at the end of the interview that made me think I will be needing a lawyer; however, that process was just a quick fix on my part. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!! good.gif

Congratulations!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS156 - Question 26
QUOTE (Agentes @ Mar 7 2008, 01:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
On question 26: "How Long Do You Intend To Stay in The U.S.?"

We are applying for a K3 and I told my wife to put "permanently" for this question.

She went to the bank today to pay for the visa and turn in the DS156. After she did this she tells me that the guy at the bank says she can not put "permanently" and she has to put a date. She is confused and the guys says: "6 months, 1 year, 2years, 5 years??? How long do you intend to be in the U.S.?" so my wife answers "5 years".

Anyway, I was thinking to go back and change it. I told her if he wants a time frame to put "1000 years". If he wants a year put until "2999". What exactly should we do about this? What is the worse case scenario?

Since it is Friday I would like to her to be able to go back to the bank today if possible.

Any help is much appreciated!!!

I answered mine permanently and there was no problem with it...

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPassport with my maiden name
QUOTE (dorky&pooper @ Oct 7 2008, 08:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi, here I am again! I just wanna ask if I could still use my old Philippine passport with my maiden name to present to the USEM on my future interview and to travel to US? Or do I need to get a new passport with my married name now. I haven't use this passport and it will expire on Sept. 2010. I just don't want to waste money and time to apply for a new passport if i could still use my old one. LOL star_smile.gif helpsmilie.gif

To have a new passport here is more expensive. It will cost around 75US here if just to amend it cost 20.

Why would you want your friend to work it out with a deceptive man such as this? Who gives a flying rats you-know-what about what happens to him, but she needs to be able to move on in life and hopefully find someone that can treat her with respect. She should do what she needs to do to achieve her own personal success.

Thank you for pointing that out of my wishing... I am going to forward this input from you guys .

Thank you guys for the quick input. Just sad she was waiting for a year and just have such news. Another question though... IF she will not sign the divorce, what she can do about it? Can the husband file an uncontested divorce with her being the Philippines?

yes he can.
service by publication in the leagal section of the newspaper. He was just trying to swave the cost of doing this, by having her sign and acknowlwdge to complaint.

Have the guy send her a copy of the complaint, but do not sign for certified mail.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate very much.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHusband ( USC) claim his divroce with Ex ( USC) was not final ...
Hi Guys,

I need some help for a friend in the Philippines who is married to a USC and they are still waiting for NOA2 at the moment. They've been married nearly 2 yrs now and things had change recently with their relationship. Just last December the came back to the Philippines to supposedly visit the wife but he only stayed there for 2 days. He confessed to his wife that he has another girl in manila and he is no longer in love with his wife. He told her that he arrived a week early and stayed there with the girl. The wife was devastated about it but still hoping that the husband will come back to her. Anyway after he came back to the US he tried ignoring her. Just 3 days ago the husband called the wife telling her that he has a big problem. He said that she needs to sign a divorce paper because his previous marriage to his was not final when they got married in the philippines and the ex wife is filing a case to him about bigamy. Anyway, my question is : IS this possible that the divorce was not final?

Thank you very much for any input..

Riza

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionYES...we're approved!!!

We had a successful interview yesterday at the Manila Embassy. I cant describe the feeling, we are so overwhelmed!

I was interviewed around 8:30 am by the pre-interview screener, holding number 7016. It was short and only asked me few questions and to submit my BC, CENOMAR, NBI, other police clearance, affidavit of support, emails and pictures.During my fingerprint scanning, got a little prob coz my fingers are small esp my pinky, lol! So i need to repeat it and i made the fingerprinting scanner laughed and other applicants.

At 9:50am, my number flash at the queing board to meet the Consul (lil nervous). I have to wait coz he still interviewing the old couple for their tourist visa so at exactly 10am time to meet the CO. He asked to raised my right hand and sworn. He asked me the ff questions:

1) Who is my petitioner
2) How long i know my fiance and if we ever discuss our marriage.
3) When i met him personally and how long he stayed
4) My fiance civil status
5) If i ever been married and if i have kid/s
5) My educational attainment and course of study
(he was impressed coz he read i graduated in a university of scholars in Manila)

After that he congratulate me and told me to give Joe a call to tell him i was approved!!!
I told him i wish i could but i left my celphone on our car, then we both laughed. When i left cubicle 29, i feel like floating in the air, our conversation is great, the CO is kind and approachable, u wont feel nervous coz he always smile. He told me that he has no doubt abt our relationship and he didnt want to disappoint my fiance's daughter coz he read her letter saying she cant wait for me to be with them, good point that i included some of their pictures.

Thank you fellow vjers who sent us prayers and goodluck to make our interview a huge success!
GOODLUCK and MAY GOD BLESS US ALWAYS...

I would like to extend my congratulations too to Lizzie and Bob, Kevin and Leslie, Danny and Ruchie and to all others who were approved too...CONGRATULATION once again

Joe and Maria

Thank You! Ruchie and I wish you Both many many years of Happiness together! I would like to say to the Ladies that interviewed! "Good Job, very well done! Us guys are proud of YOU!" :D
