Yes you can pick up the visa BUT NOT right after the interview. You have to wait a few days for the visa before you can go to USEM to pick 'em up.

Better chance of you guys/your fiancee passing the interview and also being able to pick up the visa if you attend the interview.

Yes, exactly right - no guarantees but if USC attends interview and requests visa pick up there is a good chance to be successful. I attended my fiancees interview and we picked up visa 2 days after interview.


So USC has to be there for pickup? (i am going to interview) Just curious though. Also how do you know when its ready for pickup?


It depends in the consul if they will let you pick up the visa or delivered by air21, my husband is not with me when i done my interview last friday. The embassy will call you if it's ready to pick up.

As advise... You and your wife should not tell about citation anymore, there's no record in her police certificate. the more you tell about the more will be complicated. US embassy are very strict about having trouble. It is just my advise

Yes. When your papers are at the NVC already, the choice of agent will be generated. You can send the choice of agent through email or snail mail. Others did both, but to me I sent the Choice of agent through email and it was accepted after 5 days. Once the choice of agent is accepted, wail until NVC generates the Bills for your AOS and DS230, you'll receive an email/snail mail for the bills.. pay them at online fee collection of NVC website. ( you need your invoice number so you can pay online) The invoice number can be found in the email/snail mail notification that they will send to you.

Prepare all your forms for the IV packet. (I-864 forms, and all components e.g W2s, tax returns etc. ) so by the time your payment went through nvc, all you have to do is to submit the 2 last batch of docs (AOS and DS230) you have to submit to NVC. Then wait for your case completion... have your medical, wait for your interview sched.. Pronto!

But in the NOA2 hard copy the USCIS tells there that it takes 90 days before the NVC receive the case, is that true? why the post here it takes days or weeks only... hopefully they will give our case # soon like yours and other VJers.

Lady AA, if your papers were approved last Aug 21, I am positive that it was now forwarded to NVC. Call the NVC at 603-334-0700 and follow the voice prompt to check if they have received your papers already. And this time, if its with them already, then you can send the choice of agent. From there, everything will be really fast...
Hard copy is needed in the later time.

It's the same, fiancee and spouse visas is 5 months processing at the USCIS and they have different flow at NVC. You are lucky you already got your NVC#. congrats!

My fiance called the Immigration call center on August 27, 2009. Does the "Last Updated" date impact anything at all with the waiting time we have for the NOA2? I mean, does it mean that they are already on our case and it is actually processing?

I do not want you to be sad or feeling anything but if i'm in your situation I will feel the way you feel right now. When my husband went to Jamaica last Aug. 5 and he stayed there for 5 days... He told me that he can't call me because the call cards there are so expensive and he will left his laptop at home because he do not want to leave any gadgets at the hotel. He went there for the wedding of one of the officers in the military and that is his home town. You can feel if your husband do anything at your back.

base on your timeline, your case were approved on the 21th but you just received the hard copy, have you tried call NVC? they usully get the file 3-4 (based on our case) days after USCIS approved your petition. i may be wrong and others can give you the accurate respond.



Yup, I already called the NVC for 1 week already and until now they haven't receive our case... it's really killing me. My husband really wants to start to process our papers so I can be there with him before christmas.

sputum test, you will be required to spit on a small jar for 3 days but only the applicants that has found something suspicious in their chest x-ray would do the said test. however this doesn't mean you have TB. only thing is you'll have to wait for 8 weeks for the culture test...

As far as I know, your mother should appoint your uncle as the agent before he is the petitioner. Maybe that is the reason why until now you haven't heard anything from NVC. You should correct the ds3032 of your mother. call NVC, here is the #001 (603) 334-0700 You can talk to an operator or listen to AVR. ready your mother's NVC case#, petitioners name and date of birth, beneficiaries name and date of birth. Give to the operator their email address.
