So who all is going to be sending some kisses to VSC?!?!??!?!?!?!

I think I will. I was looking at Kiss Tower and trying to figure out how I could write "I've missed this many kisses in 145 days waiting for you guys!!" in 30 characters or less but .. I htink the last bit might have to go, on the personizable kiss flag. But .. i think its worth doing. If nothing else the sugar high might make them work faster. :energetic:

good.gif Ok the press release has been submitted and scheduled for distribution on monday.

SO NOWS THE TIME TO BOMBARD VSC WITH THE HERSHEY KISSES AND MAKE THEM TAKE NOTICE!!!

Hopefully some press coverage will get the public behind us as well kicking.gif

just a reminder; remember what the guy that used to an adjudicator said; many of these folks work from home and may only come to the office once or twice a week; you petition could be approved but be at home with an adjudicator; when entered into the system it will show as approved.

another point, I think some of the fast approvals were because these folks came back with spotless criminal records, no previous marriages, etc and might have been easier to approve than some of us with divorces, previous K1 applications, previous criminal records-no matter how minor, etc

I fall into this category (not even a speck on my record, no prior marriages or children) along with being in the reserves with an active DoD Secret Clearance and past military.

I'll send a package to the VSC.

Hello everyone, I have a bit of breaking news to share with you all.

I sent this email to CIS Ombudsman maybe a day or three ago:

Great effort in contacting the ombudsman.

I dispute the USCIS's claim that September petitions are being approved because they are especially well documented. That is just baloney. What could they have possibly submitted that allowed them be processed before May, June, July and August petitions? I can see that a petition without any complications would be processed before a more complicated petition submitted at the same time, but there is no way in the world that they should be even looking at non expedited September petitions yet.

When I wrote to the Ombudsman today, I pointed out that while there are different variables and nuances which may cause some petitions to be approved before others, I am highly skeptical that the 100s of petitons filed prior to Sept. 2007 are all of a more complex nature and less well documented than the few that have been approved after that time.

Unless they physically stapled their bodies to their applications I can't imagine these September petitions being anymore well documented then ours.

LOL No kidding!!! I studied for over a year in preparing to file! It was well organized and well documented!! I dare an adjudicator to dust it off and take a look - its all there!!!

We all need to keep pounding the ombudsman with this info and have our concerns addressed. Hopefully we can make a difference!

Yeah, that's BS. They shouldn't even be touching those yet as many of ours haven't been touched yet, so how would they know how swell they are versus the other petitions?

My theory is they decided they had all they could handle with the may, june , july, august piles and started to split off the newer petitions to another work group to get started on. Not saying it's fair ...

Hey on the USCIS homepage, righthand column there is an update on processing delays.
It says those who filed after june 1 will have a longer wait. I wonder if they mean longer than we have already waited or if they are just getting around to letting us know there processing times have slowed down? wacko.gif

VSC has been dragging its feet,
Taking its time to do its thing,
Giving us nothing in return,
Give us something we may sing.

An approval a week
Is not very much,
We look for more,
even just a touch

Your driving us crazy,
making us nuts,
we want noa2
No ands ifs or buts.

Our cries go unheard,
as we wimper and whine,
waiting an answer
the one so devine.

Your approved is the email
we all want to see
Today or sooner,
this is our plea.

So give us our approvals
pick up the speed,
Give us noa2,
this is our need.

Just off the top of my head there....but you guys get the point...see what waiting does to us? We resort to making lists of what to do and writing really bad poetry.... whistling.gif whistling.gif

good.gif Hey that's not bad, I may send that with the hershey kisses.
I think monday or tuesday i'll assume everyone who's going to help with the chocolate kiss press release fee is in so maybe we could plan to start shipping choco wednesday or thursday. Then press release on monday (as friday and weekend is press deadzone) when they have started arriving.

How does that sound all? Maybe we think they are back up to speed and we don't need it? Any thoughts?

How much are you asking for? I don't mind helping out if it's not too exorbitant.

Ok, the total for all of us to send one press release about the chocolate drop to VSC is $299. But so far we have 7 people, if you're in, so divide 299/7= 42.7 dollars approx.

Hopefully more people will want to help whistling.gif and it will bring the total down. Let me know if that's ok for you please and I'll put you on the list.

Here is a copy of what I sent to Lou:

Lou, I think you do a great job, and I would like you to do some digging on the current state of affairs at the US Citizenship and Immigration Service with respect to K1 and K3 visas. Currently it appears that the US goverment is putting foriegn nationals and thier work related visas ahead of US citizens who are wanting to bring thier fiancee/spouse to the US to share the American dream. If, in fact, this is the case it is deplorable behaviour by our government. Currently the Vermont Service Center does not appear to be working on K1 and K3 visas despite a 200%+ price hike in order to better streamline the process. Myself and several others from all over the US and in different phases of the process are available to talk with you to provide background for any research you might need to do.

Thanks for the great reporting Lou, I hope that by having you look into the deplorable behaviour by our government I can effect some measure of change, "light a fire under the USCIS" if you will to help others who come after me.

so if people don't like it, that's their business; don't buy into it smile.gif

Anyways...we obviously got some attention from all the websites that picked it up...

So WHEN is this chocolate drop?????

We need to square away the press release distribution. Bill B and I think we should pay the $299 for max effect. Need to know who is interested in contributing, so far Bill B, Zee, Amrssnowangel, Janaus. Once I know total number of contributors I can divide into $299 to get amount for each. Everyone who's in for that part please pm me and I'll send back my address so you can send your contribution, ok?

Pursuit of Fiance Visas Leads Lovelorn to Bond Online

By Karin Brulliard
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, October 29, 2007; Page A01

This is what love has done to Wendy Brown: She's lost weight, resumed smoking and all but decided to move to the Balkans to be with her Albanian fiance. And each night, she spends hours in her cozy Baltimore apartment mingling online with strangers who are equally fixated on the same topic: getting their soul mates through the U.S. immigration system.

"We are both devastated," Brown, 38, wrote last spring on VisaJourney.com, reporting that the U.S. Embassy in Albania had denied her fiance a visa. She also posted a list of the questions the fiance was asked at his interview. "I'm going to keep fighting and fighting until we get what we both want more than anything in the world. . . . and that is to be together." Many people are frustrated with the immigration process and its long lines and opaque applications that, if misinterpreted, can send a case back to square one. Perhaps none are more ardent than the growing ranks of U.S. citizens applying for fiance and spouse visas, who say their passion is driven by a sense that their own government is fighting them and by the fear that delays or denials might spell the end of a romance.

CITIZENS JOIN IN CHOCOLATE GIFTS TO USCIS IN HOPE TO GET SAME SERVICE FOREIGN WORKERS GOT WITH FLOWERS TO DIRECTOR OF USCIS

- A Web based group of US Citizens frustrated with wait times that have increased from one month to five months and growing for the first step In the long process of bringing their fiance(e)'s to the USA has sent loads of Hershey's Kisses to remind USCIS that they are waiting to be with their loved ones and trying to follow the legal way of bringing them to the United States -

This week dozens of pounds of chocolate kisses were sent to the USCIS Vermont office by US Citizens petitioning for I129f visas for their fiance(e)'s to join them in the USA. The first step in the year or longer process that continues once they arrive in the US is the I129f petition to show the fiance(e)' is initially eligible to apply. These citizens are also frustrated that foreign workers holding H1B visas can get a visa for their spouses in just one day from the US Embassy in their home country.

Waiting times for this initial step have increased from one month in April to five months and climbing. This is in spite of a more than 150% increase in the filing fee in July. This extended time apart is very stressful for the couples who have to deal with separation anxiety, medical issues like miscarriages or family health emergencies, even children being raised without one parent.

These citizens are frustrated that USCIS is giving priority to work related visas and has pulled immigration officers off their cases for other "priorities". They also want adjusted what they believe is an unreasonable, unfair, and immoral internal USCIS goal of six months to complete the initial step of the I129f petition (which can take a processor as little as 15 minutes to review). This type of I129 petitioner is also not allowed to pay for premium 15 day processing as employment visas are allowed to request. The citizens hope that by sending these chocolates they can get the same positive response foreign workers with H1Bs got by sending flowers to the USCIS director earlier this year when they sought, successfully, to extend an already unusual opening for them to file greencard requests.

Virgillionairre,
How about let's set a contribution for this at $50 and anybody wanting to participate to send you a personal message to give them your name and mailing address to send the money to you? If you get less than 7 people, we can give more, if you get more than 7 we can give less. Will $350 cover all your costs?

Ok Bill,

that sounds good. I actually found a cheaper, better site to distribute for $299. So make it 6 people? As far as I know that should cover it.

I hope we can do it in the next week or so. I guess pick a day to order the chocolates together, then put the press release out the day they start arriving?

The citizens hope that by sending these chocolates they can get the same positive response foreign workers with H1Bs got by sending flowers to the USCIS director earlier this year when they sought, successfully, to extend an already unusual opening for them to file greencard requests.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?
Yes it's the Washington Post. The reporters name is Karin Brulliard. Not sure what section it will be in, though they did an article about foreign artists problems with visas last week on the front page.

I think clipping it out and using it is a good idea. I think we should send it with the press release.

Another updated draft - hope to get this rolling this week so we can make the Post article good.gif

OK Operation Chocolate press release 2.1 :

Date FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CITIZENS JOIN IN CHOCOLATE GIFTS TO USCIS IN HOPE TO GET SERVICE FOREIGN WORKERS GOT WITH FLOWERS TO DIRECTOR OF USCIS

- A Web based group of US Citizens frustrated with waiting times that have increased from one month to five months and growing for the first step on the long process to bring their fiancee's to the USA has sent loads of Hershey's Kisses to remind USCIS that they are waiting to be with their loved ones and trying to follow the legal wayof bringing them to the United States -

This week dozens of pounds of chocolate kisses were sent to the USCIS Vermont office by US Citizens applying for I129f visas for their fiancee's to join them in the USA. The first step in the year or longer process that continues once they arrive in the US is the I129f petition to show the fiancee' is initially eligible to apply. These citizens are also frustrated that foreign workers holding H1B visas can get a visa for their spouses in just one day from the US Embassy in their home country.

Waiting times for this initial step have increased from one month in April to five months and climbing. This is in spite of a more than 150%increase in the filing fee in July. This extended time apart is very stressful for the couples who have to deal with separation anxiety, medical issues like miscarriages or family health emergencies, even children being raised without one parent.

These citizens are frustrated that USCIS is giving priority to work related visas and has pulled immigration officers off their cases for other priorities. They also want adjusted what they believe is an unreasonable, unfair, and immoral internal USCIS goal of six months to complete the initial step of the I129f petition (which can take a processor as little as 15 minutes to review). This type of I129 petition is also not allowed to pay for premium 15 day processing as employment visas are allowed to request. Hi virgillionare,

Looking great. At the end of this, "Hershey's Kisses to remind USCIS that they are waiting to be with their loved ones -" Please add this, "in which they are trying to follow the legal way of bringing them to the United States."

And after this, "These citizens are frustrated that USCIS is giving priority to work related visas and has pulled immigration officers off their cases for other priorities." please add this, "while adjusting the US citizen petitions for their foreign spouses and fiance(e)s visa processing times to what many claim an unreasonable, unfair, and immoral internal goal of 6 months for doing just the first portion of the long process."

How much does it cost to pay for it to ensure it gets in? I think I saw where we could pay or where we could email it and hope it gets in. Is this correct? Please clarify. Again, thanks for all your efforts on this.

Hey Bill B,

thanks for the comments and the additions. I put the first one in but the second one didn't read right can you double check it for me so it says what you mean. I'll add something in that vein at least.

As for the press release distribution. It's free to send one to AP, they have an email address for it. Other places like CNN we'd have to email and hope. One news group said they wanted press releases only from one of the press release services like PRNewswire.com, Business Wire, PrimeZone or Market Wire. Upon checking these places I saw prices like $350 to distribute to all the news services.

I did see one site when when I searched "press release how to" that offered to distribute for $30 but it read like it only distributed on the web or 'in search engines'. Sounded like you get what you pay for to me.

We also have the Post article and she'll put it in if we do it soon enough. Then the story can get 'picked up' as they say. So I'd like to do this soon ... What do you think?

H-1's are vital to our economy and it would never work to give work visas to people half a year after they apply, the job would go unfilled for that long and eventually those companies that need those people would offshore the job to wherever the people are that can do it.

I don't buy that. I think bringing in someone, who is going to live here, permanently and pay taxes permanently, and be a part of the US economy permanently, that would be more beneficial in the long run than having someone come here to work.

You'd think the government would much rather have more potential citizens and fulltime taxpayers rather than temporary labor. Apparantly not.

You would think that would be the case. But what they were saying is that with all the red tape involved to MOVE someone here permanently, businesses can't wait. They need the worker today. Not in 6=12 months. So the H1 visa gets them the worker NOW. Im not so upset that USCIS is prioritizing the I485's over us because those people ARE HERE..and WAITING to find work and CANT till they get that EAD. THAT can cause a financial strain on families. How would we feel to get our SO here...then be postponed getting a job because the I485 is behind. I"d be infuriated. MOre than now. Soooo, stands to reason they made THAT the priority. Dont confuse what USCIS is doing...the H1 is NOT the priority. The I485's are.

Now what BUGS me is that their site THEN says...AFTER the I485 the next priority is those seeking citizenship.....HUH???? Come on... those people ARE here...they ARE working....WHY is that the next priority? This isn't an issue of USCIS being indifferent..this is an issue of the governments poor planniing, and poor preperation...we aren't the ONLY time in immigration this has happened to. I found articles of slow downs in 2005, 2003 and 2000. So its NOT the first time..wont be the last.

If this was YOUR business and you have a steady work load..then SUDDENLY you get to much work...do you jsut run out to hire people? No. Thats not cost effective..you work overtime, you work harder, you prioritize. Then when you are caught up...the workload goes to normal. Flucuations like that happen in business all the time. AFter USCIS gets all this caught up...if they hire more workers SIMPLY to catch up...what happens to those workers AFTER they catch up when its normal again???? Is it really the wisest thing to hire more JUST to make it through a hard time? If I was in charge...I'd say no. I dont want to lay off workers and affect even more families.

Im not defending how long this is taking. As Bill states..Im being realistic. Personally I think the workers are doing their best. Is the system broken? Yes to an extent. But is it just possible that our emotions are running high...because we want our loves here...we are emotionally spent?

I think the priorities they are referring to is only re receipting. They have a receipting backlog as well as a processing backlog. I haven't read anything about processing priorities other than the 2 month and 15 day timeframes for certain applications. And of course what we see is happening with K1s.

As far as the NEED of business for H1B visas I have to interject something. Agribusiness needs migrant workers because Americans won't do it at THE WAGES THEY WANT TO PAY. Same goes for many other jobs as well. They outsource writing computer code to India because it's CHEAPER not because it can't be done here. That's behind a lot of the H1B visa stuff. Have to recognize ulterior motives to these people and what they say. Alan Greenspan even advocates for more H1B visas as a way to "tamp down" rising american wages in skilled positions cause somehow that's bad. Funny how they worship supply and demand until it comes to paying people? headbonk.gif

Thanks Byron for your wishes!!! I hope my approval comes very very fast! :-)
I want you to take a look at this link....it's about and immigration officer who used to work at NSC and filled out an I-129F for his fiancee and he talks about the process of applications....anyways, his name is HUSKERKIEV and read post number 43, paragraph 6. He talks about RFE's.

I'm sure your approval will come very soon Byron!!! Let's keep thinking positive biggrin.gif

WOW, I actually got a touch, it says that they received the requested evidence ( a missing signature on a form) and that now the case processing has resumed....it says i will be notified by mail within 60 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! mad.gif .....Please tell me that this is just due process and that it really doesnt take that long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is just standard notification. Let's hope for aonly a few days. Good luck Byron!!! This is it.

Holy Cow!! My projected adjudication date came backwards 2weeks!! The biggest jump I've ever had. kicking.gif Very cool...

Once again....I hate to be the bearer of bad news. The REASON we all see our estimated adjudication dates have come closer by almost 2 weeks is due to TWO petitions being approved in 18-20 days.

Carly and Evan Canada NOA1 10/1 NOA2 10/22
Misa and Kat Cuba NOA1 10/2 NOA2 10/18

these FAST approvals have messed up those dates until more realistic dates are entered into the timelines. This is why we've seen such a change. Just wait...they will move back again as soon as other wait times are entered.

I thought only Cuba gets approved very fast.....what about Canada? I think some officer f'd there.....

Something happened. They left us comments that they did not expedite and have NO CLUE why they were approved. Im glad they did...but have to wonder HOW that one or the September ones happened. Im pretty sure my request to expedite will be denied. Its rare they approve those.

Good luck Byron and Mirla

Come on now ... aren't you one of those positive people? I think you have a pretty good chance of getting the expedite, anyway I'm rooting for you yes.gif

CITIZENS JOIN IN CHOCOLATE DROP TO USCIS IN HOPE TO GET SERVICE THAT FOREIGN WORKERS GOT WITH FLOWERS TO USCIS DIRECTOR

Waiting times for this initial, traditionally easy step have increased from one month in April to five months and climbing. This is in spite of a more than 150% increase in the filing fee for this initial step in July from $170 to $440.

The citizens hope that by sending these hershey's kisses they can get the same positive response foreign workers here on H1B visas got by sendind flowers to the USCIS director earlier this year when they sought, successfully, to extend an already unusual unlimited opening for them to file greencard requests.

Totally agree Bill y Bella. Their service sucks, period! I am so tired of coming on here and seeing zero approvals, zero! I have been saying for a long time now that we will most likely wait about 6 months and many just sat back and did nothing. I cannot believe every K-1/K3 filer who isn't approved yet has not written their elected officials and media. This is sickening and mark my words, those that did nothing will regret it some day. Sure, the day will come some day and you will be happy when it does, but think of the time together with your loved one that they took away and you can never get back, and God forbid if one of them dies while waiting these unreasonable times. As usual, I see today they are too busy processing work visas, refugee visas, receipting issues, etc. above ours...I never said they aren't working. I have always said the system sucks and they work too much ###### above us--tax paying US individual citizens. ranting33va.gif

Jesus christ.... Do you not think that's going a LITTLE too far? I know I said the other day that people need to rant occasionally to let of steam etc and that everyone handles things differently, but ffs! Get a grip!

How dare you say that those who did nothing will regret it one day. Who the HELL do you think you are?

Yes, this is a public forum and people can express their opinion in any which way they see fit, but you are really beginning to piss me off mad.gif

Sorry you took it personal. I hope it got you fired up to write a letter or some more if you already haven't. As US Wendy said, "Get angry..." take action. I agree and I know there are many who wished they would have written their letters a lot earlier. My post was a call to action, a call to wake those up who have done nothing. If after reading this you don't agree, so be it. Then you and I have different sides on this issue.

Yep yes.gif
I can't say how many letters or e-mails I've written, too many to count, but I feel like whatever efforts WE have made HAS helped....even in a small way to push USCIS to answer as to WHY things are such a mess with their agency. Complaining to the Ombudsman was a GOOD thing...for all of us.

As for me, he's investigating my case, formally, and I just noticed today my first 'returned' petition was 'touched'. It hasn't been touched since June 26, 2007, the day AFTER it made it back to the U.S. for 'review', so probably by the time they review the first, the second one will finally be approved. I was told there are 85,000 cases waiting for 'review' and they are even LESS of a priority than the K-1's and K-3's are. It's really silly, but I don't make the rules.

As for my Elected Officials, only one has really stepped up to the plate for me, a Democratic House Rep. His Aide is AWESOME!!!! I do believe that her calls to USCIS/VSC played a BIG part in them FINALLY dusting off my case to take a look at the injustice my fiance and I have suffered. There is no doubt in my mind that IF enough of us start hassling them, they will FORCE USCIS to do something more than they are doing now.....which is just to make lame excuses.

About the 6 month timeframe to approve our petitions....well, I hate to say I told you so. It's not nice to rub salt in the wounds of those of you sitting in the same boat with me, but I couldn't help but feel that only a small number of you believed me. For those of you who have been persistent in your efforts, I would bet you will see some kind of payoff.... if nothing more than finally getting accurate information about your case....and that's a rarity around here as you can see.

It's not too late to act....and although I may come off as a bit bitter and serious here, it's not meant to hurt or anger anyone here beyond getting you all to DO something tangible to effect change.
What about the press release for the 'chocolate drop'? Has that effort fizzled out?

P.S.- the reporter from Washington Post did contact USCIS and they told her that the processing of K-1's in 30 days (earlier this year and last year) was not true, so you see what I'm saying?

Peace, W

whistling.gif The 'chocolate drop' is still alive if anyone is interested. Noone has replied to prior messages so I'm trying to get the ducks in a row alone before I suggest we start.

I found out how to send a press release to the AP. It seems we'd need to email CNN and other news org.s unless we paid a distribution service. And the Post reporter said she'd run it if we do it before her story prints.

We still need a one page press release. I'll try to write a draft if nobody volunteers. It's just a catchy headline of our cause, subheading. And a few paragraphs of explanation and what we are going to do.

Again, any suggestions welcome.

PS Maybe it's better that they deny the 30 day processing, being caught in a lie is more of a story than them shrugging it off as cyclical ... good.gif

I don't get it.
  1. Byrun gets an RFE because his attorney screwed up again.
  2. Mirla is told that she only needs to wait a few more weeks which if it is true means that she could be the first of the group to hit the 6 month mark.
  3. There have been only 3 VSC approvals in the last 7 days. 2 of those were expedited mid and late September submittals while early May filers are still waiting.
  4. VSC can't even do the email and hard copy notifications properly when there is a rare approval.
  5. Based on the VSC approval pace over the last 7, 15, 30 & 60 days the best case projection for how long it will take from today to finish each month's petitions is 51 days for May, 132 days for June and 280 days for July.
But we are waving pom poms and yelling gooooooooo VSC? wacko.gif Members are posting that they are sure that so and so will have their approval any day now? Based on what? The power of positive thinking and the pom pom to change VSC policy? goofy.gif

Call me negative. I don't care. When there is good news out of VSC I will be as positive as anyone else. In the meantime the reality is that VSC is doing a terrible job for us and unless they change soon most of us will be waiting a very long time for our approvals. ClockWatch2.gif

Please don't get me wrong. I am hopeful. I hope that Mirla is approved today and I hope that Byrun's RFE does not delay his processing by more than a few days. I hope that VSC gives us back our adjudicators very soon. I hope that May filers are all approved by the end of the month and I hope that June filers follow soon after. I also hope that I am not missing too much as my baby girl grows and learns every day while she is 5,000 miles away. I hope that my fiance's son is not becoming too old for us to form a close father/son relationship as we wait for VSC to finish processing petitions for employment visas. I hope I do not go bankrupt buying airline tickets so that we can be together as often as possible. I hope that Bella does not ask me tonight how much longer it will be because I do not want to see the tears in her eyes when I tell her that it looks like it might be a very long time.

I hope all of these things and many more. Unfortunately I am not sure of any of it because what I observe at VSC is not encouraging.

Hopefully things will improve soon. In the meantime, whenever I see those pom poms I find myself wishing VJ had a machine gun emoticon. devil.gif

This is why is doesn't make sense to me that Cuba gets special treatment. We have hardships too, is VSC cutting any of us a break cause they're nice guys? Or because we deserve it? My fiancee' went through a miscarriage alone.

I don't think waiting alone is a good reason to put Cuba to the front of the line. Apparently, Ghana has a long wait for interviews - Zee didn't get to jump the line.

Let cuba take it like everyone else.

PS I still have a feeling we'll see some approvals popping up before people get to 6 months. I think they won't want the controversy ...

Reporter at the Washington Post said she'd put it in her article if we do it before it goes to print. I also asked her for advice on getting publicity for it. She suggested going to each website, CNN.com, Msnbc.com, etc. and looking for how they suggest contacting them about a story.

So if we do that all we need is a one page press release. Should include a catchy title, subheading, and short (under one page) description of what, why, when and how and to whom. Any volunteers? whistling.gif

After that I suggest we do it soon so we can get it in her article in the Post and maybe send that around with press release.

Any other thoughts? (this means you too Amrssnowangel)

I can call but what is that going to do???? I doubt they lose petitions....
I had an argument with Pat about this fuckin lady on the RFE trick....come on! How can you say that you know anything about the case, that you don't know anything about the 6 months processing time.#######!! Is she a fuckin retard newbie or what?
Pat thinks everybody is bullshitting us, our lawyer, USCIS, everyone....she even said to wait 30 to 45 days...#######!!!

Mirla, I think by 'service inquiry' they mean call back when you are outside of their bs 6 month window.
If I were you I'd try to get your hubbie to call his congressman and tell him/her that he busts his a$$ for this country as a firefighter and he has to wait so long just to get his papers looked at? Maybe his congressperson will lean on them a little ... mad.gif

Yeah but he says that our chances of being heard are one in a million and that is like barking up the wrong tree....Try to make him understand.....I can't.

I would agree if he wasn't a fireman in NYC right? Anyway no sense stressing him about it and letting VSC cause more trouble innocent.gif

Anywhoo ... one thing we can all agree on i think is channeling our negatives into a positive by taking action. So i'm still trying to figure out how to do a press release about the chocolates and reach who we want to reach with it. A couple of sites offer a distribution service, one is $350 no0pb.gif , one is $30 but may not do very much, I don't know. Writing the press release will probably be pretty easy, I'm sure someone here or as a collective we can come up with a one page 'catchy' story to send out. I'm just trying to figure out a way to successfully get it out there so it has a reasonable chance to succeed.

If anyone has any ideas, chime helpsmilie.gif in, I'll keep surfing ...

So Bill, tell me...why CANT i stay [positive...out of those here...you'd think I'd have the RIGHT to be negative...

Sorry if I offended anyone or you Bill. I just sometimes dont understand why you can't just be positive. We are all realistic here..we KNOW the wait times we are looking at. Just TRY for once to see the glass as half full and NOT half empty.

You have every right to be positive, and I don't think Bill was telling you to be negative. But he and others have every right to be negative or realistic or however people choose to see it, as much as every other person has a right to be positive. I'm not trying to attack you personally, amrssnowangel, I'm just trying to say that there are people on this board with different needs. Personally, I find it hard to listen to the constant cheering for VSC when the pace is barely moving... but I wouldn't want to discourage people from doing that or trying to be positive about it because that is what they need to do. I just read on and try to take from it what I can.

...I appreciate the realism from those presenting it in our thread...the May folks represent the most senior members in the thread and have suffered the longest. If the baby is ugly, it's an ugly baby no matter how you look at it. VSC is an ugly baby. Approving 1 person in how long isn't such great service to us...there is no rationalization that helps our situation. They (USCIS as an entity) is failing us--dishing out terrible service to US citizens is a disgrace to the US. On top of that, this process is for many of our loved ones, their first impression of our country. What an awful representation...disgusting actually.

LOL, wonderful analogy.

I was certainly not trying to chase anybody from our thread, but I am just as sick of hearing people root for VSC as they are of hearing me criticize them. When it is time for me to root and be happy I will...that day won't come until VSC proves to me that they are treating us reasonably and timely. I am not only down on them because I have been waiting since May, but I am also considering the impact this will have and is having on the July, August, etc etc filers until they get their ####### together. I know that most of us complaining the loudest are also doing all we can do outside of VJs to influence a positive change; writing congressmen in and out of our states, writing USCIS and DHS officials, media, etc, etc. We need to channel all our energy into turning the USCIS negative trend around and not use it to cheer for them while they give us atrocious service. I agree to be hopeful that eventually it will come, but I see nothing wrong with sharing our frustration and teaming to influence positive change.

I actually wish amrssnowangel the best with her loved one and hope they are together sooner rather than later.

I think it's an ugly baby personally, but IMO there is a little men are from mars women are from venus thing going on here... i.e., seems women like the cheering on vsc? men a little more demanding?
