On a down note it's clear we have the lowest priority. But at least we're getting better info, maybe the ombudsman suggested letting people know what week they are working on after the letters Still, I don't see a lot of evidence they're working on NOA2 s at all. Take all this with a grain of salt because like I said, I got the distinct impression that he was an idiot. You may be new but I nominate you for the position of head interrogator! I like the way you handle a public servant! He may be an idiot but what he told you is very consistent with my delay theory so I kind of like the guy! Let's hope he is right. As we are citizens of this country and tax payers, we deserve better treatment than their current priority. I really wanted to see all VJers opinion on this. Finally, someone besides me heard about this avalanche of greencard applications from current H1B holders. It was unprecedented in that the number of apps weren't limited as they have always been. So EVERY H1B holder waiting for a greencard swamped USCIS until the deadline. Then they whined and sent flowers and the deadline was extended to August 12. My guess is that could keep them busy and apparently they made these apps the priority. Can you tell? Anyway, I love the chocolates idea! Tell me about it its been 96 days for me know and I have done this before in 2004 same time frame and was apporoved in 22 days this is getting out of had. Its only a 90 day visa and after that we have to do it all over again what BS. We have millions of people walking over our borders and us tax paying US citizens cant even get a simple K-1 visa which was ment to be faster to help loved ones be together Sorry just venting. And yes - I can TOTALLY understand how you feel to get that albatross from around your neck! I know that I've read of at least two people who that has happened to - I believe LisaD is one of them. No idea - but I have noticed its gradual slowdown over the past month or so -- even before they took on some Texas and Nebraska filers. They used to be lightning fast, and while I expected some slowdown with the new filers, I didn't expect it to hit this soon (or even before the fee increase). Perhaps its something as simple as staff being on summer vacations? I know LisaD and StillthePrettiest both were transferred to CSC but that was before the new processing centers went 'officially' into effect. I haven't seen that happen to anyone that filed at VSC after July 30. I know I read in a thread *somewhere* that VSC were prioritzing other types of petitions for awhile, but that they'd be back up to speed mid-July. Obviously that hasn't happened. Oh I wish I could remember where I read that! So, there's MY senior moment!!! Earlier in this thread a post mentions a VSC statement about catching up on H1B, i think, until July 27. This date had been moved back once or twice also. In addition, there recently was a special window opened for current H1B holders to apply for greencards. Apparently this is usually very limited and this opened the flood gates and they reopened this window again until August 12. Ok Im concerned.....If we take the June and July approvals sooo far...the average is ONE approval for every 3.5 days. At THIS rate...based on my being number 58 on the list...it would take them 203 days to get to MY petition. WHAT is going on??? I know they slowed down...but 1 every 3.5 days isn't acceptable.....ANYONE have ANY clues WHEN they may start to actually work on K1's again????? This is depressing me. I got a number and called a knowledgeable staffer who said sometimes they pull adjudicators off one type of case to address another type of case. There is no first come, first served policy; it's ad hoc I guess based on where they perceive a backlog or what USCIS' priority is. She didn't seem eager to help remedy the unfair aspect of it, like it was out of her control (don't senators write laws?). I know they have recently been bombarded with current H1B visa holders who have been given a special window to apply for greencards. Apparently, the number of these available is usually limited. I think this window was recently closed then reopened until Aug 12 when they complained. Some would be applicants even sent flowers to the head of USCIS. Sasha and Jason While I am happy for you as a fellow Virginian, I can't help but wonder why yours got there two days before mine, and your check has already been cashed and your NOA1 received, ...And I haven't seen anything In my case it took 5 or 6 days to cash the check and mail the noa1. so give it a couple of days and see if your check is cashed. that's usually your first indication that they accepted your forms for processing. Really, I am soooooooooooo disgusted with USCIS and their cohorts--> these embassies under DOS. They really couldn't care less about us; we are nothing but nameless, faceless numbers to these people. I really don't understand why we don't organize and protest or something. If the H1-B visa people can get action, why can't we? More and more delays, lies and needless red tape. You need a friggin' degree to navigate the immigration maze....dot your 'i's and cross your 't's and still you may get tripped up....and by 'tripping' us up, do they realize they forever alter the course of our lives? No humanity and no compassion....just the facts, the rules, policy and regulation. Okay, now they are charging more money for substandard services and we have no choice but to pay them and wait? I am so ready to leave the U.S. and make a life elsewhere. Yes, I know, I know-->"the grass is always greener.......". Someone please talk some sense into me. I don't blame you for being burned out on the process, once through it is bad enough! It seems unfair to me that apparently they dropped everything (our petitions) for these H1B visas. Should be first come, first served, but businesses come first nowadays ($$$). FYI, not sure who your senator is, but I wrote an email to Senator Cardin (i live near baltimore) about my first come, first served idea and he wrote a nice letter offering to look into my petition. Uggggh I was so expecting some April/early May approvals today, especially after those we had last week. By the way, congratulations to everyone who got approved! Just wondering, once you're approved, how long are you going to wait to start gathering the documents to send to your fiance (I-134, pay stubs, employer letter, letter of intent, etc.)? I was thinking to wait until he received packet 3 so they would all be dated closer to the interview. What do you guys think? Good luck to everyone. Keep busy , it will help the time pass quicker. Hey everyone...well im one of the May filers myself that's pulling hishairs out stressed out because i have no NOA2 yet...i sent out the i129f on may 18th , they got it the 24th...sent it to me the 28th ...i got around the 30th...and nothing yet!!!!!!!! Why so long for the NOA2... Earlier in the thread it says VSC is probably processing an overlaod of H1 visas, maybe til 7/27. And there are still I129f's from april waiting in line. Keep busy , it will help the time pass quicker. i gathered all my documents, had the I-134 notarized and gave them to my fiancee' when I visited. I didn't want the expense, hassle, risk of mailing to her country (philippines). It takes a while too to make sure you give them absolutely everything they may want (i even threw in copy of home appraisal since i was having it done already). I also kept a notarized copy in case someone here wants to see it. VJ site has a tip that says get three notarized copies of I-134 so every party will have one. I cut her off and said website says 6 months and dozens of July filers approved on vj. Once she said that I didn't need to hear another word out of her mouth so I pointed out those stats, said have a nice day and hung up. I'll try the RFE trick tomorrow and at least try to change the address. The customer service rep claimed they don't do that at vsc. Why do they keep telling us these things we know are not true? There doesn't seem to be any help for us. Even my senator's staffer seemed to blow me off and just get me that note where it says it is with an adjudicator. Wow, big help, customer service clowns can tell me that! I'm doing the ombudsman complaint but that will probably only help a little to let him know about problems in general and not help my specific case. Oh well, I wonder when they will change the May 19 date? Maybe they'll just reuse it come next may:( they are not going to change that number anytime soon because then we will have a way to get to them......I agree we are stuck.....I also will send a form to the ombudsman.......but we are get fvcked...sorry for my french I called using rfe trick and the officer shows an update from december 14! and it's still 6 months but not on the website?!
