Hi! I am not sure if this is what your refering to or not but Mai had to go to a seminar. It was 1 day thing they had her do when she went to renew her passport with her new last name. It was a guidance & counseling thing by commission on filipinos over seas. I guess the dept of foreign affairs will pick up on it and require it if she goes to change her passport. She had to take supporting documents like her birth certificate to the seminar. The sticker she supposedly gets for that needs to be presented at the airport before she can leave the Phils. Sounds pretty lame to me, a good way to make money off Americans taking a spouse back to the US. I'd be curious to see what others have to say about all this.

Asia: East and PacificLodging in Manila

Just thought we'd mention this for anyone seeking a place to stay in Manila before the interview.

We are staying in the Boulevard Mansion which is on Roxas right accross from the embassy. We're staying a month and paying 25,000php. It is fairly quiet considering everything that goes on around here. We can't hear the clubs that line the streets below. The mall is a short walk or very brief taxi ride up the street. We'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Manila. We've been here a week already and have no complaints at all. The service is good, the room is clean and comfy and the air conditioner works great.

Would you be kind enough to give me their contact details? Thanks!

Mae

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Packet 1 and delivery concerns

Oops I think Ken didn't notice it's the I-130 you are talking about. Your wife will receive the DS-3032 allowing her to appoint an agent to receive visa bill and application. And are you still living in PI with her? The petitioner usually receives the AOS bill and I-864 documents, but uf tiy are using an attorney I'm not sure how that works. I haven't gotten to that point myself yet so I'm not completely sure of the procedures but yes there is a packet your wife will receive from the NVC. I think it usually takes about 2 weeks but being it's going to the Philippines it might take longer.

Yes, I am still in Cebu with her. I am just having someone check and send my mail to a relative while I am away here. We are anxiously awaiting that packet :P

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Packet 1 and delivery concerns

Hi. My wife lived in an area in Cebu Philippines with no number assignment for the house. It is not in the city and I am concerned of how they will receive the packet from NVC? Or if anyone else has similar circumstances?

Also, what is the average time to receive the first packet from NVC after the I-130 was sent to them?

Thanks so much.

Orimai

Orimai, First you will not receive any packages from the NVC. NVC forwards your case to the Embassy and the Embassy will send a letter to your finacee. There is no packet 1 from Manila, just the letter letting you know when you case was received. According to the timeline averages, the interview will be scheduled approx 120 days after the Embasy receives the case. We got our letter of 30 Oct and the Embassy received our case on 11 Oct.
The packet 4 has been ht and miss with members here. Some receiving it prior to their interview and soem not. Maybe some of the member that have already received their packet 4 can weigh in on how long after the letter did they receive the packet 4.
I can only assume if your fiancee is currently receiving mail at her residence, the post man already knows where it is at? Ken

Well I was just concerned because its coming under her new last name and not her maiden name I guess. We were told by the FastK3 lawyers that we would receive a packet of stuff from NVC to fill out and then send back to them. I guess thats not true? What is this packet they are refering to? So we are just waiting for the interview date now? No further things to process after I-130 approval? (besides wifes interview materials)? Thanks again.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Arrival of Interview
Ok I am confused. Here is a reply I received today from NVC.......

Dear Sir/Madam:
Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).
A packet containing the Immigrant Visa Processing Fee Bill has been sent to the designated agent or attorney of record. The payment due amount listed on the fee bill must be paid according to the instructions before the DS-230 form will be sent.
The NVC is waiting for form I-864 (Affidavit of Support) to be completed by the petitioner.

We already paid and they received the $70 aswell as the Choice of Agent. The IV bill sounds like it's already on it's way, but we have not submited the AOS paperwork. As a matter of fact, I thought the AOS was taken to the interview, not sent to NVC???? And I was under the impression the DS-230 packet was\is the IV Fee bill packet. Ugh.

This is a quick update. I was just able to reach the NVC and they said the AOS fee bill (I think thats right? 380 Dollars I believe) has been generated so we are waiting on that. Also they said they are waiting to receive my AOS forms. I wrote my lawyer because I wanted to know if we should send those in. Still no reply. Should I send in all my AOS paperwork now? Even before I send in this fee? Any issues with any of this?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Arrival of Interview
Hi everyone, we are both really tired. Just got back from Bohol beach club. We had sent in the DS-3032 and choice of agent (70$ fee etc) to NVC 2 weeks ago. What is next for us on this path and when about do most people expect an interview date from this position in the rung? Money is running out for me being in the Philippines, the pressure is on. Sorry for not reading through other posts to find an answer.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)DS230
My lawyer said NVC now requires the AOS to be sent to them and also included at the embassy during the interview. Supposedly started last month.

Also, the DS230 (IV Application), does it add more time to wait during all this headache? Or does it usually make no real difference in the process?

Whats the average time for someone to get an interview after they receive that finally?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Urgent Matter

from the instructions for the I-864;

"If you provide a photocopy of your tax return(s), you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your return(s). Do not include copies of these Forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your return(s) rather than a photocopy."

Ok from what I gather that is good news since I am getting a transcript, sounds like thats all I need.

Orimai, just a suggestion, but if you had someone prepare your taxes for you ie; a private CPA or a branch firm like H&R Block. I would try ringing them and explaining the situation. They can either send a copy of your W-2's or have them picked up by a trusted relative or friend. Some places will do this for you especially if your a regular client. I would say that it should be a copy of your W-2 as I sent my tax return and was given an RFE. When I asked why I was given the RFE for my W-2 the NVC stated that since I was using a joint sponsor I had to furnish W-2's for the last tax year along with the return. It doesnt make sense, I know, considering the joint sponsor more than covers the need, but that is why I was delayed. Just hope to help you out and not let you get caught up in further delays. Good luck and I hope things go smoothly for you.

Sherry

Well IRS only has tax information for 2004 and 2002. Part of 05 I spent traveling but IRS doesnt have any tax info for me for some reason the rest of 05. They dont have W2's at all. I do have some W2's from 05 and 04 at home in the US, but I dont want to go home at all costs. I assume I can leave it as unemployed in 05? 2006 I have been in Cebu. I ordered a transcript from the IRS today, I believe that is all they need, as long as I enter the information on the I-864 as it appears on the transcript?

This confuses me, this whole situation. I dont want to get any of it wrong. But only with the transcript I should be ok right? And the amounts shown on it. The rest of the time I can leave as unemployed, however I did work part of 05 before traveling. IRS just doesnt have any info for some reason and I do have THOSE 05 W2's and 04 W2's in the US. I just dont want to go home to retreive them. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yeah your absolutely right and even hours seem to take that long at times. One of them is now with this delay. We are definately going for the CR1. The rep at fastk3 is the one who submited our K3 to Chicago then. *sigh* saying whatever we get we go with. At the rate they are handling our case (fastk3) the K3 will be done before the CR1. *grin*

Well I had sent fastk3 all my tax information and letter etc. But they claim I never sent it, which means they lost\misplaced it all. It came to them in my I-130 packet initially so I know they received it. I really dont want to send them it again. As far as the I-864 goes, they are making me fill it out, which, I hired them to do all document prep etc. sigh.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Urgent Matter
Greetings all. I was told by my lawyers at FASTK3.COM that they lost any tax information I had sent them early on. Currently I am at the stage where I need to send in my IV Fee bill and my I-864 AOS form for myself and co sponsor. Here is my dilema:

I am in Cebu with my wife. I do not want to leave for various reasons everyone here can understand. Any tax information I have is back in the United States without possibility of anyone able to aquire my information for me. I have no tax data for the year because I have been in Cebu pretty much all year. I have little to no tax data for the subsiquent two years (well under min requirements to sponsor) for the prior 2 years because I had spent the time traveling.

I DONT WANT TO GO HOME! Do I have to go back to the US even just to get the little information I have? My co sponsor is well qualified to co sponsor. My lawyer at FASTK3.COM wants me to fill out the I-864 and send it with the co sponsor to the NVC with my tax information. What do I do? At all costs I want to remain here with my wife. I am almost in a panic and livid with FASTK3.COM.

Thank you.
