Thanks Amy drive safely... you know my friend lives in Colorado from VJ her husband just got here from Morocco too... Hubby and I are planning to go down there in Spring to visit.

So question....to anyone that might know ... hubby has a connecting flight in JFK and thanks to CHD now know it will be considered his POE... will 3 hours be enough time between flights?

Also, once he is here do I go right into the SS office and do we submit an application?

Rajaa- I came home thru JFK my last time to Jordan,... IT STUNK! AND I AM A CITIZEN!!! Actually I think I had about three hours, but they only had two lines open for citizens, and like 6 for immigrants! -- I barely made my check in, but I switched airlines too??? MAYBE that made a difference?Since they do it so often, it should be smooth, but the airport itsself is REALLY messed up! Make sure he is ok with ASKING for HELP finding his way around! I had to go down an elevator after I found my bags, and then recheck them at another counter! Don't even get me started! In any case, I am sure his experience will be just fine, if he could get more time @ the airport tho it might be good.. a longer layover, you know! In any case- I don't know about the soc. sec thing either, that was one question I had too, I believe he should get a welcome letter from the POE or something like that... maybe from the uscis??? In any case, I have the same question??? I hope it goes smoothly for you and he gets here with out a hitch! Good luck!?!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEZ form DS 3032
Hi all! Thought I'd drop a line to feed this forum a little bit. I just paid my AOS filing fee, waiting for the reciept and barcode to generate... HOWEVER along with the payment for processing, we need to be sending in the form DS 3032. The beneficiary can do this via email now!!! It is as simple as them logging in to their personal email account, using your NVC case # as the subject line, putting the beneficiary's full name and dob, petitioners full name and dob, (I had him add the NVC case # again) and a short letter saying something to the effect of ... Dear sir or maddame, Please send any and all correspondance regarding my case to my appointed agent... (full name of agent), (address of agent), (email of agent) and (contact phone#) -- Please accept this email as a substitute to form DS 3032. Sincerely, (beneficiary's name) and date. Its that simple. They told me at NVC that with this info in an email, they can mark it for your case, and from there the IV bill will be produced and sent to the petitioner. You must be specific with whom the correspondance should be going to FULL NAME OF AGENT. Its easiest if it is sent to you or someone in the US, then they can fwd it on to their spouse... That way they are more certain to get all the info! Hope this helps guys! I am still a newbie here, but am figuring things out with help from people like Melinda and Jackie!!! Thanks girls! Good luck to us all and we'll catch ya later!--- Amy

Oh gosh I hope not! star_smile.gif --No, you shouldn't need to. It is already logged in their system when it says "PAID", but keep a copy of it for your records! All the DS 3032 does is generate the ability to pay the $400 IV bill.. so you can fill out biographical info.. and send in copies of everything else too! (times two!) You'll see, but your wife will get everything in the mail instead of you once you name her as your agent. YOu can fill out the forms all online and print them, then send them with the requested info! Just went thru this all myself Yasser--IF your wife lives in the US, and you are the one out of the country- they strongly suggest that you put her(or someone within the US) as your agent-since they are pretty certain mail has passed between the two of you! My husband got those forms three weeks after they sent them out!--You can speed up the process by sending an email to the NVC--

You yourself sends an email to the NVC, with your case # listed in the subject line.. in the beginning of your email, you need your full name, date of birth, and your spouses full name and date of birth. Say something to the effect of..."I am ___________, please send all correspondence in regards to our case to my wife__________________, at the following address:(list address and phone number with area code!).. Please accept this email in place of form DS 3032.

Close it however you please, but be sure to type your name at the closing as well! -- This worked for us! I am sure it will work for you too!-- Good luck! I'm already tired of this process-- I am ready for my husband to be here!!!! Good luck!-Amy

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHad the interview, documents requested
QUOTE (ktindi @ Nov 13 2008, 03:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello all

My husband had his interview and they sent him away wanting more documents. The letter for his interview stated that all "original" police certificates were in their posession, but the interviewer stated it was missing. So, ok, he can get a new one in Istanbul for that time period. The interviewer also requested affidavit of support (I-864)(notarized I-134) we must have an original document. we cannot accept faxes or photocopy. I had sent the original of my I 864EZ with our I 130 application with all supporting financial documents. He took photocopies of all that with him to the interview.

So my question is ... Do I fill out a new I 864EZ and have it notorized with all my financial proofs and then Fed Ex to him to forward on to the Embassy in Ankara? I do qualify for the EZ form. Or is the interviewer wanting different forms than I had originally submitted? I have a new letter from my employer stating how long I've been employed and my annual salary. I am way above the guidelines.

They have everything they could possibly need. All copies of my plane tickets, hotels, etc.

The interviewer is also asking that I photocopy all stamps in my passport, proving that I was in Turkey.

I'm so confused and we just want this whole thing over. I cannot believe how frustrating this all is.

Can someone please shed some light on this for me? I want to be sure I am sending the right documents.

For starters... As long as you meet the requirements for the I 864EZ then yes, fill out another one- get it notarized, and send with your proofs like you said. That is the easiest way to get them an original- if they don't have it and things haven't changed it shouldn't be that hard(WISH I COULD HAVE FILLED OUT THE EZ FORM!) Also send in the letter from your employer.. Its a good idea!

You should have photo copied your whole passport for the original paperwork anyways, but since they don't seem to have it- get it to them!

I don't remember the I-134- I believe it was with your original submission to the USCIS? Crazy that so much is missing and you already sent it- I made copies of EVERYTHING and enclosed them with our final posting so that the originals can be returned to my husband upon interview! Good luck and God speed! I hope it all goes a lil smoother for you from here! I can't imagine waiting all that time for an interview and then leaving empty handed! inshAllah it will not happen to us!-- I thought I was nervous before!!! Now its getting worse! AHHHHH! OK- hope that this all helped. I have not been there and hope not to be, but This is what I would do in your situation!--Talk to you later!-Amy

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresemailing DS3032?
QUOTE (ruby_jade @ Nov 27 2008, 06:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i havent receive a copy from NVC, i downloaded the forms here and im going to mail it to them now, is it ok if i download the choice of agent and send it to them??

You can always download and send things into them... but if it is just the DO3032, if you have a reciept number from the USCIS, then you can use that and ask at NVC if they got it-- my husband emailed it to them, and it took them a week to get back to him! Hope that helps! Happy Thanksgiving!

why not take pictures of you both getting married, be it the judge be it where ever...I would supply photos to show your faces and how happy you are...thats just me because YOU have to prove its bona fide and pictures speak a thousand words

We'll take as many photos as possible. I just want to know if GUZ will frown on not having the family's blessing.

moving this to CR-1 forum

btw.. your profile says K-1 wink.gif

good luck!

thanks. Yes, I know it said K-1. That's what our visa was initially (the one that was approved). I've changed it to CR-1.

Oddly enough, we didn't take but 2 photos on our wedding day- they were with hubby's cell phone! Only one of his brothers and his close friend were witness to our marriage, HOWEVER his family did throw us a "reception" two days after we married, as that was their Friday... Off-Topic2.gif I would have someone, ANYONE take photos for you at the ceremony esp if her family is not supportive! If they can see how happy you are, your chances are better, I wouldn't tell them that her family isn't supportive, unless directly asked!

I am not an expert, I am still anxiously awaiting NVC to finish our case and sent to his embassy... so you have the advice I have been given too-- MANY MANY PHOTOS, the rest is very good, but PHOTOS are what they seem to base their decisions on!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresChecking NVC's Official Requirements Before Sending Documents
Yeppers-- and when they say they want the ORIGINAL marriage certificate-THAT REALLY DOES MEAN IN THE NATIVE LANGUAGE OF YOUR SPOUSE! -I now have sent in both actually-because I got an RFE with our English certified version! If they have the certified English version you don't need a translation either!--Good luck and God speed!-Amy

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCivil Documents for NVC Processing
WaitingforRakesh is 100% correct! You really should send in original documents...or a duplicate that originated in the country you are working through, like a US birth certificate- It is always a good idea to have 2 "originals" ,HOWEVER, they want the ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE COUNTRY WHERE THE INTERVIW WILL TAKE PLACE. I sent in first, only the ENGLISH version, and needed to have hubby send me the ORIGINAL Arabic one, because it got us an RFE! Be Cautious and send as many originals as possible!!!

The notary thing is really like Waiting said... for proof that you are the person that signed said document! Hope that didn't confuse matters!--good luck!-Amy

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGoing to see hubby after filing i130...don't know whether it's a good idea?
YOur own pobox is a very good idea.. Just keep in mind that you must keep up residency here! Otherwise you might have issues with the whole process. It is a good idea for you go see your spouse as much as possible, but be very careful! It is a questionable time for an American woman-man-family to be traveling in this area! Keep your husband at your side ALL the time! Be safe adn let keep us posted! We'll be praying for you!

QUOTE (MumtazG38 @ Dec 27 2008, 08:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I just went to the Wiki and checked out LingChe's shortcuts and they were EXTREMELY helpful....but I still have one question, what if I want/need to travel to Pakistan to spend some time with my husband during this procedure? I need to see him so that we can take pictures to prove we're still together and also possibly open a joint account and live together for a month or two in order to fit the on-going marital relationship/bonifide marriage requirements. With so much to do....all the tedious work...filing...mailing...getting mail.....how would I leave for Pakistan for a month or two without basically putting the whole cr1 process on hold? What if I missed any noa's or rfe's or any other important things...what if they arrive sooner to my home address? would there be any way I could get those things mailed to my address in Paki for the time ill be there for? Would my going to Paki make things possibly go slower or take longer? Couldn't I just use Pakistan address so that everything can be mailed back to me at that address somehow?

I will tell you this... I filed my I-130 at the very end of June, it had arrived by July 3. I went BACK to Jordan at the end of July to attend some inlaws weddings... THE DAY AFTER I LEFT, I got the first NOA.. Then managed to miss out on the K-1 or is it K-3 because I wasn't here to send in the I-129F packet immediately! I sent it once i got home, and got it back a week later saying that our chances of using that option were out the window because the I-130 had been approved. So just be careful-- things take so long to get overseas... Case in point- I sent a letter with some photo cds to my husband the middle of October, he did not get them until Christmas Eve!!!

Once you have filed your I-129f, it shouldn't be a big deal to go for a visit... I would advise you to have as much ready for your AOS as possible before you go, and have someone here to check your mail for you and be ready to send whatever you might get via DHL, or another courrier! Then your process isn't being delayed more than the 2 weeks it takes for the courrier to get things back to you and then back to the NVC! Good luck on your journey!--Amy

Thanks! I will look into fixing that!?! Still haven't figured out all of the specs on the website yet, but I'm getting there! THanks for adding me, the only thing I would ask you to look at is my approval didn't happen 3 days after filing, but closer to 31. Thanks! Talk to you soon- I like checking out your spreadsheet as well, gives me an idea here and there! Thanks again-Amy

Whisper2me,

Thank you very much to keeping up-to date this addictive spreadsheet. I just got transfered to CSC on Aug 25. But got e-mail on Aug 26th.

My name is "Divyesiddhi" in spreadsheet.

We all appreciate your work....Hope you also get approval soon.

lol yes it is addictive and you're very welcome. I had added you and tracked your name through your timeline already. I got caught before duplicating dates since there are so many couples in here so when dates start to look too similiar, I check it out.

ARALB, I have added you to spreadsheet now that you are IR1/CR1 but please also change your profile status from K3 to IR1/CR1 so it doesn't confuse others.

It looks like Californian filers aren't suffering at all with transfers so.....its all good.

Hi! Amy here== Was just looking over your time line spread sheet, and didn't see our name:( I did file I-129f, but it was returned to me because the I-130 was approved. -please see my timeline- I love the idea of knowing about when our file will come up for approval! I am praying things keep moving along quickly, I about lost hope, and almost started a rat race for myself and my husband! In any case, we'd love to be added to this timeline, and included in any future posts that may come up wiht it all! Thanks for keeping us all informed-sometimes the lingo here confuses those of us that are newbies! I am sure EVENTUALLY if you look at it long enough, you pick it all up! Thanks again--Talk to you later!--Amyh

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresinterview schedule
QUOTE (kace @ Jan 10 2009, 08:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
does anyone know if we can call the us embassy to set the interview for cr1 or do we need to wait for NVC to set the date? tnx for any info...!

If your case is "complete" @ NVC, they should be scheduling your interview date within the next couple of months... you can keep calling them and reminding them nicely that you are there waiting, and I think it is 8 weeks after case complete date, you can call and discuss the delay in your interview... I have found the nicer I am to the operators on the other end, the more willing they are to give me info! Take care and Good Luck!
