UPDATE.................wow, my senators office has done such a super job in helping us understand and sort thru this mess as well as getting a quick response....Casa sent an email....some of it as follows.....The visa has not been denied. Rather, Mr. ****** case was returned to the Department of Homeland Security's Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on February **, 2010 for further review......The decision to send the file back was not made because of confusion about her last name. You can let your constituent know that two different officers agreed that the case warranted additional review by the Department of Homeland Security.

Well at least we know it's not an intent to revoke i guess...looks like we're in for a wait...#######!!!!!!!!

Save that email. That is great that they dispelled one theory but I just wish for you they would have just finished their sentence.
Good luck on the rest of your journey.

lots of emails, video chats, print outs of video chats, phone bills from both of us, emails from my family to my husband, pictures....the CO barely glanced at any of this from what my husband tells me....he had the same CO interview him that interviewed him back in June..he applied for a tourist visa in June to come be with me for my surgery and was denied by this same man who told him he was sorry but to wait for his CR-1 visa....this whole process is utterly ridiculious!!!!
we are preparing to take my life insurance, and written statements from his side of the family stating approval of relationship and how long they have known we are together..things like that

Those are good. Did you get clearance to go with him next week?

yes i contacted my state rep. immediately and they managed to get us a swift reply...i am very grateful and hopefully we will have a better outcome...the CO questioned my husband for over an hour so it will be difficult to remember all but we will try to review as much as possible...the CO that interviewed him was the same one who denied his tourist visa back in june when my husband wanted to come to be with me for my surgery...

Over an hour? Wow! How was his demeanor?

I was in the US Consulate on 1/14 and overheard a portion of a immigrant visa interview. The CO was a slim, young white guy no more than 25 with a short light brown hair cut. He was assisted by a local Moroccan but the SO of the USC spoke perfect English. The CO told him, "Listen we think all marriages between Moroccans and Americans are based on fraud. So hey". I thought I was going to die.

The SO held his composure and insisted he loved his wife. The CO asked him what was the name of his wife's favorite tv show(duh how would anyone prove honesty here?) and he when he told him, Stargate SG1 the CO told him he never heard of it. Living here in Morocco it only comes on every other hour on Fox Series. LOL So I now he was lying.
After an hour he told the SO that he was granting him a visa and that they would call him within 2 weeks. I literally walked out the door with the SO and he was cursing a storm in Arabic under his breath but his demeanor in front of the CO was polite and contrite.
At one point in the interview the CO asked me to tell him never mind, as the SO was trying to go to his seat and get photos. It was empty in the Consulate so even with the telephone you could hear EVERY word of the convo.

OMG! my husband too got the same respond treated him unfairly and said they were sending it back to the USCIS with no good valid reason. We need aswell to know where we go from here what to do.....

Yes, I read your posting and I sent you a message.

Did you read the pinned thread? If possible try to get your husband to tell you every word that was said between him and the CO. Every word.
The road ahead for both of you is very hard but it is not impossible to overcome. Kiyah is good source of info here on VJ. She will offer you very sound advice. Take heed.

Did one of you get your elected official to call the CO on your behalf and get you second interview for next week? Who ever did that was very lucky and the other one should follow suit.

In the mean time try to calm down (hard I know) and get ALL the info from your SO.

yes..its a 221g but it states that they are returning petition and application back to uscis...i am here in casa now with hubby...i called my congressmen right away yesterday and they called the consulate right away...the consulate then called my hubby about an hour later and told him to come back next week..there was nothing on the form to say why they denied it...from what hubby tells me the CO was asking another CO what to do...he was going to put us in ap until he spoke to the other CO

Does the 221(g) say it is being returned with a request that USCIS revoke or review the petition. I agree the second interview is a miracle. Someone else posted today about their husband being denied yesterday in Casa as well.

Like the other poster said review questions they asked your husband and his answers and demeanor. All of them. What evidence did he take? Take more next week.

Middle East and North AfricaNeed advice abt transportation from Mohammed V airport

I think we're gonna get a few of his aunts to help... I don't think he totally realizes the sheer volume of luggage involved, and I'm certain he doesn't understand what it's like to travel with a baby..

By commune I did not mean a caravan of help. LOL. I meant the big trucks that move you stuff. Your husband will have to book one the day before. Just get the next to smallest one or go the 2 taxi route. May end up being the same price.

My girlfriend here just suggested that you ask your husband to get a small commune from his city to bring your stuff.

What city are you going to? Unless you can find a personal friend who has a SUV or van you will have to take 2 taxi's. Have your husband bring a friend with him to the airport that way someone can ride with some of your things while you and your husband ride together.

I had to do that once.

Middle East and North AfricaHello. new member and need help!

Hello everyone:

I am an American and I am going to Morocco to marry my Moroccan boyfriend this year. Can anyone tell me how much it will cost for the following things:

1 - To obtain a medical certificate of good health from a doctor in Morocco.

2 - To have all documents translated to Arabic.

3 - To have all documents certify by the Government of Morocco.

Any information that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hazel

Congrats on your engagement. I live in Morocco and the cost of medical can range from $200Dh ( w/o lab work) to $1700 Dh with lab work. To have documents translated cost $200 Dh for each paper but you can haggle this price. I am looking at my marriage certificate and I see the 2 $20Dh stamps on it but I can not remember how much the process cost. My husband says about $2500 DH but he is NOT sure.

Good luck.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresRegister Marriage Abroad with US
I got married in Morocco and when I came back to the New Jersey (my home State) I called the Moroccan Consulate in NYC and then took my Moroccan marriage certificate there. They translated it into English and certified it. I then used that to get a new SS card and to change my name on my drivers license.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresneed the right advice

i have relationship with an American woman she visit me from a year and we spend 2 months 2gether when she back to the states we were think to start k1 but she got problem now she will come again to egypt and we will get married and she will live with me do u think we will get a chance to travel 2gether if she stay with me a six months or she should travel to the states 1st then me follow her
plz i need honest clear advice
with love and respect to all of u

Are you just in a relationship or is this your fiance? She must be your fiance in order to file a K-1 petition. If she meets the guidelines of the US Consulate in Egypt then can file a I-130 petition in Egypt. If the temporary move to Egypt poses no hardship to her and if you both want to go that route then you can certainly do that. She can also marry, leave Egypt and file the I-130 from the US. And of course you can define your relationship as engaged and file the K-1 from the US.
