Throughout the process from filing to NOA2, Stephen was anxious and complained about the process "being out of his control" He was very anxious the morning he received all the documents he needed from me for Packet 3 ... so anxious that he called and woke me very early so we could go through it all and he could mail it off!!! After having sent Packet 4, I emailed the embassy to check on the status and got a reply with the interview date .... I immediately got anxious/stressed because it was only 1 month away!!! Called him a few minutes later and he was like "piece of cake" .... he's been stressing about the interview for months, then soon as we got the date, his thoughts went to "Everything is going to be OK and we'll be together in the same place for good" Now, I'm not saying that's a bad thought to have, not at all, but he did a complete 360 about that!!! I still appear more nervous than he does .... although knowing him, when I land in Frankfurt on the 11th, he'll be a wreck and not sleep for the next 2 nights awaiting the interview ..... That's probably why they have the name "Wait Forever" ... it would appear to me that they have a negative energy, and rather than make the best of a painful situation, they'd prefer to bash the little bits of happiness people do have. No one has to wait forever ... just have to have some patience and realize the process may not be what we want, but it is out of our control. Let's not let the bitterness of one take away the little bits of joy that our found in each step of this process. Unfortunately it's not split down the middle of the country about who gets to file where. It's not like they drew a line down the US and split it evenly. Just because a petitioner lives in a specific state that allowed them to file at the VSC should have no bearing on the individuals involved. It wasn't our choice what center we filed at, it's just the way it is. And as far as I recall, all of us, regardless of what center we filed at, are being supportive of each other, because we are all on the same journey. Does it make me happy that VSC processes faster, no not, really. Because I've built friendships here with people who have filed at both, and it breaks my heart to see CSC people waiting longer and longer. You know, it's crazy reading these threads now .... months ago we were all stressed & hoping the process would see us through, and now most of us are anxiously awaiting interview, or recently had them, etc. Stephen and I just saw each other this past week while I was in the UK on business, and I'm flying to Germany to goto the interview and help him get things packed up, etc. in less than 2 weeks. It's so very surreal now ... I'm excited for all of us from January that have had interviews, have them up and coming. We never expected things to move this quickly but we are definitely excited. And we aren't just excited for ourselves, we are excited for everyone and their journeys as well. I'm so glad to have found VJ and feel lucky to be in with the January VSC filers (what a great group!) I hope all those still waiting from VSC January get their NOA2s very, very soon!!!!! The waiting took longer - about 4 hours total in Dortmund. They said they would send the results to the embassy by the end of the week. He just has to return to his primary doctor to get one more vaccination booster later this week. I was never one to believe in the whole "RFE Trick" thing, and I still won't say I do, but it seems a bit fishy that 'just yesterday' our case was sent back to the adjudicator. So basically then... our case has been sitting in a box in the mailroom since March 20th. I made sure to write RFE in big red letters on the envelope, and they opened it and updated out status as "Evidence Received, Case Processing Resumed" when it was received. It was just never handed off to our adjudicator, so they could finish out our case. GRRRRRRR. But, hopefully we do get a decision in the next few days. HOPEFULLY. I hope you get it this week!!!!! It doesn't surprise me though about them, getting it, scanning it back in, and letting it sit ... just goes back to the idea that there is no real accurate process to what they do. The $1010 AOS fee, and yes, the wedding expenses. Yes, we both knew it would be an expensive process, but when faced with all coming up in the next few months, it's get a little nerve wracking. I just started signing contracts and paying deposits this week for the wedding & reception. And I'm like OK, where is that money tree in the backyard?! I know it will all be fine, but it's sure taking a toll already, just thinking about the upcoming expenses. But like Kim said, I learned a long time ago, not to stress too much on it, because stressing on it won't resolve it. I'm half tempted to email the Frankfurt embassy to see if they got Packet 3 back and inquire about interview date, but they are gone already, so wouldn't get me any information until tomorrow. So I guess we should know our interview date in about a week. He also called the physician and has his medical scheduled for April 28th at 8AM (kind of sucks, as he has to take a train about 2 hours, so yeah, he'll be up at like 4AM that day, oops!) Everything just starts moving superfast after NOA2 ... All the impatient waiting to get NOA2, and then nervousness of doing the rest of the paperwork right! I hope everyone is doing well today!!! It's a two way street and requires work and support from both persons. Life changes are always an adjustment, but we are all strong, look at the process we have been going through to be with the ones we love. My parents faced an unfortunate turn a few years back, my father lost his job after 37 years with a company and it was way before he planned to retire. And unfortunately, the lay-off hit him hard and it was a struggle for him to deal with, and I am never sure I will understand how it truly impacted him. But I've been fortunate to help them out when they need it, and now more than ever as my father's health has suffered since the lay-off. I wouldn't change any of it for the world, I think back to all my parents did for me as a child and a young adult and am so glad to be in a position to help them. Am I excited that we share a living space temporarily, no, not really, but they are my family. They both love Stephen very much and are excited about him coming to the US. And good thing Stephen also likes them and they all get along well. I know as we go through the rest of the process I will be glad to have them for emotional support, etc. We know it will be trying to all be in the same house, but until he and I are assured my parents can manage, we will stick around to help them out, and vice versa, they help us out. And once we are ready, we'll jump to get our own place (I'm sure) but honestly, we know that it will allow us to pay of immigration expenses and wedding expenses much more quickly by dealing with the situation as it is, rather than trying to burden ourselves with further expenses. Then not forgetting, I also have to think about his mother, who will now be off on her own, and Stephen thousands of miles away. He's very close with his mother and they've always lived in close proximity, so it will be a large adjustment for her as well, and surely very emotional. But we plan to bring her over to the US once she has retired. It will be soon for all of us to be with our significant others ... and I know we are all looking forward to that!!! Then using the posts here about DHL, we were able to track our package (it was the only one going to Frankfurt all last week!) And then the unfortunate part, we had hoped packet 3 would come while I was still visiting, so we could do the forms together. We left to catch the train to Cologne on Saturday around noon. My flight was yesterday morning. Anyhow, when he got back home, he had Packet 3 waiting for him ... so now I'm busy scrambling to get things filled out on my end that I need to send him. If only had been one day sooner!! Anyhow, calling the NVC is a breeze, but do it either early in the morning or late at night East Coast time ... otherwise it will loop you through the automated system once and then pass you back, and tell you all representatives are busy and then hang up on you It all starts moving a lot faster now .... so happy for you!!! I'm in a similar timeframe to you, and all I can suggest to you is patience. It's not easy I know, but it's all we've got, because getting frustrated/upset over it isn't going to help.
