CanadaCanadians feeling guilty about taking jobs away from Americans?

Im a P.R. and soon to be an American Citizen (february 26th) and I believe that who ever works in this country has a right to work in it. Even illegals because most jobs they do for the pay they do it for most Americans wont do it. For example restaurant workers work 12hr shifts everyday 6-7 fays a week for about 5-7 dollars an hour and I still haven't seen one American come and apply for a job like that

I agrea my thinking is I like the country here ( love my husband )
but if the people wouldnt be so damn picky on where they work this country wouldnt have that many unlawfull immigrants working here ,( yes I dont agrea with unlawfull employment but whats the point of complaining )
I been living here for over 2 years and when you hear people beach and moan about whats right and wrong
meanwhile they sit on theyr lazy butts and are to spoiled to get theyr hands dirty ,
well i say if you dont like it get up and do something productive for the country ,work at a mc donalds washing dishes.
no one takes anyones job if you realy want the job to be yours ,
just my 2 cents

CanadaThere's something weird about the flu shot.
I never had any problems with my immunsystem till a year after i moved to montreal , started with a sevear bronchiatis , for the following few years the doc just gave me meds every spring and fall .
4-5 years ago he diagnosed it as cronic bronchiatis and since I have been getting the flu every 2 month on top of the bronchiatis , he gave me a flushot , yeah had a lil muscel discomfort but no biggy ,
the first flushot helped with the brochiatis and the flu , since then I get the flushot every year never had bronchiatis again since the first shot 4-5 years ago , and knock on wood other then a mild cold , no flu neather ,
so yup I deffenatly swear on the shot ,

I just send my pakage on the 24th they recievd it on the 25th
i dont think its going to be a problem not having an affidavit as long as you have enough other effidence ,

The sucky thing is we moved last year and only then did we start having joint bills, I guess I have other mail from the previous address though - I just don't want them getting confused and using that old address.

we moved this year too ,i dont have much from the old adresse neather since I wasnt on any uttility bill , i just included the bank statments some junk mail , visa bills , most the things with both our names is when we bought the house in may ,
I dont think they will get comfuesed with the old adresse since you filed a a11

I think her reaction was totaly normal , as a immigrant you do have to carry your passport or permanent resident card with you , lets say you unvolentierly end up in a trafic accident or somehow get stopped for id check, they might think your in the country eligal
as for resiving the card , i read somewhere that it can take up to 6 weeks after aproval to get it in mail , be patience I know its a long time

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionPO BOX and I-751 evidence

Right after my parents were married (my mom and my stepdad), we stayed with my aunt for about a couple of months before we moved to our new apartment. Their apartment mailbox was vandalized and robbed so my parents elected to get a PO Box for the safety of our documents (we were in the process of AoS at the time so getting the documents were of utmost importance).

The thing is, my stepdad put the PO Box as his address on his driver's license and most of his mail goes there since he never bothered to change it after we moved. He figured it was safer there anyway. However, when my mom applied for utility and the bills, she placed our current address. She also put our current address on her driver's license.

My question is, is this going to look bad to immigration officials? My mom does have some mail go to the PO Box but not many and I don't think I've seen any mail arrive for my stepdad in the mailbox here in our apartment.

Main thing is where your mail goes to and your physical address.
Can't see why mom and dad would come into play!

from my understanding your consern is , if they will have any red flag for having differant mailing adresses for the process am I right so far even thou they got effidence ( bills on same name ) , if I am probly you could ask john and marlene or Yu and dan or pushbrk they are exelent in giving advise ,
Oh I guess I wasn't very clear when I was explaining.

My parents are filing the I-751 for my mom. I won't be included yet in this petition because my GC expires next year.

In the evidence that my parents are supposed to send, one thing that stands out (to me, anyway) is that my mom's driver's license says our current address but my dad's is the PO Box. We have utility bills in both their names that go to our address since my mom took care of that but most of my stepdad's mail goes to the PO Box because he never bothered to change the address (like the w-2, I think). I was just wondering if this is considered a red flag.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTraveling with Green Card and no Passport

My husband is Canadian and he has his green card. He has lost his Canadian passport and is in the process of getting a new one. He, I and our 1 yr old child are traveling to Canada in 3 weeks and his passport has not yet arrived.

Has anyone traveled to Canada without the passport and only the greencard?

Thank-you in advance.

if your lucky and it works , he has to provide prove of new passport being processd , also canadian birth certificate would be required , and my advice is try to bring any aditional prove that he is canadian , ( driver license , health care card ,old passport even if expired , sin number ) anything you can gather up as prove, hope it works good luck Lona

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioncalling all JUNE 2oo7 fillers

i thought you had to apply to lift condition 3 month before 2nd marriage anerversary ?

You need to file the I-751 within the 90 day window prior to your second anniversary of being a permanent resident. The timeline of the OP shows that she was accorded resident status on June 8, 2005. Hence, she had to file the I-751 (if filed jointly) no sooner than March 10 and no later than June 8, 2007.

The I-751 has nothing to do with the marriage anniversary. My wife and I just filed her I-751 and we are approaching our fourth marriage anniversary. She became a resident a month before our second anniversary - unfortunate timing. Had she been accorded resident status just a month later, we wouldn't need to file the I-751 at all now.

OH ok see thats why I love this forum you learn so much , ty for the explanation have a great day Lona

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionpassport for removal of conditions
QUOTE (tachy @ Jan 6 2008, 02:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi everyone:

do you know if a valid passport is required when i apply for renewal of conditions of my green card? and if so for how long must it still be valid.

here is my situation:

my two year conditional green card expires in 02/2009 and my passport expires in 01/2009.

I am planning to go to germany in 04/2008 so i can not renew my passport until i come back from germany.

now i don't know when to renew my passport. should i do it after 04/2008 hoping it will be back in time for the renewal of conditions or can i wait and renew the passport after the renewal of conditions?

anyone know how long it takes to renew a german passport here?

also, when exactly can i send in my application for renwal of conditions if my greencard expires in 02/15/2009.

sorry for asking dumb questions but i have not been on VJ for a long time and i am not up to date on all that information.

thank you so much for you info in advance

greetings and it feels great to be back on VJ

tachy

not a dumb questiopn at all ,
here is the link to german consulate , you will have to look for the german consulate in your area , but german passport renewal can go between 8 - 10 weeks , also I dont know if your aware but if you took your husbands name in marriage you will have to do a name declaration before applying for the passport , so they can register your marriage in germany and issue your new passport in marriage name when you apply for it , but here you can read all about it , and good luck
