Well, I have considered spanking as yelling does not work. I yelled at her for spanking our 4 month old boy for wiggling during diaper changes, and screamed at her when she woke me in a dead sleep as she tried to shack our 4 month old son for crying in the night (telling her she can seriously injure a small baby). I have been confused if she is just an immature mom with no instructions from her mother and she often want to take the children back to Philippines. NOT WITHOUT ME! No marriage is perfect, but I try my best to be a good father and faithful husband. I still get the blame?

I do not hit women and the local police took her side on her Internet Prank thinking she was lying for me. Then, they realized it was all her. OR, at least the investigation was dropped on me. We live in USA where men are the target of any domestic abuse regardless of who does anything. Spanking my wife??? Best way that I know of going to Jail. :bonk:

sorry everyone this has nothing to do with immigration but want to advice doc's wife to read this
http://www.nlm.nih.g...icle/000004.htm
Doc i feel your wife might be a little immature
and realy dont know the consequences and harm she can cose to your baby ,
maybe there is a place you can send her where they give parental classes
so she can learn to stay calm and be a little more seriouse when it comes to the health of a infant ,
I dont meen that bad but please do show her this so she knows what shaking baby sydrom is
her laughing at seriouse mathers might be a sign to hide fear , she might need help good luck

I was thinking of something , even thought I dont agrea on pre nup if you know eachother well enough , ( but go for it if you only seen eachother like 2-3 times in real during the whole relationship ) anyhow my thought where also , you signd the I 134 to be the sponser for your future wife , isnt it correct from the time you signd the I 134 application you are already considert to be fully and financualy responsible for your spouse in the future to come , ( I think thats already kinda like a prenap in its own polite way , saying I will take care of you no mather what happens as long as your in the states ,) you signd the i 134 your the soul responsibilty of your future wife regardless of pre nap , you can say yes this was mine before the wedding , but she can still hammer financuely you under the table with the prove of your signature on the I 134 , thats all I say to that , good luck , Lona

PhilippinesPre-nups

Aloha,

Yes... Very sensitive subject. But it's becoming more pertinent by the day. Many friends are imploring me to get one written, and I am so confused about what to do.

Guys - how did you handle this touchy area??

Pinays - What are your feelings on pre-nups?? You ok with them or find them insulting??

Mahalo,
Bill

You are either very rich or very stupid. Please tell us which?

Lay off the insults, Epiphany. There is no call or excuse for your rude and attacking comment. Geez..the guy couldn't have been more honest and sensitive in the way he approached this delicate subject.

Samby

Mahalo Samby. You know, I've been on VJ.com for maybe 7 months and read it faithfully. I dont know if it's just me, but I sense the tone here at times has gotten more nasty and vengeful.

In the future, I'll try not to post things as itellectually or emotionally challanging.

Bill

just saw from your timeline , you met her in real for the first time this year ,
yes its a bit late to advice spending more time together in real since her interview is in august ,
so my advise is if you realy trust her and love her , then you should go for it get married have a pre nap if it makes you feel better ,
( might not be such a bad thing since you hardly seen eachother in real )
but be very sensitive how you aproch the subject ,
make her understand even with a pre nap if what you dont hope things should turn sour ,
she wont be left in the cold your her sposer so that automaticialy makes you responsible for her , just follow your heart , my belives in a good marriage to work , is trust loyalty honesty and communication ,,, good luck Lona

PhilippinesPre-nups
well to be honest i think ,
it should depand on how well and how long you have knowen your future spouse,
if you knowen her/him in real for at least a few year and realy know what the future will hold ,
as in my case i knowen my fiance for over 3 years I know him from head to toes ( he sais i know him better then he knows him self ) I would take it as an insolt if he would come up with that question before we get married ,
if you know someone long and well enough you should walk into the marriage without having the doubts that you might get riped off financuely , but if you only know your future spose for about a year or 2 and hardly ever met in real ( mostly just communicated on line or phone seen eachother once or twice during the relationship),
then yes i would say bring the subject to the attention, but would be careful in words and making sure the future spose is well informd that you love her/him

PhilippinesCertificate of Non-Marriage

So my fiancee is currently going through her medical at St. Lukes and of course she talked to others applying for K-1 visa. One of the people she talked to had a certificate of non-marriage from their fiance and now my fiancee wants me to get one as well. As far as I know I don't need to get one and even if I did I wouldn't know where to get one from. I've read and skimmed through the I-129F and even the I-134 but I don't recall either one mentioning this document. Can anyone help clear this up for me? Thank you.

I didnt need one for I 129f and am aproved for it , also never seen a non certificate of marriage as a requirement . just look over the instruction on whats required again good luck . Lona

CanadaPlease help with letter to extend I-129F
QUOTE (K1_WAIT @ Jan 12 2008, 03:55 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My Fiancee has not received packet 3 yet (about 3 months since NOA2 was approved) and our I-129F expires on February 28th. I am thinking we may not get the interview date before February 28th and so would like to apply for extension of I-129F with US Consulate in Montreal.

Can someone please post a sample letter that they have used to send to Consulate to get their I-129F extended?

Thank You,
Peter

i was worried about that too when we filed last year , I e maild montreal about it , they informed me not to worry they will automaticialy extend it at the interview , I brought the e mail with me to the interview had no problem
am sure it wont be a big deal ,I would e mail them , but if you like a letter I found this in the example forms
(Date)

From: (Your name, address, phone, SS number)
To: (Name and address of consulate)
RE: (name and vital data of your fiancé, including I-797 approval notice number, date of birth, address, phone number)

Dear Honorable American Consulate of (name of consulate, such as Mumbai):

It is my understanding that pursuant to 9FAM 41.81 N3.1 (Period of validity), the consulate can extend the approval notice for another 4 months, if my fiancé and I remain legally free to marry and continue to plan to marry after my fiancé enters the United States.

Therefore, please be aware:

I and my fiancé continue to be legally single and free to marry.
I and my fiancé love each other and plan to marry after his/her entrance in to the United States.
If my I-797 approval notice has expired by the time of my fiancé’s interview,

I sincerely request that you extend the approval notice (copy attached) so that my fiancé, (name of fiancé) may receive the K-1 visa.

Canada10 months to citizenship. I am going to do it.
I never thought i would change my citizenship but as time pass by and learning about german laws
well i lived in canada as a PR for almost 20 years never gave up my german citizenship ,
but I got curiouse and looked into what to do to be dual citizen and I couldnt belive it ,
the german Gov actualy want you to aply for some kinda cert
about a year before you aply for another citizenship and pay around 700 euros
to be able to keep the german citizenship,
and since i dont see a point in aplying and paying for something that I was born into
and should have the right to keep on my own choice reguardless if I take on another citizenship
just to have it on a piece of papper proving my citizenship to a country I know i will never return to live
( other then a short visit to my siblings )
yeah it was disapointing to see all the steps I would have to take to keep the german citizenship if i would like to be dual ,
well I came to the decission
if they like to be so ####### and have the power over something only you should have the final say so ,
then yes i think in a year or two I will drop the german citizenship and go for the US citizenship

CanadaIs this too much to ask?
WOW this is so sad , do tthose people know how it actualy feels to loos a parent ?
I lost my mom when i was 17 ( am 42 now )never thought I could love another woman like I did her
till I met Tonys Mom they accepted me into theyr family from day one with open arms ,
now its like loosing a mom all over again she passt on cancer just before christmas last year ,
I know this has nothing to do with this post but all I can say is your inlaws have to grow da F%$# up and learn life is way to short to be arongant and ignorant S.O.B
this is your MOM the lady who raised you to be the woman who your fiance wants to marry so they should respect her to have raised a great girl ,
and be happy your fiance was able to have found the woman of his dreams thanks to your MOM
I hope things work out for you good luck

OMG, so yesterday my husband and I happened to be talking about the beach and men wearing speedos..... I have no recollection of how this came about.... it just did. Anyway, my husband mentioned the guy who was wearing a speedo at the Chester Races in England last summer.... which is a huge annual event.... and how odd and abnormal he found that. All of a sudden it struck me as absolutely hilarious because, although I found it odd.... I thought it was completely normal. (I think right there you can see the difference in culture.) And then I remembered I had taken a picture of the guy! As security was in the process of escorting him out, my daughter ran over saying "Wait! Wait! I need to have my picture taken with him first!". So they waited! LOL. Anyway.... here it is.....

CanadaPatriotic Tattoo
I got a few tats myself and yes my advise is if you like to get it on the ancle
I would waite till the weather is better ,
cose when I had mine done on the ancle it was fall ,
and with putting on socks and wearing long jeans since it was cold
the constant rubbing fabric over the fresh tat gave me an infection ,
unless you keep a bandaid over it till the first layer heals ,
I had a bandaid over it for a week when I first got it but guess it wasnt long enough ,
mine only hurt cose it was infected ,
usualy a tat doesnt hurt more then a sunburn ,

PS : I like the idea with the birth cert , lmao
since thats kinda big why not go for the real big deal ,
get a tat of a family tree and have little tiny flags (the size of the icones here  ) beside each family member , lol

CanadaCanadians feeling guilty about taking jobs away from Americans?

Im a P.R. and soon to be an American Citizen (february 26th) and I believe that who ever works in this country has a right to work in it. Even illegals because most jobs they do for the pay they do it for most Americans wont do it. For example restaurant workers work 12hr shifts everyday 6-7 fays a week for about 5-7 dollars an hour and I still haven't seen one American come and apply for a job like that

I agrea my thinking is I like the country here ( love my husband )
but if the people wouldnt be so damn picky on where they work this country wouldnt have that many unlawfull immigrants working here ,( yes I dont agrea with unlawfull employment but whats the point of complaining )
I been living here for over 2 years and when you hear people beach and moan about whats right and wrong
meanwhile they sit on theyr lazy butts and are to spoiled to get theyr hands dirty ,
well i say if you dont like it get up and do something productive for the country ,work at a mc donalds washing dishes.
no one takes anyones job if you realy want the job to be yours ,
just my 2 cents
